Praise the Lord for the uni conference.
I’ve been attending the uni conferences, and I’m always encouraged when I see all the students gather together from many different campuses and universities. It’s encouraging to see that the Lord is moving and growing in so many cities in UK.
At this conference, I noticed there was a lot of new one and I enjoyed talking to each one and hearing their testimony and how they met the saints. Despite not knowing each other, everyone was very open which encouraged me from being passive and talk more with the saints. Thank the Lord for the increase and Lord we pray for the remaining fruits!
The first message really touched me. The title is “Being rescued out of the present evil age by the revelation of God’s Son in us”.
We see that in Galatians 1:4 the Lord did not just die for us to not go to the lake of fire but it is actually so that He could rescue us out of this present evil age.
This present evil age is Satan’s world system where there are so many things that could occupy us or blind us or distract us away from God. There is education, there is philosophy, there is entertainment and there is religion. These may not be evil things and may seem very good but Satan just wants to occupy us and waste our time from the Lord.
The speaking brother emphasised the matter of religion and after hearing the speaking my understanding of religion was changed very much. Religion is worshipping God but without Christ. It is to serve or worship God without the presence of Christ, the indwelling Christ, the subjective Christ or the enjoyment of Christ.
We see that actually in the bible the Lord has been fighting against religion because the Lord just wants us to enjoy Christ Himself and not to be part of any religious system.
In my experience, when I was growing up in school, it felt very weird to talk about God and praying seemed very odd and if you even mentioned it, you would look like an abnormal person.
But we must see that this is the enemy’s work and Satan’s tactics to blind us so that Christ would not shine in us. Christ is living! And He lives in all of us!
We need to be rescued from all the religious systems but do we realise that even religion is in us. Even in the church life, we can do something of religion.
We come to many meetings but where is our heart, are we just trying to be a good Christian brother or sister? We must come back to Genesis and see that good is on the wrong tree. We must eat of the tree of life. We are here for Christ and to be filled with Christ.
Matthew 15:7-8 says “Hypocrites! … This people honours Me with their lips, but their heart stays far away from Me”. We don’t want to go along the tides of the age, to be hypocrites. Lord, I turn my heart to You! Lord, I just want You!
In our daily walk, though we are in this present evil age, we should rekindle our love for the Lord every morning, and if we missed the opportunity we just turn again! Hallelujah, we just keep turning to the Lord, to this One who lives in our spirit.
The singing was very enjoyable in the meetings and at the campfire.
My favourite song was Oh what a mystery, Christ in you, Christ in me. In this song, the verse ”I am crucified with Christ” can be shouted out and declared with your whole being and I believe the enemy is definitely put to shame at that moment where all the students are declaring with their whole being that it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.
Also, the small gesture of pointing at someone and telling them that Christ is in you is really encouraging as we may hear about it but it may not be our reality. So throughout the song, we are reminding each one that Christ is in you! O what a victory!
The school year has been busy for me but I’m very glad that I took this opportunity to be with the saints. We need to proclaim to all the saints in the world that Christ live in you!
