We need to Follow the Lamb wherever He may go and be Faithful to Him until the End

2 Tim. 4:7 I have fought the good fight; I have finished the course; I have kept the faith. If we would fulfill the ultimate responsibility in God’s ultimate move, we need to follow the Lamb wherever He may go, seeking His leading and following Him on the journey ordained by Him, faithfully walking on it and being one with Him.

On the one hand, Christ is the One enthroned in the heavens as a Man, and the God-man Jesus Christ is the Ruler over the kings of the earth; on the other hand, He is the Lamb who leads us in God’s move, and we need to follow Him on the way ordained by Him.

We need to know and experience Christ as the center of the divine administration according to God’s eternal economy, and we need to realize that He is the Ruler over the kings of the earth, He is the Administrator of the universe, and all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him.

He became a man, He was crucified and buried, and God resurrected Him and set Him at His right hand, making Him the Lord of all the universe. Now Christ is on the throne of the divine administration – the Lamb, the Redeemer, the One slain on the cross for our sins, is now on the throne carrying out God’s administration over the entire universe!

All the affairs of the nations are under His rulership, and He is the chief Ruler in the divine government for the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. Christ rules sovereignly over the earth with His authority so that the environment may be fit for God’s people to receive His salvation.

We as God’s people need to experience Christ and know Him as the One who is on the throne in the heavens, and we also need to learn to follow Him as the Lamb leading us in our spirit on our personal journey before Him.

When we hear of the Lord’s move, we may think that we all have to do this or go there; what we need to do is to go before the Lord and seek His will so that He may show us the personal journey He wants us to have with Him, in the context of the Body.

We shouldn’t be individualistic, but we should seek the Lord’s leading concerning our personal journey ordained by Him, faithfully walking on it and being one with the Lord in His move.

We need to Follow the Lamb wherever He may go on the Journey Ordained by Him

Rev. 14:4 These are they who have not been defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb wherever He may go. These were purchased from among men as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.If we would fulfill the ultimate responsibility in God’s ultimate move, we need to be those who follow the Lamb wherever He may go (Rev. 14:4).

In Rev. 14 we see the scene of the rapture of the firstfruits before the great tribulation for the Father’s satisfaction, and the manchild attaining the out-resurrection from the dead to deal with the enemy. The firstfruits, that is, the living overcomers raptured by the Lord before the great tribulation, are those who follow the Lamb wherever He may go.

We need to settle this matter before the Lord, knowing that He as the Lamb is on the throne, and we follow Him wherever He may go. Even though we may wrestle with the Lord in our time with Him, honestly struggling with Him, we need to come to the conclusion, Lord, wherever You may go, I want to follow the Lamb!

If we as members of the Body do this, following the Lamb wherever He may lead us, then He has a corporate Body on earth who cooperate with His move.

We need to drop having the church life on our terms, where we want it to be and how we want it to be, and follow the Lamb wherever He leads us to go!

To follow the Lamb is to be one with the crucified, resurrected, ascended, and enthroned Redeemer in His move to carry out the divine administration for the consummation of the divine economy (Rev. 1:5; 5:6; 14:4).

We all should follow the Lamb on the journey ordained by Him. The apostle Paul speaks of the course given to each one of us by the Lord, saying at the end that he has finished his course… (Acts 20:24).

In Matt. 6:45 the Lord compelled (constrained, same as in 2 Cor. 5:14) His disciples to step into the boat and go before to the other side, while He sent the crowd away.

We all are compelled, constrained, by the Lord to take the way He has ordained for us, and faithfully walk on it. However, not many seek the Lord concerning the way He has ordained for them, and if they do seek Him about it, not many follow the Lamb wherever He may lead us in the context of the Body.

The most important task for each of us is to put ourselves into God’s hand in a quiet, patient, prayerful, consecrated, and obedient way and wholeheartedly seek after His leading. We should be willing to obey Him and act only in accordance with His will. We should pray that He reveal to us the journey He has designated for us. After this, we should pay any price to wholeheartedly walk on it. (Collected Works of Watchman Nee, vol. 10, p. 424)

Each one of us, in the context of the Body of Christ, has a personal journey, a course, that is marked out for us by God. This makes everything in the Lord’s move not individualistic but personal.

10, p. 424)We want to stay on the course and finish the course God has ordained for us to be His overcomers. We need to seek out the journey that the Lord has ordained for us, and faithfully walk on it, paying any price to wholeheartedly continue our journey until we reach the end (2 Tim. 4:7).

