Hallelujah for our wonderful Christ as typified in Leviticus and revealed in the book of Hebrews! He is our merciful, faithful, and great High Priest, our Forerunner, the Surety of a better covenant, the High Priest who is able to save us to the uttermost, and the Minister in the heavens. What a Christ!
In creation He is the Creator, the Upholder, and the Heir of all things. He’s the One who created all things, all things came into being through Him as the active instrument, and all things were created in Him, and unto Him.
In the present, Jesus Christ as the Son of God upholds all things by the word of His power, and all things cohere in Him. Without Him upholding us, we have no being and nothing can have existence. In the future, He will inherit all things.
This great Creator came to be our Savior, and in the fullness of time He put on humanity, was born of a virgin, and He destroyed the devil through His death on the cross. Through such an all-terminating death, Christ became the reality of all the offerings, and we can apply Him today because He is eternally effective.
Furthermore, Christ is the Author, the Captain of our salvation, leading us as the many sons of God into glory. He took the lead to enter into glory and now we follow Him into the same glory, which was ordained by God for us.
God wants not only to save us from eternal perdition, but to bring us all the way into the full expression of Himself, and for this He called us into His own kingdom and glory.
Christ is the Apostle sent by God to us with God’s speaking and message, and He’s also the Builder of God’s house.
Moses was faithful to God in His house but he couldn’t build God’s house. But Christ, the real Apostle sent by God, came with divinity and humanity, and He speaks the word of God and builds the house of God.
In His humanity Christ is the very material for God’s house, His building, and in His divinity Christ is the builder of God’s house. Hallelujah! He’s much superior to Moses, and He is qualified to both build the house of God and be the element of God’s house. What a Christ!
Because of His humanity, Christ can be the material for God’s building, and because He has divinity, He can build the house of God.
Christ is the Merciful, Faithful, and Great High Priest
As revealed in the book of Hebrews, our Christ is the merciful, faithful, and great High Priest (2:17; 3:1; 4:14-15; 5:5, 10; 6:20; 7:26—8:1).
He’s not just the Apostle who came from God to bring God to man but He’s also the High Priest who brings man to God.
He has two natures – the divine and the human nature – and so He can be a merciful High Priest and also a faithful High Priest. Christ is able to be a merciful High Priest because He’s both the Son of God with divinity and the Son of Man with humanity (Heb. 1:8; 2:5-18).
As the Son of Man with humanity, Christ is a merciful High Priest who could offer Himself as a sacrifice for sin, He can sympathize with us, and He can be touched with the feeling of our weakness.
As the Son of God with divinity Christ is a faithful High Priest, being qualified to be faithful to carry out what He already accomplished for us.
As a man, He is merciful, and as God, He is faithful.
As our great High Priest, Christ is great in His person, in His work, and in His attainment; He has passed through the heavens, and He sympathizes with our weaknesses (see Heb. 4:14-15). What a great High Priest we have!
This One is Jesus, the Son of God, with divinity and humanity, who is merciful toward us and faithful toward God.
He is great in His person – He’s divine and human. He’s great in His work – He accomplished purification of sin, He tasted death on our behalf, He destroyed the devil, He sprinkled the blood, and He accomplished an eternal redemption for us.
He is great in His attainments – He entered into the heavenly Holy of Holies, He is our Mediator, He’s the Minister of the heavenly tabernacle, and He is crowned with glory and honor. What a wonderful High Priest we have!
We can’t see this in Leviticus, but in Hebrews Paul expounded this for us see what a great High Priest we have.
Thank You Lord for being our Merciful, Faithful, and Great High Priest! You possess humanity and You can sympathize with us, being touched by the feeling of our weaknesses. Thank You for Your mercy on us. You are divine and so You can be faithful to accomplish what You have promise. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Lord, You are our great High Priest – You are so great in Your attainment, Your person, and Your work. We praise You, Lord, and we open to You as such a High Priest!
Christ is our Forerunner who Entered within the Veil, and we Follow Him!
Christ is the Forerunner – He has entered within the veil (Heb. 6:19-20), and we follow Him there!
He is our High Priest, He’s our Forerunner who entered within the veil in the Holy of Holies, paving the way for us also to enter in.
He didn’t go there all by Himself – He is the Pioneer, entering the veil, and now He calls us and charges us to come forward and go within the veil with Him! The heavens where the Lord entered are today the Holy of Holies within the veil.
The Lord Jesus as our Forerunner took the lead to pass through the stormy sea and enter into the heavenly haven to be the High Priest for us according to the order of Melchizedek. What a Christ!
He entered into the heavenly tabernacle, which is the real tabernacle, and He went all the way into the heavenly Holy of Holies.
After accomplishing redemption, Christ entered into the heavenly Holy of Holies, the true tabernacle, and here He’s our Minister, our High Priest ministering the heavens to us! Hallelujah!
