According to the Bible, the Divine Trinity is for God’s Dispensing of Himself into us

2 Cor. 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The entire Bible shows us that the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing, for every portion of the Word regarding the Divine Trinity is not a doctrine but a way for us to enjoy, realise, experience, and participate in what God is.

Throughout the centuries there have been many believers, academics and regular believers alike, who have studied the matter of the Triune God and the Divine Trinity, and most of them got confused or misled while trying to systematise or formalise what the Triune God is.

It is worthwhile for us to spend our time and energy, with a spirit of prayer, to exercise our entire being to conduct a deeper study of the Divine Trinity in the holy Word; however, we need to realise that the Triune God is for His divine dispensing, for God is Triune so that He can dispense Himself into us.

May we be saved from falling into the heresy of having “three Gods” – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.

Unconsciously, many believers believe in three Gods; they think that they have to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power and with the help of the Holy Spirit, so all their prayers have to mention each and every one of the Divine Trinity.

While this is not bad, that is, to mention the three of the Triune God, it is incorrect to believe that we have three gods. It sounds crazy to say that we have three gods, and most believers would never admit that, but in their heart and in their practice they actually do believe this.

Similarly, it is incorrect to fall on the side of modalism, that is, to believe that God exists in “modes” – when the Father is done with “His stage”, the Son comes in, and when the Son accomplished His stage, the Spirit comes in.

May we be saved from merely trying to mentally understand or systematize the Triune God with His divine Trinity, and may we be brought into the enjoyment and experience of the Triune God with His Divine Trinity!

If we prayerfully study the word of God we will realise that, on one hand, there’s no mention of the terms “The Triune God” or “The Divine Trinity”, but the divine facts are there; on the other hand, all the mentioning of the Triune God is not for doctrine but for enjoyment and experience.

The fact that the Bible contains no doctrines concerning the Triune God or the Divine Trinity indicates strongly that the Divine Trinity is not for us to mentally study and understand but for God to work Himself into us, His chosen people, so that we may partake of, experience, and enjoy Him.

Every Mention of the Divine Trinity in the Bible is for our Participation in the Triune God

Every direct or indirect mention, indication, or implication of the Divine Trinity in the Bible is for our participation in the Triune God (John 14:19-20, 23; Eph. 4:3-6; Rev. 1:4-5). Whenever we study a portion of the Word regarding the Divine Trinity, we should not be content to look for doctrinal teaching but should realize that this portion is for us to know how to participate in, enjoy, and experience the Triune God (Eph. 1:3-7, 13-14). Witness LeeIf we read all the main portions in the Bible concerning the Triune God in His Divine Trinity we will realise that every direct or indirect mention, indication, or implication in the Bible is for our participation in the Triune God (John 14:19-20, 23; Eph. 4:3-6; Rev. 1:4-5).

For example, one of the last verses in Matthew contains the Lord’s great commission for us, that we go and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19).

In this verse we don’t see a doctrine of who the Triune God is; what we see here is the believers should disciple the unbelievers and baptise them into the Triune God – baptise them into one name – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit – of the Triune God.

We are baptised into the Triune God so that we may participate in Him and enjoy Him. In Word Studies in the New Testament M. R. Vincent says, “Baptizing into the name of the Holy Trinity implies a spiritual and mystical union with him.”

Time and time again in the Bible, whenever the three in the Triune God are mentioned, they are not for our doctrinal understanding but for our participation in the Triune God.

For instance, the last verse in 2 Corinthians says, The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all (2 Cor. 13:14).

What we see here is not a teaching or a doctrine concerning the Triune God or the Divine Trinity, but our need to enjoy and experience the Triune God as love, grace, and fellowship. Love as the source corresponds to God the Father, grace as the expression and course corresponds to God the Son, and fellowship as the transmission and reaching corresponds to God the Spirit.

God the Father is love, and He is expressed through God the Son who is grace, who is transmitted to us and reaches us as God the Spirit who is fellowship.

Although there is no teaching or doctrine concerning the Trinity here, there is a spiritual fact that those who preach the gospel should baptize the believing ones into the name of the Triune God — the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit [Matt. 28:19]. We are baptized into the Triune God so that we may participate in and enjoy Him. In Word Studies in the New Testament M. R. Vincent says, “Baptizing into the name of the Holy Trinity implies a spiritual and mystical union with him.” This shows that the Trinity is not for teaching. Witness Lee, The Divine Trinity as Revealed in the Holy Word, ch. 1We simply need to pray over this verse, mixing it with our faith and prayer through the exercise of our spirit, and we will touch the reality of this verse in spirit.

The Triune God is simply for our enjoyment and participation.

Therefore, whenever we study a portion of the Word of God concerning the Divine Trinity, we shouldn’t be content to look merely for the doctrinal teaching to understand it; rather, we should realise that this portion is for us to know how to participate in, enjoy, and experience the Triune God.

