We can continually receive the Spirit of grace and enjoy and experience grace with our spirit by calling on the name of the Lord with the exercise of our spirit, for Christ as grace is with our spirit. Hallelujah!
Grace is entirely a matter of God’s economy; whatever is not in God’s economy cannot be counted as grace.
However, we often misuse the term, God’s grace; we may think that grace is something that God does for us or gives to us.
God’s eternal economy is to gain a group of people into whom He can dispense Himself to be their life and everything so that they may be joined to Him as one, be filled and occupied with Him, and be one organic entity with Him on earth to be the Body of Christ, the church, for His corporate expression.
The entire Bible talks about this and the Lord’s recovery is concerning this.
The Triune God desires to dispense Himself into us; for this, He had to go through a process, for God is holy and righteous and glorious, but man is fallen and sinful and rebellious.
Praise the Lord, one day God became flesh, and He was full of grace and reality; of His fullness we have received, grace upon grace.
When Jesus Christ came, grace came; before Him, strictly speaking, grace had not come.
He came in incarnation, He went through death to terminate all negative things and the old creation, and in His resurrection, He is realized and consummated as the Spirit.
Today Christ is the Spirit, and this Spirit is of grace. When the Bible speaks about grace, it is related to the Father, the Son, and the Spirit.
1 Cor. 15:10 says that, by the grace of God I am what I am; here we see the grace of God the Father.
2 Cor. 13:14 speaks of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son.
Heb. 10:29 mentions the Spirit of grace. Grace is altogether related to the Triune God.
And the Triune God has been processed and consummated to be dispensed into our being; now we can just receive and enjoy Him continuously.
In the last chapters of Revelation, Rev. 21-22, we see the New Jerusalem; after John finished describing the New Jerusalem, he concluded with, The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints.
The New Testament is altogether accomplished by grace; it is worked out by grace.
Without grace, the New Jerusalem cannot be worked out, produced, or completed.
The entire economy of God is the Triune God processed and consummated as the Spirit to dispense Himself into man to produce the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem; this is altogether a story of grace.
Amen, may we be those who remain daily under the divine dispensing of the processed and consummated Triune God as grace to enjoy and receive grace for the fulfillment of God’s economy!
We can Enjoy and Experience Grace in our Spirit, for Grace is with our Spirit
The grace of Christ is with our spirit (Gal. 6:18); grace can be found, enjoyed, and experienced only in our spirit.
Our spirit is the only place where we can experience grace.
And our experience of grace is something continual; God didn’t just initially give us the Spirit as grace – He continually supplies us with the Spirit.
Gal. 3:5 says that He bountifully supplies to us the Spirit; it doesn’t say that He supplied us or will supply us but supplies us, which is something continuous.
Our receiving of grace and our enjoyment of grace is not something once for all; it is a continuous matter.
We need to continually receive the Spirit of grace, for God bountifully supplies to us the Spirit and we continually receive this Spirit of grace.
And grace is with our spirit. Many Christians know mainly of the Holy Spirit, and whenever they read the word “spirit” they think it refers to the Spirit of God. However, the Bible also speaks of the human spirit.
John 3:6 says, That which is born of the Spirit is spirit; when we’re born of God the Spirit, we are born in our human spirit of His Spirit.
John 4:24 says, God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit…this means that we human beings have a spirit, and we can worship God who is Spirit in our human spirit.
Rom. 8:16 says that the Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit; through regeneration, the Spirit came into our spirit, and now the Spirit of God witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God.
The Spirit of God and our spirit are both crucial for God’s economy today, and we can enjoy and experience grace in our spirit, for grace is with our spirit.
The Spirit is the Triune God who passed through the process of incarnation, human living, crucifixion, and resurrection to become the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45); now this Spirit dwells in our spirit and witnesses with our spirit.
Even more, as 1 Cor. 6:17 indicates, we are joined to the Lord as one spirit – He as Spirit is joined and mingled with our spirit to be one spirit.
How can we enjoy the Lord as grace? It is by turning to our spirit and being in spirit. We can receive, enjoy and experience grace in our spirit, for Christ as grace is with our spirit.
Our responsibility is to exercise our spirit, return to our spirit, and remain in our spirit; when we contact the Lord in spirit, we appropriate Him as grace.
Though this is very simple, there are so many things, situations, people, and matters in our environment that distract and frustrate us from exercising our spirit.
It’s almost as if everything and everyone around us try to stop us from receiving and enjoying grace in our spirit.
Sometimes even when we come to the meetings, we find it very difficult to turn back to our spirit, for inwardly our mind is troubling us and outwardly there are many difficulties in our environment.
All these things affect our spirit so that we cannot break through.
May we truly endeavour to exercise our spirit and turn back to our spirit not only in the meetings of the church but also in our daily life.
Whenever we encounter difficulties and we feel we can’t get through or don’t know what to do, we shouldn’t seek a human method to deal with things, thinking that something can be done by our fleshly wisdom.
