In Psalm 110 we see the highest revelation of Christ – Christ is the King, the Warrior, the High Priest, the Victor, and the Drinker in His coming back! What a Christ!
In Matt. 22 the Herodians, the Pharisees, and the lawyers asked the Lord four questions related to fundamental belief, politics, authority, and the law.
They tried to ensare and trap the Lord – but His answers were stupendous, amazing, and marvelous! He muzzled their mouth – they had nothing else to ask Him. So then Christ asked them the Question of Questions,
What do you think concerning the Christ?
This is the Question of Questions, which every human being – whether a believer or not – needs to answer, What do YOU think concerning the Christ? And the Lord specifically asked – whose son is He?
According to the flesh – in His humanity, Christ is the Son of David, coming out of the lineage of David. But according to the Spirit – in His divinity, Christ is the Lord of David! The Lord of David became the Son of David, and in His resurrection He was made Lord and Christ! Now the Man Jesus is the Lord of all! What a Christ!
Right now, Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God – in Rev. 22:1-2 we see the throne of God and the Lamb. According to Rev. 21:23, the Lamb is the Lamp, and God is within Him as the light.
God as light is in the Lamb as the Lamp – the shining One, the redeeming One, the reigning One – and from the throne there’s a river proceeding out – He is the flowing One – along which there’s the tree of life – He is the Supplying One!
When we turn to the Lord, He is the Shining One, and He supplies us as the redeeming One (the reality of all the offerings), and he becomes the reigning and ruling One in us, the King in our being – and He flows in us! As He flows within us, He supplies us with Himself as the tree of life!
Christ entered into the Father and sat down there
Christ was driven by the Father as a peg into a sure place (Isa. 22:23) – in the third heaven! Christ is a peg driven into God, a sure place. On Christ as the peg we all are hanging as the bowls and the jars, the vessels in the house of God!
All the children of God are the vessels to contain water (for quenching people’s thirst) and wine (for giving people life, satisfaction, and enjoyment). We as vessels in God’s house are hanging on Christ, the peg driven into the Father!
Christ needs a footstool for His feet
Christ has already won the victory, He is at the right hand of God, waiting for His enemies to be made a footstool under His feet. Today we fight to subdue Christ’s enemies – by receiving the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness (Rom. 5:17).
By having an abundant enjoyment of the Triune God we reign in life over Satan, sin, and death! Grace reigns! We want the enjoyment of Christ to reign in our being – when grace reigns in us, the enjoyment of Christ restricts us and enthrones us to reign in life!
In Eph. 1:19-23 we see how Christ was raised from the dead, He was ascended to the heavens, all things were subjected under His feet, and He was given to be Head over all things to the church!
This fourfold power – resurrecting power, ascending power, subjecting power, and heading up power – is installed in our spirit! With this power the Father strengthens us into our spirit that we may allow Christ to make His home in our heart through faith! The way we fight the battle is by retreating into our spirit – here we have rest and here we win the battle!
Cooperating with the Lord by our willing consecration
Today we can cooperate with Christ in His heavenly ministry, as He is on His way to victory, by being the young men who offer themselves willingly in the day of His warfare, in the splendour of their consecration (Psa. 110:3).
Our willing consecration is our consent, our surrender to the Lord – our whole life and our whole being is for His economy and for His recovery! When we offer ourselves willingly to the Lord, in His eyes we are beautified with a divine heavenly splendour.
O, the joy of having nothing, seeing nothing, and caring for nothing but God’s interest here on earth!
The fullness of one’s experience of life depends on the fullness of one’s experience of consecration. The story of the gospel is that the Lord loved us and He gave Himself up for us; the story of Mary is that she loved the Lord and she poured out everything she had most valuable on Him.
This matches the book of Habakuk (clinging to, embracing) – God became a man to embrace us for our salvation so that we sinners might cling to Him in our consecration!
We need to consecrate ourselves to the Lord – consecrate our spirit to contact and receive the Lord, consecrate our soul to enjoy and express Him, and consecrate our body to glorify and magnify Him!
The motive, meaning, purpose, and result of consecration
What is the motive of our consecration? The sweetness, intention, and vitality of our consecration to the Lord is our love for Him!
The basis of our consecration is His purchase – He paid the highest price to purchase us back; but the motive of our consecration is the Lord’s love. Lord, constrain me with Your love! O, tide of love – flow in!
The meaning of consecration is to be a sacrifice, a burnt offering, for God’s satisfaction. When we take Christ as our burnt offering, we are identified with Him and we become food for God’s satisfaction!
The purpose of our consecration is to let God work in us first and then we can work for God. We stop, we let God operate in us both the willing and the working for His good pleasure, and then we can work for God!
The result of our consecration is that we abandon our future – our only future is God Himself. We become ashes – a big bull is burnt to ashes, which are sacred and precious to God (see Lev. 6).
What we are and do as a result of our consecration issues in the building up of the Body of Christ! To others it may seem we are just “ashes”, but God regards these ashes! These ashes become the New Jerusalem – Christ’s death brings us to ashes, and in His resurrection the ashes become gold, pearls, and precious stones!

I enjoyed the progression in this Psalm. How we must see Christ, how precious He is to the Father. How He delt with the enemy.
Only then we can be like Mary, and pour out our most valuable posession.
We must also be able to remember that we are just little bowls hanging on this Christ, pegged into the Father. But we are there for a purpose, even if just to cheer, to give life for satisfaction and enjoyment.

Without resurrection,whatever we do is vain.But in resurrection our labour in the Lord is not vain. Therefore,resurrection is not only an encouragement it also motivates us to the work of the Lord…..Amen!