We shouldn’t be like Peter in John 21, after the Lord revealed to him what kind of death he will have to glorify God, and ask, Lord, what about this other one next to me (in his case, John)?

We need to know the Lord as the Lord, the Leader, and the Head, and seek out from Him whatever our course is. The goal is to finish the course the Lord has ordained for us, and this is also to follow the Lamb wherever He may go.

We need to personally seek the Lord concerning His move, the world situation, and our course, and take the course He gives us. Our personal longing is that we would receive mercy to be faithful to the end, to follow the Lamb wherever He may go, and finish the course He has ordained for us.

Lord Jesus, we want to follow the Lamb wherever He may go. We settle this in our being once and for all: You are on the throne, You lead us and guide us, and we follow the Lamb wherever He leads us! Lord, we seek You concerning the journey You ordained for us. We want to know the journey You ordained for us and faithfully walk on it, paying any price to wholeheartedly continue on our journey until we reach the end! We want to seek You, Lord, concerning Your move, the world’s ultimate situation, and our course, that we may receive mercy and be faithful to the end, to follow the Lamb wherever He may go and finish our course!

Asking the Lord for Mercy to be Faithful to the End in God’s Ultimate Move

Rev. 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and they who are with Him, the called and chosen and faithful, will also overcome them. For us to bear the ultimate responsibility in God’s ultimate move requires faithfulness; we therefore need to ask the Lord for mercy to be faithful.

As stewards of God, those who seek Him concerning the course He has ordained for us so that we may follow the Lamb wherever He may go, we want to be found faithful (2 Cor. 4:2; 7:25; Matt. 24:25; 25:21, 23).

We want to be the overcomers, those who return with Christ and are called the chosen and faithful (Rev. 17:14). We want to run the race set before us (Heb. 12:1-2), knowing that we didn’t choose this race but God set it before us.

We need to be faithful to the Lord until the end in the course He has set for us, learning to be one with Him in every situation.

The apostle Paul is a good pattern in this respect; in 1 Cor. 7:25 he speaks concerning virgins not marrying, and he gives his “opinion” as one who has been shown mercy by the Lord to be faithful to the Lord’s interests.

He was so one with the Lord that, even though he didn’t have any commandment from the Lord concerning a particular matter, he still uttered his opinion, knowing he was one with the Lord in that. Wow!

We need to be those who daily learn to be one with the Lord and to be faithful to Him, asking the Lord for His mercy to the end in God’s ultimate move.

We may go through things and be involved in things in which the Lord may not give us a particular leading or commandment, but we open to the Lord and remain one with Him, and even our own feeling concerning things will be one with the Lord.

We need to be one with the Lord in big things and in small things until our opinion expresses the Lord’s desire, and we are found faithful to Him in all things.

He may not give us a great gift or many talents, as in the parable in Matt. 25:23, but we want to be found faithful in using His gift to the fullest extent, for the Lord’s appraisal and reward are not related to the size and quantity of our work but to our faithfulness in using His gift to the fullest extent.

May we all look to the Lord to be faithful to the end. May we be faithful to the Lord in this ultimate world situation in His ultimate move for His ultimate recovery, for us to be saturated with Christ for the reality of the Body of Christ, as the preparation of the Bride of Christ.

And may we be faithful to fulfill the measure of responsibility God has measured out to us, following the Lamb wherever He may go. On that day, we want to hear those words from Him, Well done, good and faithful slave!

Lord Jesus, we ask You for mercy that we would be faithful to You in Your ultimate move until the end. We want to use the gift You have given to us to the fullest extent, and we want to be fully one with You in all things in our daily life. Saturate us and permeate us with Yourself for the reality of the Body of Christ as the preparation of the bride of Christ. Lord, may we be faithful to fulfill the measure of responsibility You have measured out to us as we follow the Lamb wherever He may go!

Mark 6:45 says, “And immediately He compelled His disciples to step into the boat and go before to the other side, toward Bethsaida, while He sent the crowd away.”…This verse tells us that every one of us has a journey ordained by Him. The word “compelled” here is the same as the word “constrains” used in 2 Corinthians 5:14. The Lord constrained the disciples to step into the boat. The Lord has died for them and is now constraining them to take the journey….The most important thing in the Christian life is to seek out the journey which the Lord has ordained and faithfully walk on it. A poor phenomenon among believers today is that many have not found the journey that the Lord has ordained for them. Some, even though they have found it, do not walk on it. This is the reason that their living is filled with so much spiritual death, gloom, and restriction, and this is the reason that there are so many conflicts and arguments in God’s work. 10, p. 424)
