Christ is the reality of all positive things in the universe, and God in Christ is the reality of all the divine things revealed in the Bible. It is in Christ that all the fulness of the Godhead dwells, and He is the embodiment of all that God is.
In the whole universe nothing is real – the universe is an empty shell unless we have God. The universe itself is a mystery, but in this mystery there’s a center of reality – the Triune God Himself! Without God, the universe is empty and void!
God, Christ, and the Spirit are the reality, the truth
The truth in the Bible is not only the sound doctrine or the things that are true and real, but it refers to God, Christ, and the Spirit as the truth, the reality. All the positive things in the Bible are only shadows – Christ is the reality of all the positive things in the Bible. In the whole universe God Himself is the reality, and without God the universe is void and empty.
What makes the universe beautiful is God as the Only One that’s real. God is embodied and fully expressed in Christ – Christ is the truth, the reality (John 14:6).
Also, the Spirit is truth, reality (1 John 5:6) – the Spirit is called the Spirit of reality, and the Spirit makes real all the things concerning God and Christ to us. The entire Triune God is the truth, the reality, the only real thing in the universe!
We are not real – our human body is not real, it is here today but it is gone in a few years. Even dictators or emperors, well-known personalities, pop stars and other famous people – none of them is real!
Nothing in this universe is true and real – it is only God who is real, the Triune God is real and true!
The Word of God is truth, reality
How do we know God? How can we touch and experience God? The Word of God as the truth (John 17:17) is the definition, explanation, and expression of God. Actually, the entire Triune God is embodied, expressed, and explained in Christ as the Word of God. The Word of God is real – it is the truth, the reality.
Any other book, no matter how popular or well-known it may be, is not real; our speaking and our writings as human beings are not real unless they have God as their content! When the Word of God says, God is light (1 John 1:5) – it conveys God as light to us! The Word of God is true and real.
The real situation concerning man, salvation, the universe, man’s relationship with man and God, our obligation to God, etc – is conveyed in the Word of God. All these different things can become realities and can be real only when they relate to God in His Word. God makes things real – we become real when we have God.
The Word of God is real because it contains God in it. By enjoying God as the reality we become real, genuine, and Christ as reality becomes our human reality and genuineness. We can know God in His Word and when we take His Word into us, we are filled with reality!
God as reality makes us real and genuine
We all need to spend much time in the Word of God and in the presence of the Lord to see what is real, what is the reality in this universe, and how can we become real and genuine human beings. We all think we are OK, but when we come to the Word of God we discover that we live a lie, the whole world is a lie, and nothing that we can see, touch, or feel is real! Only God is real, and only by receiving God into us can we be genuine and true human beings living God and expressing God! Here’s a quote from the life-study of 1 John concerning this,
God, Christ, and the Spirit—the Divine Trinity—are essentially one. Hence, these three, being the basic elements of the substance of the divine reality, are actually one reality. This one divine reality is the substance of the Word of God as the divine revelation. Hence, it becomes the revealed divine reality in the divine Word and makes the divine Word the reality. The divine Word conveys this one divine reality as the contents of the faith, and the contents of the faith are the substance of the gospel revealed in the entire New Testament as its reality, which is just the divine reality of the Divine Trinity. When this divine reality is partaken of and enjoyed by us, it becomes our genuineness, sincerity, honesty, and trustworthiness as an excellent virtue in our behavior to express God, the God of reality, by whom we live; and we become persons living a life of truth, without any falsehood or hypocrisy, a life which corresponds to the truth revealed through creation and the Scripture.

Lord Jesus, unveil us to see the reality! We want to see the truth and be constituted with the truth that we also may be true human beings. Save us from living a lie and believing the lie which lies before our eyes. O, Lord, we want reality! We want to touch what is real – the Triune God! May we see that nothing else is real but God! You are the One giving sense to the universe, and You fill our life with meaning and reality!
Praise the Lord. That after the resurrection of the Lord He became the life-giving spirit. So by calling His name He is working within us. He wanted us to joined with Him. Thank the Lord also that He is everything to us
