Offer Ourselves as a Living Sacrifice and Offer Christ to God for His Satisfaction

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness. John 4:24

For us to live a life of the continual burnt offering is to be a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction; we need to worship God with Christ as the burnt offering for God’s satisfaction to fulfil His desire. Amen!

God created us in His image and according to His likeness for us to express God and represent Him, but because of the fall, we express ourselves and not God.

We should be for nothing else but God, and our living should be absolutely for God, but because we are fallen, we are absolutely for ourselves.

However, the Lord Jesus as the Son of God came, and He lived a life absolutely for God.

He fully satisfied the Father by His living, His being, and His work, and the Father delighted in the Son.

This One, Jesus Christ, went through death and resurrection, and now He is the life-giving Spirit in our spirit.

We can contact Him, experience Him, and enjoy Him, and we can take Him as our burnt offering.

We can enjoy Christ and experience Him as our burnt offering, and we can offer Him to God for His satisfaction.

To present an offering is something very intimate, it is a sweet and personal contact with the Lord.

As we come to approach God, seeking to satisfy Him and be one with Him, we realize that we are not absolute for God, so we take Christ and offer Him to God for His satisfaction.

Only Christ ascending to God can satisfy God, and only our offering of the Christ we enjoy and experience can make God happy.

May we lay our hands upon Christ and be identified with Him, and may we offer Him as our burnt offering to God for His satisfaction and delight.

And may we remain in the organic union with the Lord all throughout the day, contacting Him and remaining in our spirit so that He would live in us.

May Gal. 2:20 become our reality today in our daily living as we remain in the organic union with the Lord, being crucified with Him so that He may live in us and we would live Christ.

In ourselves, we are not absolute for God, but Christ in us is absolute for God, and we can be identified with Him and let Him live in us.

Because we’re not absolute for God and we cannot be absolute for God in ourselves, we need to take Christ as our burnt offering, and we can live a burnt offering church life for God’s satisfaction. Amen!

Living a Life of the Continual Burnt Offering by Offering ourselves to God as a Living Sacrifice for God’s Satisfaction

I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service. Rom. 12:1

What does it mean for us to live a life of the continual burnt offering in our Christian life? It is to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction.

This is what Rom. 12:1 says, that we offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice, which is our reasonable service.

The meaning of consecration is that we are a sacrifice.

In the Old Testament men offered bullocks, rams, or lambs to God as sacrifices, but we in the New Testament offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God for His satisfaction.

The principle is that the animal to be offered originally lived in a corral and was used for things such as ploughing the field, drawing the cart, etc, but when it was offered to God, it was brought to the altar. There was a change in position.

Then, the animal was slaughtered, killed, and placed on the altar, and it was consumed by fire for God’s satisfaction.

If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall present it, a male without blemish; he shall present it at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, that he may be accepted before Jehovah. And he shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him, to make expiation for him...Then Aaron's sons the priests shall arrange the pieces, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire which is on the altar; But its inward parts and its legs he shall wash with water. Then the priest shall burn the whole on the altar, as a burnt offering, an offering by fire, a satisfying fragrance to Jehovah. Lev. 1:3-4, 8-9Therefore, its use was changed, and it was fully consumed by fire for God’s satisfaction.

What God desires is the burnt offering for His satisfaction, and we can satisfy God by offering ourselves to Him as a living sacrifice.

There is a difference between the Old Testament and the New Testament sacrifices; in the Old Testament the sacrifices were dead, but in the New Testament they are living.

We who belong to God need to offer ourselves as a burnt offering daily to God for His satisfaction.

What God desires is not that we do many things for Him but that we offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice for His satisfaction.

In our daily living, we need to live a life of the continual burnt offering by being a living sacrifice.

We have been justified by God and reconciled to God, and we are being sanctified and transformed, and we need to still offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God for His satisfaction.

We need to realize that, as we live under the divine dispensing receiving the Triune God dispensing Himself into us, we need to cooperate with the inner operating law of life by offering ourselves to the Lord as a living sacrifice.

By the compassions of God, it is reasonable for us to serve God by living the life of the burnt offering. We do this by presenting our bodies.

We contacted the Spirit in our spirit, we are identified with Christ, and we present our bodies as a living sacrifice.

The burnt offering is a type of our consecration, of our offering ourselves to God as a living sacrifice.

The meaning of consecration is to offer ourselves to God as a living sacrifice (Lev. 1:3-4, 8-9; 6:9, 12, 13; Rom. 12:1).

The meaning of our consecration is to be a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction. The purpose of our consecration is to live to the Lord (2 Cor. 5:15).

Living to the Lord is higher than living for Him. We may live for the Lord and yet we are we and He is Him, and we still do some things in and for ourselves.

