A very important matter in the Bible and in the whole universe is the matter of resurrection. What is resurrection? Simply put, resurrection means that there’s a life which goes into death, passes through death, and comes out of death not being affected by death – this is the resurrection life of Christ!
Resurrection is when something of the natural life has been put to death – and that death is the termination of everything – but then something of God emerges in newness of life! Hallelujah, Christ is now in resurrection! Today we want to see and appreciate this wonderful resurrection life of Christ.
Our Christ is everlasting in resurrection
The Lord Jesus Christ is everlasting in resurrection – He died once, and now death lords it over Him no longer! We shouldn’t be those who hinder the resurrection life in our mind, heart, and spirit by supposing that we know His resurrection life adequately.
We need to aspire like the apostle Paul in Philippians to know Christ and the power of His resurrection. Christ is now ever existing, beyond all limitation, transcending time and space – He is here always! In the flesh He was limited, but now the resurrected Christ is omnipresent, beyond all limitation! Death cannot hold Him anymore!
The ultimate limitation and the end to everything on earth is death – when the wave of death comes, it spares no one. But here is One who nullified death and destroyed the devil – who has the power of death – on the cross!
In Rev. 1:18 we see that Christ is the living One, He became dead, and now He lives forever and ever! He now has the keys of death and Hades!
Christ is the Lord Spirit with our spirit in resurrection. He will exist eternally as the resurrected God-man, our dear Lord Jesus Christ! And this One is now in our spirit, imparting the resurrection life into every part of our being!
Touching the hem of the garments of resurrection
Brother Watchman Nee pointed out in his writings that even in our highest and deepest experiences with the Lord we may have only touched the hem of the garments of resurrection. What would happen if a group of brothers and sisters would sincerely be under the anointing and leading of the Spirit and they would pray,
Lord, I MUST touch the hem of the garment of resurrection! I have heard about it, I have read about it, but now I want to TOUCH even the hem of the garment of the resurrected Christ! So that the power and energy in You would flow into me and I would be able to testify – YES, this is REAL!
The reality of resurrection is in the spirit – whenever we are in our mingled spirit and one spirit with the Lord, we touch resurrection with its freedom from all manner of limitation! In our spirit experiencing the resurrection life we conquer everything!
This is why the Body of Christ as a reproduction of the resurrected Christ is INVINCIBLE – the Body of Christ is unconquerable and undefeated! Death will attack and may seem to prevail – but wait for the third day, the day of resurrection! Resurrection prevails! Resurrection has the last word!
Oh, may I know this resurrection life!
This is our prayer daily, especially when we encounter all kinds of death situations in our work life, our student life, our family life, and even in our church life. Oh, may I know this resurrection life! In every kind of death its power outpoured!
And in my experience ever realize – this life is nothing else but Christ, my living Lord! God raised Christ from the dead because it was not possible for Him to be held by it (Acts 2:24). He didn’t struggle to get rid of the grip of death – He walked out of it, left the face cloth and His garments tidy in the tomb, and emerged in resurrection transcending over everything!
Our Christ is now in resurrection and even is resurrection life to us – in our spirit! Nothing can hold Him back, and we will experience Him as such a One fully! He is daily swallowing up any death in us, imparting resurrection life – which is Himself – into every part of our tripartite being.
We need to learn to know Him in this way – we need to learn to experience Him, be constituted with Him, live Him, be one with Him, do everything in Him, and we will touch the power that will eventually turn the entire earth to the Lord!
In His resurrection Christ is the key that turns the entire earth to God! Hallelujah, death has been nullified, and the resurrected Christ lives forever and ever!
Lord, we want to know You as such a One! We don’t want just to know about the resurrection life – bring us to experience You in our spirit as such a One! Keep us turning to You, Lord, and receiving the resurrection life into every part of our being. Lord Jesus, we want to touch even the hem of the garment of the resurrected Christ! Oh, to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death!
