Many people – both believers and unbelievers alike – have asked themselves, What is Christ doing right now? When He was on earth He was so busy and He did so much, but what about now?
The Bible tells us that He is sitting at the right hand of God, enjoying all the fully accomplished work He did while on the earth.
Also, the Bible tells us that Christ is standing, as He is watching His witnesses on the earth being persecuted (Acts 7:55), or as He walks among the churches to shepherd them and take care of them (Rev. 1:13).
Our Christ today is in His ascension, very living and active, working much more than before, and we as His believers on the earth cooperate with Him by also being in ascension one with Him and working together with Him!
What is Christ Doing Today?
What is Christ doing today? He is not mainly “fighting for God”, but He is working to propagate Himself all over the earth through all the members of His Body.
He is no longer in a physical form with us here on earth, but He is in all His believers, going out in their going, and being propagated in resurrection as the ascended one, by the Spirit, and through all the disciples!
This is what the book of Acts speaks about – not merely about the disciples of Jesus spreading His teaching on all the earth, but something about the propagation of the resurrected Christ in His ascension, by the Spirit, and through the disciples, for the producing of the churches – the kingdom of God.
Hallelujah, we can cooperate with Christ’s heavenly ministry today!
Christ is Being Propagated Through the Believers
When the Lord Jesus was on the earth, He worked for and He also trained His disciples to work for God, and the main work He did – both through His living and through His work – was to bring in the kingdom of God.
After His resurrection and ascension, Christ has transmitted His life and power into His redeemed and chosen ones, and He as the Head of the Body is TO the church (Eph. 1:22).
Through this transmission from Christ to the church we all the believers receive all Christ is, has, and has accomplished to be our supply, nourishment, life, and everything as we work with and for God.
The heavenly Christ is being transmitted into us, and the ascended Christ is within us – ascension is in our spirit (Col. 1:27; 3:1; Rom. 8:10, 34)!
We are now those who cooperate, co-respond, co-work, and co-minister on the earth with Christ’s work in the heavens. As He does things in the heavens, so we respond and do things on the earth.
He wants to be propagated throughout the earth so that the churches may be produced for the bringing in of the kingdom of God – we cooperate with Him!
We don’t just “preach the gospel to save souls”; we preach the gospel for the kingdom to come in! Our spirit is joined to the heavens, and Christ as the heavenly ladder (John 1:51) is transmitting the heavens to the earth in our spirit.
Today as we live, move, serve, act, and do everything in our spirit, the heavens is being brought to the earth, and Christ is propagated, spread, increased, to bring in God’s kingdom on the earth.
Doing a Work Fully in Ascension
Most of the work done in Christianity today is earthly, in the social work realm, and not much in the heavens.
In the Lord’s recovery today, as we allow the Lord to recover us back to His original intention and purpose, we need to have a heavenly nature, live by our spirit, and be in a heavenly sphere as we work for God (Eph. 1:22).
Our work must be in ascension, and we should be able to testify that we are working in Christ’s ascension (Acts 2:32-33). It is us who is working on the earth, but the work and the atmosphere is of the heavens.
As we enjoy Christ in His ascension in our spirit, as we enjoy His continual transmission bringing heavens to earth in our spirit, we will also work one with Him to bring the heavens to the earth. It will be us working, but it is the resurrected Christ in ascension doing this from the throne in the heavens.
We need to be careful as we work for the Lord, even in the local churches – it is so easy that even our work in the Lord’s recovery would be tinted by the earth, by something that is not the heavens but rather something natural, good, ethical, or moral.
We need to be continually connected to the ascended Christ in our spirit and wherever we are, whatever we speak and whatever we do, heavens should open to people! We should work in a heavenly condition.
As the continuation of the book of Acts today we need to learn both from the Lord (who did nothing from Himself but what the Father told Him to do in His fellowship with Him) and from the apostles in Acts to do everything not in our natural capacity, in our good will and intention, or in anything natural – but in ascension!
Stay in the transmission of the ascended Head, and you will be one with Him in His work today!
God’s History Becomes Our History
Our history is not what the world tells us that history is – it is not wars, inflation, injustice, unrighteousness, murders, pollution, global warming, European Union, election, or anything else outward. Our history today is with God, it is a divine history being written within human history.
The Christ in ascension (in the heavenlies, Eph. 2:6) is in our spirit, mingling Himself with every part of our being (1 Cor. 6:17). Hallelujah, the Lord today is in our spirit in His ascension!
As He moves in us, God’s history becomes our history. Today as we are being mingled with the Triune God we share the same history, and we cooperate with Him to write the divine history today!
Our life is hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:3), and as we allow Christ to make His home in us and move in us as the ascended One, we make history – we make the divine history as a continuation of God’s history in and with man!
As we do things in oneness with Him, the divine history is being written in the heavens.
Hallelujah! In Christ’s ascension, the Triune God moves in us, and this move becomes His history and also our history because He and we are mingled as one and have the same history!
Thank You Lord for being in us as the Ascended Christ in our spirit! We are joined to You as one spirit. Lord, we want to be those who live, act, work, and do everything in our spirit. Lord, save us from working in a natural way, and save us from being those doing outward things for You without being one with You. We seek to be one with You in everything we do. Lord, we want to work, minister, shepherd, and do everything in our spirit, where Christ in ascension is!

Today God is still moving in His ascension. He is living, dwelling, staying, ministering, serving, working, moving, and acting in His ascension.
He is in His ascension within us. This is why Paul tells us that we are seated together with Christ in His ascension, which Paul calls “the heavenlies” [Eph. 2:6]. The very heavenlies referred to by Paul is the ascension. Within our being there is something quite extraordinary. This extraordinary thing is a person, the ascended Christ. He came into us in His ascension. The Lord today is in our spirit in His ascension. In this ascension the Triune God moves in us, and this move becomes His history. It also becomes our history because we and He, He and we, are now mingled as one. We two have the same history. (The Move of God in Man, p. 98)
