The Gospels speak of the God-man Jesus Christ; this God-man passed through death and resurrection to be reproduced into many God-men, for we as believers in Christ are the reproduction of Christ, the God-men who are being made like Christ in life, nature, and expression, but not in the Godhead. Hallelujah!
If you read the Gospels you cannot but be impressed by this wonderful One, Jesus Christ, and be drawn to Him, for His living was like none other: He was not just a man, neither was He merely God, but He was a God-man expressing God.
Look at the story in Luke 10, for example, where we see the Lord typified by the Samaritan who had compassion on the one who was hurt; His tender love and care was so precious, so all-inclusive, and so shepherding. In this story, we see how the Lord Jesus selflessly and tenderly was full of compassion toward the one hurt by religion and robbed by the Judaistic robbers.
What we see here is the human compassion through and through, but it was not just human compassion but also divine kindness, divine sympathy, the divine heart in caring for all of us, the wounded ones; how touching is this!
Then in Luke 13, we have another story of one who had an infirmity; she was bent double for eighteen years, and could not stand erect; the Lord saw her, called her to Him, and released her from her sickness, and she became well!
What a God-man Saviour we have! He is the Word becoming flesh; He is God coming out of eternity into time and God becoming a man to be in the likeness of men, yet He was the very complete God and the perfect man.
And the way He lived, the kind of life He lived, was a pattern to us; He was not just a man living by His own human life, even though He was sinless; He lived by denying and putting aside His human life and taking the Father’s life as His life, living out the Father.
The Lord Jesus had a wonderful God-man living, and today His intention is that He would be reproduced in us; He wants to come into us to be our life, our life-supply, and our everything, even our very person, so that our living may be the living out of Christ, even God Himself being lived out in us and through us.
We as believers in Christ did not “join a church” when we were regenerated; rather, we received the divine life and nature, and we were organically joined to the Lord to be one spirit with Him.
Christ did not stop living once He died and resurrected; rather, He is now living in all of us, those who have His life and nature, to express God.
Christ now lives in us; He is both in the heavens living, and He is also in each one of us to live again the same kind of life that He lived when He was on earth – and this is the real Christian life!
We need to realize that what God wants is not just a good man (as Job was) but a God-man; He wants that a good man would become a God-man, even an evil man would be regenerated to become a God-man in Christ who lives Christ for the expression of God.
Through His Resurrection, Christ as the God-man was Reproduced as the many God-men, the Believers in Christ
What God desires to gain is not mainly good men who have an uplifted humanity, an improved standard of morality, a high level of ethics, those who are full of integrity; God desires to gain many God-men in Christ, the reproduction of Christ as the first God-man.
Initially, the Gospels speak of the God-man Jesus Christ; then, through His resurrection, this one God-man was reproduced as the many God-men (Rom. 1:3-4; 8:29; Heb. 2:10).
All believers in Christ were regenerated at one point: at the resurrection of Christ (2 Pet. 1:3); in time, we were all regenerated at different points in time, but in God’s eyes, the resurrection of Christ was a universal great delivery, for millions of God-men were produced with Christ as the Firstborn Son of God.
We all were reproduced in the great reproduction of Christ in His great resurrection to be the many sons of God, the many brothers of Christ.
And day by day we are in a process of being conformed to the image of the first God-man, the firstborn Son of God; for this, all things work together for good (Rom. 8:29).
One day, we will be led into glory, and even our body will be transfigured to be like His glorious body to express the Triune God in glory. Hallelujah!
The Lord Jesus, the first God-man, is the prototype for the producing of the many God-men, His reproduction (1 Pet. 2:21); He is the model, the prototype, and He perfected a particular kind of being and living, that of a God-man.
Now we are Christ’s reproduction, the mass reproduction of the one God-man.
For example, to make a car, you need to do a prototype, and then you mass-produce that prototype; the firstborn Son of God is the prototype, and we as the many begotten sons are the mass reproduction of this one prototype.
God became man to have a mass reproduction of Himself and thereby to reproduce a new kind, that there would be a new kind on this earth – the God-man kind.
Just as animals and plants have their particular species, and a horse begets a horse while a cat begets a cat, so we who are born of God are God-men, born of God with the divine life and nature.
We are the many God-men born of God and belonging to God’s species; we are part of a new kind, a new breed – the God-man kind, the mingling of God with man, for the corporate expression of God in man. Wow!
God became man to have a mass reproduction of Himself, to produce the God-man kind (Rom. 8:3, 29; Heb. 2:10).
We need to realize that we believers in Christ are God-men; when we see that we are not merely good men who need to choose the good and stay away from evil, but we are God-men born of God with His life and nature in us, we will be revolutionized.
Our daily living will be revolutionized when we realize that we are the many God-men as Christ’s reproduction, those who have the divine life and nature and who should live by the divine life to express God.
Such a realization that we are God-men is the beginning of the God-man living. We all have to rejoice in the Lord and declare that we are not just mankind but God-man kind!