But to live to the Lord, we and Him must become one.

For us to live to the Lord and be a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction, we and Him must become one.

When we live to the Lord, we take Him not only as our life but also as our person.

In the New Testament, we who belong to God should offer ourselves as a burnt offering daily to God for His satisfaction. The difference is that the Old Testament people offered dead sacrifices, whereas we offer living sacrifices… To offer ourselves to the Lord is to be a sacrifice for His satisfaction. What matters is not what we do for the Lord, but that we satisfy Him. This is the real significance of our consecration to the Lord. The purpose of our consecration to the Lord is to live to Him [2 Cor. 5:15]. Living to Him is higher than living for Him. When we live for Him, we and He may still be two, but when we live to Him, we and He must become one. When we live to Him, we take Him not only as our life but also as our person. In all our living and actions, we should cooperate with Him and allow Him to live Himself through us. Life Lessons, vol. 2, pp. 44-45, by Witness LeeMay we live the life of the burnt offering day by day by offering ourselves willingly to Him to be a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction.

And may we be those who live not only for the Lord but to the Lord, to the One who loved us and died for us and has been raised.

The fire on the altar of burnt offering was to burn day and night, and it should not go out. It shall not go out.

We need to present ourselves as a living sacrifice in full consecration with our whole being.

This is for God’s enjoyment and satisfaction, for our offering to Him as His food. He is satisfied with our offering.

We believers in Christ who belong to God should offer ourselves daily to God (Num. 28:3-8).

Today in our Christian life and church life there’s the need for the continual burnt offering.

This is a miraculous normality – it is miraculous because God is satisfied yet it is normal because we do this in a normal way, day by day.

Our offering of the burnt offering is something at the tent of meeting, which means that our offering ourselves to God as a living sacrifice is for the church life and is related to the church life.

Lord Jesus, we offer ourselves to You as a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction. We are not our own, Lord, we belong to You! We want to live not for our own interest or purpose but for God’s interest and His satisfaction. Amen, Lord, we belong to You, and we offer ourselves as a burnt offering to God for His satisfaction. We don’t want to merely do things for God but even more, be for God’s satisfaction. We want to live to the Lord, for He died for us and has been raised. Amen, Lord, we no longer live to ourselves but to the Lord so that He may be satisfied. May our daily living in the Christian life be for God’s satisfaction. We want to live the life of the continual burnt offering by being a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction!

We need to Worship God the Father with Christ as the Burnt Offering for God’s Satisfaction

And He died for all that those who live may no longer live to themselves but to Him who died for them and has been raised. 2 Cor. 5:15As believers in Christ, we need to worship God the Father with Christ as the burnt offering for God’s satisfaction to fulfil His desire (John 4:23-24).

The worship that God desires to have is in spirit and truthfulness, that is, in our mingled spirit and with Christ as the reality of all the offerings.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truthfulness. God is seeking proper worship.

Many Christians think that the way we should worship God is by bowing down to Him, kneeling down before Him, and humbling ourselves to praise Him and worship Him.

But the New Testament clearly shows us that God desires to gain true worshippers, those who worship Him in spirit and in reality.

In a sense, the Lord is not seeking our praising and our singing; what He wants is true worship in spirit and with Christ as the burnt offering for God’s satisfaction.

This means that we need to enjoy and experience Christ day by day, and we need to worship God by offering Christ to Him as the burnt offering for His satisfaction.

Genuine worship which satisfies God is a matter of coming to Him and offering Him the Christ we have experienced. God delights in Christ and with Christ, and He is pleased when we offer Him the Christ we have enjoyed and experienced.

Day by day we need to have an increased experience of Christ, and when we come together, we need to offer Him according to the experiences we have had in our daily life.

This is the worship that the Father is seeking today.

The worship that satisfies God’s heart is our offering Christ as the burnt offering for His satisfaction.

Paul aspired to know Christ and be found in Him. He told us that we can be conformed to the death of Christ by experiencing the sustaining and strengthening power of Christ’s resurrection (Phil. 3:10).

We can be conformed to the death of Christ by the power of His resurrection.

As one hymn by A. B. Simpson says, “‘Tis not hard to die with Christ when His risen life we know'” (Hymns 481).

As believers in Christ, we have an all-sufficient supply within us – the Spirit of Christ in resurrection.

In Christ and by Christ as the Spirit who gives life, we can do all things, for He empowers us (Phil. 4:13).

How can we live a life of the burnt offering by offering ourselves as a living sacrifice for God’s satisfaction? It is in Christ and by Christ.

