It is Jehovah’s lovingkindness that we as His people are not consumed, for His compassions do not fail; rather, they are new every morning, and His faithfulness is great (Lam. 3:22-23). Praise the Lord for His lovingkindness, His compassions, and His faithfulness!
We need to know Jehovah, the eternal God, in His lovingkindness, in His compassions, and in His faithfulness. First we need to know Jehovah – the One who is the I AM – the eternal God.
We need to seek God, search for Him, and desire to know Him as He is revealed in His word and in Christ as the living word of God; we need to know Him in the way of light shining on the Word of God, and then we touch reality and life. Hallelujah!
Our God is Jehovah of hosts – a particular title used many times in the book of Jeremiah, referring to God as the mighty One, the Commander in chief of all the heavenly armies, the One who is in control and who does all things according to what He desires. Hallelujah!
This One is the victorious and coming Christ; at His second coming, Christ will come as the victorious One, the One who returns in victory and glory together with His overcoming saints to defeat the Antichrist and all of God’s enemies.
May we turn our heart to the Lord so that the veil may be taken away, and may we open our being so that His light may shine on us!
Our God is the eternal One, and His throne is from generation to generation.
Though we may experience sorrow, grief, pain, and trials and tribulations, and though we may weep and mourn concerning our situation and the situation of God’s people, when we are lifted up out of our emotions we will touch the eternal God.
No matter what happens down here with us, God is eternal, His being is eternal, and His government is unchanging.
When we look around us we see the degradation of the church and the desolation of the house of God, but when we lift up our eyes to Him we see that He abides forever and there’s no change in Him.
When the Lord shepherds us out of our feelings and emotions, and we touch God’s economy, we will see there’s a throne set in heaven, and on the throne there’s One ruling and reigning, no matter what happens here with us. Hallelujah!
We as believers in Christ have received an unshakable kingdom, we are on an unshakable foundation, and our God is on the throne. Praise the Lord!
It is God’s Lovingkindness that we are not Consumed – we Enjoy His Lovingkindness in the Church Life today!
As Jeremiah was lamenting over the situation of God’s people, their desolation, their rebellion, and the devastation of the city of God and the house of God, he touched God’s lovingkindness.
In Lam. 3:22-23 he exclaimed, It is Jehovah’s lovingkindness that we are not consumed, / For His compassions do not fail; / They are new every morning; / Great is Your faithfulness.
This word, lovingkindness, in Hebrew is so rich in meaning; the basic meaning is tender affection, including God’s mercy, His love, His care, and His kindness.
As Paul said in Romans that the kindness of God leads us to repentance – this is lovingkindness.
Many times we thought we deserve a severe dealing from the Lord for what we have done or said, but what comes to us is kindness, and this melts our heart.
Jehovah appeared to Jeremiah and told him, I have drawn you with lovingkindness (Jer. 31:3). Again and again in the Old and the New Testament we see God’s lovingkindness.
David said, I will sing of lovingkindness and justice; to You, O Jehovah, I will sing psalms (Psa. 101:1). Lovingkindness and justice will be the base of the reign and judgement of Christ; Christ will reign over the earth with lovingkindness and justice and deal with all the wicked.
Amen, give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good, and His lovingkindness endures forever; let all those who are in God’s people say, His lovingkindness is forever (see Psa. 118:1-4).
He has displayed His lovingkindness in a wondrous way, and He saves us by His right hand, for we take refuge in Him (Psa. 17:7).
Praise the Lord, God’s lovingkindness is in the heavens, and His faithfulness reaches unto the skies (Psa. 36:5). Oh, how precious is His lovingkindness, and how we as the son of men love to take refuge in the shadow of His wings (v. 7).
His lovingkindness is as great as the heavens, and His faithfulness reaches unto the skies (Psa. 57:10).
Give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good, and His lovingkindness endures forever (Psa. 107:1).
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow us all the day of our life and we will dwell in the house of Jehovah for the length of our days (Psa. 23:6).
Even in the coming kingdom, there will be a throne established in lovingkindness, and upon it Christ will sit in truth in the tent of David; He will judge and pursue justice and hasten righteousness (Isa. 16:5). Amen!
Today we need to know that, even though the mountains may depart and the hills may shake, but His lovingkindness will not depart from us and His covenant of peace will not shake, says Jehovah who has compassion on us (Isa. 54:10).
As we enjoy God’s lovingkindness in all these verses and many others, as we pray-read these verses, we can approach the throne of grace through the blood of Jesus, and there we will meet lovingkindness; we can’t live without it.
Jehovah’s lovingkindness is precious, everlasting, and higher than the heavens; His lovingkindness leads to Christ as the cornerstone for God’s building (see Psa. 36:7, 9-10; 108:4; 118:1-4, 22-29; 136:1, 26).
