We know God’s Faithfulness as we Contact Him, Enjoy Him as our Portion, and Hope in Him

Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore I hope in Him. Lam. 3:24

Oh, great is God’s faithfulness! How we love His compassions, lovingkindness, and faithfulness toward us! He is our portion, we hope in Him, and we love to contact Him every morning by calling on His name to enjoy Him as our portion!

I am so encouraged to see that Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, even though had a lot of laments, wails, griefs, sorrows, and much, much weeping, he broke through here and there, and he touched God!

Even though the people of Israel were disobedient to God, even though they were rebellious toward Him and did not listen to His word, and even though God had to come in and chastise them to the point of devastating the whole land by the hand of the Babylonians, Jeremiah still contacted God, enjoyed His compassions and lovingkindness, and he touched God’s faithfulness.

Our God is compassionate, full of mercies, and His lovingkindness endures forever.

Even though He has to chastise us or discipline us because of our rebellion toward Him and our unwillingness to listen to Him, we can still be reached by His compassions (which do not fail but are new every morning) and His lovingkindness is always there for us.

Whenever we turn to the Lord, whenever we exercise our spirit and turn our heart to Him, we enter into the sanctuary of God, we enjoy His fresh and new compassions, and His lovingkindness is with us.

Also, we touch His lovingkindness in the church; many times we think that, because of what we have done or even because of what we are, we should be under God’s punishment (which is usually a thought from the evil one who always accuses us), yet what we meet is God’s lovingkindness, His compassions, and His faithfulness.

Even though we may fail, God’s compassions preserve us for the carrying out of His economy. His compassions are deep, fine, and tender, issuing from His very being; He is a compassionate, tender, and fine God who loves us and reaches out to us wherever we are, even though we are far away from Him so many times.

We cannot live without His compassions, and without His lovingkindness we cannot exist or go on with Him; without His faithfulness we stray away from Him and are unfaithful, but thank the Lord that He is faithful, and He constantly brings us into the fellowship of His Son.

God’s loving essence issue in His inward affection and is expressed as His compassion; He reaches us in His compassions, and His compassions are new every morning!

Hallelujah, every morning we can have a new beginning with the Lord: we can apply the precious blood of Christ, we can have a fresh new start, and we can enjoy God’s compassions which are ever new and ever fresh!

God’s Compassions to not Fail for He is Faithful: Great is God’s Faithfulness!

For Your lovingkindness is as great as the heavens; and Your faithfulness reaches unto the skies. Psa. 57:10 ...Great is Thy faithfulness. Lam. 3:23In Lam. 2:23 Jeremiah exclaimed, Great is Your faithfulness. Hallelujah!

God’s compassions do not faith because our God is the faithful One; great is God’s faithfulness (Psa. 57:10)!

His compassions are new every morning; the Lord is faithful to His word, and every morning when we wake up and turn our heart to Him, new compassions are there for us to enjoy.

Before even we are awake and alert, fresh new compassions from God are there for us because of His faithfulness!

Amen, our God is faithful, through whom we were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Cor. 1:9).

We need to be assured of God’s faithfulness – in His faithfulness He will confirm us, His believers, until the end, making us unreprovable in the day of the Lord’s return (v 8).

In His faithfulness, God has called us into the fellowship, the joint participation of His son, and He will keep us in this enjoyment of His Son in His faithfulness.

And if we sin, if we commit a sin, and the Lord’s light shines on us in our contact with Him, we can confess our sins, and He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

This is His word; God is faithful to us in His word (1 John 1:10), which is the word of the truth of His gospel (Eph. 1:13), to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we confess our sins, God is faithful to His word to forgive us, cleanse us, and remove all unrighteousness and sins.

He also promised us that, as the faithful God who calls us, He will also sanctify us wholly and preserve our entire being complete (1 Thes. 5:23-24).

In ourselves we are not faithful; we fail and fall many times, but God is faithful – He has called us, He initiated this, and He is working to sanctify us wholly and preserve our entire being complete. Hallelujah!

Jeremiah was reviewing the situation of the children of Israel, their afflictions, their disobedience, and their desolation under God’s chastising hand, and he regretted their sinfulness and their desolate situation.

Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light. Col. 1:12 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Tim. 2:13However, as he contacted God he touched God’s lovingkindness; he realized that God’s people were still under God’s compassions, and His compassions do not fail, for God’s faithfulness is so great. Oh, great is God’s faithfulness!

In His compassions, God still preserves us; according to His lovingkindness, we are not consumed nor are we destroyed.

