Living a Christian Life according to the Miraculous Normality of the Divine Economy

A life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing is according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

As believers in Christ, we have a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy; the things of God that we experience are miraculous, but we enjoy and experience them in a normal way. Hallelujah!

Many Christians expect that God would do some supernatural things for them such as healing them or healing others through them, rescuing them from things, or some other supernatural thing.

But our Christian life seems to be so normal and quiet, even calm, that many times we may wonder if anything is going on.

All the things that the Triune God gives to us through His dispensing are quiet and calm.

Our life as believers should be a quiet and calm life under the divine dispensing.

We need to learn to be satisfied with normal days under the divine dispensing.

It should be OK for us to have routine, normal, mundane days under the divine dispensing.

We need to day by day live in this way, simply living an ordinary life of receiving the divine dispensing.

Humanly speaking, we live day by day a normal life of eating, drinking, and breathing, and something happens within us: we grow in life, we develop, and there’s a growth unto maturity.

Spiritually speaking, as long as we take care of breathing the Lord as the Spirit, eating Him in His word, and drinking the Spirit by calling on the name of the Lord, we grow in the divine life.

We may drive to work and the cars in front of us may be quite slow, so we need to wait for more than two minutes at the traffic light; while we’re waiting, we can open to the Lord to receive His divine dispensing.

We may take the bus to work and we may just miss the bus, so we need to wait for a few minutes for the next bus; while we’re waiting, we can simply contact the Lord and enjoy Him.

We don’t have many special days with exhilarating events happening in our life; most of our life is normal and ordinary.

Yet in these normal days with ordinary things, as we do this and that, we need to enjoy the Lord and contact Him to remain open to His divine dispensing.

We may visit someone, we may just do our income tax, or we may take care of our garden; even in these mundane things, we can call on the name of the Lord and enjoy His divine dispensing.

Yes, our life is one of ordinary days, but it is under the divine dispensing, because we enjoy a miraculous normality in the divine economy.

May we remain open to the Lord, opening our vessel to Him again and again to receive and enjoy His divine dispensing.

And may we not seek spectacular or extraordinary things in our Christian life but rather, enjoy ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

Having a Life of Ordinary Days in the Divine Dispensing according to the Miraculous Normality of the Divine Economy

Nor to give heed to myths and unending genealogies, which produce questionings rather than God's economy, which is in faith. 1 Tim. 1:4 And to enlighten all that they may see what the economy of the mystery is, which throughout the ages has been hidden in God, who created all things. Eph. 3:9The greatest miracle in the universe is that a man can be born of God; regeneration is the greatest miracle, but it was such a normal thing, with nothing out of ordinary.

Our experiences of Christ, of the Spirit, of the Triune God, and of the divine life with the divine nature are altogether normal experiences.

We believers in Christ have a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy (1 Tim. 1:4; Eph. 3:9).

Look at your Christian experience: your experience of Christ, your enjoyment of Christ, and your going on with the Lord are not something supernatural but miraculous, yet they are so normal.

If we study the Bible and our Christian experience, we realize that in our Christian life, the things that we experience of Christ, of the Triune God, of the Spirit, and of the divine life with the divine nature are so normal to us.

Yes, they are miraculous, for we experience God in so many things, but they are so normal.

We live a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing, and this is according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

Some Christians, however, may think or desire that we need to fulfil certain conditions, meet certain requirements, and achieve certain high levels of maturity in order to experience something of God.

Some inner-life teachers wrote concerning the spiritual and divine things that we can experience, that they are not easy to attain but that there need to be deeper and higher experiences that we need to go through to achieve them.

However, the more we try to experience according to their instructions, the more we realize that, on one hand, these are miraculous things, and on the other hand, they are so normal.

Our experience testifies and the Bible confirms that the experiences of the Spirit in God’s New Testament economy are not supernatural or out of ordinary; they are normal.

We are having a life of ordinary days enjoying the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity, and it is a miraculous normality in our Christian life that we can contact the Lord, breathe Him in, eat Him, and experience Him.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name, Who were begotten not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 Through which He has granted to us precious and exceedingly great promises that through these you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption which is in the world by lust. 2 Pet. 1:4All the spiritual and divine things that are provided by God for our enjoyment are altogether normal.

Satan would like us to believe that it is too hard and too deep to experience certain things that the Bible tells us, and the enemy puts in us a fear of praying to experience what God promises us in His word.

But we can all testify that our experience of Christ and the church according to the word of God is not something supernatural or too hard to achieve.

