Christ is our Forerunner, the heavenly Minister, and the Surety and Mediator of a better covenant!

Christ as the all-inclusive One is our Forerunner (Heb. 6:20) – He is the Pioneer, the One who has cut the way into glory to enter within the veil. All the believers in Christ are running in God’s race, and the man Jesus Christ is our Forerunner in this race – He has run the race and became the first One to reach the goal!

We need to enjoy Him and experience Him as our Forerunner and follow Him to run the race! He is the pattern, the example, the model of a man who has entered into God’s glory (Luke 24:26; 1 Pet. 1:11). What a pattern and a Forerunner we have!

Even more, Christ is the “Minister of the holy places” (Heb. 8:2) – Christ is a minister of the true and heavenly tabernacle, ministering heaven into us! Heaven here is not a place but a condition of life – Christ as the Heavenly Minister ministers the heaven into us so that we may have the heavenly life and power to live a heavenly life on earth (even as He did when He was here)!

As the Minister, Christ is in the heavenly Holy of Holies – and the Holy of Holies is connected to our spirit! Christ’s ministry in the heavens takes care of our need – from the heavens, Christ ministers Himself to us as our life supply by dispensing Himself into us.

As Christ ministers to us and takes care of our needs, He carries out God’s economy. How wonderful this is – the Lord in the heavens and the Spirit in our spirit are one, and there’s a continual transmission going on between the heavens and our spirit! Whatever is taking place and is accomplished in the heavens is immediately applied to us in our mingled spirit!

What a Christ, and what a rich function He has as the Heavenly Minister! The all-inclusive Christ as the heavenly Minister transmits all that we need from God the Father – who is the source – into our spirit so that we may be supplied and sustained to live and carry out God’s economy!

Also, according to Heb. 7:22 Christ is the surety of a better covenant – He is not only the consummator of the new covenant, but He is also making sure that everything in the new covenant is being applied to us and given to us!

Christ “pledged Himself” to the new covenant and to us – and there’s no way that He changes His mind! He promised with an oath that He will carry out the new covenant and now He is “the Mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted upon better promises” (Heb. 8:6).

The new covenant is so much better than the old covenant – it was enacted upon better promises of the better law, the inner law of life (Heb. 8:11-12), and it was consummated with Christ’s better sacrifices (Heb. 9:23) which accomplished for us an eternal redemption (Heb. 9:12), and the better blood of Christ which purifies our conscience (Heb. 9:14)!

Christ is the High Priest ministering such better covenant – He as the Son of the living God ministers with a more excellent ministry in the heavenly and greater tabernacle!

All that God has and is, all that Christ has done and accomplished, and all that the Spirit can do to transform and conform us – all the Triune God has, is, and has done is covenanted to us to be our enjoyment and our portion! And Christ makes sure this is happening – He is the Mediator and the Surety of this better new covenant! What a Christ we have!

Lord, we just want to follow You as our Forerunner! You have finished the race and entered into glory! We just follow You in this race, going through the same process, until we enter into the same glory as You! Thank You for being the heavenly Minister – dispensing heaven into us! How we need Your dispensing every day – to be supplied and strengthened to live a heavenly life on earth! Praise You, Lord, for being the Surety and the Mediator of a better covenant! We can now enjoy all that the Triune God has and is – as our inheritance! Amen, Lord, we love You as such an all-inclusive One!
