Pray for the Father’s Name to be Sanctified, His Kingdom Come, and His Will be Done

And He said to them, When you pray, say, Father, Your name be sanctified; Your kingdom come. Luke 11:2

In Matthew 6 we see the pattern of prayer the Lord taught His disciples, the prayer that expresses God’s will; this prayer is related to the kingdom of God and it starts with, Father, Your name be sanctified, Your kingdom come, and Your will be done.

Amen, Lord Jesus, we stand one with You on earth to pray for the kingdom of God! May Your name, Father God, be sanctified! May Your kingdom, God the Son, come! May Your will, God the Spirit, be done! Teach us to pray, Lord, for Your kingdom to be brought on earth in reality! Amen!

We need to learn to pray. There is not just one kind of prayer but many kinds of prayer, and one particular kind of prayer is the prayer that expresses God’s will and is for the kingdom of God.

In Matthew 6:9-13 we see the pattern of prayer that is related to the kingdom of God.

In John 14-17, however, we see a different prayer, which is not related to God’s kingdom but rather, it is related to life. There, the Lord tells us to pray in His name; to pray in the name of the Lord is to be one with Him in life.

As believers in Christ who are born of God, we have the divine life and nature of God, and when we pray, we pray one with the Lord in life.

We exercise our spirit and enjoy the dispensing of the Triune God as life, and we pray one with the Lord.

When we pray in the name of the Lord, we pray one with Him, even in HIs life. But when we pray to express God’s will, when our prayer is related to the kingdom, we have a different kind of prayer.

We need to come to the Lord afresh and learn from Him to pray.

We may think we know what Matthew 6 speaks about, and we may even be able to recite the Lord’s prayer by heart; however, we need to still come to the Lord and learn to pray, even to pray the prayer that expresses God’s will.

As believers in Christ, we are men in the flesh regenerated with God’s life, and we pray to the divine and mystical God.

The prayer the Lord taught us to pray in Matthew 6 is not just a prayer for nourishment or enjoyment, nor is it just a prayer of intercession. Rather, it is a prayer to deal with God’s enemy, a prayer of warfare, a prayer for God’s kingdom.

We need to learn to pray in this way today.

May the Lord grant us the spirit of a learner so that we may learn to pray in this way, praying one with the Lord and even in the Lord to express God’s will and release His kingdom on the earth.

Our prayer can further the kingdom of God, cause His name to be sanctified, and cause His will to be done on the earth!

Father, Your Name be Sanctified! Son, Your Kingdom Come! Spirit, Your Will be Done!

You then pray in this way: Our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified; Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Matt. 6:9-10

The Lord Jesus begins in Matthew 6:1 by saying, You then pray in this way. This gives us a pattern of prayer; this, however, does not mean that we need to recite this prayer.

Nowhere in the New Testament do we see that the disciples recited the Lord’s prayer; this is a pattern of prayer, even the pattern of a prayer that expresses God’s will and is related to God’s kingdom.

The Lord’s prayer can be divided into three sections, the first of which is concerning God and is related to the Divine Trinity.

Matthew 6:9-10 says, Our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified; Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth.

This is a prayer related to the Divine Trinity. Your name be sanctified is related mainly to the Father. Your kingdom come, is related to the Son, Your will be done, is related to the Spirit.

The Lord Jesus taught us to pray in this way that first of all, we would not only mention the Divine Trinity but even more, cooperate in prayer to sanctify His name, bring in God’s kingdom, and cause His will to be done.

Such a prayer is being fulfilled in this age, and it will be ultimately fulfilled in the coming kingdom age.

Today, we are joined to the Lord in spirit for the Father’s name to be sanctified, the Son’s kingdom to come, and the will of the Spirit to be done.

This will ultimately be fulfilled in the coming kingdom age when the name of God will be excellent in all the earth (Psa. 8:10, the kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of Christ (Rev. 11:15), and the will of God will be accomplished.

We need to learn to pray in this way by being in the divine and mystical realm, touching the Lord, to be one with Him in our prayer.

Whenever we pray, we touch our Father who is in the heavens. Our Father is in the heavens, and our prayer touches Him.

Many times in our prayer, we pray to the Lord, asking Him to care for this and that, bringing our needs before Him, and asking Him for particular needs or situations.

But who cares for the need of the Father? Who prays for the Father’s name to be sanctified? Who joins himself to God in prayer for the name of God to be sanctified?

The whole earth is full of idols and false Gods, and even some people think that our God is a false god. We need to pray for the name of God to be sanctified.

