Denying the Self and Walking by the Spirit to Coordinate with Others in the Body

March 4, 2017 by aGodMan 4 Comments

This week we have been prayerfully considering the coordination among the four living creatures in Ezek. 1; in a practical way, for us to coordinate with others we need to deny our self, live and act by God’s grace, walk by the Spirit and according to the spirit, and be one with the coordinating Triune […]

Living by Grace by Having our Natural Strength Dealt with by God through the Cross

2 Cor. 12:9 And He has said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather boast in my weaknesses that the power of Christ might tabernacle over me.

In seeing how Isaac experienced God and how his experience applies to us we need to realize that Isaac was born of Sarah through grace and not through the efforts of the flesh. After Abraham’s natural strength has been dealt with by God and His self-effort ceased, Isaac was born (see Gen. 17:15-19; 18:10-14; 21:1-7). […]

Living by Grace: God Rejects Man’s Fleshly Effort to Please Him According to the Law

Hagar, the bondwoman, signifies the covenant of law (Gal. 4:25)....When man is ignorant of God's grace, he will always endeavor to do something to please God, and this brings in the law, of which Hagar, the bondwoman, the improper wife of Abraham, was the symbol. Since she was the improper wife, she should not have come in. What she brought forth could not remain in God's economy. This signifies that the law should not have come in and that the produce of the law has no position in fulfilling God's purpose. Hagar brought forth Ishmael, who was rejected by God, by man's effort, not by God's grace. The produce of man's effort through the law has no share in the fulfillment of God's purpose. (Life-study of Genesis, p. 620)

God promised Abraham a seed and Abraham believed God; this was counted to him as righteousness. However, since both Abraham and Sarah were getting older and nothing was happening, Abraham listened to Sarah’s suggestion to have a seed with the help of her maidservant, Hagar. It would have been so easy and simple if, based […]
