God is the Wise Architect and Builder of the New Jerusalem to Display His Wisdom

For he eagerly waited for the city which has the foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God. Heb. 11:10

God is a wise Architect and Builder who designs and builds the New Jerusalem to be a city full of the manifestation of God’s wisdom; He is building a spiritual entity for His corporate expression by working Himself into our being!

Hallelujah for our wise God who is making us His masterpiece, His church as the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem for the display of His wisdom to the whole universe!

There are many kinds of wisdom, some of which are the wisdom of the world, the fleshy wisdom, the wisdom that is earthy and soulish, and there is also the wisdom of God.

Any other wisdom besides God’s wisdom is not real wisdom but rather a foolishness; what seems to be wisdom in man’s eyes is actually foolishness, but the wisdom of God is real wisdom, even the wisdom that withstands the ages.

Wisdom is seen in initiating something and in the way of doing things; many times we may make the right decision, but the way we carry it out is wrong, even foolish.

For us to have wisdom humanly speaking means that we not only understand things but also do the right thing and in the right way, having insight and discernment.

The wisdom of God is Christ Himself; He is the first in everything, through Him all things came into being, He is the way, and He is everything to God in His economy.

When we look at the wisdom of God we cannot but react as Paul did in Rom. 11:33, Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God – how unfathomable the wisdom of God is!

Christ is the wisdom of God, and He is the mystery of God; all the riches of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ.

We cannot have wisdom and knowledge unless we have Christ. Praise the Lord, Christ is wisdom from God to us; He is being continually dispensed into us as we open our being to Him, and He becomes our wisdom as we are under the divine dispensing.

He is our wisdom for the past, for our present, and for the future; there is a constant transmission of Christ as wisdom from God to us, and as we remain under the divine dispensing, we become the church, the masterpiece of God.

The church is the masterpiece of God, and through the church, the multifarious wisdom of God will be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies.

Hallelujah, the whole universe – especially the evil rulers and authorities – will see the multifarious wisdom of God being displayed through the church!

The people whom Satan has ruined and corrupted were redeemed, regenerated, and transformed and glorified by God in His wisdom to be made His wise exhibition in the universe. Hallelujah!

And the consummation of the church is the New Jerusalem, a city full of wisdom that expresses God as the Architect and Builder of the holy city for eternity!

The New Jerusalem – the Ultimate Consummation of the church – will be full of Wisdom!

And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Rev. 21:2Heb. 11:10 says that Abraham eagerly waited for the city which has the foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God; this city is the New Jerusalem.

The New Jerusalem – the ultimate consummation of the church – will be full of wisdom, manifesting the wisdom of God to the whole universe.

God is the builder, the artificer, and the architect for this city; He is a skilful designer and a top craftsman.

The city that God designed and is building is not a physical city; rather, it is a spiritual entity composed of His people for His corporate expression!

Eph. 2:10 shows us that the church is God’s masterpiece; the Greek word for masterpiece is poiema, meaning something that has been written or composed as a poem.

Poetry expresses the wisdom of the writer; through the church as a poem written by Him, God makes known His multifarious wisdom (Eph. 3:10).

The consummation of the church is the New Jerusalem; this city will be full of wisdom. In His wisdom, God has designed this city, and the New Jerusalem will display His wisdom for eternity.

Some Christians think that the New Jerusalem is a physical city with literal precious stones, looking like a giant pyramid, and each one of us has our own condominium inside, with pearl gates and a crystal-clear river flowing in the middle of the street.

For us to say that the New Jerusalem is a physical city depreciates God’s wisdom and belittles Him as the eternal, wise Architect.

The book of Revelation is a book of signs, the greatest of which is the New Jerusalem; the New Jerusalem is a sign which signifies spiritual and divine things.

If we see this, if we realize that the New Jerusalem signifies spiritual and divine things, we will begin to see the wisdom of God in this city.

In His wisdom, He takes men of clay and transforms them into precious stones to be built together into a miraculous structure of treasure for the display of God’s infinite wisdom and amazing design.

God is a wise Designer and Craftsman who designed the city of New Jerusalem to be a full manifestation of His multifarious wisdom.

All these died in faith, not receiving the promises but seeing them from afar and joyfully greeting [them] and confessing that they were strangers and sojourners on the earth...But as it is, they long after a better [country,] that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them...For he eagerly waited for the city which has the foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God. Heb. 11:13, 16, 10In His wisdom, God constructs the New Jerusalem by dispensing Himself as the Architect and Builder into our being.

Hallelujah, the more we remain under the divine dispensing of the Triune God in Christ as the Spirit, the more we are transformed and built up to become the New Jerusalem for the corporate expression of God in the universe!

In His wisdom, God is gaining millions and millions of God-men to express Him corporately as the New Jerusalem.

It takes wisdom beyond description for God to design and build the New Jerusalem.

May we be saved from the fallen and religious concept of thinking that the New Jerusalem is a gigantic pyramid set on the earth with millions of cubicles inside, and may we see, praise, and adore God in His wisdom as He designs and builds the New Jerusalem!