He is the true God of the universe, and we want His name to be sanctified. His name is uncommon, out of the ordinary, and holy. We sanctify His name, we call on His name, and we exalt His name.

For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38 Then I said, Behold, I have come (in the roll of the book it is written concerning Me) to do Your will, O God." Heb. 10:7We also pray for the kingdom to come; this is the kingdom of the Son, for He is the King of the heavenly kingdom. His kingdom is here, spiritually speaking, in the hearts of those who have believed into Him.

But we want His kingdom to be manifested and be brought into being in its reality. We want His kingdom to come in us and around us.

If we look around us, we only see how the enemy destroys and spoils everything, and the kingdom of this earth is altogether the kingdom of Satan.

But we learn to practice the kingdom life in the church life (Rom. 14:17), and we pray for the kingdom to come.

We pray for the will of God to be done; even though Satan’s will seems to be prevailing today, we pray for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.

We are here on earth to recover the will of God being done on earth, and we exercise our spirit, joined to the Spirit, to pray, Your will be done!

We need to learn to pray in this way. We need to give God the cooperation He needs, under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, for His name to be sanctified, His kingdom to come, and His will to be done.

Lord Jesus, teach us to pray prayers that express God’s will. We want to learn to pray. Teach us to pray. Teach us how to pray. May we pray prayers related to the kingdom, prayers that bring in the kingdom of God. Amen, our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified! Father God, may Your name be sanctified in us and around us. We exalt You, we worship You, and we lift You up as the only true God! We sanctify Your holy name. May Your name be sanctified on the earth. Lord, may Your kingdom come! Amen, Lord Jesus, bring in Your kingdom! May Your kingdom come in us and also around us! May Your kingdom come on the earth and be expressed among us today! May Your kingdom come in the church life and in our family life! Amen! Lord, may Your will be done! Yes, may the will of the Spirit be done in our life. May the will of God be carried out so that man would express and represent God for the kingdom of God! Amen, Lord, teach us to pray!

Praying for the Father’s Name to be Sanctified, the Son’s Kingdom to Come, and the Spirit’s Will to be Done

But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts... 1 Pet. 3:15

May we be in the divine and mystical realm as we learn to pray for the Father’s name to be sanctified, the Son’s kingdom to come, and the Spirit’s will to be done.

When we exercise our spirit as men in the flesh, we live in another realm – we touch God in the divine realm, and we become mystical persons, for we live one with God in the flesh.

We then pray one with the Lord, our Father, who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified!

From that time Jesus began to proclaim and to say, Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near. Matt. 4:17 And in the days of those kings the God of the heavens will raise up a kingdom which will never be destroyed... Dan. 2:44The people around us do not sanctify God’s name; even worse, they take the name of God in vain, they may even swear, and they think that God and Christ are just like any other philosopher or personality in history.

They make the name of Jesus Christ common. But we sanctify His name. We separate His name from all other names. We honour His name.

We pray in His name. We sanctify the name of God in the church life today. We don’t call upon the Father or speak the name of the Lord in a common way. Rather, we sanctify these holy names, Father, and Lord.

So we pray, O Father, Your name be sanctified!

As we sanctify the Father’s name, we consider our own living; is our living an expression of God? When people see us in our living, do they sense that the Father’s name is sanctified in us?

We may be at work, we may talk to our neighbours, or we may hang out with our friends; they need to see the Father’s name sanctified in our living.

We aspire to live Christ and express Him so that the Father’s name is sanctified. Amen!

We also pray, Lord Jesus, Your kingdom come! Amen, may the kingdom of Christ come!

We have been born into the kingdom of God, but outside of us the kingdom of Satan is everywhere (Matt. 3:2; 4:17; Dan. 2:44; Rev. 11:15). Everywhere we turn we see sorrow, bad news, fear, and all kinds of evil things.

If we just read the news or see what’s going on, our spirit is upset, for we want the kingdom of God to come and the kingdom of Satan to be uprooted!

So we exercise our spirit to live in the kingdom life in the church life today; we exercise to live in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17).

Today, people don’t have joy because they don’t have peace, and there’s no way to have peace because there’s no righteousness.

But we believers in Christ take Christ as our righteousness, we learn to live Christ as our righteousness, and we have peace; therefore, we have joy in the Holy Spirit.

In the church life today, we bring in the kingdom of God as we live according to the Spirit, and we pray for the kingdom to come among us and also around us. Amen!

Furthermore, we pray, Lord, Your will be done as in heaven so also on the earth!

The whole world is fallen, away from God, and is under the usurping hand of Satan, who rebelled against God (Ezek. 28:17; Isa. 14:13-15).