Rather, we need to turn to our spirit to enjoy and experience grace with our spirit.
Without enjoying and experiencing Christ as grace with our spirit, we cannot be good fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, or daughters; no matter how much we promise the Lord that we will be better and do better unless we turn to our spirit to enjoy and experience grace with our spirit, we can’t do it.
May we be those who receive, enjoy and experience grace with our spirit by turning to our spirit again and again, for grace is with our spirit!
Hallelujah, the grace of the Lord Jesus is with our spirit! Praise the Lord, we are joined to the Lord as one spirit, for the Spirit of grace is joined and mingled with our spirit as one spirit! Amen, Lord, keep us turning to our spirit today so that we may receive, enjoy and experience grace with our spirit. Save us from trying to improve ourselves or deal with our difficulties according to our fleshly wisdom. May we be quick to turn; may we learn to turn to our spirit again and again, no matter what happens outwardly. Amen, Lord, may we realize that today Christ as the Spirit is in our spirit for our experience and enjoyment. We want to remain in our spirit, the country of grace, to enjoy and experience grace with our spirit!
We can Enjoy the Lord as Grace with our Spirit by Calling on His Name and by Praying
Two very simple ways for us to enjoy the Lord as grace with our spirit is calling on the name of the Lord and praying.
When we call on the name of the Lord not only with our mouth but with a heart turned to the Lord, from deep within, we exercise our spirit.
We may think we don’t know how to exercise our spirit, for the Bible doesn’t tell us how to do it in plain words; however, when we call on the name of the Lord, we exercise our spirit.
It is the same as exercising our legs; we may not have the intention to exercise our legs and feet, but as soon as we start walking, we spontaneously exercise them.
Similarly, whenever we call on the Lord from deep within, we automatically exercise our spirit.
No one can say, Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:3); whether we feel it or know it, when we call on the name of the Lord from deep within, we are in Spirit.
We may have a problem with our temper and no method we try may work; our temper is plaguing us and we have no way to control it or subdue it.
What is the way to deal with our temper? The way is to call on the name of the Lord; the best cure for the plague of our temper is calling on the name of the Lord with the exercise of our spirit.
When we call on the name of the Lord, we enjoy and experience grace with our spirit.
When we turn to our spirit by calling on the name of the Lord and praying, we are in the position to receive grace; in this position, we receive, enjoy, and experience grace with our spirit.
And this is a lifelong, continuous matter. On His side, the Lord became a life-giving Spirit, a Spirit that constantly and continuously dispenses life and grace to us.
On our side, we need to be continually receiving and enjoying grace; we can never graduate from breathing in the Lord as the Spirit of grace.
The receiving of Christ as the Spirit of grace is a lifelong, continuous matter, for day by day God dispenses and supplies the Spirit of grace bountifully, and we should receive the Spirit of grace continually.
How can we receive and enjoy the Lord as grace with our spirit? It is by calling on the name of the Lord and by praying.
When we simply turn our heart to the Lord and call on His name, we spontaneously exercise our spirit, and we enjoy and experience grace with our spirit.
May we learn this secret, as Paul did; he learned the secret of being content in all things, whether he suffered or was joyful, whether he lacked or abounded.
In all things, turning to our spirit by calling on the name of the Lord to enjoy and experience grace with our spirit is the key.
May we be those who always rejoice, unceasingly pray, and in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us (1 Thes. 5:16-18).
The more we call on the name of the Lord, the more we enjoy His rich grace toward us, for He is rich to all who call on His name (Rom. 10:12-13).
As we receive and enjoy the processed and consummated Triune God as our grace, we will gradually become one with Him organically, for He will become our constituent, and we will become His expression (2 Cor. 1:12; 12:9).
The goal of our enjoying and experiencing grace is not merely our own enjoyment or success; we enjoy and experience grace with our spirit not merely to solve our problems or to make us feel better.
The goal is the accomplishing of God’s eternal economy so that He may gain a corporate expression on earth.
The prototype of grace is our Lord Jesus Christ; he is full of grace because the divine attributes were fully expressed through His human virtues.
May we today in the church life be the duplication of the Lord Jesus and live the same kind of life that He lived, a life full of grace and reality.
May our Christian life and church life be an overflow of grace because God’s attributes are being lived out and expressed through our human virtues, both individually and corporately.
Lord Jesus, we exercise our spirit to call on Your name. Oh, Lord Jesus! We want to call on Your name at all times throughout the day so that we may enjoy and experience the grace with our spirit! Amen, Lord, we do not look at the environment or at our failures; we exercise to call on Your name to receive and enjoy grace! Keep us open to You to continually receive, enjoy and experience grace with our spirit. May we continually receive and enjoy the processed and consummated Triune God as our grace until we become one with Him organically! Amen, Lord, may You become our constituent and may we become Your expression! May our Christian life and church life be an overflow of grace so that the divine attributes may be lived out and expressed through our human virtues both individually and corporately for God to gain all the glory!
