In the recent conference in London I really enjoyed the twelve points about the New Jerusalem. We need to see that the New Jerusalem is not a literal, physical, lifeless city, but it is a Person.
We are becoming the New Jerusalem as the Lord prepares us to be His bride. Hallelujah, God is building Himself into us, and we are being built into Him!
- The New Jerusalem is a golden mountain. Revelation 21:18 says: “And the building work of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.” Gold signifies the divine nature of God, what God is. We are partakers of this divine nature, and we just need to enjoy what God is. God is light, God is Spirit and God is love. When we exercise our spirit, we can taste, touch, smell, see and hear God. We just need to turn to our spirit, and we can enjoy Him as the Spirit!
- The New Jerusalem is the Holy City. We need to be saturated with God dispositionally, and separated unto God positionally. We see in Numbers that we need to be the Nazarites, those who are voluntarily consecrated to the Lord. A Nazarite needs to be separated from four things: natural affection, worldly pleasure, rebellious things and death. 1 Thes. 5:23 says: “And the God of peace Himself sanctify you wholly, and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” We just need to pray, “Lord, cause me to live, serve and walk by the Spirit.” God just wants to make us happy!
- The New Jerusalem is new! God Himself is new, we need to be filled with the newness of life; we will get the unsearchable riches of Christ. In Jesus, we have peace; He is in our spirit! When we are in our spirit, we are in Him, and we can know the Lord Jesus. We need to see that when we are in our spirit, Satan has nothing!
- The New Jerusalem is the throne. There is one street in the New Jerusalem, with a river running through. We are under the throne, His presence rules us. Hallelujah, there is a Man sitting on the throne- Jesus is Lord!
- The New Jerusalem is the bride, the wife of the Lamb. We are engaged to Him, and we have a romance with Him. We just need to say every day: “Lord Jesus, I love You.”
- The New Jerusalem is the mutual abode of God and man. It is the tabernacle for God to dwell in, and it is the temple for us to dwell in. John 14:23: “Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make an abode with him.” Let us give ourselves to love the Lord to the uttermost.
- The New Jerusalem is of the precious materials – gold, pearls and precious stones. We are being replaced by Christ by the flowing of the living water and we become the precious stones.
- The New Jerusalem is a city of life. The Father is the light of life, the Son is the tree of life, and the Spirit is the river of life. The primary matter in the church life is just to eat Christ as the tree of life and to drink Him as the water of life. We just need to take Him as our life supply.
- The New Jerusalem is the gospel. We preach the gospel from the New Jerusalem. God is the Creator, the Lamb is the Redeemer, and the Spirit is the Regenerator.
- The New Jerusalem as a flowing river and a tree.
- In the New Jerusalem, we will see His face forever and ever. At the beginning of our transformation, when we turn our hearts to God and to our spirit, we behold Him face to face and we are being transformed from glory to glory. God’s face is our serving supply. There glory of God is in the face of Jesus Christ. Lord, I want Your presence to go with me. May Your face give me rest. In 2 Cor. 3:18, there are two faces: “But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.” The unveiled face is our heart; God looks on the heart. We should behold the Lord so that we can be infused with Him in our heart.
- The New Jerusalem is a better country. Jehovah is our banner, and our flag is the Triune God. 2 Cor. 5:20 says that we are the ambassadors, representing the New Jerusalem: “On behalf of Christ then we are ambassadors, as God entreats you through us; we beseech you on behalf of Christ, Be reconciled to God.” Everyday, we need to receive the abundance of grace as our enjoyment of God. The Triune God has been built into our being and there is a flowing waterfall out of our innermost being. The Lord is preparing us to be His bride; we are building the New Jerusalem.
