Christ as our High Priest is Interceding for us and He is Ministering God into us

Christ in His ascension is our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek; He intercedes for us to be His overcomers to defeat His enemies so that Christ may be manifested in His second coming, and He ministers God into us.

This week in the morning revival we are enjoying the topic of, The Revelation, Experience, and Enjoyment of the Ascended Christ as a Merciful, Faithful, and Great High Priest.

Christ today is in His ascension in the heavenlies, and for us to cooperate with Him in His heavenly ministry we need to experience the dividing of the soul and spirit. We need to allow the living and operative word of God to separate the soul from the spirit just as the joint and marrow are divided.

By the breaking of the outer man, the soul, our soul and spirit are divided; this should be our experience day by day. As our spirit is divided from our soul, we need to know how to use our spirit and exercise our spirit in the things of God.

All the matters concerning the heavenly ministry of Christ are accessible through the spirit, by the exercise of our spirit.

Using our mind will only help us comprehend the knowledge of the heavenly ministry of Christ with so many items, such as Him being the King, the Lord of all, the Leader and the Savior, the High Priest, the Heavenly Minister, the Administrator of God’s economy, etc. In order for us to be joined to the Lord in His heavenly ministry and cooperate with Him we have no other way but the exercise of our spirit.

The chiefest point in Hebrews is that Christ, the Son of God, is the great High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek, doing many wonderful things to execute God’s economy among God’s people.

This High Priest ministers not only in the outer court or in the Holy Place but in the Holy of Holies, bringing the people of God on His shoulders and breast into God’s presence before the mercy-seat, and there He ministers to God, so that through this He would have something to minister to God’s people.

This High Priest needs us to cooperate with Him, less His ministry is hindered. We have a high calling – we are called not only to come forward to enjoy the Lord a little or be saved a little more, but come forward to be joined to Him and be one with Him in His heavenly ministry!

In His intercessory ministry He always lives to interceded, and we as those joined to Him need to be the echo on earth corresponding to His ministry in the heavens. The church as a whole has become degraded, failing God, and it will remain like this until He returns; the Lord’s call today is for the overcomers.

The Lord must gain overcomers who would rise not to be super-Christians but just be up to the standard of God in order to fulfill what God wants.

A Priest comes from God and Ministers something of God to God’s People

In most of our common and natural understanding, when we think of a priest we think of someone who serves God with the offerings; however, the basic significance of a priest in the Bible is that a priest ministers God to man.

Yes, Christ in His earthly ministry offered Himself as a replacement of all the sacrifices to be the eternal sacrifice for the accomplishment of an eternal redemption, but right now He is our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek, and as such a One, He ministers God to us.

The first mention of anything in the Bible establishes its principle; the first time the word priest was used is not in Exodus but in Genesis 14:18-20, where we see Melchizedek.

The foundational story of the priesthood in the Bible is that of a priest coming from God and ministering something of God to God’s people. The offering of the sacrifices came later, being a kind of addition due to the problem of sin; the original work of a priest, according to the picture in Genesis 14, is to come from God – not even going to God first, but coming from God – and ministering something of God to His people. This is God’s economy.

The problem of sin needs to be taken care of due to man’s fall, but God’s eternal economy is not just to do away with sin, saving people from their sin; God’s economy and desire is to infuse people with God, adding God to them, and dispensing God into their being to fill them with God, make them one with God, and even make them God in life and nature.

This is the original function of a priest. In Gen. 18, a chapter on international affairs, we see some super-powers allying themselves and fighting other super-powers; yet in this we see the divine history within the human history.

After Abram heard that his nephew Lot was taken captive, he went with 318 men – the overcomers – and defeated the kings and released his brother.

They won the victory not because Abram was powerful or skilled in battle, but most likely because Melchizedek was praying on his behalf, much like Moses on the mountain with his hands raised up to heaven being the cause of Joshua’s winning the war below in the valley.

After this overcomer, Abram our father, slaughtered the kings and was on his way back, someone called Melchizedek showed up with bread and wine.

