The Lord Jesus has already won the battle – He has won the victory, and now our work as the church on earth is to maintain Christ’s victory. Hallelujah, the victory has been won, and we can apply it, stand in it, proclaim it, and make it real to the enemy wherever we are and wherever we go!
In Numbers we see a glimpse of the spiritual warfare that takes place behind the scenes – the fighting of the children of Israel against the Canaanites that they may possess and enjoy the good land typifies the spiritual warfare of the church against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.
Christ as our all-inclusive good land has been allotted to us, and we can enjoy Him, possess Him, and partake of Him; however, between us and the good land there’s a layer of devilish forces that keep us from enjoying this wonderful One.
Therefore, the church needs to war the spiritual warfare standing in the victory of Christ and proclaiming this victory so that the enemy would be defeated, put to shame, and removed, and the saints would enter into the enjoyment of Christ.
God wants us to gain Christ as our good land; for us to take possession of Christ and enjoy Him as the all-inclusive One, we must defeat the satanic forces in the heavenlies.
So we need to give ourselves to the Lord and to the Body to be trained to be those in the army of God fighting for God’s interest on earth.
There’s a real spiritual warfare in which we must engage; the church is a corporate warrior fighting the battle to gain the all-inclusive Christ.
In order for all the saints to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ and experience Him, there has to be spiritual warfare; there has to be the church standing in the victory of Christ, proclaiming His victory, and applying His victory, so that the saints may gain Christ.
We pray and we stand one with the Lord for all the saints to enjoy the all-inclusive Christ, and we stand in the Lord’s victory for the establishing and the spreading of the kingdom of God, so that the Lord may return to inherit the earth.
We are aware that the many aspects of our natural life can be used by the enemy to become a hindrance to our entering into the enjoyment of Christ, and we realize that there are some people who can be used by the enemy to keep us out of the enjoyment; furthermore, there are the spiritual forces in the heavenlies, the evil principalities, who hinder us from enjoying this One.
So we fight the spiritual warfare in the Body and in Christ’s victory!
Christ has already won the Battle: He has Defeated, Destroyed, and Openly Shamed the Devil!
When the Lord Jesus was on earth, He as the first God-man defeated Satan and has won the battle.
From the very time He was born there was a spiritual warfare going on, and the enemy attacked Him, tempted Him, persecuted Him, and criticized Him, culminating with putting Him on the cross to terminate Him.
But praise the Lord, the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8); wherever He went, whatever He did, and whatever He said, He did it to undo and destroy the works of the devil.
The devil bound so many people, ruined their lives, caused them to be sick, and brought them into the bondage of sin, so the Lord destroyed the works of the devil! Amen!
And today we can simply apply this by telling the Lord, Lord, manifest Yourself and destroy in us the works of the devil!
As a man, Christ defeated Satan during the temptation in the wilderness (Matt. 4:1-11); He stood on the ground of being a man, and as man He defeated the tempter.
Through death the Lord destroyed the devil, who has the might of death, abolishing Satan and bringing him to naught (Heb. 2:14; 1 Cor. 1:28).
When Satan put Christ on the cross and killed Him, he though that he did away with Him and terminated Him, but the Lord destroyed the devil through His death, He took the keys of death and Hades from him, and He abolished Satan and brought him to naught.
Even more, in Revelation we see that the apostle John saw Satan, the devil, in the lake of fire, and he also saw the New Jerusalem; in God’s eyes all believers in Christ are already part of the New Jerusalem, and Satan has been cast into the lake of fire.
We can apply this by exercising our spirit of faith and telling Satan,
Satan, you have been destroyed! You have been reduced to nothing! Our Lord Jesus has defeated you, and we can testify to you right now that you have been crushed and we are becoming the New Jerusalem while you are in the lake of fire! It is finished, it is done! Enemy, you are the biggest loser in the universe. Jesus the Nazarene destroyed you, and the God of peace will soon crush you under our feet! Praise the Lord!
God openly shamed the evil angels, triumphing over them in the cross of Christ (Col. 2:15); through the cross God put the evil angels to open shame, and Christ triumphed over them through His cross.
The effect of Christ’s crucifixion was that the base of Satan’s rebellion was shaken, that the strongholds of Satan’s earthly kingdom were broken, and that the power of death and Hades was conquered and subdued (Matt. 27:51-52).
