We love the Lord by Setting our Entire Being on Him in the Divine and Holy Romance

And you shall love the Lord your God from your whole heart and from your whole soul and from your whole mind and from your whole strength. Mark 12:30

The Bible is a romance – in the most pure and holy sense – of a universal couple; God is a lover, He created us in His image to love Him, and we need to love the Lord by setting our whole being on Him and allowing Him to occupy and possess us. Amen, Lord Jesus, we love You!

This week in our morning revival, we come to a new book entitled, The Preparation of the Bride, based on the fellowship given in the 2025 Memorial Day Blending Conference.

In particular this first week we want to focus on the Bride – the Goal of the Lord’s Recovery.

Today, the Lord wants to prepare His bride; He wants every member of the Body of Christ to be gained by Him and prepared to be part of the bride of Christ.

We are those who have the desire to be part of the bride that the Lord is coming for in a secret way, so that we may marry Him and live an eternal life of marriage with Him.

We want to be there next age, at the wedding feast with Him, reigning with Him and enjoying Him.

For this, however, we need to cooperate with the Lord to be prepared as the bride of Christ.

We have to admit that today we are not yet rapture-ready. But we want to give the Lord our best cooperation, even love Him with the best love, so that we may be prepared as the bride.

May we be willing to allow the Lord to shine in us and show us exactly where we are in our progress in the experience of life. We need to arrive at a consciousness of the Body, passing through the stage where we apply the cross in a thorough way to the flesh, the self, and the natural constitution.

As members of the Body, we cannot live without the Body.

We don’t just talk about the Body, but we have the consciousness of the Body, being open to the Lord as an open vessel to tell Him that we need His mercy day by day that we may live in the Body and for the Body.

And we want to be part of the bride, even making ourselves ready for the Lord’s return. Oh, how we yearn to hear the cry in Revelation 19:7, The wife has made herself ready!

This is a corporate matter, and together we need to make ourselves ready for the Lord’s return.

Personally, we need to no longer hold the Lord back but open every part of our being to Him. And together, we are learning to be built up together, for we grow in life personally and we’re built up together for the building up of the church.

May we be those who let the Lord shepherd us to go on with Him day by day, both personally and corporately, so that we may contribute to the preparation of the bride, and we would be part of the prepared bride at the time of the Lord’s return!

The Bible is a Divine and Holy Romance: God Loves us and we Love God, He’s the Husband and we’re His Wife!

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! / For your love is better than wine. Your anointing oils have a pleasant fragrance; / Your name is like ointment poured forth; / Therefore the virgins love you. Song of Songs 1:2-3

The Bible is a wonderful book showing us, in its deepest thought, that God loves man and wants to enter into a love relationship with man.

The Bible is divine and holy romance, in the most pure and the most holy sense, of a universal couple – God in Christ as the Bridegroom and God’s redeemed people as the bride (John 3:29; Matt. 25:6; Rev. 19:7; 21:2; 22:17).

The male in this universal couple is God Himself who went through a long process to be Christ as the Bridegroom. The female in this couple is a corporate human being, even the body of God’s redeemed people, including all the saints of the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Return, O apostate children, declares Jehovah, for I am a Husband to you; and I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and will bring you to Zion. Jer. 3:14 For your Maker is your Husband; / Jehovah of hosts is His name. / And the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; / He is called the God of all the earth. Isa. 54:5We are also going through a process in order to become a corporate person, the New Jerusalem as the bride. This holy romance is revealed both in the Old and in the New Testament.

Throughout the centuries, God has had a romance with man; He created man with the purpose of having a counterpart (Gen. 1:26). God is a lover, and He created man in the image of Himself as a lover; God created us so that we may love Him (Mark 12:30; Eph. 3:14-19).

If we carefully read the Old Testament, we can see that God referred to Himself many times as the Husband and to His people as His wife (Isa. 54:5; 62:5; Jer. 2:2; 3:1, 14; 31:32; Ezek. 16:8; 23:5; Hosea 2:7, 19).

Many Christians today, ourselves included, think of God as the Almighty One who needs to be worshipped and served, and this is true – we need to worship God and serve Him.

But there is also the aspect of God being a Lover – He is our Husband and we are His wife. When we believed into the Lord Jesus, we entered into a love relationship with Him. God loves us, and He sent His only begotten Son to come and die for us (John 3:16).

He wants us to love Him. God is a lover, and He created us in His image so that we may love Him.

We believers in Christ can testify that we are satisfied when we love the Lord. When we touch His love and when we love Him back, we are fully content.

In married life, it would be silly for a wife to merely try to serve her husband and worship him, without hugging him and even giving him a kiss.

The married life, the relationship between a husband and a wife, shows us a picture of our relationship with the Lord, in the most pure and holy sense.

We have entered into a divine and holy romance when we believed into the Lord Jesus, and now we are learning to love the Lord.

On the one hand, we need to worship God and serve Him, for He is the almighty One and there’s no other God beside Him. On the other hand, God wants us to just love Him.

The entire Bible is a romance, and the Song of Songs in particular is an abridged form of this romance (see Song of Songs 1:2-3; 8:14).