In Psa. 103, for example, we see God’s history in His lovingkindness and compassions in His forgiving of our sins, healing us, redeeming us, and caring for us as His people. Hallelujah!
In the abundance of God’s lovingkindness we can come into His house (Psa. 5:7).
For us to enter into the temple of God itself is an enjoyment of the abundance of God’s lovingkindness. In the church life we touch His lovingkindness, we consider it, and we enjoy it. Thank You Lord!
If we are in any other place except the proper church life on the genuine ground of oneness, we don’t have a rich experience and touch of God’s lovingkindness, but once we come into the church life, we enjoy it, we touch it, and we are touched by God’s lovingkindness.
Thank You Lord for Your lovingkindness toward us! You drew us with lovingkindness and You loved us with an eternal love. Oh Lord, though the mountains may depart and the hills may shake, we believe that Your lovingkindness will not depart from us! Amen! Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow us all the days of our life, and we enjoy Your precious, everlasting, and sweet lovingkindness in the church life all the days of our life! Oh Lord Jesus, Thank You for Your lovingkindness and compassions in forgiving our sins, healing us, redeeming us, and caring for us. It is Your lovingkindness that we are not consumed, for Your compassions do not fail – they are new every morning!
God’s Compassions are New Every Morning: Praise God for His Merciful Compassions!
In Lam. 3:22-23 we see that, even though the people of Israel have failed, yet God’s compassions preserved the remnant of Israel for the carrying out of God’s economy!
Hallelujah for God’s compassions which are new every morning!
Compassion is deeper, finer, and richer than mercy; God shows compassion to whomever He shows compassion (Rom. 9:15), and He has mercy on whomever He wills to have mercy.
Mercy refers to the action or manifestation in response to wretchedness; the Greek word for mercy, eleos, refers to the kind of response that is motivated by the wretched condition of someone poor.
But compassions – as in Rom. 9:15 and 2 Cor. 1:3, is oiktirmos, and the basic root of this word refers to the inward organs of man, which were believed to be the center of tender affections in man.
So compassions refer to the inward feeling that originates in the heart of God; this is not a mild feeling but deeply affectionate. Compassion is the deepest of words showing the inward affection of God for man in his pitiful condition.
Mercy is precious; we can’t live without God’s mercy, and even in our wretched condition, His mercy reaches us. Compassion issues from the depths of God’s being.
In Matthew we are told that, when the Lord looked upon the multitude, He saw that they were like sheep without a Shepherd, and He was moved with compassion.
In Luke 1:78 we are told that because of the merciful compassions of our God, the rising sun – Christ – visits us from on high to shine upon those sitting in darkness.
Our God is full of compassion, so we also need to be full of compassion as sons of our heavenly Father (Luke 6:36).
God Himself became man in life and nature so that we men may be made God in life and nature but not in the Godhead.
All the attributes of God that can be imparted into us will become part of our being; however, we will never be omniscient or omnipotent or omnipresent, yet we will be full of love, peace, grace, kindness, compassion, even filled with compassion!
When we reach out to others, we need to be full of compassion; we can’t “put on the mask of compassion” but rather, as the Father grieves for them, so we do, for we are filled with compassion!
Compassion refers to God’s inward affection which originates in His loving essence; our Father God is full of compassions, and He is the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3).
How we thank the Lord that He is very tenderhearted and compassionate (James 5:11); so we should be full of compassion, even as our Father also is full of compassion (Luke 6:36).
Because of God’s merciful compassions, He came to the earth; we experience His compassions not only when we are initially saved, but again and again as we come to Him, we enjoy His compassions and His lovingkindness!
Hallelujah, God’s compassions are new every morning! Every morning we need to start the day with new compassions; we need to enjoy His compassions and feed on His faithfulness, enjoy God’s lovingkindness and appreciate His fresh, new compassions!
Our days are much better when we open to receive His compassions and enjoy God’s lovingkindness.
May we be those who contact the Lord as the compassionate One every morning, knowing Him intimately as the God of compassions. Through our contact with the Lord we receive the word regarding God’s lovingkindness, compassions, and faithfulness. Thank You Lord!
Thank You Lord for reaching us in Your compassion; it is because of the merciful compassions of our God that we all who were in darkness saw the rising Sun of righteousness, Christ Himself! Thank You for Your inward affection toward us issuing from Your loving presence. Thank You for being filled with compassion toward us. Oh Lord, Your compassions are new every morning. We open to receive and enjoy Your compassions; we open to contact You and enjoy You, receiving fresh compassions, fresh mercies, and fresh lovingkindness.