Rather, every morning we can enjoy His fresh compassions, and His lovingkindess is always there for us. God is faithful to His new covenant with us to not only cleanse us and wash us but also to save us to the uttermost, to sanctify us and preserve our entire being complete at the day of His return. Hallelujah!

God is faithful to His own word; God cannot deny Himself, for He can’t deny His nature and His being (2 Tim. 2:13).

In His faithfulness, God has called us into the fellowship of His Son, and He will keep us in this enjoyment of His Son because of His faithfulness.

In His faithfulness He will preserve our whole being complete unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Hallelujah, great is God’s faithfulness! His compassions do not fail – they are new every morning! Thank You God for being faithful to Your own word for You cannot deny Yourself. You are faithful to Your word to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we come to You to confess our sins. Hallelujah! Thank You for calling us into the fellowship of Christ, the enjoyment of the all-inclusive Christ, and thank You for being faithful to keep us in this participation in Christ! Thank You God for calling us and sanctifying us wholly; we believe that, according to Your faithfulness, You will preserve our entire being complete! Praise the Lord!

Contacting the Lord, Enjoying God as our unique Portion, and Hoping in Him

It is Jehovah’s lovingkindness that we are not consumed, for His compassions do not fail; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore I hope in Him. Jer. 3:22-24Jeremiah really broke through when he uttered the wonderful verses in Lam. 3:22-23, and he touched God’s compassions, His lovingkindness, and His faithfulness.

He concluded these verses by saying, Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore I hope in Him (v. 24). Such a word bears a New Testament flavor; he enjoyed God as his portion, and he put his hope not in himself nor in anything else but only in Jehovah.

This is something we all need to learn – not to hope in things, in human beings, in situations, or in any matters, but only in the Lord.

On one hand, we need to realize that God is a God of lovingkindness, and He is compassionate and also faithful to His word. On the other hand, we need to realize that we need to contact the Lord every morning, enjoy His lovingkindness, enjoy His compassions, and put our trust in Him.

When we contact the Lord every morning, we empty ourselves, we turn our heart to Him, and we enjoy His fresh and new compassions; His lovingkindness is ready for us to enjoy, and His mercies are new.

In our contact with the Lord we need to put our entire hope in Him, wait on Him, and call on His name.

Our time of having a morning revival can be spent by calling on the name of the Lord, reading and praying over His word, reading a spiritual nourishment portion, or singing; however, the most important part of our time with the Lord is to enjoy Him and contact Him!

If we don’t contact the Lord in the morning, we are not revived; but when we call on His name and contact Him, when we wait on Him, we touch Him, we enjoy God’s faithfulness and His compassions and lovingkindness.

An example of touching the Lord is in Psa. 73; here we see that the psalmist was utterly perplexed of the situation with the evil ones being prosperous while he, a faithful law-keeper and God-lover, was suffering and was being persecuted.

He was puzzled concerning this situation, and he realized that, if he were to ask others about it, they would be discouraged also; but when he entered into the sanctuary of God, his whole view changed.

My flesh and my heart fail, but God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever. Psa. 73:26When the psalmist entered into the sanctuary of God, he had a divine view and perception of his situation; his conclusion was that God was his portion forever (Psa. 73:17, 26).

We may also be puzzled concerning our situation, the suffering we go through, the injustice taking place to us and around us, and the persecution of the righteous while the ungodly prosper; but when we enter into the sanctuary of God, we receive the divine view of the things.

When we contact the Lord in our spirit and we come to the meetings of the church, we enter into the sanctuary of God; here we see the divine view of things, we realize the end of the evil ones, and we take God as our portion.

God is our unique portion: there’s nothing on earth or in heaven that we have but Him, and He is our only enjoyment.

God’s intention with us, His loving seekers, is that we would find everything in Him and not be distracted from the absolute enjoyment of Himself.

He may allow things to happen, but God’s faithfulness is with us – He is faithful to bring us back to the enjoyment of Himself as our unique portion.

May we come into the sanctuary of God by contacting the Lord in our spirit and by being in the meetings of the church, and may we simply take God as our unique portion, trusting in Him and hoping in Him.

Lord Jesus, we come to You to enjoy You; our hope is not in things, in people, or in matters this world – our hope and trust is only in You! You are our portion. We feed on God’s faithfulness and put our hope not in ourselves but in God. Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit to contact You and enjoy You; impart into us a divine view of things and give us the perception of the situation. Dear Lord, there’s nothing we desire on earth but You, and You are our unique portion! We want to enjoy You, we hope in You, and we trust in You!
