Coming to the Lord in His Word to make Direct Contact with Jesus in the Morning

July 21, 2017 by Guest God-man Blogger 1 Comment

Coming to the Lord in His Word to make Direct Contact with Jesus in the MorningOne of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in my experience and from more mature brothers regarding our morning time with the Lord is that in this time our emotions are really of no consequence. If we come to the Lord expecting to feel a particular way then we have missed the mark.

We have to come to the Lord in His Word, in prayer or in a song simply to touch Him. This is the way to make direct contact with Jesus in the morning. Seeking any kind of particular feeling will lead us astray.

Another valuable matter has been seeing how much more fruitful my morning time is when I slow down and read the Word. It’s easy to get excited about different things, but slowing down and touching Him in His Word (especially by praying the Word) is priceless and very effective.

When preparing for the Lord’s Day, I like to view the outline top down, meaning I gather the flow of the Roman numerals and then the subpoints under them. I also am sure to read all the verses so I have several verses to speak on the Lord’s Day. I also try to write down a crystal from each day in the HWMR.

Usually, I let that day’s portion “marinate in me” and I write its crystal the following morning. Then, when it’s time to prepare something to speak, the pegs in which you hang your prophecy are there, now you just need to fill the gaps.

Sharing by bro. Bob F. (Omaha, Nebraska, USA) from his experience  and enjoyment in his morning time with the Lord.
