If we read Genesis, we see that God created all things – He didn’t need anyone to help Him do this. He simply spoke things into being. But when it comes to the New Testament, in the Gospels, we see that God Himself became a man and did everything in man and through man!
God’s incarnation set up the principle in God’s New Testament economy – which is that God needs man to match Him, be one with Him, and He will do everything in and through man! It is like God would give Himself to be bound and limited by man – if man moves, God moves; if man tarries, God is delayed in His move(God can do many things, but He waits for man’s cooperation).
God must have man to match Him, to be one with Him, to coordinate with Him!
The way we cooperate with God is by us first receiving His divine life, and then enjoying Him until He is simply expressed through us! Acts 1:8 says
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
To be Christ’s witnesses is actually to be His testimony, to express Him – just like a portrait expresses a person. We’re actually Christ’s portrait, His testimony. Wherever we are, whatever we do, wherever we go, we bring Christ to people and others see Him in us.
This is the real gospel preaching – expressing Christ as a portrait of Christ. This also means that if we are fast, God will move in us and with us in a fast way; and if we delay enjoying Christ and thus we don’t express Him, then we delay His move.
It is really crucial to see that Christ – the embodiment of God for His expansion and expression – moves through us, those who love Him and enjoy Him. May we not be “a prison” to the Lord, limiting Him in our being and through our expression, but those who work together with God to express Him!
It is a privilege and a joy to be part of God’s expression. His divine life in us can do this, and God just waits for our cooperation. As soon as we turn our heart to Him and enjoy Him, He lives in us and is expressed in us.
Lord, keep us enjoying You and giving You our cooperation to express You and further Your move!