He was a priest of the Most High God, with no genealogy or history; he simply showed up, gave Abram bread and wine, blessed Abram (the greater blesses the less), and he blessed God Himself, who delivered Abram’s enemies into his hands; there, Abram offered him tithes.

This Melchizedek is a type of Christ, who is the real High Priest coming to minister the processed and consummated Triune God as the bread and the wine to us. And we need to cooperate with Him in His heavenly ministry as the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek by ministering God to others.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek to intercede for us and to minister God to us. We open to Your constant ministering and dispensing of the processed and consummated God into our being. Infuse us with Yourself, dispense Yourself into us, fill us with God, and make us fully one with God. Amen, Lord, we want to be one with You in Your heavenly ministry to minister God to others. May our interaction with other people simply minister something of God to them!

Today Christ is our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek; He intercedes for us in a hidden way (Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25) that we may be His overcomers to defeat God’s enemies so that, through our victory, Christ can be manifested openly in His second coming.

Genesis 14 is a picture of the Lord’s coming to meet His overcomers and minister bread and wine to them. The Lord promised, after He instituted the first Lord’s table, that He will not eat this with His disciples until He eats it anew in the kingdom.

In His coming, the Lord will bring bread and wine not to everyone but to the Abrams, the overcomers, the fighters, the warriors. We are those being produced through His intercession who cooperate with His intercession.

There’s no boast in us still being here and going on with the Lord, for someone is praying that we overcome, defeat the enemies, and regain our brothers. One day, after much of this is done, the Overcomer Himself will show up; the Lord will be manifested openly.

God must defeat His enemies and Christ must deal with His enemies for the full salvation of His people and the establishment of His kingdom on the earth.

Today, while He is above, interceding, we are on earth as the Abrams fighting on His behalf, as His overcomers; in so doing, after every fight, Christ as the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek comes to minister Himself as the bread and the wine.

Our church life today is a fight; we fight not with one another but for God’s people, His interest, the church, to slay the adversary within and defeat the enemy without in the air. Melchizedek came from God and ministered something to Abraham; the bread and the wine signify God being ministered to us to nourish us, refresh us, sustain us, comfort us, and strengthen us (Gen. 14:18).

During the war, He prays; after the battle, He ministers. We need to cling to our High Priest and be one with Him, participate in His prayer, and partake of His ministry to us with Himself.

In His heavenly ministry Christ was designated by God to be a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 5:6, 10) not to offer sacrifices for sin as Aaron did but to minister to us the very God who was processed through incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection, signified by the bread and wine (Matt. 26:26-28).

The Lord’s table is an after-the-battle banquet which He has set for us before our enemies. We are eating the Lord’s table before Him in victory. Every Lord’s day is a celebration – it shouldn’t be a defeat, but it should be full of praising the Lord.

The Lord’s recovery should be full of fighters, overcomers, those who all week-long fight against the flesh, their self, the soul life, the natural man, the enemy, the evil spirits, the demons, the powers of darkness in prayer, and who go and preach the gospel to propagate the resurrected Christ and shepherd people.

After a week of fighting we come together to have Christ as our real Melchizedek minister to us, and we celebrate with Him. If there’s no fighting during the week, there’s no celebration at the Lord’s table meeting.

If we live a defeated home life, the Table will not ring with shouts of praises. The Lord’s table is therefore an exhibition of our daily life; it is not a place to perform, not a ritual we do once a week, but a demonstration of how we live. if we live an overcomer’s life, we will eat a Victor’s table.

Thank You Lord for being our High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek who always lives to intercede for us. We are here because of Your constant unceasing intercession. Thank You for coming to us to minister the processed Triune God as our nourishment, refreshment, sustaining, comfort, and strengthening. Keep us fighting the battle against the flesh, the self, the soul-life, the natural man, the evil spirits, the demons, and the power of darkness in prayer, and keep us coming to You to have You minister the processed God for our supply! We love You, our Lord Jesus in ascension as the High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek!
