The Name of Jesus is the Highest Name in the Universe: we’re Joined to Him in Spirit

Therefore also God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name. Phil. 2:9

The name of Jesus is the highest name, the greatest name in the universe; He emptied Himself and humbled Himself to the uttermost, and God raised Him to the highest peak, giving Him the highest name in the universe! Hallelujah!

This week in our morning revival we come to the topic of, Doing All Things in the Name of the Lord Jesus.

We believers in Christ can call on the name of the Lord Jesus and do all things in His name.

We have the most wonderful name of Jesus to call on and enjoy God’s salvation.

When we call on His name, we are much saved in His life, and we delight ourselves in God, that is, we enjoy Him.

Praise the Lord for the matter of calling on His name.

He has recovered this practice among us today and we richly enjoy the Lord as we call on His name, for He is rich to all who call on Him, no matter the nationality or background (Rom. 10:13; Acts 2:21).

On one hand, we call on the name of the Lord to enjoy His riches. On the other hand, we need to do all things in the name of the Lord.

We need to be brought back to Christ in all things, realizing that He should be our focus and our center, and we should simply enjoy Him, live Him, and magnify Him.

Daily our prayer must be, Lord, bring me back to You! Deliver me from any distracting thing and bring me back to the enjoyment and experience of Christ for the genuine church life!

There are so many things around us and in us that distract our focus; they may be good things, but they distract us from the enjoyment of Christ.

So we need to return to Christ. God in His economy wants to make Christ everything to us.

If He is everything to us, we are nothing; if He becomes everything to us, He will be our living and our person.

We need to learn Christ as the reality is in Jesus, especially having the human living of Jesus being duplicated in us so that Christ would live in us the life of the meal offering.

May He be the One who lives in us and is expressed through us. And may we take Him as our person.

We can take Him as our person by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus, and we take Him as our person by doing all things in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

To do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus is to take Christ as our person.

When Christ is our person, we do everything, both big and small things, in the name of the Lord Jesus, and we magnify Christ in our living.

What a Christ we have! In the eyes of those around us, He may be quite small or even non-existent, but we love Him and enjoy Him, we take Him as our person and do all things in His name, and we magnify Him before others.

Today we want to see the matter of the name of the Lord Jesus, the highest name in the universe.

The Name of Jesus is the Highest Name in the Universe: He Humbled Himself to the Uttermost and God Exalted Him to the Highest Peak!

Therefore also God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Phil. 2:9-10

In His ascension, Christ was exalted by God and gave Him the name that is above every name. He humbled Himself to the lowest extent, even that of a slave, and He died the death of a cross to accomplish redemption.

Therefore, God highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that in the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth (Phil. 2:9-10).

The highest name in the universe is the name of Jesus. The greatest name in the universe is the name of Jesus.

He was called Jesus when He was born out of a virgin, and He went through a long process of human living, crucifixion, death, resurrection, and ascension.

Then, in His ascension, Christ is the God-exalted One, and He has received the name that is above every name.

But emptied Himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming in the likeness of men; and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient even unto death, and that the death of a cross...That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should openly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Phil. 2:7-8; 10-11The Lord emptied Himself, and being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself to the uttermost; but God exalted Him to the highest peak (vv. 7-8).

From the time of Christ’s ascension, there has never been a name on earth or in the heavens above the name of Jesus.

God exalted Him to be the Lord of all, and we can call on this highest name in the universe by saying, O Lord Jesus!

We need to confess His name openly and declare that Jesus Christ is Lord.

As believers in Christ, we need to call on the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:13).

The name of Jesus is the highest name in the universe, for God has exalted Him to the highest peak in the universe.

The name of Jesus is the greatest name in the universe, for He is on the throne, being Lord of all.

When He was on earth, man could see Him expressing God, but they did not realize that He is God Himself.

Even in His resurrection, Christ was still under the heavens, not yet above all; however, in His ascension, He was raised to the highest peak in the universe, and God gave Him the highest name in the universe.