We must learn to follow Him as our Forerunner, as the Pioneer. He’s the Author of our salvation (Heb. 2:10), and He cut the way to glory, entered into glory, and now we follow Him!
Christ is the Surety and Guarantee of a Better Covenant
In Heb. 7:22 we see that Christ is the surety of a better covenant; He pledged Himself to the new covenant and to all of us.
The word for surety here is “limb”, like the limb as a member of our body. He pledged the better covenant to us just as our hand pledges to the arm that it will do whatever the arm tells him to do.
Christ is our organic surety of a better covenant, and He pledged Himself to us to bring us there.
Christ is the Bondsman, the guarantee, that He will do everything necessary for the fulfilment of the new covenant! Hallelujah!
At the store we may get a lifetime warranty for the products we buy, but this warranty expires when the store closes. However, Christ Himself is our true lifetime guarantee for the new covenant!
What a High Priest we have! He didn’t just offer Himself but He became the guarantee and surety that we all will get into glory with Him!
Thank You Lord for becoming the surety and guarantee of the new covenant, the better covenant! Thank You for pledging Yourself to the new covenant and to us that You will do and be to us what You have promised! Lord, we believe into You, and we hold You to Your word. Apply all the benefits and blessings of the new covenant to us, as You have promised! We give ourselves to You, Lord, that You will do whatever is necessary for the new covenant to be fulfilled!
Christ is the Divine High Priest who is Able to Save us to the Uttermost
What a rich Christ we have! He is a High Priest according to the order of Aaron to make propitiation for our sins; He is a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek to minister the processed Triune God into us.
He is also a High Priest according to the order of God’s divine and indestructible life to save us to the uttermost, to perfection, to glory!
Because of sin there are the by-products of sin such as death, corruption, and decay, so we need to be saved from these.
We are saved from sin and sins by Christ as the sin and trespass offering, and He as our High Priest according to the power of God’s indestructible life is able to save us to the uttermost!
Christ is the High Priest who is able to save us completely, entirely, perfectly, for all time, and for eternity to the end!
He as our High Priest undertakes our case by interceding for us. He is a perpetual, constant, and eternal Intercessor, and He always lives to intercede for us. Even right now, whatever we are doing and wherever we are, Christ intercedes for us and thus He’s saving us constantly, unceasingly.
He pledged to save us to the uttermost!
Christ appears before God on our behalf and prays for us that we may be saved and brought fully into God’s eternal purpose.
We cannot save ourselves, and many times we don’t cooperate with the Lord; if it were not for His pledging to save us to the uttermost, we would be lost and strewn aside. But praise the Lord, our perpetual Intercessor is saving us to the uttermost little by little, day by day!
Lord Jesus, You are able to save us to the uttermost by Your life-giving Spirit! Praise the Lord! You are our High Priest according to the order of God’s divine, indestructible life, and You pledged to save us to perfection and to glory! Thank You Lord for undertaking our case by interceding for us. Thank You for appearing before God on our behalf and praying for us that we may be saved and brought fully into God’s eternal purpose!
Christ is the Minister in the Heavens and we Enjoy His Transmission in Spirit
Christ is the Minister in the heavens (Heb. 8:1-2) – He ministers heaven into us so that we may have the heavenly life and power to live a heavenly life on earth, even as He did while He was here.
As a Minister of the true and heavenly tabernacle, Christ ministers the condition of life in heaven into us so that we may live the same kind of life on earth today.
He is a servant in the heavenly tabernacle; as such a Minister Christ is supplying and serving us heavens – not as a place but as a condition.
As we pass through the challenges in our daily life, we need to remember that we have a High Priest in the heavens ministering there, and this One ministers heavens to us so that we may live a heavenly life on earth.
Whatever Christ carries out as the heavenly Minister, He applies to us as the Spirit; whatever He ministers is transmitted into our spirit (1 Cor. 6:17). We are joined to the Lord as one spirit, and the heavenly tabernacle is connected to our spirit by means of Christ as the heavenly ladder.
Whatever is going on in the heavens is transmitted instantly in our spirit. Whenever we call on the name of the Lord, we are touching the heavens and we receive the divine transmission of all that Christ is into our spirit.
Christ is “televising” the “scenery” in the heavens into our spirit. He is in the Heavens ministering, and whenever we turn to our spirit, what is in the heavens is immediately transmitted into our spirit. Hallelujah!
By such a transmission we can live a heavenly life on earth, the repetition of the life of Jesus!
Thank You Lord for being our heavenly Minister who ministers heaven into us so that we may live a heavenly life on earth! It is only by Your transmission that we can have the heavenly life and power to live the same kind of life that You did while You were here. Hallelujah, we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, and in our spirit we can receive the divine transmission from the heavenly tabernacle! Praise the Lord! Amen, Lord, keep us under the divine transmission daily!