For example, in a portion such as Eph. 1:3-7, 13-14 on the rich blessing of the Triune God for us to produce us to be the church as the Body of Christ, we have the Father’s choosing and predestination, the Son’s redeeming, and the Spirit’s sealing and pledging.

God is one, yet in His Divine Trinity He is carrying out His economy stage by stage to bring us into a participation in the Triune God in our experience.

Hallelujah, the Divine Trinity is mentioned in the Bible in portion after portion not for our mental apprehension but for our participation in the Triune God!

Lord, open our eyes to see and enlighten our mind to realise that the Divine Trinity is not mainly for our mental understanding but for our enjoyment and participation in the Triune God! Hallelujah, God the Father is the source as love, God the Son is the expression as grace, and God the Spirit is the fellowship to reach us and transmit the Triune God into us! Praise the Lord, the Father chose and predestinated us, the Son redeemed us, and the Spirit seals us and pledges us so that we may be the church, the Body of Christ!

According to the Revelation of the Bible, the Divine Trinity is for God’s Dispensing

According to the entire revelation of the sixty-six books of the Bible, the Trinity of the Godhead is for God’s dispensing. God’s desire with His strong intention is to dispense Himself into His chosen people as their life, as their life supply, and as their everything. To do this, or to carry out this dispensing, He needs to be triune. Without His Trinity He has no way to carry out His divine dispensing. Therefore, His Trinity is absolutely for the divine dispensing. Witness Lee, “Elders’ Training, Book 3: The Way to Carry Out the VisionWhen we come to the matter of the Divine Trinity in the holy word of God we need to be open to the Lord and unveiled by Him from any concepts, opinions, and religious thoughts, for it is very easy to naturally try to understand or systematize God.

But according to the entire revelation of the Bible, the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing, not merely for our understanding or systematizing.

The more we try to understand the Triune God, the more complicated and confused we become; the more we exercise our spirit to pray over the word of God, especially over the verses mentioning the Divine Trinity, the more we enjoy the divine dispensing.

The entire Bible is about God’s economy to dispense Himself into us; this is the central subject of the whole Bible.

The key structure of the divine economy is the Divine Trinity, for God is Triune mainly for the purpose of dispensing Himself into us.

It is OK to say in a general sense that God dispenses Himself into us; if we want to be more particular, actual, and practical, however, we need to say that God is dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us, even that God is dispensing His Divine Trinity into us.

Hallelujah, the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing, and the Triune God is dispensing His Divine Trinity into us!

God’s desire with His strong intention is to dispense Himself int us, His chosen people, to be our life, our life supply, and our everything. But for Him to do this, for Him to carry out His dispensing, He needs to be triune, for without His Trinity He cannot carry out His divine dispensing.

The Trinity of the Godhead is for the divine dispensing, for according to the revelation of the Bible, the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing.

How can Christ make His home in our heart? It is by the Father strengthening us through His Spirit into the inner man, so that Christ may make His home in our heart through faith (Eph. 3:14-17).

The New Testament reveals that all three of the Divine Trinity are in us. Eph. 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 2 Cor. 13:5 ...do you not realize about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you... Col. 1:27 ...Christ in you, the hope of glory. John 14:20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. Rom. 8:11 ...the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you... Without the Divine Trinity there’s no way for God to dispense Himself into us, but praise the Lord, God has the attribute of Trinity – He’s the Father, the Son, and the Spirit – so that He may flow into us, reach us, and bring us to participate in His economy, in His dispensing!

Because the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing, when we are regenerated we do not only receive Christ or the Spirit in us; rather, the New Testament reveals that ALL THREE of the Divine Trinity are in us!

In portions such as Eph. 4:6; John 14:20, 23; Rom. 8:10-11; 2 Cor. 13:5; Col. 1:27; Phil. 2:13 we can see that the Father is in us, the Son is in us, and the Spirit is in us. The New Testament clearly tells us that the entire Triune God in His Divine Trinity is in us.

Theologians want to understand the “substance of the Triune God” and coined the word “hypostasis“, supporting beneath (in Greek).

The Triune God is supported beneath with three elements – the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. The Divine Trinity is the constituent, the constitution of the Triune God; the Triune God is constituted of the Divine Trinity.

However, there are no three distinct persons in the Triune God; saying there are three distinct persons is speaking a heresy. Praise the Lord for our wonderful, complicated, yet enjoyable dispensing Triune God!

Hallelujah, the entire revelation in the Bible shows us that the Divine Trinity is for God’s dispensing of Himself into us! Lord, we open to Your dispensing! We open to the divine dispensing of the Triune God in His Divine Trinity into our being so that we may be filled with all that God is! Amen, Lord, we say Amen to Your divine dispensing of Your Divine Trinity into us. You are our life, our life supply, and our everything. We appreciate Your divine dispensing, and we open to Your dispensing of Yourself in Your Divine Trinity into us!
