We Give Heed to the Shining Word of Prophecy in the Scripture until the Day Dawns

And to him I will give the morning star. Rev. 2:28

As we give heed to the prophetic word as to a lamp shining in a dark place, Christ as the morning star rises in our heart and we experience the dawning of a spiritual day; we need to pray-read the word of God until something within us is shining, we love the Lord, and we experience the new day dawning in us until the Lord comes back!

Lord Jesus, we love You and we love Your word. We come to You in Your word to read, pray, and prayerfully consider Your word. Thank You for the word of prophecy in the Scriptures. May we give heed to the prophetic word. We exercise our spirit to pray over Your word and we exercise our heart of love to just love You and open to You! Rise up in us as the morning star and bring us into a bright day inwardly as we enjoy You in Your word! Amen!

When we read the Bible and turn our heart to the Lord, even exercise our spirit to call on His name and contact Him, we realise that the word of God conveys spiritual light.

The prophetic word of the Scripture is like the shining lamp in a dark place; it conveys spiritual light shining in our darkness.

There is not just knowledge of God and His desire in God’s word for our mental apprehension; rather, we are brought into the dawning of day, for the Lord rises up in us as the morning star.

His rising up in us as the morning star guides us to enter into a bright day, even to pass through the dark night until the Lord’s appearing dawns. Amen!

We believers in Christ have God’s life in us, and we are full of life and light within; whenever we turn to our spirit, we touch the Lord as life and we’re filled with light.

But as we do this and that, as we go to work, take care of many things in our human life, and just live as humans, we are brought back into darkness in so many aspects of our living. So we need to give heed to the prophetic word.

We need to come to the Lord in His word to read and pray, pray and read His word. The Lord can be found by us not only in our spirit but also in His word.

He speaks His words to us, and we exercise our spirit to receive and enjoy His speaking in His word.

All the people in the world today are moving and acting in darkness, but we believers in Christ as God’s spiritual people are people of light, for we have Christ as light shining within us.

May we learn to daily come to the Lord in His word to receive His shining and have the morning star rise in our hearts until we are led into a bright new day, the dawning of the Lord’s coming! Amen!

Pray-Read the Word of God until we Love the Lord and have His Rising up in us as the Morning Star to bring us into the Dawning of the Day

Your word is a lamp to my feet / And a light to my path. Psa. 119:105 He was the lamp that was burning and shining, and you were willing to exult for a while in his light. John 5:35

We love the Lord Jesus and we love His word; as we love the Lord and open to Him, we come to Him in His word, for He is embodied in His word.

We love the word of God by giving heed to the Word until something within is dawning and rising in our heart. It is not the knowledge in God’s word or the written code but the breaking through of day, the rising of the shining star.

We can testify that, as we read the Bible regularly in our time with the Lord, sometimes we feel like we don’t receive anything in our reading.

At other times, however, when we open our heart to the Lord and give heed to the prophetic word, something within us is shining, rising, dawning, and breaking through.

We start by being in darkness, and as we give heed to God’s word with much prayer and prayerful consideration, something of the light rises up in us!

As we pray-read the word of God (Eph. 6:17-18), there’s a sense deep within of enlightening and shining; as the Lord shines on us, we see who He is, we realise who we are, and we repent.

We simply confess our sins, and we give ourselves to the Lord to love Him. We are in the light, we see Him in the light, His blood cleanses us, and we enjoy fellowship with the Lord and with one another (1 John 1:7, 9).

The result is that we just love the Lord. A sense of loving the Lord rises up in us as we pray-read the Word with our heart open to Him. We simply tell Him that we love Him, and we appreciate His loveliness. He is the most wonderful One!

It is by coming to the Lord in His word to have His shining that we love the Lord and are beside ourselves with love for the Lord Jesus! He is to us as the dawning day, as the morning star rising in our hearts.

Outwardly, the situation is so dark, there are so many problems, and nothing may change, but inwardly we are filled with light, for there’s the shining of the Lord, the dawning of the day.

We all have experienced this. We sought the Lord in His word, we gave heed to the prophetic word, and something within is enlightening and shining, even filling us with His glory, His presence.

