God is our Inheritance and Possession, and He is our real Dwelling Place and Home

Rom. 9:23 In order that He might make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He had before prepared unto glory.

God is man’s real possession, inheritance, cup, and dwelling place, but through the fall man lost God; therefore, there’s the need of the sounding of jubilee for man to return to God as his possession.

Christ is our jubilee, and when we have Him, we have real peace, joy, and freedom. But if we don’t have Christ, we are sold under sin, slaves to Satan to do his evil schemes, and we have no real enjoyment, for we have lost God as our possession and inheritance.

How we need to hear the jubilee again and again so that we may receive the Lord and live by Him, allowing Him to live in us, and thus live practically in the jubilee! Amen!

Jubilee means having no worry or anxiety, no concern or care, no lack or shortage, no sickness or calamity, and no problems whatsoever but rather, having all benefits. This is the kind of life that the Lord wants us to live.

He came as jubilee Jesus, He preached the gospel so that we may enter into the jubilee, and He Himself is our jubilee. The Lord came so that all those who are bound and toiling would come to Him and receive rest, enjoyment, and satisfaction from Him, for He Himself is our possession.

All men need to hear the jubilee, and we all must receive the Lord Jesus as the real jubilee in us. If we have Christ as the jubilee and if we allow Him to live in us and we live by Him, then we can enjoy God as our possession and we can be delivered from the bondage of Satan and sin to have real freedom and rest. Amen!

Yes, Lord, we want real freedom and rest!

We need to have our heart set on the Lord and refuse to have any idol, that is, refusing to allow any person, matter, or thing to become a replacement for Christ in us.

Whenever our heart is set on a person, a thing, or a matter other than the Lord, this is idolatry, and the end is wretchedness. But if we set our heart on the Lord and allow Christ to live in us and we live by Him, then everything is to our satisfaction.

Christ is the secret for our satisfaction and rest. Only He gives us rest, satisfaction, and enjoyment. When we do not enjoy Christ and we don’t let Him live in us, everything is a problem, and nothing is a jubilee.

Everything can be satisfying to us only after we have gained the all-inclusive Christ as our enjoyment. Only the all-inclusive Christ as our enjoyment can fill us and cause us to be satisfied, no matter the situation and circumstances.

Only Christ as our real jubilee can enable us to be calm and free of worries as we face all kinds of situations.

Man is a Vessel to Contain God, and God is our Inheritance and Cup of Enjoyment

Psa. 16:5 Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; You maintain my lot.As those living in the New Testament age, we need to realize that when it comes to the jubilee, our real possession is not a physical portion of the good land but God Himself. God is our possession, our inheritance, and our portion.

The land is just a type, a symbol, a figure, showing us that God Himself in Christ is our all-inclusive supply for our portion.

Man was created by God to be a vessel to contain God; he was created in God’s image and likeness, and God presented Himself to man to be man’s possession, content, and inheritance (see Gen. 1:26).

A vessel by itself is a container, and the value of a vessel is what he contains. Without containing God as our portion and inheritance, we are empty vessels.

Man is a vessel of God to contain God and be filled with God. Without containing God we are empty and meaningless.

The content of a vessel is its possession, and man is a vessel of God; hence if man doesn’t have God as his possession and enjoyment, he is empty and poor.

We can be filled with all kind of things that this world has to offer, and we may be very rich, having millions of dollars in our bank account, but if we don’t have Christ, we are poor and empty.

God is our everlasting portion – He is our inheritance, portion, and our cup. He maintains our lot. Anyone in this world who is apart from Christ has no share in God’s riches, and he is hopeless, without God in the world.

Adam lost his portion of the enjoyment of God when he didn’t partake of the tree of life. All the unbelieving people in the world have lost God as their possession and enjoyment, and they have even sold themselves and their members to sin in order to become slaves of sin (see Eph. 2:12; Rom. 7:14; 6:19).

When Christ came, He said, I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall by no means hunger, and he who believes into Me shall by no means ever thirst (see John 6:35). With Him is the fountain of life, and in His light we see light (Psa. 36:9).

The Lord is the tree of life and the river of life; he who believes into Him eats and drinks Him and is satisfied. To be sure, God is our possession. Furthermore, according to Psalm 16:5, God is not only our inheritance but also the portion of our cup. In this verse, inheritance is a general expression, whereas cup is a more personal expression. God is not only our inheritance but also the portion of our cup for our enjoyment. God is not only our possession but also our real enjoyment. Moreover, God maintains our allotted portion. Witness Lee, The Jubilee, ch. 2

Christ came to be the reality of the tree of life and of the living water, and He wants man to eat and drink of Him so that God would be man’s possession and inheritance for His enjoyment.