Hallelujah, we believers in Christ are not just mankind but God-man kind, part of the species of God! Thank You, Lord Jesus, for passing through a process to become a life-giving Spirit to come into us and regenerate us with the divine life and make us children of God, sons of God, the many God-men! Hallelujah, we are now children of God, for God’s life and His divine nature is in us! Amen, Lord, may we realize that we are God-men and may we live not by our human life but by the divine life, living out Christ for the expression of God! Make us the corporate reproduction of Yourself, Lord, and live in us the same kind of life that You lived while on the earth!
Realizing that We are the Reproduction of Christ as the God-man to Express God in our Living
In John 12:24 the Lord Jesus likened Himself to the grain of wheat which falls into the ground and dies to produce many grains as its reproduction.
Through His death and resurrection, Christ as the God-man was reproduced and increased to become the many God-men, the many believers in Christ.
He was the first grain, the first God-man, as the prototype, and we are the many grains, the many God-men, who are produced by this one grain through death and resurrection to be the reproduction of Christ as the first God-man.
As the many God-men, we are the reproduction of God in man; such a reproduction makes God happy, for we look like Him, we speak like Him, and we live like Him (1 John 2:6; 3:2).
As the many believers in Christ, we are the many God-men to be not only the reproduction of Christ as the first God-man but also the reproduction of God; as such ones, we make God happy, for He sees Himself in us being lived out, expressed, and spoken forth.
Even as Christ was in the world, so we are today; when we see Him, we will be even as He is.
The first step of the reproduction of the God-man is that we must be reborn with the life of God in our spirit; we need to repent, believe into the Lord, and have God in Christ as the Spirit coming into our spirit to make us God-men, sons of God (John 3:3, 6).
Then, we need to be transformed by Christ as the Spirit in our soul with His divine attributes to uplift, strengthen, enrich, and fill our human virtues for His expression in our humanity; we are daily in the process of being transformed in His image from glory to glory (2 Cor. 3:17-18; Rom. 12:2).
Today we are in this long process in our life of being transformed by Christ in our soul until all our inner parts – our mind, emotion, and will – are filled and saturated with Him to express God in His divine attributes.
May we see and realize that we are God-men, born of God, possessing the life and nature of God, and belonging to the species of God (John 1:12-13).
When we see that we are the many God-men, the reproduction of Christ, our whole living will be revolutionized and we will no longer live as before; rather, we will choose to live by the divine life to have a God-man living to express God.
Although we are God’s reproduction, His hobby, part of His good pleasure, we are still not complete or perfect, because we still live in our natural man, and instead of expressing God, we express ourselves.
We may have a time with the Lord in the morning and live in spirit, but then later we may lose our temper and live like a “scorpion”, like a son of the devil. Oh, Lord!
We may be like Peter, at one point having the revelation of Christ as the Son of the living God, and the very next moment being one with Satan and being told by the Lord, Get behind Me, Satan (Matt. 16:23). Oh, Lord!
This is why we need to be transformed day by day, realizing that we are God-men, the reproduction of Christ.
We may even look at ourselves in the mirror and say, Remember, you are a God-man! Christ lives in you!
You have the divine life and nature, and you are in the process of being transformed into a God-man in full!
As children of God, those who are born of God with the divine life, we are God-men, divine persons; we’re the same as the One of whom we are born (1 John 3:1; 5:1), and we’re in the process of being transformed into His image.
Since we have been born of God, we may say that we are God in life and nature but not in the Godhead (John 1:12-13; Rom. 8:16; 2 Pet. 1:4); we say this with the utmost respect and reverence toward God, realizing that we are NOT God in His Godhead yet we have His life and nature, we are born of God, and we are God-men.
To think of ourselves as God-men and to know and realize who we are revolutionizes us in our daily experience; we need to not only know this but be revolutionized by this realization in our subjective daily experiences (1 John 2:20; 3:1-2; 5:13, 20).
Wow, we are not merely Christians or believers in Christ; we are not merely redeemed and saved people; we are God-men, God-man kind, the reproduction of God. Wow, Hallelujah!
So we need to check with ourselves again and again, under the realization that we are God-men, whether we live by the divine life and nature or we still live in our natural life.
We need to check, is the Lord living in us, or is it still us living; is the Lord speaking in us and doing everything in us, or is it still us living and speaking and doing things.
How much we need to repent and ask for the Lord’s forgiveness because so much of our daily living with its activities are not Christ living in us but still us living and being expressed.
Lord Jesus, we repent for not expressing You but still living in ourselves. We repent and ask for Your forgiveness for not living a God-man life. Thank You, Lord, for regenerating us with Your life to make us not only Christians or believers in Christ but even more, God-men, the reproduction of God. Cause us to realize that we are God-men, the children of God, divine persons, who are in the process of being transformed into the glorious image of Christ to be part of the corporate expression of God! Hallelujah, we are the reproduction of Christ, the many God-men produced by Him and being transformed by the Spirit to be the same as Christ in life, nature, expression, and function, but not in the Godhead! Amen, Lord, we open to You today to live one spirit with You, allowing You to live in us a God-man life for the expression of God in His attributes! Transform us and conform us to Your image until we look like You, walk like You, speak like You, and are like You!
