Our Lord Jesus is the Author of our faith, and He is the Perfecter of our faith; He is the Originator of our faith, and He is the Completer of our faith, and when we look away unto Him, we are infused with Him as faith continually to run the race with endurance and finish our course.
Faith is not of ourselves – faith is of God in Christ; Christ Himself is our faith, and we have the ability to believe when we hear the word of faith and believe into the Lord.
Faith is a sixth sense to the believers – it is an ability infused by Christ into us by means of which we can substantiate God, an ability which makes the things concerning God and Christ real to us.
Unbelievers may wonder HOW and WHY can we believe into God, but we as believers have received something from Christ – Christ transfused Himself into us to become in us our believing ability, and the more time we spend with Him, the more we believe.
This faith, our ability to believe, is our organic union with the Lord, by means of which all that He is and has done is being made real to us for our enjoyment and experience.
But where is faith? Faith is not in our mind; rather, in our mind we have doubts, but in our spirit we have faith – we have a spirit of faith, and we believe!
What does it mean to believe? What is faith? Faith is simply to believe that God is; faith makes us pleasing to God, faith makes God happy, and when we believe, we believe that God is – and we are not.
To believe that God is means that we believe He is everything to us and that we are nothing. He is and we are not. This is the normal Christian life, as uttered by Paul in Gal. 2:20, No longer I but Christ.
Faith, the means by which we are brought into an organic union with God to enjoy all that God is, is that God is everything and we are nothing.
We are one with the Lord in faith, in spirit, and therefore we enjoy all that He is, and we ourselves remain on the cross – yet we live, but no longer in the self but in faith, in the organic union with the Triune God.
John Nelson Darby also once testified that it was a joy for him to be nothing, have nothing, and see nothing but a living Christ in glory, and to be careful for nothing but His interest here on earth.
Contacting the Living Lord to be Infused with Him as Faith and be Perfected in Faith
Jesus is the Author of faith, and He is also the Perfecter of faith; first He is the origin of our faith, infusing faith into us by His word, and then He makes sure this faith is perfected, completed.
Jesus is the Perfecter, the Finisher, the Completer, of our faith (see Heb. 12:2). He originated this faith within us, and He will never let it go; as the Completer of faith, Christ is continually infusing Himself into us as our believing element as we fellowship with Him, pray, meet with the saints in church meetings, listen to spiritual messages, pray-read the word, and read spiritual books.
As we cooperate with the Lord to place ourselves under the hearing of faith, exercising our spirit to receive His element, we are infused with Him continually, and His element is being increased in us so that we may be perfected in the faith.
Such faith brings us into an organic union with Christ, and as we daily spend time with the Lord and enjoy Him, our organic union with the Lord is increased. The increase of our organic union with Christ is the increase, the growth, of Christ within us.
How can we be perfected in faith? How can Christ be the Perfecter of faith to us? It is by us contacting the source of faith again and again.
When we contact the living God by calling on His name, praying to Him, and pray-reading His word (Heb. 4:16; Rom. 10:12; 2 Tim. 2:22; Eph. 6:17-18), we receive faith, and our faith increases.
Our faith doesn’t increase by us doing many things – it increases by our spending time with the Lord to have Him infused into our being.
As we go through the day and take care of the things of our daily life, we can simply talk to the Lord, open to Him, call on His name, or simply say, Amen, Lord! Thank You, Lord! Such opening to Him links us to God and imparts what God is into us; in this way we will have the living faith, which connects us to God.
We all have the same faith in quality, but the quantity of faith we have depends on how much we personally contact the living god so that we may have Him increased in us (Rom. 12:3). We are now in the progressing stage of our faith, in which we contact the Triune God, who is faith in us, to have Him increased in us (1 Thes. 5:17).
The way to receive faith is to contact its source – the Lord Himself, who is the processed and consummated Triune God – by calling on His name, praying to Him, and pray-reading His word.
When we contact the Lord, He is overflowing within us, and there is a mutuality of faith among us; when we come together, we are encouraged mutually through the faith that is in one another (see Rom. 1:12; Philem. 1:6).
When we come together and we all contact the Lord, we impart faith into each other, and our fellowship is of faith. Praise the Lord, our regenerated spirit – our spirit of faith – is the victory that overcomes the world that is organized and usurped by Satan (see 1 John 5:4; John 3:6; 2 Cor. 4:13; 1 John 5:18). Our victory is our faith, and when we exercise our spirit of faith, we are victorious.
The great irrepressible and unlimited power of faith motivated and motivates thousands of believers to suffer for the Lord, risk their lives, and become overcoming sent ones and martyrs for the carrying out of God’s eternal economy, which is in faith (see Luke 18:8; Phil. 2:20; Rom. 16:3-4; Acts 20:24; 1 Tim. 1:4; Heb. 12:3; cf. Judg. 8:4).