God is our possession, and even more, He is the portion of our cup. God is our portion for our enjoyment, He is our real enjoyment.

But because Adam didn’t partake of the tree of life, he lost God as his possession. Because man today doesn’t partake of Christ as the tree of life and the water of life, man has lost God and is without hope in the world.

From kings and presidents to street sweepers and beggars, whether rich or poor, whether educated or not, everyone is a prodigal son who squandered all his possessions and now has sold himself under sin, being penniless and without any enjoyment.

Man not only lost God as his inheritance, but he also sold himself to be a slave under sin. As we see in Rom. 7:14 and 6:19, sin dwells in our members, and by birth we are enslaved to sin.

Some people may be smarter and more educated, so they are controlled and governed by reason and morality, but in their mind, in themselves, they are enslaved to sin.

This is why we all need the proclamation of the jubilee, so that we would return to God as our possession, our inheritance, and our portion, and so that we may be delivered from the slavery of sin and of Satan.

Lord Jesus, we return to You to enjoy You as our divine inheritance. Thank You for creating us as vessel to contain You. Lord, You are our portion, our possession, and our cup of enjoyment. Without You we have no real enjoyment and satisfaction. Amen, Lord, we return to You again and again to enjoy You. You are the bread of life and the living water, and with You is the fountain of life. Save us from living a meaningless, empty, and poor life without enjoying You. Lord, only You satisfy us and only You are our real enjoyment and possession!

God is Man’s Dwelling Place and Home, and without God Human Life is Vanity of Vanities

Human life is nothing but labor and sorrow and will soon be gone; the true condition of human life is vanity of vanities, emptiness of emptinesses-a chasing after wind - Psa. 90:10; 73:14, 16-17, 25; Eccl. 1:2-11, 14. Fallen people have no real dwelling place; they are drifting about and wandering without a home, because God is man’s real dwelling place - Psa. 90:1; Gen. 28:17-19; John 15:4; Matt. 11:28. Witness LeeOur real dwelling place, our home, the place we reside and live the sweet family life in the church life, is God Himself. God is our dwelling place throughout the generations, and apart from God we have no home, no real dwelling place (Psa. 90:1).

We may be running away from God or from some situations, just as Jacob did, but wherever we are, if God is there, we have the dwelling place of God, and we are at home, for God is our real dwelling place (see Gen. 28:17-19).

The Lord Jesus came not only to be our life and life-supply but also our dwelling place; He came to graft us into Himself as the real universal vine, and we simply need to abide in Him, our real dwelling place (John 15:4).

Many times, however, we wander away from God, and our human life is filled with vanity, toils, and suffering; the Lord as our real jubilee in our spirit is waiting for us to come to Him, and whenever we come to the Lord, He will give us rest and peace for our souls (Matt. 11:28).

Human life apart from God is nothing but labor and sorrow, and it will soon be gone; the true condition of human life is vanity of vanities, emptiness of emptinesses – it is a chasing after wind (see Eccl. 1:2-14).

This is why many rich people – who should supposedly be happy and content – do all kinds of crazy things including taking their own life; riches, fame, and position cannot satisfy man – only God is our inheritance, and only God is our real dwelling place.

If we do not have Christ, all is vain; if we have Christ within and we abide in Him, all is gain. All things are vain – only Christ is gain. Fallen people have no real dwelling place; they are drifting about and wandering about without a home, because God is man’s real dwelling place.

Because we has lost God as our inheritance, possession, and dwelling place, we are looking for many things to replace God. We may live in large mansions, high-rise buildings, and have a lot of precious things in our home, but without God as our dwelling place, we have no real rest, no dwelling place.

We need to realise that God is our real dwelling place, God is our real possession, and God is our inheritance. Without having God as our possession and dwelling place, we are poor, wandering, and slaves under sin.

Only God can offer us real satisfaction, real comfort, and a real feeling of home; without having God as the center of our home, we don’t really have a dwelling place.

This is why we all need to enter into the jubilee and be returned to God as our possession and to God as our real home!

Lord, You have been our dwelling place throughout the generations. Without You we have no real dwelling place, no home on this earth. We come to You, Lord, and we want to abide in You and take You as our dwelling place. Save us from wandering in our mind in the world, away from God as our dwelling place. Keep us home in You, home in Christ, and home in the church! Amen, Lord, we want to proclaim the jubilee for all fallen men who have no real dwelling place, those who are drifting about without a home. May many be returned to God as man’s real dwelling place!