The will of God is not done on the earth, and people, families, groups of people, societies, and nations do not even consider what is the will of God. His will is done in the heavens, but not on the earth.

God created man with the intention of recovering the earth back to Himself (Gen. 1:26-28), but man fell.

So Christ came as the heavenly King to bring in the kingdom of the heavens, and He is working in us and through us to bring in the kingdom on the earth. He wants the will of God to be done on the earth.

First, the Lord Jesus took the Father’s will and lived it out, allowed it to limit Him, and took it as His portion while on the earth. Then, He is teaching us to pray for the will of God to be done on the earth.

O Jehovah our Lord, / How excellent is Your name / In all the earth, / You who have set Your glory over the heavens! Psa. 8:1 ...The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever. Rev. 11:15On earth, there are many dictators and presidents who reject the will of God and do not consider God.

Even our own boss and the managers of the large companies seem to reject God and not consider His will. But we pray for the will of God to be done on earth as in heaven.

We pray for His name to be sanctified, His kingdom to come, and His will to be done.

This is being fulfilled in this age and it will ultimately be fulfilled in the kingdom age. In the kingdom age, God’s name will be excellent in all the earth, the kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of Christ, and the will of God will be accomplished! Amen!

Today, we as kingdom people must pray for this until the earth is fully recovered for God’s will in the coming kingdom age.

May we take this to the Lord and may we let Him pray in us and through us such a prayer.

We need to pray for His name to be sanctified, for His kingdom to come, and for His will to be done.

Lord, we are one with You to pray as You taught us for Your kingdom to come on the earth! Amen, Father, may Your name be sanctified! Your name is holy and we worship You! We sanctify Your name in our life. Father, Your name be sanctified in the church so that, whatever we speak and whenever we speak, we exalt only Your name! May Your kingdom come in us and around us. May Your kingdom come in our being, in the church life, and in the family life. Amen, Lord, spread Your kingdom in us and bring us with all that is related to us under Your authority! Oh, may Your kingdom come on earth today! May Your heavenly dominion be here to govern our church life and our daily life. May the church life be the reality of the kingdom of God! Amen, Lord, may Your will be done in our life. We take Your will and we say Amen to Your perfect will. May Your will be done in the church life. May Your will be done on the whole earth! Amen, Lord, Your name be sanctified, Your kingdom come, and Your will be done!

In Matthew 6:9-13 we find the pattern of prayer. However, it is not the pattern for all prayers. The prayer presented here in Matthew 6 is absolutely different from the prayer taught in John. In Matthew 6 we are not told to pray in the Lord’s name, but in John 14 through 17 the Lord Jesus told us repeatedly to pray in His name. The reason for this difference is that the prayer here in Matthew is not related to life; it is related to the kingdom. In this short pattern of prayer the kingdom is mentioned at least twice. Verse 10 of chapter 6 says, “Your kingdom come,” and verse 13 says, “Yours is the kingdom.” The prayer in John, on the contrary, is related to life. Praying in the Lord’s name is not a matter of the kingdom but a matter of life. To pray in the Lord’s name means that we are one with the Lord. In praying to the Father, we are one with the Lord. Hence, we are praying in His name. To pray in the Lord’s name is actually to pray in the person of the Lord. We are praying with Him in one name and in one life. Therefore, we are one with Him in life, praying to God the Father…You must abide in the Lord and be one with Him. You must remain in your spirit and pray in oneness with Him. This is what it means to pray in His name. But the prayer in Matthew 6 concerns the kingdom. In other words, it is a fighting prayer, a prayer of warfare against God’s enemy for God’s kingdom.

We need to learn from the Lord Jesus to pray prayers that release God’s will and bring in the kingdom of God.

As we see the name of God being taken in vain, his kingdom rejected, and his will not done, we exercise our spirit to pray.

Father, may Your name be sanctified! Lord Jesus, may Your kingdom come! Oh, may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven! May Your kingdom come in us and around us. May Your will be done in our life and in the church life!

Amen brother. We should pray fighting prayers against the enemy of God.

Those under the kingdom of the heavens willingly come under God’s heavenly rule & restriction, counting it as joy to suffer the opposition of Satan and the world.

In us, the Father’s name is not taken in vain, His kingdom reigns, and His will is done. What a salvation!

Dear brother, God’s desire in creating man is to recover the earth.

For this Christ came following Satan’s rebellion and usurpation of the earth and the fall of man.