The fact that the day dawns (2 Pet. 1:19) shows us that there is a time coming that is full of light, as a bright day dawns; before then, there’s the morning star rising in our hearts, for we are illuminated by giving heed to the shining word of prophecy in the Scripture.

There’s a shining rising from the depths of our being – the Lord goes into the depths of our being with the light to saturate us with His light and shine in our being.

Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, with which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will recompense me in that day, and not only me but also all those who have loved His appearing. 2 Tim. 4:8Eventually, He as the light will shine out of us, making us luminaries in the world, those holding forth the word of life, shining as a city situated upon a mountain.

May we not be afraid of the Lord’s light but rather, may we pray-read the word of God to have His shining in us (Rom. 13:12; 1 Thes. 5:4-5, 8).

If we wake up early in the morning, when it is still dark, and watch the sunrise, we will see how everything changes and comes to life as the sun rises and the day dawns.

On the one hand, Christ is making His home in our heart; on the other hand, He is rising up in our hearts as we give heed to the shining word of prophecy in the Scripture.

May we come to the Lord in His word day by day. May we read the Bible consistently and continually, and may we pray over God’s word.

As we come to the Lord’s word, we need to come to Him, for He is the One who gives us life and light (John 5:39-40). He rises up in our hearts as the morning star, and a new day dawns in us!

Lord Jesus, we come to You in Your word. We come to enjoy You and receive Your shining in Your word. Oh Lord, we turn our heart to You. We turn from anything else to You so that we may behold You in Your word. We exercise our spirit to call on Your name and pray-read the Word of God. Shine on us and shine within us through Your word. Lord, we need Your shining. We love You, Lord! We love reading and praying over Your word! Oh Lord Jesus, as we come to You in Your word, we see You face to face! We confess our sins and we apply Your precious blood. We focus only on You and we appreciate You, for You are the most lovely One! Amen, Lord, rise up in us as the morning star! May there be a shining in our being as we come to You in Your word, little by little, day by day! May we be brought to the dawning of a bright spiritual day as we pray-read the word! Oh Lord Jesus, we want to give heed to the word of prophecy in the Scripture as to a lamp shining in a dark place! Amen!

Give Heed to the Shining Word of Prophecy in the Scripture until the Day Dawns

And we have the prophetic word made more firm, to which you do well to give heed as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 2 Pet. 1:19

Many times we are in darkness, and we come to the Lord in His word, even come to the prophecies in the Bible. As we study the prophecies, a lamp begins to shine within us.

This is our experience many times; a lamp begins to shine in us whenever we come to God’s word, especially as we give heed to the shining word of prophecy in the Scripture.

Spontaneously, we sense that we’re no longer in the darkness, no longer in the night, but we’re in the day, for a spiritual day has dawned within us. How pleasant it is to be here, in the bright spiritual day!

But you, brothers, are not in darkness that the day should overtake you like a thief; For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness...But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and a helmet, the hope of salvation. 1 Thes. 5:4-5, 8Around us there may still be darkness, but within us there’s a morning star.

In the time of apostasy, in the time of degradation and deviation from the central lane of God’s economy, we believers do well to give heed to the prophetic word.

As we give heed to the shining word of prophecy in the Scripture, Christ will rise up in us through the darkness of apostasy until a spiritual day dawns upon us (Psa. 119:105; John 5:35).

This will cause us and encourage us to earnestly seek the Lord’s presence and be watchful so that we may not miss the Lord in His secret part of His coming, when He comes as a thief.

This metaphor of the dawning of a bright spiritual day as we heed the prophetic word must allude to the coming age, the age of the kingdom, as a day that will dawn at the appearing of the Lord, at His coming as the Sun of righteousness (Mal. 4:2).

His light will shine to break through the gloom of the dark night of this age.

We read in Matthew 24 that, when the Lord comes, from two brothers working in the field, one will be taken and the other will be left, and from the two sisters grinding at the mill, one will be taken, and one will be left.

We don’t know whether one was more spiritual or mature than others, but we know that one was ready to be raptured. We want to be ready for the rapture by daily giving heed to the prophetic word of the Scripture.

Today we are in the darkest hour of the night, before the Lord’s appearing; He wants to appear as the morning star (Rev. 2:28; 22:16) to those who are watchful and looking for His imminent appearing (2 Tim. 4:8).