When Christ died, the earth was shaken; this signifies that the base of Satan’s rebellion was shaken. The rocks were split, signifying that the strongholds of Satan’s earthly kingdom were broken.
The tombs were opened, signifying that the power of death and Hades was conquered and subdued.
Then, in the Spirit of His divinity, Christ proclaimed to the evil spirits in the abyss His victory over Satan on the cross (1 Pet. 3:18-20).
Hallelujah for the victory of Christ over Satan!
Praise You Lord Jesus for Your victory over Satan! Hallelujah, the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil and, as a Man, He defeated Satan in everything and in every way! Praise the Lord, through death the Lord Jesus destroyed the devil and abolished Satan, bringing him to naught! Hallelujah, Jesus the Nazarene, a man, has destroyed Satan, and soon the God of peace will crush Satan under our feet! Praise the Lord, God openly shamed the evil angels, triumphing over them in the cross of Christ! Hallelujah, Christ is victor!
Christ has Won the Battle, and the Church Stands in and Maintains Christ’s Victory
Praise the Lord, the Lord Jesus has already won the battle, and the work of the church on earth is to maintain Christ’s victory (Heb. 2:14; Col. 1:15; 1 John 3:8).
Our spiritual warfare is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual beings dwelling in the air; our standing is in the victory of Christ, and we do not attack but rather stand in victory, for the Lord has already fought the battle and the victory has been won!
As the church, we are here to maintain Christ’s victory; there’s no need to attack – we simply guard this victory and maintain it.
We trust in the Lord, we stand in His victory, and we don’t hope to win the victory but rather stand in Christ’s victory and proclaim it!
In the conflict between God’s authority and Satan’s power, the church stands for God and gives no ground to Satan.
For us to do such a work as the church, we need to deal with all our sins and unrighteousness, we need to have a thorough and fresh consecration to the Lord, we need to cooperate with the Lord to put our soul-life to death, and we need to abandon our natural man.
What we are in the flesh has no use in spiritual warfare, for our self cannot resist Satan; the fiery darts of Satan can penetrate our flesh, but praise God, we can put on Christ – the One who has won the victory!
As the Body of Christ, we are learning to work together with God, being concerned for God’s need, and share in the victory of Christ! When we display the victory of the Lord Jesus, Satan must leave.
When we stand steadfast in Christ’s victory, declaring that Christ has won the battle, the enemy must flee. Our responsibility as the church is to stand in Christ’s victory, maintain Christ’s victory, and execute Christ’s sentence on the devil.
Hallelujah! The overcomers – the mighty ones – realize that spiritual warfare is based on the victory of Christ (Joel 3:33; John 12:31; Rev. 5:5).
Our starting point in spiritual warfare is standing upon the victory of Christ (Eph. 6:11, 13), realizing that Christ has already overcome (Rev. 3:21).
Now we as the church are on earth to perpetuate and manifest Christ’s victory over Satan (Eph. 6:13; Rev. 12:11).
So we remain in the Body, realizing that we need the Body and our victory is in the Body, and we fight Satan in the Body.
Only one kind of people can engage in spiritual warfare – those who not only are saved but also have been raised from death and are seated with Christ in the heavens; they are in ascension, in a transcendent position in the heavens, and when they engage in spiritual warfare, they stand in ascension, in the Body, proclaiming and maintaining Christ’s victory.
As those who see God’s need and engage in spiritual warfare, we need to know the Body, know ascension, and reign in life.
We realise that Christ has won the battle, and as the church we stand in His victory and maintain His victory; so we seek to know the Body, know and remain in ascension, and reign in life! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah, the Lord Jesus has already won the battle, and our work as the church on earth is to maintain Christ’s victory! Amen, Lord, may we realize that spiritual warfare is based on the victory of Christ, for in ourselves we cannot defeat the enemy but Christ has already defeated him! Amen! We come to You, Lord, and deal with all our sins and unrighteousness, we consecrate ourselves to You thoroughly, we put our soul-life to death, and we abandon our natural man. We want to know the Body, know and remain in ascension, and reign in life. Hallelujah, the victory has been won, and we as the church maintain Christ’s victory and proclaim it!
