The Goal of the Lord’s Recovery is to Bring Forth the New Man, a Full-Grown Corporate Man

Due to the degradation of the church in general, today the Lord has a recovery – He desires to recover His people to what was there in the beginning. In His recovery, the Lord’s goal is the same as His original purpose – He wants to gain a full-grown corporate man who expresses Him and represents Him on earth.

Everything that the Lord has been doing and is currently doing both in the church and in the world situation is to bring forth a corporate new man that has Christ as his life and person. Even though it may seem that today God has been defeated and His purpose is not only neglected but also seemingly nonexistent, God will accomplish His purpose through the church as the one new man.

For us to arrive at the measure of the stature of Christ, a full-grown corporate man for the fulfillment of God’s purpose, we need to enter into the fourth stage of the experience of the divine life (see Eph. 4:13). We need to grow in life unto maturity so that God may gain a new man who fulfills His purpose.

The developments and advancements in the transportation, communication, technology, and social media are all for God’s goal to obtain the new man. It is this new man that will bring Christ back and will bring in the kingdom age.

How we need to be released from any preoccupation and personal interests and just be open to the Lord to speak a penetrating word into our being concerning His need to gain the one new man!

The Goal of the Lord’s Recovery is to Bring Forth the New Man

What is our goal today? We may have seen something of what the Lord is recovering today, we may enjoy Christ with the saints in the home meetings in the church life, and we may even attend trainings to be perfected in enjoying Christ and functioning in our measure in the church. But what is our goal? Is our goal God’s goal?

God’s goal in His recovery is to bring forth a full-grown corporate man, the new man that will fulfill His purpose (Eph. 2:15; 4:22-24; Col. 3:10-11). This new man is NOT an organization, a mission, a ministry, or even an ecumenical inter-denominational movement – it is a man, a corporate person, who takes Christ as his life and person.

In this new man there is no Greek or Jew (no nationality or race), no circumcision or uncircumcision (no distinction), no Barbarian or Scythian, no slave or free man – in this new man, Christ is all and in all (Col. 3:11). This means that we all in the local churches need to take Christ corporately as our life and as our person.

Everything that the Lord has been doing and is now doing is to bring forth this new man that has Christ as his life and his person. If there is no full-grown corporate man produced in our life-time, the Lord will not return in our lifetime. It is the one new man – matured and full-grown – that will end this age, bring the Lord Jesus as the King back, and will usher in the kingdom of God on the earth (see Rev. 11:15).

Being part of the one new man doesn’t mean that we make sure that in our meetings we have different kinds of people from different races and social statuses. Rather, the one new man is composed of many believers in Christ that take Him as their life and person, allowing Christ to be everything to them and in them. Brother Witness Lee spoke of this in, One Body, One Spirit, and One New Man (p. 83), where he said,

In the new man, there is nothing but the person. This level is so high that it cannot be higher, so strict it cannot be stricter, and so intimate it cannot be more intimate. All are one new man; this one new man has only one person, and this person is the Lord Jesus.

NOW is the Time for God to Accomplish His Purpose to Perfect the New Man!

If you read the book of Acts and the Epistles you realize how the early believers were eagerly awaiting the Lord’s return – they firmly believed and expected that the Lord Jesus would return in their lifetime. Throughout the ages, all the genuine believers in Christ have been eagerly expecting the Lord’s return, seeking Him to somehow hasten His second coming.

Today though, many Christians are content and complacent, being OK with living a good life and listening to good teachings or even having a good church life. But the Lord has a desperate need, and IT IS TIME for Him to accomplish His purpose! Brothers and sisters, NOW is the time for God to accomplish His purpose by perfecting the new man who SHOULD come into existence in our lifetime (see Eph. 4:24)!!!

The entire world situation is being prepared and raised up by God, who works behind the scenes, for the goal of obtaining and producing the corporate new man. It is NOW and TODAY in our daily life at home, at school, on the bus, while driving, at work, on the street, and wherever we are, it is time for us to take Christ as our life and our person, allowing this ONE PERSON to live in us for the fulfillment of His purpose!

What a glory it will be for the Lord to gain the one new man! He can then say, Look at My people – they are all in different circumstances, experiencing so many things, yet they all take Me as their person! In all the countries all over the earth, there is a people who take Christ as their life and person!

When should this happen? Why not now? Now is the time! Why not now, why not here, and why not with us? If not now, when? If not here, where? If not with us, with whom? Today we have the possibility and the privilege that as saints in all the local churches around the world would become this corporate new man!

May the Lord not pass us by to go to a different people that would give Him more ground in their being and would really take Christ as their person…Everything around us, even the advances in medicine, civilization, technology, transportation, and even the social media are for this – for the Lord to gain the one new man who fulfills His purpose!

When He perfects such a corporate new man, that will be the time of the Lord’s return, and the perfected new man will be the bride of Christ, who will join Him in the wedding feast for 1000 years (Rev. 19:7)! After that, the bride of Christ will be Christ’s army to defeat Satan and his armies and bring in God’s eternal kingdom on the earth! Hallelujah!

We must Enter into the Fourth Stage of the Experience of Life

We all have to admit that we are not there yet – we are not yet fully matured. Yes, the divine life is in us, and we all are at different stages of growth in life. But for us all to arrive at a full-grown corporate man for the fulfillment of God’s purpose, we need to enter into the fourth stage of the experience of the divine life (Eph. 4:13).

I would recommend the book, The Experience of Life (by Witness Lee), where we can see what the four stages are and we can be enlightened by the Lord to pray for more growth in life, cooperating with Him today.

Just as the children of Israel got out of Egypt, journeyed in the wilderness, and entered into the good land of Canaan, so we need to pass through the Jordan and enter into Christ as our good land, enter into spiritual warfare, and bring in God’s kingdom.

In the new man as a full-grown corporate man, “Christ is the man!” – we are members of Christ, and Christ is the person in all of us! It is here, in the fourth stage of the experience of life, that we know the Body, we know ascension, we reign with Christ, we engage in spiritual warfare, and we are being full of the stature of Christ.

Lord Jesus, it is time! It’s time for You to gain the new man in all the local churches on the earth today! Lord, we don’t want to delay You. Grow in us unto maturity for the new man to come into existence. Lord, accelerate the growth in life of many of Your dear believers so that we all may be full-grown, mature, being produced as the one new man who fulfills Your purpose! Lord, we eagerly expect Your return and we want to do everything we can to hasten Your coming! We take You as our life and as our person! Be our person in all our living, speaking, walking, and doing!
