when we enthrone the Lord in our being and in all things, the river of living water flows freely in us!

November 16, 2010 by aGodMan 15 Comments

In the book of Revelation, towards the end, there’s a call for everyone who is thirsty to come and drink! Hallelujah, there’s a river flowing from the throne of God, and this river of living water flows to reach everyone in the New Jerusalem & it goes on to reach everyone on the earth! Here’s what Revelation 22:17 says,

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who is thirsty come; let him who wills take the water of life freely.

The flowing river of living water comes out of the throne of God and of the Lamb – in our Christian experience the main item should be the throne of the One who purposed and of the One who redeemed us. This throne needs to be the center of our being and the center of our Christian life.

Whenever we accept the Lord’s headship, whenever we submit to His headship, we immediately have a sense of God’s riches flowing within us. It’s automatic and it is spontaneous – we enthrone the Lord in us in all the big thing and the small things, and we have the inward flow of the Triune God!

This flow of life within is actually the Triune God flowing within us! This water of life is, as shown in John 7:38-39, the Spirit. God is the One who purposed, He became the Lamb who redeemed us (John 1:14, 29), and finally He became the life-giving, flowing Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45)!

We have now the entire Triune God flowing in us as the water of life – God, the Lamb, and the Spirit flow in this water of life, bringing the element of the Triune God into us and constituting us with Himself!

This is our life supply, and this is our drink every day: the Triune God who was processed and consummated to become the all-inclusive all-need-meeting beverage!

How do we practically experience this flow of life? These things should not be simply some truths that we enjoy and appreciate – they need to become our realization and experience. We Christians need to experience the flow of the Divine Trinity in our being every day. Every morning after rising up we need to say,

Lord, thank You for a new day for me to take You as my Lord. I subject myself under Your headship for the whole day. Lord, set up Your throne in my life. Set up Your throne in the center of my being. Lord, bring my whole day with my daily life under Your throne!

If we offer such a simple yet wonderful prayer to the Triune God every morning, you will sense the living water flowing into you – and it will keep flowing throughout the day! Remember, this living water is actually the Triune God flowing within us – it is not a small thing that the Triune God flows in us!

He’s the One who purposed, He’s the One who redeemed us, and He’s the One who is the life-giving Spirit – as the consummation of the processed Triune God, the water of life reaches us, flows into us, flows within us, and flows out of us – it even flows us all the way into the New Jerusalem! He is the river of living water!

The lack of this divine living water within us should remind us that we need to enthrone the Lord in our being again in a fresh way. Why do we feel so dry sometimes, or even dried up? It is mainly because in the practical daily things of our life, we didn’t enthrone the Lord / we didn’t take Him as our head!

Without the throne being set up in the center of our being and practically applied in all the things / situations, the living water cannot flow!

The entire spiritual supply in our Christian life and in the New Jerusalem depends on the throne of God: out of the throne flows the river of water of life (the river of living water is quenching our thirst) on whose sides grows the tree of life (filling all our hunger) – and the golden street (the divine nature, the only way God wants us to walk on)! Both the water of life and the tree of life are the result of the throne being set up in our life!

O, Lord, set up Your throne in the center of our being today! Remind us, Lord, in everything to take You as our Lord and as our Head! Even put in us such a healthy fear, respect, and reverence for You! May we not do things without checking with You first, without taking You as the Head! Lord, we treasure the sweet flow of life! We treasure the flowing of the Triune God in our being! Flow in us today, Lord!