Command the children of Israel and say to them, My offering, My food for My offerings by fire of a satisfying fragrance to Me, you shall be careful to present to Me at its appointed time. Num. 28:2 But an hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truthfulness, for the Father also seeks such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness. John 4:23-24In Christ and by Christ we do all the things related to experiencing Christ as the burnt offering.

When we’re in Christ and live one with Him, we can live a victorious life in the church life, and we can overcome any difficulties in our Christian life.

We can experience Christ in His experiences and we can offer the Christ we have experienced to God for His satisfaction.

God is satisfied with Christ, and when His Christ is experienced by us and offered to Him in our prayer and praising, God is satisfied.

God wants us to worship Him in spirit and with Christ as the reality of all the offerings; the offerings are for pleasing God and making Him happy.

Proper worship is a matter of satisfying God with Christ as the burnt offering (1 Pet. 2:5; John 4:34; 5:30; 8:29).

When we worship God the Father with Christ as the reality of the burnt offering, a fragrance well-pleasing to God will ascend to Him for His satisfaction (Lev. 1:9; John 4:23-24).

Since God is satisfied with our offering to Him Christ as the reality of the burnt offering, He will render His sweet acceptance to us; this is the significance of the burnt offering.

May we learn to experience and enjoy Christ day by day as our burnt offering, and may we offer the Christ we enjoyed to God for His satisfaction in our worship of Him.

Lord Jesus, we want to worship God the Father with Christ as the burnt offering for God’s satisfaction to fulfil His desire. Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit to worship God in spirit and with Christ as the reality of all the offerings. We come to You, dear Lord, and we want to worship You not in our own way but in the way ordained by God, with Christ and in the spirit. We want to satisfy God with Christ as the burnt offering in our worship to God. May a fragrance well-pleasing to God ascend to God for His satisfaction. Amen, may God be satisfied with our offering of Christ as the reality of the burnt offering! Father God, we want Your sweet acceptance. We offer to You the Christ that we have enjoyed and experienced for Your satisfaction!

In Philippians 3:10 Paul tells us that we can be conformed to Christ’s death if we experience the sustaining and strengthening power of Christ’s resurrection.

In one of his hymns, A. B. Simpson says, “’Tis not hard to die with Christ when His risen life we know” (Hymns, #481)…We have an all-sufficient supply within us, and this supply is the Spirit of Christ in His resurrection. This was the reason Paul could say, “I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me” (Phil. 4:13).

In Him and by Him we can do all the things related to experiencing Christ as the burnt offering. In Him and by Him we can live an overcoming life in our married life and a victorious life in the church life, overcoming all difficulties in our family life and all problems in the church life…

We can experience Christ in His experiences and have Him to offer to God as the burnt offering.

When we offer a burnt offering in smoke to God, a fragrance well-pleasing to God will ascend to Him for His satisfaction and rest. Since God is satisfied, He will render His sweet acceptance to us. This is the significance of the burnt offering.

We need to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to the Lord for His satisfaction, and we need to live to the Lord.

What a privilege it is to experience Christ in His experiences and offer Him to God for His satisfaction.

Lord, we give ourselves to You for Your satisfaction. We want to experience Christ and offer Him to God for His satisfaction.

Ameeen!!!

The meaning of consecration is to be a sacrifice. All the sacrifices belong to God and are for His use and enjoyment. There is a change of place, ownership, purpose, and usage.

The purpose of consecration is to live to Him, to take Him as our life and person. The Lord and us are one.

Lord may we see the preciousness of consecration. What privilege to offer ourselves as food that You may be satisfied.

Lord we offer ourselves that You may gain Your purpose in us to make the same as You are, to make us one with You and You one with us. That You may have Your dwelling place and rest. Amen

We who belong to God should offer ourselves daily as a burnt offering to God for His satisfaction.

What matters is not what we do for the Lord, but that we satisfy Him. Living to God is higher than living for Him.

Our God desires that we and Him would become one.

We need to take Him not only as our life but also as our person.

Thanks to the Lord we have an all-sufficient supply within us.

If we allow Jesus to live Himself through us, the Spirit of Christ in His resurrection is able to empower us to live in Him and by Him and for Him.

O Lord! We desire to be Your satisfaction & rest.

Dear brother, if we are to be consecrated to God, to experience Christ as the burnt offering, we must take Him as our life and person.

This is to no longer to live for ourselves, but having experienced a change in position and usage, to live to Him for the Father’s satisfaction.

O Lord Jesus thank You, You are the all-sufficient supply for us to live You as our life and person to live to God as a living sacrifice! Amen! We want to be those who satisfy God by enjoying and experience His life and person!

“I exhort you therefore, brothers, through the compassions of God to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1)

O Lord as we consecrate ourselves May we live to you in our mingled spirit. Your desires become our desires and you are satisfied as we offer Christ as the burnt sacrifice.
