Live a God-man Life by Dying to Live for Christ to Live in us for the Body of Christ

To know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death. Phil. 3:10

We believers in Christ are God-men, the reproduction of Christ as the first God-man, to be those partaking of God’s life and nature and be one with God to express Him; the way we do this is by dying to live, that is, dying to the self so that Christ may live in us and be expressed through us.

Lord Jesus, we want to live one spirit with You today. We open to You. Work Yourself into us. Constitute us with Yourself a little more today. May we be one with You in our daily living. May we live a God-man life today by dying to the self and living to Christ! Amen, Lord, may Christ live in us today! Conform us to Your death by the power of Your resurrection so that we no longer live to ourselves but to the Lord and one with the Lord! Amen!

How we thank and praise the Lord for showing us what the meaning of our human existence is, what the purpose of suffering is, and what our destiny as believers in Christ is.

The meaning of our human existence is for us to express Christ, and for this we are regenerated, we’re being transformed, and we will be glorified so that Christ may be expressed through us. Amen!

The meaning of suffering or the purpose of suffering is that we may gain more of God. God wants us to gain Him and, at the same time, He is discharging our natural element so that only Christ would remain in us to be expressed through us.

And our destiny is to become the same as God in life, nature, expression, and function.

We see this in the New Jerusalem where God and man, man and God, are mingled together, fully in oneness, and God is in man and man is in God, a mutual dwelling place. Hallelujah!

For such a glorious and high destiny, we today as believers in Christ go through many things which may be unfair, full of suffering, and with many tears.

God has a way to use all things to work together for good for us, that is, to work Christ into us so that Christ may be expressed through us.

God wants the expression of Himself in us; however, we still express ourselves, we love ourselves, and we live out ourselves.

Just like Job in the Old Testament, we believers in Christ may build up our own righteousness and uprightness, and we hold it dear and near, not giving it up even when we go through sufferings.

But if we just open to the Lord and allow Him to work Himself into us and operate in our being to remove anything that is natural, He has a way to become our righteousness, and He will be lived out of us as we live our Christian life.

We Believers are Sons of God, the many God-men Partaking of God’s Life and Nature and being One with God

And she will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins. Matt. 1:21

If we read the Bible, we see a wonderful yet mysterious person, Jesus Christ, the God-man. He came as God incarnate to be a man, and He lived a God-man life on earth.

His living was wonderful yet so mysterious, for He continually denied Himself and did not live in and by Himself but rather, He lived by the divine life and expressed God.

In this wonderful person we see the mystery of God becoming man to make man God in life and nature but not in the Godhead. In Christ we see God and man built together and constituted into each other.

It is amazing to see how in Christ God has been constituted into man, man has been constituted into God, and God and man have been mingled together to be one entity, which is called the God-man (Matt. 1:21, 23; Luke 1:35; Titus 2:13; 1 Tim. 2:5).

His life and living changed the course of human history, for here we see not just a man nor just God but a God-man, God mingled with man, man mingled with God, living a God-man life.

The Lord told us in John 12:24 that, unless He as the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, He abides alone, but if He dies, He will bear much fruit.

And this is what He did: He went to the cross and died, and in His death He was alone, but in His resurrection He produced many grains, the many God-men.

As 1 Peter 1:3 tells us, we were regenerated in the resurrection of Christ to be the many God-men, and now we are partakers of God’s life and nature.

God in Christ is constituting Himself into man to make Himself the element of man. We believers in Christ are sons of God, being constituted with a divine element. His divine element is constituted into us, and we are being built into God.

We are the many God-men, the many sons of God; we are the increase, reproduction, duplication, and continuation of Christ as the first God-man (John 12:24; Heb. 2:10; Rom. 8:29).

Even as He was, so are we in this world; He was the first God-man and we are the many God-men partaking of God’s life and nature and being fully one with God.

What is a God-man? It is not merely a spiritual man or a perfect man; this is not what God is after.

God wants to gain a God-man, a regenerated person who partakes of God’s life and nature to be one with God in His life and nature and thereby express Him (John 3:15; 2 Pet. 1:4; 1 Cor. 6:17).