May we come to the Lord’s word day by day, and particularly, may we give heed to the shining word of prophecy in the Scripture.

We need to study and pray over the prophecies in the Bible. As we do this, we are filled with light and hope.

We can testify that, as we read and pray over the word of prophecy in the Scripture, the Lord rises up in us as the morning star, and a bright spiritual day dawns on us.

If we read and pray over the prophecies in Daniel, Revelation, and the other books, we are enlightened. On the one hand, we need to pray-read the word of God regularly and consistently to receive the Lord’s supply and His shining.

On the other hand, we need to particularly give heed to the shining prophetic word in the Bible as to a lamp shining in a dark place.

Especially as we hear of wars, rumours of wars, and all kinds of diseases, famine, and death spreading everywhere, as we see the corruption and evil in the world multiplying, and as we see the love of so many believers growing cold, may we give heed to the shining of the prophetic word in the Scriptures.

Great changes take place in the world, and even in one night, a major event may take place to change the course of an entire nation; we need to read and pray the prophetic word in the Scripture to be enlightened by the Lord.

As we do this, we will not be surprised or shaken by what is happening in the outward world history, for we have the prophetic word made more firm (1 Pet. 1:10; 2 Pet. 3:2; Luke 1:70).

Even more, as we see the day drawing near, as we see the outward world situation matching what the Lord tells us in His word that will take place, we have Christ rising in us as the morning star.

Outwardly, we live in an age of darkness, and darkness becomes darker and darker; inwardly, however, we are full of light.

So that you would remember the words spoken before by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior preached by your apostles. 2 Pet. 3:2 Even as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from of old. Luke 1:70May we continue to inwardly enjoy the morning star and the dawning of a spiritual day until the time the Lord appears as the morning star to the watchful ones and dawns as the Sun of righteousness!

May we allow the prophetic word in the Scriptures to enlighten us and lead us to the dawning day.

It is a good practice for us to take three chapters in the Old Testament and one chapter in the New Testament to read every day, just going through the Old and the New Testament daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly, so that we may have the Lord’s shining in us through His word.

It is also good to take book after book in the New Testament and just to pray through it; pray over every verse and every chapter, pray-read it until the Lord shines in you.

And it is good to come together with the saints to pray for the Lord’s move, even to pray that He will produce His overcomers, strengthen the shining of the lampstands, and gain what He is after before He returns.

We pray not for this president to be overthrown or for that regime to be terminated; we pray for the Lord to gain the reality of the Body of Christ in the local churches and for Him to have His way to arrange the world situation for the return of the Lord.

Lord Jesus, we want to give heed to the shining of the prophetic word of the Scriptures! Amen, Lord, we exercise our spirit and we come to Your word day by day. We give ourselves to read the Bible. May You shine on us and within us as we remain in Your word. We hold to Your word. We abide in Your word. We want to be filled with the Word. We take Your word as our food, our drink, our supply, and our light. May we be those who study the prophecies in God’s word with much prayerful consideration. Enlighten us, Lord, and establish us in the word. May there be a rising up of Christ as the morning star in our being as we give heed to the shining prophetic word in the Scriptures! Oh Lord, fill us with light inwardly! We want to have Christ as the morning star rise in our heart until the dawning of the spiritual day! Amen, Lord, establish us in Your word. May the prophetic word in the Scriptures shine within us until the day dawns and the morning star rises in our hearts! Amen!

    – Christ within, as the pow’r, in our spirit lives; / Christ without is the Word—all God’s promises. / Now the key is that we daily contact both, / Calling, praying, reading to produce the growth. / Faith and pow’r, promises—these our full supply. / Diligence, diligence, let us now apply; / For if we, to these three, full attention show / From the seed of faith the fruit of love will grow. – O Morning Star, how fair and bright, / Thou beamest forth in truth and light! / O Sov’reign meek and lowly, / Thou Root of Jesse, David’s Son, / My Lord and Master, Thou hast won / My heart to serve Thee solely! / Thou art holy, / Fair and glorious, all-victorious, / Rich in blessing, / Rule and might o’er all possessing.
