Our Speaking with all our Words should be in the Name of the Lord Jesus to Give Grace

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good for building up, according to the need, that it may give grace to those who hear. Eph. 4:29

Our speaking with all our words needs to be in the name of the Lord Jesus to give grace to those who hear.

As believers in Christ, we need to do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father; this means that our speaking should be in the name of the Lord Jesus, and all our words should be in His name.

Everything related to our daily life, our daily living, our daily activities, and even our being needs to be in the name of the Lord Jesus.

This means that, as Paul said in Gal. 2:20, we should no longer live but Christ should live in us; we have been crucified with Christ, and Christ lives in us as we live, and we live in the organic union with the Lord.

May we discover this secret of our Christian life: we have been joined to the Lord as one spirit, and in spirit we’re one with Him.

When we are in our mingled spirit, when we contact the Lord in spirit and live in spirit, we do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus.

When we contact the Lord Jesus by exercising our mingled spirit and live in our regenerated spirit, everything we do, say, act, and not do and not say is in the name of the Lord Jesus.

This is because we are one with Him organically, so our living is His living, and His living becomes our living.

In our daily life and in our service in the church, we need to do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen!

We need to be in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, be one with Him, and live in the organic union with the Lord so that we do all things in His name.

If we abide in the Lord, no matter what we do, no matter what we say, and no matter what happens, we do all things in the name of the Lord.

When we abide in the Lord and let Him abide in us, when His word dwells in us richly, our living becomes His living, and He can be expressed and manifested through us.

Even our service will be Him serving in us, not us initiating the service or trying to do things for the Lord.

Being in the name of the Lord Jesus and doing all things in His name is the basic aspect of our Christian life.

In all things, whether we do or speak or work, we need to be one with the Lord so that, when He speaks, we speak, and what He speaks, that’s what we speak.

If we are one with the Lord in such an organic way, our service will be initiated by Him and will be according to His heart’s desire.

And whatever we do in our service to the Lord, we will simply minister life to others for the building up of the church.

May the Lord shine on us and expose us how much we do not live in spirit, and may we keep turning to Him, contacting Him, and seeking to be and live in the mingled spirit, one with the Lord!

Our Speaking with All our Words should be in the Name of the Lord Jesus to give Grace

Therefore having put off the lie, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Eph. 4:25 Let your speech be always with grace... Col. 4:6One important aspect of our daily life is our speaking; we speak a lot and to many people, and our speaking with all our words should be in the name of the Lord Jesus.

We need to put off the lie and speak the truth to our neighbour (Eph. 4:25).

It is so interesting that, right after Paul speaks concerning the church as the one new man and how we need to put on the new man by taking Christ as our person, he speaks concerning our speaking.

In the church life, in our family life, and in society, our speaking with all our words need to be in the name of the Lord Jesus to give grace to others.

Yes, we need to speak the truth and not speak lies, but even more, we need to not allow corrupt words to proceed out of our mouth but rather, that which is good and for building up, that it may give grace to those who hear (Eph. 4:29).

Our conversation with others should not corrupt them but rather, build them up. This means that we need to enjoy God as grace.

We need to take Christ as our enjoyment and supply so that we may be filled with Him.

It is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.

If our heart is filled with the Lord by enjoying Him in His word, we cannot but speak Him.

If we enjoy the Lord in His word and make our heart happy in Him, our speaking with all our words will be in the name of the Lord Jesus.

May we live a life like the Lord Jesus did, full of grace and reality (John 1:14, 17), and may we enjoy Christ as our grace and as our reality.

Grace is God given to us for our enjoyment, and reality is God revealed to us as our reality.

When we live and speak reality (Eph. 4:21, 24), we express God as our reality and others receive God as grace for their enjoyment.

There are two areas in our life where the Lord needs to gain us, for when He gains these two areas, we can do all things in His name.

These areas are our thinking and our speaking; when the Lord gains our thinking and our speaking, we can speak to give grace to others, and others will be blessed by our speaking.

What about our thinking? What do we think about?

We may say that our thinking is not ourselves, for many times we find ourselves thinking things that we never agree with; yes, Satan does influence our thinking, but we can also cooperate with the Lord by setting our mind on our spirit (Rom. 8:6).