If we read this book in a prayerful way, considering our relationship with the Lord in His light as we read it, we will be filled with love toward Him.

We need to realise that, if there’s no romance between us and the Lord Jesus, then we’re religious Christians, not romantic Christians (Song of Songs 1:2-3).

We may be religious Christians, not romantic Christians, and we may not even realise it; it is easy to fall from loving the Lord to being a religious Christian.

We need the Lord’s enlightening and exposing so we may come back to Him and just love Him. The Bible is a romantic book, and our relationship with the Lord should become more and more romantic.

But at midnight there was a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Go forth to meet him! Matt. 25:6 Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. Rev. 19:7May we start where we are and just love the Lord, giving ourselves to Him and allowing Him to shepherd us into loving Him more. Romance is a word of the divine courthship; in the Bible we see that God is seeking our love (2 Cor. 11:2).

Through repenting and believing into the Lord Jesus, we were betrothed to Him as our Husband; we are in a divine and holy romance today.

Day by day we are learning to love Him more and open to Him, even allowing Him to prepare us and make us ready to be His bride.

Song of Songs is more than a romance – it is a fantastic romance. It is a divine and holy romance showing us our love relationship with the Lord. He is our Husband.

We are His bride, His wife. We love Him. We want Him to kiss us with the kisses of His mouth, for His love is sweeter than wine. We want Him to draw us, and we will run after Him.

We don’t want to just know Him or see Him do this or that for us; we want Him, His very person, for He is so lovely and attractive. As we spend time with Him in His word, He becomes the most wonderful and lovable One to us!

Lord Jesus, we love You! Thank You for loving us and coming to us in love to reveal Yourself to us. Oh, how much we love You! Draw us, Lord, and we will run after You. Kiss us with the kisses of Your mouth. We come to You in love to spend time with You in Your word. We want to live our whole life before You and with You, loving You and giving ourselves to You. Amen, Lord, thank You for creating us in the image of God, who is a Lover, so that we may love God! We love You, Lord Jesus! We don’t just want to do things for You but even more, we want to love You! Thank You for betrothing us with You through the word of the ministry. May we be preserved as a pure virgin for Christ. May we love You with the best love, the first love, and do the first works. Oh Lord Jesus, how much we love You! We love being in this divine and holy romance. We love opening to You to touch You, enjoy You, and be filled with You!

We Love the Lord by Setting our Entire Being on Him and being Occupied by Him, even Lost in Him

But as it is written, "Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not come up in man's heart; things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Cor. 2:9

As we live our Christian life in the divine and holy romance with God, we need to love Him by setting our entire being on Him, being occupied by Him, and being lost in Him.

Whatever we love, our whole heart – even our entire being – is set on and occupied and possessed by (1 Tim. 6:10-11; 2 Tim. 3:2-4; 4:8, 10a; Titus 1:8).

If we love money, we are consumed by the love of money, and our whole being is occupied by the thought of money.

If we love pleasures, we only seek to have pleasures, and we pay any price to get them. If we love the present evil age, we will not love anything else, and we will not even love God, for the present age occupies us.

Especially at the end of the age, as the apostles have prophesied, men are lovers of money, lovers of the self, without love for God, and lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.

But we want to give ourselves to the Lord to be those who love the Lord and love His appearing. We do not want to love the present evil age but rather, love the Lord with our first love.

What does it mean to love God? To love God means to set our entire being absolutely on Him, that is, to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him (see footnote 3 on 1 Cor. 2:9, Recovery Version Bible).

In 1 Corinthians 2:9 Paul tells us that God prepared amazing things for those who love Him, even things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not come up in man’s heart.

God has deep and hidden things prepared and ordained for those who love Him; we simply need to love the Lord.

Yes, we need to fear God, and we definitely need to worship God and believe in God, but even more, we need to love Him. Loving the Lord is the indispensable requirement.

We need to set our entire being – our spirit, our soul, and our body, together with our heart, our soul, our mind, and our strength (Mark 12:30) – absolutely on Him.

This means that we need to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him. We need to allow the Lord to become everything to us so that we may be one with Him practically in our daily life.

As we love the Lord by setting our entire being on Him and being occupied by Him, even lost in Him, we have the closest and most intimate fellowship with God!

To realize and participate in the deep and hidden things God has ordained and prepared for us requires us not only to believe in Him but also to love Him. To fear God, to worship God, and to believe in God (that is, to receive God) are all inadequate; to love Him is the indispensable requirement. To love God means to set our entire being — spirit, soul, and body, with the heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30) — absolutely on Him, that is, to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him, so that He becomes everything to us and we are one with Him practically in our daily life. In this way we have the closest and most intimate fellowship with God, and we are able to enter into His heart and apprehend all its secrets (Psa. 73:25; 25:14). Thus, we not only realize but also experience, enjoy, and fully participate in these deep and hidden things of God. 1 Cor. 2:9 footnote 3 on, love Him, RcV BibleThis will cause us to enter into the heart of God and apprehend all its secrets (Psa. 73:25; 25:14). May we be such ones today. May we set our entire being absolutely on the Lord, allowing Him to occupy and saturate us.

