It is so wonderful and encouraging to realize that Christ is in the heavens as our divine High Priest interceding for us, and He was appointed by God to care of us. He knows what we need; we think we know what we need, but Christ knows what our real need is, and He intercedes for us before God.
Knowing that Christ is a divine High Priest interceding for us should cause a reaction in us; we should respond to Christ’s intercession by cooperating with Him to grow in life, enjoy the Lord, and be transformed, and we should be those who reflect His prayer on the earth.
We need to cooperate with the interceding Christ; as members of the Body of Christ we are joined to Him as the Head in an organic way, and we need to be one with Him and participate in this heavenly intercession so that Christ will execute God’s will in the universe for the building up of the Body of Christ and the preparation of the bride of Christ.
We need to become on earth the reflection of Christ’s intercession in His heavenly ministry by praying the prayers of the interceding Christ. As He is interceding in the heavens we need to be one with Him to work on earth by praying one with Him and releasing His prayers on earth, thus reflecting what He is doing in the heavens.
There’s a divine transmission going on between us and Christ: He was made by God Head over all things to the church, and we need to simply be open and receive this divine transmission, and we will be one with the Lord to pray His prayers on earth.
If we see that Christ is the One ruling in the heavens and He intercedes for us for the fulfillment of God’s purpose, we will realize that the things impossible with us are possible with God, and God is in control over the governments, situations, and things on earth.
It’s not up to the president, the leader, or the boss to set up things or manage the situation – Christ is the One in control, He is the Lord of lords, and as we pray one with Him to reflect His prayers in the heavens, He has a way to move on earth and do what He wants to do for the building up of His Body and the preparation of His bride.
Receiving the Divine Transmission and Responding to Christ’s Interceding for His Move on Earth
According to Eph. 1:21-22, between Christ in heaven (the Head) and us on earth (the Body of Christ) there’s a divine transmission, a “heavenly current”; He is head over all things to the church, and as the church, we enjoy the divine transmission of all that Christ is, has, and has attained.
If we are open to the Lord and are connected with Him, we are receiving this divine transmission, and we respond to His work in heaven by praying on earth. But if we are not connected to Christ and properly related to our fellow members of the Body, we do not have the divine transmission.
It is such a shame that many believers who love the Lord, pursue Him, read the Bible, and meet with other believers, yet they are not continuously connected to the Lord but rather allow insulation to build up between them and Him.
We need to realize that, as the Body of Christ, we are intimately connected with Him as the Head, and we should deal with anything that would insulate us from Him; we need to deal with sins, offenses, loving the world, and all kinds of ethics, religion, philosophy, and culture, so that we may have a clear view of what Christ is doing and be one with Him to pray on earth for His move.
If we are continuously connected to Christ, we receive the divine transmission and we will respond to Christ’s heavenly ministry by praying on earth for His purpose to be released. As the Head is working in the heaven by interceding for us, ministering to us, and administrating the universe, we as the Body of Christ on earth are working also – we respond by praying, reflecting the Lord’s doing in the heaven.
This is why we need to set our mind on the things which are above, and not on the things which are on the earth; when we set our mind on Christ, His accomplishments, His being, and what He is doing right now, we will be one with Him and with the fellow members of the Body to pray on earth as a reflection of His prayer in the heavens. With God nothing is impossible, but He needs our cooperation in prayer.
It seemed that Russia will forever stay communist, but because many believers prayed in oneness with the Lord and with one another, the Lord broke through and there are many thousands who believe into the Lord and meet on the ground of oneness. It seems now that North Korea is closed and the gospel cannot penetrate, but if some believers respond to Christ’s heavenly ministry to intercede one with Him, the Lord will have a way to open up this country for the gospel of the kingdom.
We need to be open to the Lord and receive His divine transmission, and we will respond to the intercession of the ascended Christ as the divine High Priest (Heb. 7:25). If we continuously receive the divine transmission, experiencing the transaction between the ascended Christ and us, we will respond to Christ’s interceding, and the Lord will have a way to move on earth for the fulfillment of God’s eternal purpose (see Eph. 1:11; 3:11; Rom. 8:28).
All the Lord needs is a group of people standing one with Him on earth, receiving His divine transmission, and responding to His interceding for Him to have a way to move on earth for the fulfillment of His purpose!
Lord Jesus, keep us open to You to receive the divine transmission from You as the Head. May we be those on earth who are one with You as the Head and respond to Your intercession as the divine High Priest. Lord, we want to continuously receive the divine transmission and respond to Your interceding so that You may have a way to move on earth for the fulfillment of God’s eternal purpose. We choose to set our mind on the things which are above where Christ is; Lord, may Your will be done earth and may Your kingdom come! May the Body of Christ be built up and the Bride be prepared for the Lord to return soon!
Seeking the Things Above and Being one with Christ to be Wholly Occupied with the Lord’s Enterprise
There are millions of believers on the earth, and many of them fervently love the Lord, read His word, meet regularly, and testify to others of what the Lord has done for them and in them. However, many believers seek other things than the things which are above, where Christ is. If we are those who seek the things which are above, where Christ is, we will be wholly occupied with the Lord’s enterprise (Col. 3:1-4, 17).
If we set our mind on the things above, we will be impressed with what the Lord is doing and we will have one life and one living with Him so that He would carry out on earth what He desires to accomplish. When we set our mind on the things which are above, our heart will be with Him in heaven, where He is interceding for the churches, supplying the saints, and administrating God’s government.
If we don’t set our mind on the things above we may still love the Lord and do many things “for the Lord”, but our heart will not be set on the Lord’s enterprise. The Lord wants us to enjoy Him and experience Him as the reality of all the positive things in the universe, the all-inclusive One, our life, and our living; furthermore, He wants us to set our mind on the things which are above and be one with Him in our prayer for His move and His purpose on the earth.
In Colossians we see a profound revelation of Christ: He is the firstborn from the dead, the firstborn of all creation, the all-inclusive One, the reality of all the positive things; such a One must become our enjoyment and daily experience, and we should set our mind on the things which are above.
We all should aspire to be one with the Lord in His heavenly ministry and to have a heart that is one with His heart; we should be those who care more for the Lord’s interest than for our own things, and we should care more for what’s on His heart than for what we want to do or gain. We need to aspire to be one with the Lord in the heavenlies and to have a heart that is ONE with His heart.
We need to long to be with Him in His priesthood, ministry, and administration. We need to long to be one with the ascended Christ in His intercession, so that He may pray in us and through us the prayers that He needs to move on earth, accomplish God’s purpose, and end this age for His kingdom to come in.
May the Lord gain us as those who give themselves to the prayer personally, in twos and threes, and as the church, so that we may be one with the heavenly Christ in His intercessory work to execute His plan on earth today.
Lord Jesus, we aspire to be one with You in Your heavenly ministry. Lord, may our heart be one with Your heart so that we may care more for what You care than for our own things. Oh, how we long to be one with the ascended Christ in His intercession! Lord, we take You as our life, our living, our person, and our everything, and we want to be joined to You in prayer until You accomplish God’s purpose on the earth. Gain us and gain many others to be those who pray one with the heavenly Christ in His intercessory work to execute God’s plan on earth!