For this we must pray according to the pattern of prayer in Matthew 6 – the Father’s name would be sanctified – not treated in a common way, the Kingdom would come – not just within the church life but in its coming manifestation with the coming of the Son, and God’s will through the Spirit, would be done on earth as in heaven.

Lord recover such prayers in the church today according to Your life and person in oneness with You! Amen! O Father may Your name be excellent in all the earth! O Lord Jesus recover the Kingdom living today for Your coming Kingdom in its manifestation, for Your heavenly will to be carried out on earth as we are one spirit with You!

Ameen!!!

According to the pattern taught by the Lord in Matthew 6, there are three basic prayers concerning God are related to the Divine Trinity; “Your name be sanctified” is related mainly to the Father; “Your kingdom come,” to the Son; and “Your will be done,” to the Spirit. This pattern brings us out of self-centered supplication and ushers us into a realm where our praying is aligned with what God wants, what He is doing, and what He must have in His economy.

This prayer begins not with man but with God, not with earth but with heaven, not with our problems but with God’s name, kingdom, and will. In a short but weighty sequence, the Lord revealed that genuine prayer must first be occupied with God Himself—His sanctified name, His coming kingdom, and His accomplished will.

Amen!!!

Let’s delve into the profound depths of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. This prayer pattern, taught by Jesus to His disciples, is more than just a model for prayer; it’s a revelation of God’s heart and will.

In this prayer, we see three pivotal petitions concerning God’s glory: “Your name be sanctified,” “Your kingdom come,” and “Your will be done.” These declarations are intricately woven into the fabric of the Divine Trinity, echoing the Father’s sanctity, the Son’s kingdom, and the Spirit’s empowerment.

As we pray “Your name be sanctified,” we align ourselves with the Father’s desire for His name to be revered and glorified in all the earth (Psalm 8:1). When we declare “Your kingdom come,” we submit to Jesus’ lordship, anticipating the day when every knee shall bow (Revelation 11:15). And as we pray “Your will be done,” we invite the Holy Spirit to work in us, bringing God’s purposes to fruition on earth as they are in heaven.

This prayer is not merely a ritual; it’s a powerful catalyst for God’s will to be accomplished in our lives and in the world. As we pray, we partner with God in seeing His kingdom come, His will done, and His name glorified.

May we be diligent in praying this prayer, embracing God’s will, and advancing His kingdom. Let us yield to the Holy Spirit’s work, allowing God’s name to be sanctified, His kingdom to come, and His will to be done – on earth as it is in heaven.

In Matthew 6 the Lord Jesus unveiled a pattern of prayer that is different from our natural concept of prayer. This prayer is not primarily for personal needs, spiritual enjoyment, or individual blessing; rather, it is a prayer that touches God’s eternal desire and expresses His will on the earth.

When the Lord said, “You then pray in this way” (Matt. 6:9), He was not giving His disciples a form to recite but a divine pattern that governs the direction, content, and nature of kingdom prayer.

This is a prayer of warfare that stands against Satan’s usurpation of the earth and cooperates with God for the recovery of His dominion. Such a prayer is intrinsically related to the kingdom, not merely to life or personal spirituality.

Furthermore, this pattern of prayer unveils the Divine Trinity in a practical and experiential way: the Father in the sanctifying of the name, the Son in the coming of the kingdom, and the Spirit in the carrying out of the divine will. This prayer governs the church life today and prepares the way for the coming kingdom age, when God’s name will be openly sanctified, His kingdom fully manifested, and His will universally accomplished.

In the example of prayer given as a pattern by the Lord, the first three petitions imply the Trinity of the Godhead: “Your name be sanctified” is related mainly to the Father; “Your kingdom come,” to the Son; and “Your will be done,” to the Spirit. This is being fulfilled in this age, and it will be ultimately fulfilled in the coming kingdom age, when the name of God will be excellent in all the earth (Psa. 8:1), the kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of Christ (Rev. 11:15), and the will of God will be accomplished. Matt. 6:9 footnote 2 on, Your name be sanctified.

After the rebellion of Satan (Ezek. 28:17; Isa. 14:13-15), the earth fell into his usurping hand. Thus, the will of God could not be done on earth as in heaven. Hence, God created man with the intention of recovering the earth for Himself (Gen. 1:26-28). After the fall of man, Christ came to bring the heavenly rule to earth so that the earth could be recovered for God’s interest, so that the will of God could be done on earth as in heaven. This is why the new King established the kingdom of the heavens with His followers. The kingdom people must pray for this until the earth is fully recovered for God’s will in the coming kingdom age. Matt. 6:10 footnote 1 on, earth.