Rather, they are normal, yet these normal experiences of Christ and the church are miraculous to the uttermost. God is our Father; we are born of God, and we have the divine life and nature of our Father God within us, for we are children of God (John 1:12-13; 2 Pet. 1:4).

We can partake of the divine life and nature of our Father God, and this is so normal, yet so miraculous.

On one hand, it is so normal for us to live the Christian life by remaining under the divine dispensing so that Christ lives in us.

On the other hand, this is altogether miraculous, for Christ lives in us and we are one with Him.

How we thank and praise the Lord that we can live a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy!

Lord Jesus, we want to live a life of ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy. Thank You for regenerating us with the divine life; we are now children of God who are partaking of the divine life and nature. Thank You, Lord, we can enjoy and experience God in a normal yet miraculous way! Hallelujah, day by day we can fellowship with the Lord and remain under the divine dispensing, living a normal life one with the Lord! Praise the Lord, all the experiences of the Spirit in God’s New Testament economy are not supernatural but normal, yet miraculous! Amen, Lord, keep us contacting You day by day in all the things of our life. Keep us receiving Your divine dispensing. Grow in us unto maturity. May our daily life be of ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

Our Experience of Christ in the Spiritual Life is Normal yet Miraculous: a Miraculous Normality!

To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Col. 1:27Our God is truly amazing, yet He is so normal and real to us. The Creator of the universe wants to have a personal relationship with us, and He wants to be in us and us in Him.

This truly is miraculous, but it is so normal.

If we consider how should we describe our experiences of the divine and spiritual things according to the holy revelation, we have to say that it is a miraculous normality.

On one hand, we are amazed that we can enjoy and experience God, and we can be one with God in the mingled spirit as we live our Christian life and church life.

On the other hand, this is so normal, for nothing extraordinary or supernatural is going on outwardly to make a show of the divine life within us.

We may go to visit someone for the gospel and have home meetings in their home, and we may experience this miraculous normality.

It is not us who convince others to repent and receive the Lord and be baptised but the Lord within us; He does all the work, and we simply cooperate with Him.

Yet this is so normal, though it is so miraculous.

Many unbelievers and even some believers may have a natural imagination that things such as salvation and being filled with the Holy Spirit are extraordinarily miraculous matters, and one day a great thing will happen to us.

But as we contact the Lord day by day, seek to be one with Him in all things, and remain open to the divine dispensing, we realize that not many extraordinary things happen to us.

Rather, most things happening in our Christian life are normal matters, daily experiences.

The more we enjoy and experience the Lord, the more we realize that our experience of Christ in the spiritual life is normal yet miraculous.

We truly live a miraculous normality according to God’s economy.

What we experience of Christ, of God, and of the Spirit is not extraordinary or shocking; rather, it is something quite normal.

In the normal, daily, mundane matters of our Christian life, as we go through the things we need to do, carry out, and speak, we can just experience Christ.

The more normal our experience of Christ is, the better it is, and the more proper and real we become.

I can truly testify from more than sixty-three years' experience that the spiritual life of God within us is a reality. This is not the physical life created by God but God coming into us, born within us, to be our life. Our outward man is the God-created life; our inward man is God being our life. Christianity has nearly discarded the aspect of God becoming our life within. They have also made the matter of the Holy Spirit coming upon men and the Holy Spirit filling men a rare and strange thing. In fact, this spiritual matter of God coming into us to be our life is a very normal matter. To be saved is a very normal matter. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1987, vol. 2, “Words of Training for the New Way," pp. 165-167The Lord may speak to us concerning a certain matter, and we may know that He wants to break through in a particular situation in us.

But we may struggle with Him inwardly, and we may not agree with Him concerning a certain thing.

As we open to the Lord, struggle with Him, and enjoy Him, He has a way to break through; all this is inward, and it is in our normal fellowship with the Lord.

Some of us may think that being filled with the Holy Spirit is a rare and extraordinary matter, for we may expect to be filled with the Spirit as the disciples were in Acts, with the rushing of a wind and flames of fire.

However, as we enjoy the Lord day by day, pray ourselves into the Spirit, and claim the power of the Spirit as we go out to preach the gospel, we discover that the baptism in the Spirit is something normal yet miraculous.

Our Christian life with its ordinary days in the divine dispensing is one of miraculous normality according to God’s economy.

It is a normal matter for us to have God in us and live in us, and it is normal for us to contact the Lord and be filled in spirit with the Holy Spirit.

All these matters are so wonderful yet so normal.

