God’s original intention was not just to have the creation of the universe and the creation of man – He was looking for something more. This is why He put man in front of the tree of life – God does not just want MAN, but He wants man to receive Him as life, be filled with Him as life, and live Him out as his life!
But God had to wait for at least 2000 years until He could enter man – the old creation, of which Adam was the head, was without God until the Lord Jesus came! Actually, the old creation is OLD because God, who is NEW, is not in it! When we are born as human beings, no matter how good or spiritual our parents or our family is, we are born in the old creation, without having the divine life and nature.
We can receive the divine life and the divine nature ONLY by believing into the Lord Jesus Christ and thus being regenerated by the Spirit! This is the way to become “a new creation” – no longer just the old creation but a new creation that has God in it! The new creation is actually the old creation transformed by the divine life, by the processed Triune God!
Hallelujah, as believers we have God in us – and we are a new creation! 2 Cor. 5:17 clearly says this,
So then if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, they have become new.
This is why God became a man in the Lord Jesus’ incarnation – God became a man to bring God into man. He lived a perfect human life and then He died an all-inclusive death on the cross for the germination of the new creation.
Through the breaking of the outer shell of His humanity, the divine life within the Lord Jesus was released through His death (John 12:24). In His resurrection He produced the new creation – there was a “mass production” of the many sons of God with the Firstborn Son of God! In Christ’s resurrection there was the beginning of the new creation. But this is just the beginning!
In His ascension, as Head over all things to the church (which is His Body) and as the great High Priest, Christ continues to work in His heavenly ministry to constitute and build up one thing – the one new man! Christ in His heavenly ministry does a continual work of constituting the new creation which He germinated in His death and produced in His resurrection.
Eventually, God wants the complete mingling of God and man, the New Jerusalem! The work of God for His new creation is for the completion of the constitution of the New Jerusalem as the mingling of the processed Triune God with His transformed tripartite saints to be God’s expression and the saints’ blessing for eternity!
This is what God is after: He wants to constitute the new man consummating in the New Jerusalem! He wants an eternal corporate expression – which is also our eternal blessing – the New Jerusalem! The New Jerusalem is the consummation of Christ’s ministry, including His earthly ministry and His heavenly ministry.
Today Christ in His heavenly ministry – in His ascension – is constituting the new creation with Christ, by Christ, in Christ, and through Christ. He is working Himself into all His believers until He becomes our life and our everything.
The consummation of this process going on right now is that God will obtain the New Jerusalem – a city which is the mingling of the processed and consummated Triune God with His transformed tripartite saints to be God’s expression and the saints’ blessing for eternity! Wow, praise the Lord, we are now part of this process and we have such a glorious destiny!

Thank You Lord we are no longer just the old creation! We are now regenerated sons of God, part of the new creation! All things of the past are gone and old – behold, everything has become new! Lord, keep us enjoying Your new and fresh life until Your life becomes our life in reality! Constitute us more with Your life, and make us Your new man! Gain what You are after, Lord! Gain the New Jerusalem – Your eternal corporate expression! Gain Your expression in humanity! Make us part of it – gain our cooperation more! We want more mingling of God with man today! More building up of the Body of Christ today!