Many times we speak idle words or gossip, and this leaks away life.

Idle words leak away life. What then should we do? In order to keep our mouth, we must first deal with our heart. The Lord says, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” (Matt. 12:34 ). When the heart has something, the mouth speaks it out. If we have something in our heart, sooner or later, it will come out of our mouth. If we do not speak it here, we will speak it elsewhere. If we do not speak it in this house, we will speak it in another house. Whatever is in the heart, the mouth will speak out. Therefore, in order to learn before the Lord to stop our idle words, we must start by dealing with our heart If we do not deal with our heart, our mouth can never be dealt with properly. It is the heart that is first filled with all kinds of things before the mouth speaks of them. Never think that a word can be said in a heartless way...Because there is a heart for something, the mouth speaks. Hence, in order to deal with idle words, we must first deal with the heart. Collected Works of Watchman Nee, vol. 37, pp. 54-55How can we keep our mouth and take care of our thoughts? We need to first deal with our heart, for out of the abundance of our heart, the mouth speaks (Matt. 12:34).

We don’t just speak things; our heart thinks, feels, and considers, and our mouth simply utters what the heart says.

When the heart has something to say, we speak it; we may not speak it now but we will speak it later, and we may not speak it at home but we will speak it somewhere else.

For us to have our speaking with all our words in the name of the Lord Jesus, we need to deal with our heart.

We need to turn our heart to the Lord so that any veil may be taken away and we may see Him, be infused with Him, and be transformed into His image by beholding and reflecting Him (2 Cor. 3:17-18).

When our heart is filled with good things by our setting our mind on our spirit, our mouth will speak words that give grace to others.

Never think that we speak in a mindless or heartless way; our heart directs all our speaking.

May we enjoy Christ as grace in our heart and take Him as our life and person so that He would be the treasure of our heart.

And may our speaking with all our words be in the name of the Lord Jesus so that we may give grace to those who hear us.

Lord Jesus, we give You our speaking with all our words; may our speaking be in the name of the Lord Jesus! Amen, Lord, we come to You to enjoy You and be satisfied in You. May You be the treasure and delight of our heart. Fill us with Yourself as the good things, the treasure in our vessel. We want to enjoy You as grace and reality so that our heart may be filled with You and overflow with grace to others through our speaking. Oh Lord, we give our heart to You. Purify our heart. Cleanse our heart. Fill our heart. Saturate our heart. See if there is any wicked way in us and lead us on Your way. We choose to set our mind on our spirit. We turn our heart to You to behold You face to face and be infused with You. Dear Lord Jesus, may our speaking with all our words be in the name of the Lord Jesus to give grace to those who hear!

We will Render an Account on the day of Judgment concerning Every Idle Word we Speak

And I say to you that every idle word which men shall speak, they will render an account concerning it in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned. Matt. 12:36-37We may think that, as long as we don’t swear, say bad words, and speak evil things, we are OK in the matter of our speaking.

But the Lord Jesus, the heavenly King of the kingdom of the heavens – of which we are citizens in spirit – said that we will render an account in the day of judgment concerning every idle word which we speak (Matt. 12:36).

This is a warning to us.

The Lord didn’t say that if we speak filthy words or blasphemous words, neither did He say that if we speak evil words, we will give an account for them.

Rather, He said that every idle word will be accounted for. Oh Lord!

What are idle words? An idle word is a non-working word, a word that is inoperative, a word that has no positive function; such words are useless, unprofitable, unfruitful, and barren.

If the Lord shines on us we will realize that many of our words every day are such words.

Idle words are redundant words, incongruous words, unnecessary words, and gossiping words.

By our words we will be justified and by our words we will be condemned (Matt. 12:37). Oh Lord!

We should not be introspective so that we analyze ourselves and see what kind of words we speak, but we need to allow the Lord to shine on our speaking.

How much of our speaking is in the name of the Lord Jesus? How many words do we speak that are just unfitting? They may be true, but they are not necessary.

Sometimes even in our meetings, we may bring up a certain situation to pray for, but we may speak unnecessary words, words that should not be said; we may expose someone and, once we hear things about them, we can’t shepherd them or fellowship with them anymore.

