we live and exist for the building up of the Body of Christ today!

we live and exist for the building up of the Body of Christ today!

The first intrinsic and inward aspect of the direction of the Lord’s move today is the building up of the organic Body of Christ for God to have a corporate expression.

You can say that there is an outward aspect of the direction of the Lord’s move: His move to Europe (for God to gain a beachhead and a group of overcomers in the land of Antichrist) and eventually to Israel, to the land of Emmanuel, for the Lord to have a way to return.

But there’s a profoundly inward aspect, a deeper and more intrinsic aspect, which originates from the very being of God.

The direction of the Lord’s move today

Whatever God does is according to His being, according to His heart’s desire. The direction of the Lord’s move today originates from within the very being of God Himself, from the desire of His heart, His intention, His counsel, His purpose, and His economy.

As God opens His heart toward us in His Word and in His up-to-date speaking in the ministry of the age, we need to be brought into the open heart of God and live here in Christ to receive constant impressions and burdens that match His heart.

The direction of the Lord’s move today, which originates from the heart of God, needs to penetrate, saturate, and burn within us until it governs us and directs us.

While He was on the earth, the Lord Jesus Himself did a lot of necessary outward things like healing the sick, casting out demons, taking care of people, feeding the hungry, teaching people, discipling people, etc.

But what was really in His heart is what the disciples also noticed, The Zeal of Your House Devours Me (John 2:17).

The Lord Jesus did engage in a lot of necessary outward works and activities, but His inward being was consumed by the Father’s house, that He may build up the Father’s house in resurrection. What a pattern! This is what we live for today!

We live for the building up of the Body!

How about us? What do we live for? What is the direction of our living and what governs us today?

The building up of the Body of Christ by bringing in the reality of the Body in the local churches is closely related to the changing of the age to the kingdom age, and it is related to the hastening of the Lord’s return. The Lord today in His heavenly ministry is doing one thing: He is building His church (Matt. 16:18).

At the core and depth of our life with the Lord as members of the Body we need to have God’s direction – We Live For the Building Up of the Organic Body of Christ! This is what we exist for! Everything is for this! We want our life to contribute to the building up of the Body!

What can we say when we see God’s heart today and when we realize what the direction of His move is now? We can just open up to the Lord and honestly tell Him,

Lord, You desire to work Yourself into us – DO IT! We say AMEN! We agree! We give You all the room in our being. Make us part of this corporate reality, the reality of the Body! Deify us little by little and day by day until we are fully made God in life and nature but not in the Godhead! Right now, Lord, today, we give ourselves to You – give us a day’s worth of the constitution of God for the Body of Christ!

Growing with the growth of God

By holding the Head, we as the many members receive something that comes out of the Head, Christ, for our growth in life (Col. 2:19). We hold to truth – to Christ and the church as His Body – and we grow into Him, the Head, in all things (Eph. 4:15).

Even though we are human, we are plugged in and connected to Christ, the Head, who is divinely human and humanly divine. He is daily constituting us with Himself so that the Body would be produced and built up.

The more God moves in us and makes us the same as He is in life and nature, the more Jesusly human we become.

As we grow in the divine life with the growth of God, we don’t become a superspiritual human being, an angelic person, or someone who is just “so spiritual” that no one can touch him or talk to him. No – the Shepherd brings us day by day back to Himself to enjoy Him and become like Him, divine and human, balanced in our living, for the building up of the Body of Christ.

This is how we grow – by coming to Him, opening to Him, and allowing Him to operate in us.

We may tell the Lord in the morning, Lord, grow in me today! – and He will grow a little… but then He may ask, WHY do you want to grow? Our response should be, Lord, grow in us for You to have the built-up Body of Christ!

As we pray and converse with Him in this way, all kinds of things will happen to us to help us DECREASE so that He may INCREASE! This decreasing is included in our prayer, Lord, grow in me today! For Christ to increase in us, we need to decrease…. and in His mercy, He will eventually fully fill every part our being for the Body of Christ!
