Pray in the Divine Dispensing that the Triune God is Prevailing on Earth as in Heaven

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom. 14:17

Matthew 6 shows us the prayer the Lord teaches us to pray; this prayer begins with the Triune God and ends with the Triune God, and for us to pray in this way is to pray that the Triune God is prevailing on the earth as He is prevailing in the heavens. Amen!

May the Lord grant us to have a governing and controlling vision of the divine economy with the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in the whole Bible.

What the Bible shows us is not history, the law, prophecies, poetry, doctrines, and teachings; the Bible was written and composed according to a certain vision, which is that God wants to work Himself in His Divine Trinity into man.

Many Christians believe and know only that Christ came to die for me so that I won’t perish but go to heaven after I die; this is an incomplete gospel, for the gospel includes so much more!

God chose us, predestinated us, and selected us even from eternity past, and in time He is seeking us out as the Son through the sweeping of the Spirit in our heart so that we would come to our senses and return to our Father’s house.

The Triune God works together as one in His Divine Trinity to reach out to man, gain man, regenerate man, and make man part of the corporate expression of the Triune God in the universe, which is the church as the Body of Christ consummating in the New Jerusalem.

This is the vision that should govern us as we read the Bible; if we have in mind the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity for the building up of the Body of Christ as we read the Bible, we will open to the Lord much more, and He will work Himself into us more for the Body, the new man, the bride of Christ, and the New Jerusalem.

In particular this week we want to take a look at the book of Matthew and see how the Divine Trinity is moving both in the gospel of Matthew and also in our experience.

The Triune God is not for our theological understanding or mental apprehension; rather, the Triune God is for the divine dispensing of Himself in His Divine Trinity into man.

At the conception of Christ, the King-Savior presented in Matthew, we see the entire Triune God being involved in His divine dispensing.

The Son of God was conceived of the Holy Spirit as the divine essence mingled with the human essence, and the result was that this baby was called Emmanuel, God the Father with us.

This is in Matt. 1:18-23. Then, in Matt. 3:16-17 we see that at the baptism of Jesus the Father testified in the heavens, the Spirit descended as a dove, and the Son was on earth in the waters of baptism.

Both in His conception and in His baptism, the Triune God was actively involved and present to dispense Himself in His Divine Trinity for the carrying out of God’s purpose. Hallelujah!

What it means for the Father’s name to be Sanctified, the Son’s Kingdom to come, and the Spirit’s Will to be Done

You then pray in this way: Our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified; Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Matt. 6:9-10

In Matt. 6:9-10 the Lord Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray, that is, the principle of prayer; in the first part of the prayer we see three petitions which imply the Trinity of the Godhead.

“Your name be sanctified” is related mainly to the Father; “Your kingdom come” is related to the Son”, and “Your will be done”, to the Spirit.

What does it mean for the Father’s name to be sanctified? First of all, the ones who pray such prayer must be children of God, for only the children of God can call God their Father.

As children of God, we are born of God with His life and nature, and we have the authority and right to call God our Father (John 1:12).

We can’t call a person our father unless we’re born of him and he is our father. Praise the Lord, our Father who is in heaven has begotten us and we can call Him our Father!

For the Father’s name to be sanctified means that it is distinct and separate from anything that is common.

And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matt. 6:13We don’t sanctify our Father’s name merely by saying, Your name be sanctified; we must live a sanctified life and be sanctified persons, those who are separated from anything common and saturated with the holy nature of our Father.

We need to contact the Lord every day, be filled with Him, and be separated from anything that is common so that we may sanctify the Father’s name by our expressing the Father.

We should express the Father in our living, having a daily life that is separated to God and saturated with God; this is the real meaning of sanctification.

For the Father’s name to be sanctified, we should express Him in our living with a daily life separated unto God and saturated with God (1 Pet. 1:15-17; 2 Pet. 1:4; cf. Isa. 11:2).

For the kingdom of the Son to come, we must live a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit in our daily life today (Rom. 14:17).

We are here on earth as kingdom people; we belong not to the kingdom of Satan but to the kingdom of God.

Today the world we live in is not the kingdom of God but the kingdom of Satan, for Satan is the ruler of today’s world (John 12:31).

In the world today as the kingdom of Satan we don’t see any righteousness, any peace, and any joy; rather, though people may talk about righteousness, peace, and joy, these are all not present.

The United Nations talks about peace all the time, but there’s no peace, and the peace they try to bring in is by force and by war.

There cannot be peace unless there is righteousness, and righteousness is not present today, for the ruler of the world is unrighteous.

But praise the Lord, in the new heavens and new earth the unique thing that dwells is righteousness (2 Pet. 3:1).

In the church life today and in our Christian life we need to live a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit; we need to live one spirit with the Lord to have Him as our righteousness worked out in us and through us, live in peace with God and man, and rejoice in the Lord.

For us to hasten the coming of the kingdom of the Son of God, we need to live in and with the Divine Trinity, enjoying and experiencing the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in our daily living.

But according to the Holy One who called you, you yourselves also be holy in all [your] manner of life; Because it is written, "You shall be holy because I am holy." And if you call [as] Father the One who without respect of persons judges according to each one's work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear. 1 Pet. 1:15-17 Through which He has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption which is in the world by lust. 2 Pet. 1:4For the divine will to be done on earth is to bring the heavenly ruling, the kingdom of heavens, to this earth (Matt. 8:9).

Today what we see is Satan’s will being done, for his will is done in each country and in each locality, even in each family, through evil men; though his will is done temporarily, we pray for the divine will to be done on earth permanently.

Satan’s will is not fully carried out, for all evil men that cooperate with Satan eventually die; people like Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin were destroyed, and even Napoleon couldn’t fully carry out his will.