And may we come to the Lord day by day to live with Him, opening our whole being to Him and turning our heart to be infused with Him as the very element of the holy city so that we may become, live out, and work out the New Jerusalem!

Praise You Lord for Your infinite wisdom and amazing design as expressed through the holy city, the New Jerusalem! Hallelujah, God is the Architect and Builder of the New Jerusalem, the city which has the foundations. We open to You, dear Lord, to receive and remain under Your divine dispensing. We turn our heart to You in faith and love; we come to You through the blood of Jesus Christ to enjoy Your divine dispensing. Make today a day of dispensing; dispense Yourself into us for Your goal, Your building. Amen, Lord, work Yourself into our being for the New Jerusalem, for You to gain Your corporate expression in the universe.

God is a Wise Architect and Builder who Designs and Builds the New Jerusalem to Manifest His Wisdom

But the Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother. Gal. 4:26 For we do not have here a remaining city, but we seek after the one to come. Heb. 13:14In this age what God wants to gain is the church, the precursor of the New Jerusalem; He is after gaining the masterpiece of God, the church, to manifest the multifarious wisdom of God.

But what God wants to gain for eternity is the holy city, the New Jerusalem, the city which has the foundations. God has designed and is currently in the process of building a spiritual entity for His corporate expression.

Many saints in the Old Testament yearned to see the city of God; they saw it from afar, longed for it, and waited for it (Heb. 11:13, 16, 10), but they didn’t get to see it.

Abraham sojourned in the land of promise as a pilgrim, even as an exile and expatriate, longing after a better country, a heavenly one (Heb. 11:16).

His descendants, Isaac and Jacob, followed him in the same steps; they lived on earth as strangers and sojourners and waiting for the God-built city with foundations.

The Triune God made a plan in eternity past, and throughout the centuries He has been carrying it out – this is His eternal economy.

As part of the carrying out of His economy, God the Son came through incarnation, lived on earth for thirty-three and a half years, died on the cross, was resurrected, and then ascended.

Since His ascension, the Spirit has been working out many wonderful things to regenerate man, renew man, transform man, and build man up so that man would become part of God’s corporate expression.

As the conclusion of all this, God will not build a physical city but a spiritual corporate entity for His redeemed people to live in.

God is the wise Architect and the Builder of the New Jerusalem; the holy city is the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22), the Jerusalem above (Gal. 4:26), the holy city, New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2; 3:12).

This city God has prepared for His people (Heb. 11:16) and this city is also the tabernacle of God in which God will dwell with men for eternity (Rev. 21:3).

Hebrews 11:10 indicates that God is the Architect and the Maker of the New Jerusalem. Referring to Abraham, this verse tells us, “He waited for the city which has the foundations, whose Architect and Maker is God.” This is “the city of the living God, heavenly Jerusalem” (Heb. 12:22), “the Jerusalem above” (Gal. 4:26), “the holy city, New Jerusalem” (Rev. 21:2; 3:12), which God has prepared for His people (Heb. 11:16), and the tabernacle of God in which God will dwell with men for eternity (Rev. 21:3). As the patriarchs waited for this city, so we also seek it (Heb. 13:14). Consider the New Jerusalem as it is revealed in the New Testament. Who other than God is capable of designing such a city? Only God as the supreme Architect is able to design it. The New Jerusalem was designed by the eternal, divine Architect. The Conclusion of the New Testament, p. 56, by Witness LeeOur forefathers in the Old Testament waited for this city, and we also seek it (Heb. 13:14). Only God is capable of designing such a city, and He as the supreme Architect designed it and is now building it.

The multifarious wisdom of God will be manifested through the church to all the heavenly powers, but this is not the highest point.

The highest point is not for man to defeat Satan and put him to shame; the consummation of God’s heart’s desire, the accomplishing of His will, is to have the New Jerusalem as the corporate counterpart of Christ filled with His wisdom.

This is the goal; this is where the divine dispensing of Christ as wisdom is bringing us, and this is what we are becoming.

May we from this point forward allow Christ to be wisdom to us from God so that we would personally grow into the maturity of wisdom, and corporately we would be built up to be the Body of Christ, the new man, and the bride of Christ to be the New Jerusalem!

Amen, the Lord as the wise Architect and master Builder will produce us as the New Jerusalem, and the enemy will be put to shame, the kingdom will come, and the new heaven and new earth with the New Jerusalem full of the wisdom of God will be manifested. Hallelujah!

Hallelujah, God is a wise Architect and Builder who designs and builds the New Jerusalem to be the manifestation of His multifarious wisdom for eternity! Amen, Lord, continue Your work in us and with us until we become the church as the masterpiece of God, the new man, the bride of Christ, and the New Jerusalem! We praise You, our wise God, for what You have begun in us by regenerating us, You will also carry out until the consummation! We are waiting for this city, Lord, the New Jerusalem, which city we are becoming to fully manifest God’s multifarious wisdom! Amen, Lord, do it in us and with us. Keep us under Your dispensing until the New Jerusalem will come in to express God corporately in the universe!
