7 Major Items of the Excellent Virtues which are Filled with the Divine Attributes

June 27, 2016 by aGodMan 3 Comments

The highest morality is one in which divinity is added to our humanity; this is the divine attributes of God expressed in the created virtues of man; there are seven major items of these excellent virtues:

In serving the Lord in the spirit in the gospel of His Son, one of the most important items we need to take care of is our humanity. This week we are getting into the matter of, The Humanity of One who Serves the Lord, to see in the Lord’s light, through His word, and […]

Cooperating with the Inner Operating and Motivating God by Outwardly Serving Him

June 25, 2016 by aGodMan 1 Comment

The source of our service should be God, it should be the spirit, it should be God’s operation in us, and it should be the operation, direction, and leading of the Spirit of God in our spirit; only the service that comes out of these things is the service that is from God. Witness Lee

What is the service that is from God? What is the service that we can offer to God and is according to God’s desire, has God as its source, and is pleasing to God? The service that is from God takes God (and not ourselves) as the source, and it is by the Spirit of […]

Seeing the Two Different Sources of Service and Serving God from God by the Spirit

June 24, 2016 by aGodMan 1 Comment

If we serve outside of God, regardless of whether it is by our zeal or anything else, our service is not from God and therefore has no spiritual value. A service that is from God and has spiritual value must be one in which we are joined to God and in fellowship with Him by abiding in Him. Witness Lee

According to the divine revelation in the word of God, God the Father is the only legitimate Originator in the universe, and His Holy Spirit is the only legitimate Initiator in our hearts; our serving God is initiated by Him! In all spiritual work for God, only God Himself can be and should be the […]

As those who Serve the Lord we need to See that our Service must Originate from God

June 23, 2016 by aGodMan 1 Comment

Those who are sent by the Lord are often quite patient. When a person is doing his own work, he will be anxious for success, but if he is doing the Lord’s work, he will not be anxious, because it is the Lord’s business. If we want to determine whether a person’s work is of God or of himself, we only need to see if he is anxious in the work. If a person’s work is according to God’s sending, the sent one will not be anxious, and there will not be many opinions. Witness Lee

As those who love the Lord and desire to serve Him, we need to realize that it is God who should be the source and origin of our service and not us; our service must originate from God. We may desire to do many things for God, we may have the ability to carry them […]

God Wants only our Cooperation: we need to Stop Ourselves and Let God Speak and Work

June 22, 2016 by aGodMan 1 Comment

The unique prerequisite for receiving God’s revelation is, by dying, to stop our speaking, our opinion, our view, and our self (Gal. 2:20). In the matter of serving God, we must stop ourselves in order to give God the absolute opportunity to speak (Ezek. 1:25). Witness Lee

The Bible doesn’t give us a specific list of things we should do when serving God, but throughout the Bible we see a few important principles which we need to apply to our daily life for our cooperation with Him. One of these principles is that all our work and service in the church must […]

All our Service in the Church must be Initiated by God According to His Desire

June 21, 2016 by aGodMan 3 Comments

Anything that is initiated or started by man, regardless of how much it is for God, is a religious activity (Gal. 1:13-16). In God’s eyes this kind of activity is not His service or His work. In all our service we should have a regard for God and fear God; we should be fearful that what we are doing for God is not initiated by God but by ourselves. Witness Lee

In serving God we need to take Him as the source of all our service: God has to be the originator, initiator, operator, motivator, and source of our service; our service should be initiated by God. As believers in Christ we are sons of Abraham, who is the father of faith; like our father, we […]

God the Father is the only Originator and the Holy Spirit is the only Initiator

June 20, 2016 by aGodMan 1 Comment

God the Father is the only legitimate Originator in the universe, and His Holy Spirit is the only legitimate Initiator in our hearts (Gen. 1:1; Acts 13:2, 4). God must be the Originator of all spiritual work, and His will must govern the beginnings of all our service (Matt. 7:21-23). 2016 Spring ITERO, msg. 4

As believers in Christ we are saved by God and now we all serve Him; however, we need to be careful how we serve Him so that our service to Him would be pleasing and rewarded by Him. There are two kinds of service: the service for the building up of the church, and the […]
