Having God Wrought into us for the Church and Hastening the Coming Kingdom of Christ

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Rom. 14:17

The kingdom of David typifies the coming kingdom of Christ; today we have the privilege to have God wrought into our being to make us His kingdom, His people, His habitation. Hallelujah!

If we look around us today we see so much violence and corruption, and there seems to be no righteousness on earth today.

But the day is coming when Christ will return with His kingdom, and God’s authority and glory will be fully manifested.

When Christ returns, the whole earth with its peoples will be brought into righteousness, peace, joy, and the full blessing of God’s creation, for the kingdom of the world will become the kingdom of Christ. Hallelujah!

Though today we are in the darkest of days, in a terrible age, even at the end of this age, our hope is in the Lord’s return.

We are not hoping in changing the situation today, nor are we struggling to improve society; rather, we are hoping in the Lord’s return with the coming kingdom of Christ, for only His return will bring in real peace, joy, righteousness, and full blessing!

The Lord’s second coming will be to rule and reign with God’s authority and glory; at that time and only at that time will the peoples of the earth be brought into the real righteousness, peace, and joy, and there will be the full blessing of God’s creation.

We are looking forward to that day, and we want to cooperate with the Lord to hasten His return.

And today in the church life we can have a foretaste of the coming kingdom of Christ; in the genuine church life, we have the kingdom of God.

Rom. 14:17 says that the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Today we have a foretaste of the coming kingdom of God by being in the proper, genuine, true church life.

In the church life, we can experience Christ as our Good Shepherd; He shepherds us all the days of our life into the full enjoyment of Himself, and as we enjoy His shepherding, we spontaneously submit to His throne.

As we enjoy the Lord’s wonderful shepherding both in a personal way and through the saints in the Body, we are being headed up in Christ, and we submit to His throne, taking Him as our King and Lord.

In the genuine church life today we live in the kingdom of God as a foretaste of the coming kingdom of Christ, and we enjoy Christ as our Shepherd-King, the One who shepherds us by ruling over us and rules in us to shepherd us.

Having God Wrought into us to be the Church as His Kingdom and His Building with Christ as our All in All

When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your seed after you, which will come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. It is he who will build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 2 Sam. 7:12-13David is a type of Christ; Christ is the real David, and Christ is even the greater David, the One who is greater than David.

When David wanted to build God a house, that is the desire of Christ’s heart; His desire is related to the house of God, the church as the Body of Christ.

David, however, was stopped by God from building a house for Him, and God promised that He will raise up his seed after him, which will come forth from his body, and He will establish his kingdom.

It is he, the seed of David, who will build a house for God’s name, and God will establish the throne of his kingdom forever (2 Sam. 7:12-13).

David’s house here refers to Christ as the house of God, the temple of God. David’s kingdom refers to Christ’s kingdom, and David’s throne refers to Christ’s throne.

If we carefully read the prophets and what they spoke concerning David, we will realize that Christ is the real David, and when the prophets spoke about David, they actually prophesied concerning Christ.

The prophets spoke of David and Christ as one (Jer. 30:9; Ezek. 34:23-24; 37:24-25; Hosea 3:5; Amos 9:11), for Christ is the real David (Matt. 12:3-4).

God’s response in 2 Sam. 7:12-13 to David’s prayer concerning building a house for God was very mysterious yet wonderful, for in it we see that the seed of David – referring to Christ – will build His house, His temple, and God will establish His kingdom.

This shows the eternal economy of God with His intention, which is to build Himself in Christ into His chosen people, making Him and His people one.

God doesn’t want His people to “build His house” or do things for Him; He wants to work Himself into them, build Himself into them, and have God wrought into them so that they become an intrinsic part of His building and kingdom.

From eternity to eternity God’s intention is to make Himself us so that we may become Him in life, in nature, in constitution, and in expression, but not in the Godhead.

God’s incarnation was not a remedial work that He had to do to somehow fix man’s problems; rather, God’s becoming man was part of the fulfillment of His heart’s desire.

For even as the body is one and has many members, yet all the members of the body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ. 1 Cor. 12:12 And have put on the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, Where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all. Col. 3:10-11God wants to become man so that man would become God in life and nature but not in the Godhead for the producing and building up of the church as the house of God and the kingdom of God.

Therefore, the second of the Godhead, the all-inclusive and all-extensive Christ became a man, went through human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to become a life-giving Spirit, and now He comes into us, His chosen people, to make us fully one with Him and Him one with us for the church as the house of God and the kingdom of God.

All believers in Christ are in the process of having God wrought into them little by little, day by day until Christ becomes our all in all (Col. 3:10-11) for the one new man.