We believers in Christ are one spirit with the Lord, and day by day we partake of God’s life and nature as we exercise our spirit to contact the Lord, call on His name, and pray-read His word.

As we partake of Christ daily, we become one with Him and He has a way to live in us to be expressed through us. A God-man has been born of God to be a child of God, having the life and nature of God (John 1:12-13; 3:6).

Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless the grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. John 12:24 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and through whom are all things, in leading many sons into glory, to make the Author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb. 2:10All genuine believers in Christ are God-men, for they have been born of God in their spirit and they have God’s life and nature.

We believers in Christ are God-men: we have two lives – the human life and the divine life – and we have two natures – humanity and divinity. We are now learning to live by the divine life to live the life of a God-man in our daily living.

A God-man is a life-man, for we have God’s life and we live by His life to express His life, be freed from Satan and his influence, and be filled with His life in our spirit, soul and body (1 John 5:11-13; Rom. 8:2, 6, 10-11).

We are becoming men of life, life-men, to be filled by God’s life and live out God’s life! Amen!

We believers in Christ are gold-men (Exo. 25:11; 1 Pet. 1:7; Rev. 3:18; 21:18b) for His divine nature is of gold, and He is working Himself into us to make us the same as He is.

A God-man is constituted with God, having God as his life, life supply, and everything; thus, a God-man is man yet God and God yet man (Eph. 3:16-17a). Amen!

A God-man is a new creation and the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17, 21). Hallelujah!

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming as the first God-man to bring God into man so that man may be brought into God! Hallelujah, in Christ God became man so that man may become God in life and nature but not in the Godhead! Praise the Lord, we believers in Christ are God-men, for we were born of God to be children of God having the life and nature of God! Amen, Lord, we want to partake of Your life and nature to be one with You in Your life and nature and thereby express You! We don’t want to live in ourselves or by ourselves to express ourselves; we want to live by Your life and nature to express You! Praise the Lord, we have the divine life and nature in us in addition to our human life and nature! Amen, Lord, make us life-men, those who are filled with God as life and who live by the divine life to express God! Constitute us with Yourself today. We take You as our life, our life supply, and our everything. Make us the same as You are. Live in us today. Be expressed through us today! Amen!

Live a God-man Life by Dying to Live for Christ to Live in us for the Body of Christ

Then Jesus said to His disciples, If anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. Matt. 16:24

When we see the high peak of the divine revelation and realise that in Christ God became man so that man may become God in life and nature, we will be amazed, but we may also wonder how this can happen.

If it is God’s desire and intention to become man so that man may become God, how can we practically live this out? How can we believers in Christ live the life of a God-man?

What does it mean to live a God-man life, and how can we do this today? We need to look at the Lord Jesus and His God-man living to learn from Him.

Christ is the first God-man, and God made this One a prototype for the mass reproduction of many brothers (Rom. 8:29).

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered on your behalf, leaving you a model so that you may follow in His steps. 1 Pet. 2:21 And He died for all that those who live may no longer live to themselves but to Him who died for them and has been raised. 2 Cor. 5:15We as the many sons of God are the many brothers of Christ to be conformed to the image of Christ. Even as He lived on this earth, so we live today.

How did Christ live on earth? Do we just need to imitate His living, doing our best to do what He did and speak what He spoke?

Living a God-man life is not a matter of outwardly imitating Christ; rather, it is a matter of coming after the Lord by denying the self and taking up our cross to follow Him (Matt. 16:24).

The Lord Jesus lived by denying Himself and living for the Father, even living one with the Father for the Father to be glorified.

We need to live a life of bearing the cross in the steps of Christ; we trace His living and copy it in spirit by dying to live for Christ to live in us (1 Pet. 2:21).

We believers in Christ can and should live a God-man life by dying to ourselves and living to God (2 Cor. 5:15; Gal. 2:19).

Thank the Lord that we have been crucified with Christ so that He may live in us. We live a God-man life by dying to live so that Christ may live in us the life of a God-man for the building up of the Body of Christ.

