Everything in the Church Life must be in the Nature of Life for the Imparting of Life

The church as the increase of Christ is a matter of life, and everything in the church must be in the nature of life, with the content of life, and in the imparting of life. The church is not a building; the church is the increase of Christ, the … [Continue reading]

Picking up a Burden to Care for People and being Genuinely Interested in them

Prov. 11:25 The blessing soul will prosper, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

After we have an adequate contact with the Lord, allow Him to shine on us and expose us, and consecrate ourselves to Him, we need to pick up a burden to care for people and be genuinely interested in them to minister life to them. In order for us to … [Continue reading]

Spending Time with the Lord to Listen to His Word and be Dealt with in His Light

Isa. 50:4-5 The Lord Jehovah has given me the tongue of the instructed, that I should know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens me morning by morning; He awakens my ear to hear as an instructed one. The Lord Jehovah has opened my ear...

In order for us to minister life to others so that Christ may increase in them, we need to spend adequate time with the Lord to listen to His word and be dealt with by Him under His light. The church is a matter of life; the church is the increase of … [Continue reading]

Being One with the Lord to Minister Life to others by our Life-giving Petition

Many saints are not sick physically, but they are sick spiritually. They need us to pray for them and to give them life. We all need to be trained and to practice to take care of the weaker ones who are short of life and sick spiritually. In the churches it is often the case that death, rather than life, spreads from mouth to mouth. Therefore, there is the need of some stronger ones to minister life to stop the spread of death and to swallow up death. This is the main purpose of the service in the church. Witness Lee

The matter of the increase of Christ for the building up of the church is something very particular, touching on God's heart's desire to dispense Himself into man so that He may obtain a corporate expression. The increase of Christ is in us, the … [Continue reading]

Having the Upper Room Consecration today to be the Continuation of the Book of Acts

It is a small number who will turn the world and change the age; if we would be in the upper room, we need to pray in a specific way and say, “Lord, I am willing to be in the upper room for the recovery of Your testimony.” Witness Lee

In order for us today to be the increase of Christ in the continuation of the book of Acts we need to have an upper room consecration for the Lord's move, His recovery. In the book of Acts we see the propagation of the resurrected Christ in His … [Continue reading]

Praying over, Experiencing, and Carrying out our Divine Commission (Acts 26:18)

Acts 26:18 reveals the work that we must do today for the increase and building up of the Body of Christ; this verse unveils the all-inclusive contents of our divine commission—“to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me”. Witness Lee

As those who live in Acts chapter 29 (the continuation of the book of Acts), we need to realize that we have been commissioned by the Lord to be His witnesses and ministers, those who open people's eyes, turn them from darkness to light and from the … [Continue reading]

Seeing the Pattern of the Apostle Paul as one who Lived Christ for His Magnification

Apparently the apostle, as a prisoner in bonds, had entered the area of the dark capital of the Satan-usurped empire. Actually, as the ambassador of Christ with His authority (Eph. 6:20; Matt. 28:18-19), he had come into another part of the participation in His church’s Body life in the kingdom of God on earth. While he was suffering the persecution of religion in the empire of Satan, he was enjoying the church life in the kingdom of God, which was a comfort and an encouragement to him. Witness Lee

What we see in the book of Acts is not only a record of what the apostles and disciples did after the Lord left but the continuation of Christ, Jesus living again in the many members of His Body for His corporate expression. Today we are in "Acts … [Continue reading]