All the spiritual and divine things provided by God for our experience and enjoyment are normal.

Nevertheless, these normal things are so miraculous. What we have therefore is the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

Lord Jesus, we want to experience the divine and spiritual things in the Word of God according to the holy revelation. May our daily life be under the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy. Amen, Lord, what a privilege it is to know God intimately, be filled with God personally and be baptised in the Holy Spirit! Hallelujah, we can experience what God in Christ as the Spirit is and has, and our experience is so normal though it is so miraculous! How normal yet how wonderful it is to have God coming into us as life! How amazing it is that we can experience God as life and we can take Him as our everything! Lord, we love You! We open to You! Fill us with Yourself. Keep us under Your dispensing. Grant us to have ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy!

    – I live; not I; ’tis He alone / By whom the mighty work is done; / Dead to myself, alive to Him, / I count all loss His rest to gain. / Now rest, my heart, the work is done, / I’m saved through the Eternal Son; / Let all my pow’rs my soul employ, / To tell the world my peace and joy. (Hymns #562 stanzas 3-4)
    – Once far from God and dead in sin, / No light my heart could see; / But in God’s Word the light I found, / Now Christ liveth in me. / Christ liveth in me, / Christ liveth in me; / Oh! what a salvation this, / That Christ liveth in me… / With longing all my heart is filled, / That like Him I may be, / As on the wondrous thought I dwell / That Christ liveth in me. (Hymns #507 stanzas 1, chorus, and 4)
    – Christ to me is so subjective, / In my spirit dwelleth He; / Christ to me is all-inclusive, / As the Spirit one with me. / So subjective is my Christ to me! / Real in me, and rich and sweet! / All-inclusive is my Christ to me! / All my needs He fully meets. (Hymns #537 stanza 1 and chorus)

According to my study of the Bible and my Christian experiences, I realized that in my Christian life the things that I experience of Christ, of the Triune God, of the Spirit, and of the divine life with the divine nature are altogether normal to me. They are a normality. At the beginning of my Christian life, I read the writings of some inner-life teachers who taught that all these spiritual and divine things were great miracles that were not easy to attain. They indicated that a number of requirements had to be fulfilled for us to reach a point at which we were qualified to receive these miracles. I tried to experience these things according to the instructions given in their books. Eventually, I found out that the experiences of the Spirit in God’s New Testament economy were not according to what they taught. Actually, all the spiritual and divine things that are provided by God for our enjoyment are altogether normal. They are normalities. But I also found out that these normalities are miraculous to the uttermost. Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1987, vol. 3, “The Scriptural Way to Meet and to Serve for the Building Up of the Body of Christ,” p. 387

All the things we experience of God, of Christ, and of the Spirit are so amazing and miraculous, yet they are so normal. It’s amazing that we can be regenerated with the divine life, yet it is so normal.

We need to have ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to the miraculous normality of the divine economy.

Lord, keep us open to Your divine dispensing today. We just want to enjoy and experience You in a normal way in our daily life.

May we live normal days under the divine dispensing.

We need to appreciate the miraculousness of normality, for all growth is a very normal every day experience.

There were many who witnessed Jesus’ miracles whilst He was on the Earth.

However, it was only the ones who were willing to follow Him and live with Him day in, day out who prevailed.

Growth really is miraculous normality that we should treasure to the uttermost.

We must pursue the experience of miraculous normality. The more normal we are, the more proper, real & rich in Christ we will be.

Thank You Lord for presenting normality as an enticing, delicious dish that we may enjoy daily. Hallelujah for the miracle of normality!

Our experience of spiritual things in God’s economy are normal yet miraculous.

These are not extraordinary but a miraculous normality.

Whereas Christianity has all but discarded the matter of God coming to be in us to be our life, focusing on the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, we live ordinary days in the divine dispensing according to this miraculous normality for the fulfillment of the divine economy.

Hello brother,
I’ve enjoyed your website for years…..very helpful.
On a different topic – 500 Life-Studies (https://www.agodman.com/church-life/developing-habit-reading-life-studies/) — you should make a correction…..the total number of Life-Studies is 1984 – not 1200.
Keep up the good work.

A Miraculous no normality. It’s a miracle yet normal; normal yet miraculous.

To be regenerated is a great miracle yet in our experience it’s very normal.

It’s normal for us to be regenerated.

Calling on the name of the Lord is normal yet it is miraculous because when we call we get the processed and consummated triune God into us.

Praise the Lord!!!!

Christ in you, The Hope of Glory (Colossians 1:27)