If we believers in Christ still live according to the flesh, we must die; but if by the Spirit we put to death the practices of the body, we will live (Rom. 8:13).

This doesn’t mean that we should strive and try harder to deny the self and be like the ascetics, denying our body its needs or its pleasures.

Rather, we need to exercise our spirit and be one with the Lord to put to death by the Spirit in His resurrection whatever our body does.

We need to learn to exercise our spirit in all things so that we may be conformed to the death of Christ by the power of His resurrection (Phil. 3:10).

Day by day we need to live in such a way that we are dying to live so that Christ may live in us.

The high peak of the divine revelation can be accomplished only when we die to live so that Christ may live in us.

There is no way for Christ to be expressed through us if we, like Job in the Old Testament, still hold on to our integrity and build up our own perfection and uprightness. But when we die to the self, when we die to live Christ, He has a way to live in us.

Our Christian life is not a matter of trying our best to love others, be kind to them, or be meek and patient in our human ethics.

The Christian life is a life of living Christ by dying to live so that Christ may live in us. When we go to university, we need to die to our classmates so that Christ may live in us.

As we live at home with our spouse and in our family life, we need to die to live so that Christ may be expressed through us.

For if you live according to the flesh, you must die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live. Rom. 8:13 I protest by the boasting in you, brothers, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 1 Cor. 15:31In all things, in all situations, and in all circumstances, we need to die to live so that the many God-men may become the building material for the building up of the Body of Christ.

This is to live an overcoming life as the many God-men who no longer live by their human life but by the divine life so that Christ may live in them.

This is the real meaning of being a Christian: it is a life of dying to live every day.

Not all Christians live in this way, however, but we can exercise our spirit and live one spirit with the Lord daily.

Thank the Lord that He has opened up the highest peak of His divine revelation in the Bible. And thank Him that He is also arranging a certain environment for us to die to live (Phil. 3:10).

May we allow the Lord to conform us to His death by the power of His resurrection so that we may die to live today for Christ to live in us.

May we open to the Lord about it and have many conversations with Him, especially as we fail and it is still us who live.

May we not only pray-read God’s word and call on His name but even more, die to live today so that Christ may live in us and be expressed through us!

Lord Jesus, we take You as our pattern in our Christian life. We want to live even as You lived. We want to live a God-man life in our daily life. Amen, Lord, we come after You by denying the self and taking up our cross to follow You. We love You, Lord, and we follow You to die to live. Show us what this means in our Christian life and church life. May we learn to die to live one day at a time. Grant us the experiences we need for us to be conformed to the death of Christ by the power of His resurrection so that Christ may live in us. Amen, Lord, make us Your reproduction and continuation today, those who are dying to themselves to live to God! May we know the power of Your resurrection and the fellowship of Your sufferings so that we may be conformed to Your death. Save us from merely doing things outwardly to be better people or kinder to others; may we die to live in our Christian life so that Christ may live in us! Amen, Lord, make us Your overcomers today, those who live a God-man life for the building up of the Body of Christ!

    – I am crucified with Christ, / And the cross hath set me free; / I have ris’n again with Christ, / And He lives and reigns in me. / Oh! it is so sweet to die with Christ, / To the world, and self, and sin; / Oh! it is so sweet to live with Christ, / As He lives and reigns within. (Hymns #482 stanza 1 and chorus)
    – My old person has been nullified; / With my Lord upon the cross he died; / Now in nothing shall he be applied; / He’s dead to me. / My new Person in my spirit dwells; / Springing in me as a bubbling well; / Flowing out until each part He fills / With abundant life. / Christ, my Person, in my spirit lives; / And my heart to Him I’d daily give; / That my inner man could have a home / And a place to settle down, yes, / A place to call His own, and— / There be my complete reality, / There expressing all He is to me, / Living in my heart abundantly / As my Person real. (Hymns #1180 stanza 1)
    – Live Thyself, Lord Jesus, through me, / For my very life art Thou; / Thee I take to all my problems / As the full solution now. / Live Thyself, Lord Jesus, through me, / In all things Thy will be done; / I but a transparent vessel / To make visible the Son. (Hymns #403 stanza 1)