Now in the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should openly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father (Phil. 2:10-11).

Something wonderful happened in Christ’s ascension: He was raised to the highest peak, and His name is the highest name in the universe.

Now all beings on all the three levels of the universe – heaven, earth, and under the earth – need to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

The ones in heaven are angels, the ones on earth are men, and those under the earth are the dead.

The day is coming when all the beings on all three levels will bow their knees and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. They will openly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord!

To confess that Jesus Christ is Lord is to call on the name of the Lord; this is something we should do every day (Rom. 10:9-10, 12-13).

This Man, Jesus Christ, was made the Lord in His ascension by God the Father.

We confess that He is Lord, and we give Him all the glory so that God the Father may be glorified.

By His exaltation, the Lord Jesus has been given the name which is above every name, far above every name that is named (Eph. 1:20-21).

Which He caused to operate in Christ in raising Him from the dead and seating Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, Far above all rule and authority and power and lordship and every name that is named not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Eph. 1:20-21God the Father raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies, far above all rule and authority and power and lordship, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Wow!

There have been many great names in history, but no name was higher or will be higher than the name of Jesus Christ, for His name is the highest name in the universe.

This name, Jesus, is the expression of the sum total of what the Lord Jesus is in His person and work (Eph. 1:21).

The Father was embodied and expressed in the Son, the Son became the Spirit, and now the Spirit comes to enter into us; when we receive the Spirit, we receive the sum total of what God is in Christ and by the Spirit.

On one hand, we need to call on the name of the Lord to enjoy all His riches and be joined to Him organically.

On the other hand, we need to call on His name to enthrone Him, confessing to all that Jesus Christ is Lord, having the highest and greatest name in the universe.

On one hand, we call on the highest name in the universe to praise Him and enthrone Him; on the other hand, this name is life-giving, strengthening, overcoming, and comforting.

What a name! We exalt His name high and we praise His name again and again!

Lord Jesus, we praise Your name! Hallelujah for the name of Jesus, the highest name in the universe! Thank You for coming as a man, emptying Yourself and, being found in fashion as a man, humbling Yourself to the uttermost. Praise the Lord, God has exalted Christ to the highest peak and has given Him the name which is above every name, far above every name that is named! Jesus is the greatest and highest name in the universe! Lord, we praise Your name! We confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we call on the name of the Lord! Oh, what a name! Jesus is a life-giving name, comforting name, and strengthening name! Jesus is the name of the highest person in the universe who has come to be our life and our everything! Lord, we enthrone You and we praise You! We exalt Your name and we extol You! Hallelujah, God raised Jesus Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies! Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ is far above all rule and authority and power and lordship! The name of Jesus is above every name that is name, not only in this age but also in that which is to come! We praise the name of Jesus!

We build the Church by being in Ascension with Christ – we’re the Body of the Ascended and Exalted Head!

Even when we were dead in offenses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) and raised us up together with Him and seated us together with Him in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus. Eph. 2:5-6When someone in society is raised in rank and has a great name, such a matter does not affect us, for most men are not part of his family or his entourage.

We may be amazed at the things he does, but many of those things do not affect us at all, and we cannot partake of what he accomplishes.

But in the case of Jesus Christ, it is altogether different.

The Bible clearly tells us that Jesus Christ was ascended by God the Father and was bestowed with the highest name in the universe, and in His name, all knees shall bow.

What does this have to do with us? Are we as Christians merely those who honor the name of Jesus today and take the lead to call on His name?

What does this have to do with our daily living and with our Christian life and church life?

Eph. 2:5-6 tells us that we believers in Christ were not only made alive with Christ but also have been seated with Him in the heavenlies.

In other words, through our faith in Christ, we have been joined to this One who has the highest name in the universe.

He is not only someone far away from us, distant, very high, whom we cannot approach or touch; we have been organically joined to Him as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17).