Some things we can make restitution for and we may recompense others for; we may steal something and we can bring it back, or we commit a sin and we can repent and have the Lord wash us and cleanse us.

But when it comes to our speaking, we need to realize that, once we say something, we can’t take it back.

Idle words, unnecessary words, and words that are unprofitable are not for building up.

We may say something that offends others; there is no way to take it back, and others may be offended for a long time – simply because of our speaking.

This sin will have to go before the Lord. On the day of judgment, those who speak such words will render an account concerning every one of them.

Every word we speak will be spoken twice: once in this age, as we speak it, and the second time before the judgment seat.

We need to come to the Lord, again and again, concerning our hearts and our speaking.

We need to let the Lord deal with our heart and its intentions, thoughts, desires, motives, and purposes, so that our words may minister life to others.

Out of the heart come the issues of life; we need to keep our hearts with all vigilance.

And when we speak words that are unprofitable, unnecessary or gossiping, we need to come to the Lord to repent and be washed.

The Greek word means not working. An idle word is a non-working word, an inoperative word, a word that has no positive function and is useless, unprofitable, unfruitful, and barren. Those who have spoken such words will render an account concerning every one of them in the day of judgment. Since this is the case, how much more must we account for every wicked word! Matt. 12:36, footnote 1, Recovery Version BibleWe need to confess our idle words and unprofitable speaking. And we need to turn to the Lord again and again so that we may touch Him, be purged and purified by Him, and allow Him to speak in us.

May our speaking with all our words be in the name of the Lord Jesus.

If the Lord gains our speaking, He will gain all our living.

There’s nothing more ordinary than our words, our speaking; if the Lord could gain our speaking and all our words are in the name of the Lord, we will have a wonderful church life, marriage life, and home life!

But if we do not deal with our hearts and do not allow the Lord to make His home in our hearts, if we don’t behold the Lord to reflect Him, our speaking may be quite filled with unnecessary words and gossip.

May we keep coming to the Lord concerning our speaking and may we confess our idle words, our unnecessary words, and our redundant words.

May we realize that not only blasphemous words are serious but loose words are also serious.

Not only gossip words are serious but also idle words are serious.

Not only filthy words are serious, but unnecessary words are also serious.

May we let the word of God shine on us and regulate our living so that we may live in the light of the Lord’s judgment.

Lord Jesus, we confess our idle words. We confess our unnecessary words. Oh Lord, we come to You. Cleanse us. Purify our hearts and our lips. Save us speaking not only from filthy words but even more, redundant words and incongruous words. May we realize that we will give an account concerning every idle word we speak before the Lord in the day of judgment. Oh Lord, we need You! Wash us and cleanse us with Your precious blood. We want to live in Your name so that no idle word would come out of our mouth. We want to live one spirit with You so that no corrupt word would ever proceed from our mouth. Lord Jesus, we give You our ordinary daily living; live in us and speak in us. May our speaking with all our words be in the name of the Lord Jesus to give grace to those who hear!

Our God wants us live a life full of grace & reality.

To be in the person of Jesus means to manifest grace & reality.

Our speaking should express & convey grace & reality, not idle & vain words.

Amen. Lord, save us from speaking our own words and living apart from You.

Dear brother, what we speak should impart the grace we have received to those who hear us.

Instead of speaking idle, redundant, unecessary, gossiping words, we should minister life to those whom we speak for building up.

O Lord Jesus! Our speaking should be in the name of the Lord, according to His person.

Ameen!!!

Doing all things in the name of the Lord include our daily living and our service in the church, our speaking and our praying. All these must be in the name of the Lord Jesus, that is in oneness with Him in all things.

Oh Spirit of reality bring us into this reality.🙏🙏🙏

If you pray to the Lord: “Lord, You are my life; I am a spirit with you; Lord, You are in my spirit,” you will live in your spirit and will remain in constant communion and contact with the Lord. At all times and in all places, the Lord remains in you to be your life and to be one with you. If we practice this, we will be freed from religion, ethics and logic, and we will truly live Christ in our spirit. This is what God wants.