When we love the Lord, living in the divine and holy romance, we experience, enjoy, and fully participate in the deep and hidden things of God, which God has ordained and prepared for us. Amen!

To love the Lord Jesus is to appreciate Him, to direct our being to Him, to open to Him, to enjoy Him, to give Him the first place, to be one with Him, to live Him, and to become Him (see Matt. 26:6-13; 2 Cor. 3:16; Mark 12:30; Col. 1:18; 1 Cor. 6:17; Phil. 1:20-21).

When we love the Lord, living in the divine and holy romance with Him in our daily living, we will be willing to “waste” ourselves on the Lord, not counting the cost but just loving Him.

We will take Him as the first in all things, giving Him the preeminence in all things. We will live one spirit with Him, and He will be expressed through us.

For us to live will be Christ and for us to die will be a gain, for we will be with our Beloved.

May we be those who love the Lord and give ourselves to Him, setting our entire being on Him and allowing Him to be magnified in our body, whether through life or through death.

Lord Jesus, we love You and we set our entire being on You! We not only believe into You and worship You, but we also love You! Oh Lord, we set our entire being – our spirit, soul, and body – absolutely on You! We choose to love You with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength! May our entire being be occupied with You and lost in You! Amen, Lord, we want to be one with You practically in our daily life. May we live in the closest and most intimate fellowship with God. We open to You, Lord, and we give ourselves to just love You! We direct our being to You. We appreciate You, for You are the most wonderful One. Oh, the more we open to You and love You, the more we appreciate who You are! We give You the first place in all things by faith, for we love You. We want to live one spirit with You today, for we love You! Amen, Lord, we want to live Christ and even become the same as Christ, for we love You! Make us the same as You are. Prepare us to be Your bride! We love You, Lord Jesus!

This holy romance is repeatedly revealed throughout the Old Testament… Several times…God referred to Himself as the Husband and to His people as His wife (Isa. 54:5; 62:5; Jer. 2:2; 3:1, 14; 31:32; Ezek. 16:8; 23:5; Hosea 2:7, 19)…Many times the prophets spoke of God as the Husband and of His people as His wife. Humanly speaking, we always think of God in a religious way as the Almighty, feeling compelled to worship Him. But do you married brothers expect this from your wives? Suppose your wife thought of you as a big body, as a giant, approaching you adoringly, bowing herself, and kneeling down to worship you. What would you say? You would say, “Silly wife, I don’t need such a worshipper. I need a dear wife to embrace me and kiss me. If you will simply give me a little kiss, I will soar in the air.” Our God certainly is the almighty God, and, as His creatures, we must worship Him. Many verses speak about worshipping God in this way. However, have you never read in Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Hosea that God desires to be a husband? In ancient times God’s people built the temple and established a system of worship complete with priesthood and sacrifices. One day God intervened and spoke through Isaiah saying, “I am tired of this. I am weary with your sacrifices. I want you to love Me. I am your Husband, and you must be My wife. I want to have a marriage life. I am lonely. I need you. I need you, My chosen people, to be My wife.”

What a mercy, brother, to know that in the most pure and holy sense, the loving God created man in the image of Himself as a lover for man to love Him, and not simply to fear and worship God.

Hence, to love Him is the indispensable requirement.

To love God means to set our entire being — spirit, soul, and body, with the heart, soul, mind, and strength absolutely on Him, that is, to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him, so that He becomes everything to us and we are one with Him practically in our daily life.

In this way, we have the closest and most intimate fellowship with God, and we are able to enter into His heart and apprehend all its secrets.

Thus, we not only realize but also experience, enjoy, and fully participate in these deep and hidden things of God.

Lord, we open our being up to give You the 1st place, our best love, to become the bride to match You! Amen, Lord, we set our entire being on You! Cause us to enjoy your dine love in closest intimacy daily with You!

We need to be romantic christians, not religious christians.

God is seeking our love. He wants to be a husband and He desires a wife.

God requires us not only to believe in Him but to love Him.

Only those who allow the Lord to attract/draw them and to cause them to run after Him will enter the bridal chamber upon the Lord’s return.

May we be willing to set aside our religious pride and be unashamed lovers of Jesus.

Amen. Lord Jesus, we love and adore You and we set our heart upon You.

It is not enough to fear God, worship God and believe in Him.

We need to be those who love Him, setting our entire being – spirit, soul and body on Him.

The Bible is a divine romance between God and man but in our experience if we do not have such a close, intimate fellowship with Him we are religious not romantic Christians!

Lord, save us from religious duty to love You with the best love, to be lost in You and one with You practically today! Amen! Lord Jesus we love You!

Ameen!!!

The deep thought of the Bible us that it is a divine romance.

The very God who created us is a Lover and we are the object of such divine love.

And because we were created just like Him, we have also the capacity not only to receive and enjoy such love but to love Him in return.

Such mutual love is beautifully and romantically portrayed in Song of Songs, a story of fantastic romance.

Lord Jesus we love You. May we really enter into Your heart and love toward us. Touch our hearts. May You direct our hearts into Your heart of love. O Lord our whole heart.
