God qualified us for a share of Christ, the allotted portion of the saints in the light

It is so good to be reminded day by day that all that God desires is Christ, and this One to be enjoyed by us and expressed through us in a corporate way. The Bible is full of God’s intention of giving us Christ(which is the embodiment of all that God is) to be our enjoyment, our satisfaction, our everything!

As we have seen yesterday, Christ is the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, and the Alpha and the Omega. He’s the beginning of God’s operation, He is the continuation and the content of His economy, and He is the end of everything. He’s the first and the last letter of the alphabet, and He is every letter in between!

In God’s economy Christ is every letter for the composing of words, sentences, paragraphs, chapters, and books – Christ is the element for composing the story of our life! What a Christ! This One is the portion allotted by God to the saints – Col. 1:12 says,

Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light.

We, the believers in Christ, those who believed into Him and have His divine life, have been qualified by God to have a share in Christ, to enjoy Christ as our allotted portion! The portion of the saints in this verse is the all-inclusive Christ allotted to us by God for our enjoyment.

God doesn’t want to give us physical things, prosperity, outward things, or even just love, peace, joy, etc – God doesn’t give us anything apart from Christ! Christ is our all-inclusive portion! In the Old Testament the people of Israel, upon entering the good land of Canaan, were allotted a portion of the land for each family / person.

This portion of the land was all-inclusive – it had everything that the people needed! It is the same today to us the believers – Christ is the good land flowing with milk and honey, so rich and all-inclusive, having everything that we need! All we have to do now is enjoy this Christ every day, apply Him to our situation, and experience Him as this rich One!

As our allotted portion of the saints in the light, Christ is the all-inclusive One! He is all that we need. All we need, Christ is!

Christ is our peace, Christ is our joy, Christ is our comfort, Christ is our rest, Christ is our righteousness, Christ is our drink, Christ is our food, Christ is the air that we breathe, Christ is the rich honey and butter, Christ is the lamb of God, Christ is the little dove, Christ is the meat, Christ is the bread of life, Christ is the processed food we eat, Christ is the river, Christ is the living tree, Christ is the gold and all the precious materials, Christ is the reality of any beverage we drink, Christ is the earth – Christ is everything! He is so much!

Christ is God’s anointed, Christ is the One having the preeminence in all things, Christ is the Head over all things, Christ is the center of all things, Christ is the One who fills all and in all, Christ is the First and the Last, Christ is the Beginning and the End, Christ is the reality of time and space, Christ is the Alpha and the Omega – and our Christ is so much more!

This all-inclusive Christ has been allotted to us as our portion for our enjoyment!

Such a Christ is our portion – and we are daily laboring on this good land to possess it, enjoy it, and partake of it! All the aspects of Christ in the divine economy are so meaningful, so applicable, and so enjoyable! We need to take Christ in and make all His aspects, all His riches, our subjective experience and enjoyment!

Christ IS everything to us, but He needs to become everything to us in a subjective personal way, and also in a collective / corporate way with all the saints! Don’t focus too much on work – focus on enjoying Christ as the portion allotted to you by God! With all the saints in the light, we daily enjoy Christ!

When we meet, we don’t just chat, talk, or coordinate – we enjoy Christ! Christ our portion is the One who satisfies all our needs, and He is the One we enjoy, we minister, and we dispense into one another!

[enjoyment from, The Conclusion of the New Testament, msgs. 352-358, by brother W. Lee] [Read this portion also in Spanish / Puede leer esta porción también en español, Dios nos hizo aptos para participar de Cristo, la porción asignada a los santos en la luz]

Lord, keep us enjoying You as our portion! Thank You Father for qualifying us to enjoy Christ! Thank You Father for this portion of the saints in the light! Make this Christ so subjective and applicable to us, Lord! We want to see and enjoy Your availability! You meet our every need! Lord, be our experience and enjoyment today!