Through God’s building work in me and you as the members of the Body of Christ, the all-inclusive and all-extensive Christ becomes us – He becomes every member of the Body of Christ and every person in the new man (1 Cor. 12:12). Wow!

We not only enjoy something of Christ, experience something of what He is, and are transformed a little here and there; we have God wrought into us so that Christ becomes our all in all for the church as the house of God and the kingdom of God! Hallelujah!

This is implied and typified by God’s answer to David’s prayer in 2 Sam. 7, and it is seen in the New Testament in the Gospels and the Epistles.

What a privilege we have, as the spiritual people of God, to be part of the fulfillment of God’s purpose, His heart’s desire, to be both His house (His temple) and His kingdom (His city) to express and represent Him!

Lord Jesus, praise You for being incarnated, crucified, and resurrected so that we, human beings, may be regenerated, transformed, and glorified to be part of Your dwelling place and kingdom! Hallelujah, God’s intention in His economy is to build Himself in Christ into His chosen people to make them and Him ONE! Praise the Lord, we believers in Christ are one spirit with the Lord, and we have God wrought into us daily to be reconstituted with Christ and rebuilt with the Triune God for His house and kingdom! Amen, Lord Jesus, work Yourself into us and build us into You day by day, little by little, until we and You become fully one! May Christ become our all in all for the church, the Body of Christ, the one new man!

The Kingdom of David Typifies the Coming Kingdom of Christ – Christ’s Throne is Established Forever!

And your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you; your throne will be established forever. 2 Sam. 7:16

It is amazing to realize how much David loved God and was a man according to God’s heart, to such an extent that God promises him that his house and kingdom will be made sure forever for him, and his throne will be established forever (2 Sam. 7:16). Wow!

How can God promise such a thing to a man, and how can a man have his kingdom established forever? Surely God was not talking about David the man here, but about Christ, who is the real David.

The kingdom of David typifies the coming kingdom of Christ (2 Sam. 7:12, 16; Mark 11:10; Rev. 11:15).

David’s kingdom is Christ’s kingdom, and David’s throne is God’s throne; Christ’s kingdom and throne will be established forever and will be forever!

David’s house refers to Christ, David’s kingdom refers to Christ’s kingdom, and David’s throne refers to Christ’s throne.

The kingdom of David is Christ’s kingdom, and David and Christ have one throne; there are no two thrones in this universe but one, and David is a type of Christ as the real David (Isa. 9:7; 16:5; Luke 1:32; Acts 2:29-31).

We see this confirmed in Luke 1:32-33 by the word of God conveyed by the archangel Gabriel; he said that the covenant of David will be fulfilled in Christ.

When Christ was born, the angel said that Mary will bear a son, and his name will be called Jesus; He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of David His father. Wow!

So Christ was born as the descendent of David, the seed of David, to inherit the throne of David and rule on the throne of David; He is the real David, the greater David, and He rules forever and ever.

He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of David His father, And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. Luke 1:32-33God’s promise to David that his house and kingdom would be made sure and that his throne would be established forever was fulfilled in Christ, for Christ will inherit the throne of David according to God’s promise to David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and to His kingdom, there will be no end! Hallelujah!

In particular, the earthly part of the millennial kingdom in the coming age will be the Messianic kingdom, which is called the kingdom of the Son of Man in Matt. 13:42 (see Rev. 11:15).

The coming millennial kingdom has two parts – the earthly part, the Messianic kingdom, and the heavenly part, where the overcomers will rule and reign with Christ.

The earthly part of the millennial kingdom will be the restored kingdom of Israel (Acts 1:6), the tabernacle of David – the kingdom of David – which the Lord will rebuild (15:16; Mark 11:10).

Of course, the coming kingdom of Christ will have a heavenly part, called the kingdom of the Father, where Christ will be reigning with the overcomers as the co-ings with Him.

But there is also the aspect of the earthly kingdom, the restoration of the kingdom of Israel, the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David, and the kingdom of David.

The Lord Himself will bring in this restoration – He will rebuild this kingdom as the coming kingdom of Christ. Hallelujah!

It is truly amazing to see that David typifies Christ and the kingdom of David typifies the coming kingdom of Christ, for Christ as the real and greater David will rule forever and ever!

Hallelujah for Christ as the real David! Praise the Lord, Jesus will return with His kingdom, and the coming kingdom of Christ in the millennium will come soon! We enthrone You in our being, dear Lord Jesus. You are our Savior, our Head, our Lord, and our King. We submit under Your authority and we enthrone You in all the things of our daily life. Make us Your overcomers today; make us those who are qualified to rule and reign with You in the coming kingdom. We praise You, Lord Jesus, the real David! May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. Bring in Your kingdom in our being, our church life, our family life, and in everything related to us. Rule and reign in us and make us those who rule and reign with You!