All believers in Christ are joined to the Lord in their mingled spirit, and they can build up the church in resurrection and ascension as an entity completely out of Christ.

Only those who are in ascension can be built up because only they are overcomers, those who have transcended the enemy.

If we still live on earth and do not live in our spirit, we will have earthly views and earthly feelings, and we cannot be built up with others in the church.

Our earthly views and feelings become problems when we engage in the work of the building of the church.

We need to realize that we have been joined to the Lord in spirit and we are seated with Him in the heavenlies.

Now we can build up the church in ascension, one with the Lord. Christ has completely dealt with the enemy.

Through His death, He has destroyed the one who has the might of death, the devil.

In ascension the Lord transcended and conquered all the enemies. The enemies were not completely dealt with in the Lord’s resurrection because before His ascension He was still under the air, that is, under all the enemies, rulers, and authorities. It was not until He ascended that He displayed to the entire universe that He had overcome all, transcended all, and conquered all. It was then that He arrived at the highest place of the universe and sat down, having received the highest name, the highest position, and the highest authority. In ascension Jesus was made Christ, and everything was subjected under His feet. Today He is the Head, and we are His Body. As His Body we are sitting together with Him in the heavenlies. Only when we have arrived at such a transcendent and ascendant position will it be possible for us to build the church. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, vol. 4, pp. 517-518In His resurrection, He overcame the power of death and has been begotten by God to be His firstborn Son, and He became a life-giving Spirit.

And in His ascension, He was raised above all things and persons to be at the highest peak of the universe, and He was given the name that is above every name.

In His ascension, Christ displayed to the entire universe that He had overcome all, transcended all, and conquered all.

He arrived at the highest place of the universe and sat down. he received the highest name, the highest position, and the highest authority.

God made the Lord Jesus, a man, both Lord and Christ, and everything was put under His feet, being subject to Him. And this One is the Head of the Body, the church.

We are organically joined to the Lord Jesus, the One who has the highest name, the Lord of all.

As His Body, we are the Body of the ascended Head, and everything is under His feet.

Therefore, everything is under our feet also. When we are in our spirit, we are one with Him and are sitting together with Him in the heavenlies, far above all things.

May we remain here in our mingled spirit day by day, in the position of ascension, so that we may build up the church as the Body of the ascended Head, Christ!

Lord Jesus, we praise You for being ascended far above all and being given the highest and greatest name in the universe. Praise the Lord, in His ascension Christ displayed to the entire universe that He overcame all, transcended all, and conquered all! Hallelujah, Christ is at the highest place in the universe and has received the highest name, position, and authority! And we as believers in Christ are joined to Him in spirit. Wow, in our spirit we are one with the ascended Christ, sharing in His lordship and kingship! Thank You, Lord, for not only making us alive together with Christ but also seating us together with Him in the heavenlies! Keep us here, living and dwelling in our mingled spirit where we are one with the Lord in the heavenlies, so that we may build up the church as the Body of the ascended Head! Hallelujah for the church, the glorious Body of the ascended Head, Jesus Christ!

A person who remains on the earth always has earthly views and earthly feelings. These views and feelings will become a problem when he engages in the work of building the church. In ascension the Lord transcended and conquered all the enemies. Our Lord came in the Father’s name and did things in the Father’s name.

He was one with the Father; He lived by the Father; and the Father worked in Him.

Similarly, we have the authority to use the name of Jesus because we are seated together with Him in ascension in the heavenlies.

Lord Jesus, we take Your authority to live by You and for You to work in us…

How we love the glorious name – the name of Jesus! His name is above all names!

He is the one, who having emptied and humbled Himself, was exalted by God to be far above all!

We need to openly confess this one by calling “O Lord Jesus” to be saved afresh!

O LORD JESUS! Praise the Lord His name is the greatest name and at His name every knee should bow – in heaven, on earth or under the earth!