Lord Jesus, thank You for imparting Yourself as faith into us to cause us to be organically joined to You to enjoy and experience all that You are. Keep us connected to You, Lord, that we may receive Your infusing and transfusing moment-by-moment. We want to contact You again and again to experience You overflowing in us, filling us with faith and increasing in us as faith. Lord, may we experience You as the Perfecter of our faith. May we experience the great irrepressible and unlimited power of faith, being those who overcome by exercising our spirit of faith!
Looking away unto Jesus to be Infused with Him and Run the Heavenly Race and be Brought into Glory!
How can we become the same as Christ, our Elder Brother and the Firstborn Son of God? How can we run the race and win the prize? How can we be perfected in faith to become the same as Christ, the Pioneer and Forerunner?
There is only one way: by looking away unto Jesus to be infused with Him.
According to Heb. 12, for the joy set before Him, Jesus endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down on the right hand of the throne of God. He knew that, through His death He would be glorified in resurrection (Luke 24:25-26) and that His divine life will be released to produce many brothers for His corporate expression (John 12:23-24; Rom. 8:29).
Therefore, for the joy set before Him (John 16:20-22), Jesus despised the shame and volunteered to be delivered to the Satan-usurped leaders of the Jews and Gentiles, to be condemned by them to death.
Because He was willing to do this, God highly exalted Him at His right hand (see Mark. 16:19; Acts 2:33-35), gave Him the name above every name (Phil. 3:9-10), made Him both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36), and crowned Him with glory and honor (Heb. 2:9).
By His death and resurrection He accomplished everything that is needed by both God and man. Now in His ascension He is sitting in the heavens, in the person of the Son of God (Heb. 1:5) and the Son of Man (2:6), in the person of God (1:8) and man (2:6), as the appointed Heir of all things (1:2), the anointed One of God (v. 9), the Author of our salvation (2:10), the Sanctifier (v. 11), the constant Succor (v. 16), the instant Helper (4:16), the Apostle from God (3:1), the High Priest (2:17; 4:14; 7:26), the Minister of the true tabernacle (8:2) with a more excellent ministry (v. 6), the surety and the Mediator of a better covenant (7:22; 8:6; 12:24), the Executor of the new testament (9:16-17), the Forerunner (6:20), the Author and Perfecter of faith (12:2), and the great Shepherd of the sheep (13:20). If we look to Him as such a wonderful and all-inclusive One, He will minister heaven, life, and strength to us, transfusing and infusing us with all that He is, that we may be able to run the heavenly race and live the heavenly life on earth. In this way He will carry us through all the lifelong pathway and lead and bring us into glory (2:10). (The Conclusion of the New Testament, pp. 3832-3833, by Witness Lee)
Wow! It is amazing to look away unto Jesus, the One who originated faith in us, the One who is perfecting us in faith, and the One who will complete faith in us.
The more we look away unto Him, as such a wonderful One, the more He ministers heaven, life, and strength into us, that is, the more He infuses us with Himself to be our faith so that we may run the race with endurance and live a heavenly life on earth.
How can we run the race? It is by looking away unto Jesus to be infused with Him as our faith and thus run the race.
How can we be perfected in faith? It is by looking away unto Jesus. How can we be brought into glory, just as the Lord Jesus was brought into glory?
It is by looking away unto Jesus with an unveiled face, so that we may be transformed into His glorious image from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:18).
Oh, may we learn to look away unto Him so that we may run the heavenly race, live a heavenly life on earth, and be led by Him into glory!
Lord Jesus, we look away unto You to be infused with all that You are so that we may be able to run the heavenly race and live the heavenly life on earth. Transfuse Yourself into us more today, Lord, so that we may be carried by You through all the lifelong pathway and be led by You into glory! Amen! We look away from anything and anyone else unto You, the most wonderful and all-inclusive One. Lord Jesus, You made it into glory, and now You’re infusing Yourself into us so that by faith and in faith we would be brought all the way unto glory. Amen, we look away unto You!

Faith is simply the Lord Jesus Christ. He is not only the Author, the Originator, of faith but also the Perfecter, the Finisher, of faith. He will finish what He originated; He will complete what He inaugurated. If we look to Him continually, He will finish and complete the faith that we need for the running of the heavenly race. Once Christ has originated this faith within us, He will never let it go….As the Completer of faith, He is continually infused into us as the believing element and ability when we pray to the Lord, fellowship with Him, pray over the Bible, attend church meetings, listen to spiritual messages, and read spiritual books. Hence, our faith in Jesus Christ comes from Him; in fact, it is Christ Himself continually infused into us. Such faith brings us into an organic union with Christ; it also continually increases this organic union. The increase of our organic union with Him is the increase, the growth, of Christ within us….This is our faith being perfected by the Lord.
