The Experience of the Cross bring us into a Deeper Fellowship in the Body of Christ

February 1, 2018 by aGodMan 11 Comments

Without the cross, our fellowship is superficial; only the cross can remove the many obstacles to the divine fellowship and deepen our fellowship with the Lord and with one another (Rom. 6:6; Gal. 2:20; Matt. 16:24). Fellowship frees us from our sinful self through the cross; without the cross, there is no release, freedom, or liberty from the self and no genuine fellowship (1 Cor. 1:9, 23-24; 2:2; Gal. 2:20). To bear the cross is to deny the self, to put the self to death, to apply the cross of Christ to the self all the time (Luke 9:23-25). The Genuine Church Life (2017 Thanksgiving Conference), outline 4

In order for us to deal with any obstacles to the fellowship, the circulation of the divine life, we need to experience the cross, for the experience of the cross deepens both the vertical and the horizontal fellowship, and it enables us to know the life of the Body and live in the fellowship of […]

The Experience of the Cross Tests us, Exposes us, and Allows God to Heal our Being

We are sick physically, psychologically, and also spiritually; there is bitterness in our body, soul, and spirit, and we need to apply the cross of Christ to every aspect of our being. As we experience the cross of Christ and live a crucified life, Christ’s resurrection life becomes our healing power, and the Lord becomes our Healer; both in our circumstances and in our being, bitterness is changed into sweetness. Witness Lee

After healing the bitter waters at Marah by showing Moses a tree which he cast into the waters, the Lord made a statute for the people of Israel and He revealed that He is their Healer. The people of Israel didn’t just encounter bitter waters but they were bitter in their being, and God was […]

the experience of the cross deepens both our horizontal and our vertical fellowship in the divine life

These days we are enjoying many portions in the Bible regarding the fellowship of the divine life, which is the fellowship of the Spirit, the fellowship of the apostles, and the fellowship in spirit. This fellowship has two aspects: the horizontal aspect (between us and the other believers) and the vertical aspect (between us and the Triune […]