But we as children of our heavenly Father pray for His will to be done on earth, the kingdom of Son to come, and the will of God to be done in the Spirit on earth!

All this is being fulfilled in this age in miniature in the church life, and it will be ultimately fulfilled in the coming age.

When the name of God will be excellent in all the earth (Psa. 8:1), the kingdom of the world will come the kingdom of Christ (Rev. 11:15), and the will of God will be accomplished. Amen!

Today we pray and cooperate with the Lord for this, and we have a foretaste in the church life; in the coming age, the name of the Father will be sanctified and made excellent, the kingdom of the Son will fully come, and the will of God the Spirit will be done in full. Amen!

Father, may Your name be sanctified! Sanctify us through Your word and saturate us with Your holy nature so that we may express You in our daily living. Amen, Lord, we want to have a daily living separated unto God and saturated with God! Lord Jesus, may Your kingdom come on earth as in the heavens. May we live a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit! Amen, Lord, may Your kingdom come in its reality in the church life today and in full manifestation in the kingdom age! Lord, may Your will be done on earth as in the heaven; bring in the heavenly ruling on earth! Your will be done in our life. Amen, Lord, may Your name be sanctified, Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as in the heaven! Bring in that day when the name of God will be excellent in all the earth, the kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of Christ, and the will of God will be accomplished!

Praying that the Triune God will be Prevailing on the Earth as He is Prevailing in the Heavens!

You then pray in this way: Our Father who is in the heavens, Your name be sanctified; Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, [so] also on earth. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matt. 6:9-13The prayer the Lord taught us to pray in Matt. 6 is very deep and mysterious, and one thing that we notice is that it begins and it ends with the Triune God.

This prayer begins with the Triune God in the sequence of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit (vv. 9-10), and it ends with the Triune God but in the sequence of the Son, the Spirit, and the Father (v. 13).

The prayer begins with “Your name be sanctified” which is ascribed to the Father, “Your kingdom come” which is ascribed to the Son, and “Your will be done” which is ascribed to the Spirit.

Our prayer should begin with the Triune God, praying that the Triune God will be prevailing on the earth as He is prevailing in the heavens.

Then, the prayer ends with “Yours is the kingdom” (referring to the Son) “and the power” (referring to the Spirit) “and the glory” (referring to the Father) “forever. Amen.”

What we see here is the realization and praise of God’s kingdom, His power, and His glory.

The kingdom is of the Son, for it is the realm in which God exercises His power; the Son came to bring in the kingdom, and the kingdom is of the Son of God.

We have been transferred into this kingdom, and we live in the kingdom of the Son of God’s love to enjoy God and submit to His heavenly rule.

The power is of the Spirit, for the Spirit carries out God’s intention.

The spirit we have is not of cowardice but of power and of love and of sober-mindedness; the Spirit empowers our spirit to make our inner man strong, with the result that the Son makes His home in our heart (Eph. 3:16-18).

The glory is of the Father, who wants to be expressed in a corporate way through the many members of Christ, the Son, who are strengthened by the power of the Spirit.

The prayer the Lord Jesus taught us to pray begins with the Triune God in the sequence of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and it ends with the Triune God in the sequence of the Son, the Spirit, and the Father.

God the Father is the Alpha, the beginning, and the Omega, the end; His name is sanctified and He gets all the glory.

When all is had and done, the Father’s name is excellent in all the earth and He gains all the glory.

The prayer to the Father concludes in this way: “For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen” (6:13). Here is the realization and praise of God’s kingdom, power, and glory. This also refers to the Triune God. The kingdom is of the Son, which is the realm in which God exercises His power. The power is of the Spirit, which carries out God’s intention so that the Father can express His glory. This indicates that the prayer that the Lord taught us to pray begins with the Triune God, in the sequence of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit, and ends also with the Triune God, but in the sequence of the Son, the Spirit, and the Father. Thus, the prayer taught by the Lord in His supreme teaching begins with God the Father and ends also with God the Father. God the Father is both the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. The God-man Living, Chapter 11, by Witness LeeThe Son’s kingdom is coming on earth and He gets the kingdom for eternity; He is the King and we will be the many co-kings with Him in the eternal kingdom.

The Spirit’s will is done on earth and the power of the Spirit will be manifested for eternity; we will have this power for we are one with this Spirit forever.

Our real prayer, the principle prayer, should be structured with the Divine Trinity; we need to pray for the Triune God to be prevailing on this earth even as He is prevailing in the heavens.

In the heavens the Father’s name is sanctified, the Son has His kingdom, and the will of the Spirit is done; on earth, however, we need to pray prevailing prayers for the Triune God to be prevailing on earth as in heaven.

We need to pray for His name to be sanctified, for His kingdom to come, and for His will to be done, and we need to conclude with the fact that the kingdom is the Son’s, the power is the Spirit’s, and the Father gets all the glory.

May this affect and uplift our prayer life and our experience of prayer.

May we have a life of petition and intercession in which we pray with the Divine Trinity, praying under the dispensing of the Divine Trinity, so that the Triune God may be prevailing on earth as He is in the heavens.

Lord Jesus, uplift our prayer and bring it to Your standard. Amen, Lord, may Your name be sanctified, Your kingdom come, and Your will be done! Hallelujah, Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever! Amen, dear Lord, keep us under the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity in our daily life. We pray that the Triune God would be prevailing on earth as He is in the heavens. Amen, Father, may You gain all the glory! Amen, Son, may Your kingdom come and be established on earth! Amen, Lord, may Your will be done and may the power of the Spirit be manifested! Amen, may the Triune God be prevailing on earth as He is prevailing in the heavens!
