Experience and Enjoy Christ as our Emancipator by the Law of the Spirit of Life

For the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death. Rom. 8:2

We can experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by the law of the Spirit of life; we simply need to cease from our struggling and striving and simply remain in the touch with the Lord so that the law of the Spirit of life would operate in us spontaneously and effortlessly! Hallelujah!

This week in our morning revival, we come to Romans chapter 8 and we are enjoying the wonderful matter of, Christ as the Emancipator and as the One who makes us more than Conquerors. Praise the Lord!

Christ is our Emancipator; Rom. 8:2 says that the law of the Spirit of life has freed us in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death.

This is real emancipation, real freedom.

In our flesh, there is the law of sin and of death which operates in us spontaneously, and this law is stronger than the law of good in our mind, even stronger than our own power and strength.

The apostle Paul tried to use his will to overcome this law, but it was futile; the law of sin and of death is much stronger than our will.

The law of the moral commandments, the law of God, is a portrait of who God is. God is love, light, holiness, and righteousness; the law expresses who God is.

The law, however, is not for us to keep or to try to fulfill it in our own strength.

Rather, we need to learn to turn to our spirit, where the Lord as the Spirit dwells (Rom. 8:16), and activate the law of the Spirit of life so that we may spontaneously overcome the law of sin and of death.

Just as Newton discovered the law of gravity, realizing that everything on earth falls to the ground and there’s a force that draws everything to the earth, so we need to discover that the law of sin and of death is very powerful, and it works automatically.

However, just as there’s the law of aerodynamics which allows an airplane to overcome the law of gravity and fly, we need to see that there’s the law of the Spirit of life which causes us to soar above the law of sin and of death, overcoming it spontaneously. Praise the Lord!

Just as no matter how much we try to overcome the law of gravity in our own strength, we will fail, so spiritually speaking, no matter how much we try to overcome the law of sin and of death, we will not succeed.

May we learn how to activate the law of the Spirit of life day by day, even moment by moment, so that we may be in Christ Jesus, spontaneously overcoming the law of sin and of death.

May we be those who learn to turn from our efforts, struggles, and striving, and just activate the law of the Spirit of life in our daily life!

Experience, Enjoy, and Express Christ as our Emancipator by the Law of the Spirit of Life

The Spirit Himself witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. Rom. 8:16 Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith...Heb. 12:2a I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me. Phil. 4:13Rom. 8:2 shows us the way for us to experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by the law of the Spirit of life.

The enjoyment of the law of the Spirit of life in Romans 8 ushers us into the reality of the Body of Christ in Romans 12.

This law, the law the Spirit of life, operates within us as we live in the Body and for the Body (Rom. 8:2, 28-29; 12:1-2, 11; Phil. 1:19).

We can say that Rom. 9-11 is a paranthetical portion; Romans 8 continues in Romans 12, for by the enjoyment of the law of the Spirit of life we are ushered into the reality of the Body of Christ. Amen!

What is the law of the Spirit of life? Every life has a law; human life has a law, and this is the highest created life, so it has a law that is higher than any other created life.

However, God’s life is the highest life, and the law of this life is the highest law (see John 1:4-5; 12:24; 14:6a; 10:10b; 1 Cor. 15:45). Actually, it is the life that is the law.

The Spirit who gives life, the life-giving Spirit, is the law of the Spirit of life operating in us.

Just as the law of life in a cat shapes that cat and makes that cat behave like a cat, doing things that a cat would do, so the law of the Spirit of life shapes us to be like God, live like God, and even become like God in every possible way. Amen!

The Triune God went through the processes of incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to become the law of the Spirit of life installed in our spirit as a “scientific” law, an automatic principle (Rom. 8:2-3, 11, 34, 16).

On the one hand, at the time of our regeneration, we received the life of God and, therefore, were regenerated to be children of God.

On the other hand, when we were born again, God was installed in our being as an automatic principle, a scientific law, the law of the Spirit of life; this is one of the biggest discoveries – even recoveries – in God’s economy. Amen!

When we discover this, when we realize that God is in us as the law of the Spirit of life, we will truly experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by the law of the Spirit of life.

The law of the Spirit of life is the spontaneous power of the divine life; it is the natural characteristic and the innate, automatic function of the divine life (Rom. 8:2; Phil. 2:13; Ezek. 36:26-27; Prov. 30:18-19; Isa. 40:28-31; Heb. 12:2a; Phil. 4:13; Col. 1:28-29).

I will also give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and My ordinances you shall keep and do. Ezek. 36:26-27God promised to make a new covenant with His people in which He will give them a new heart to love Him and a new spirit to contact Him, He puts His Spirit within us, and He takes away the heart of stone and gives us a heart of flesh to love Him.

This is the new covenant we are enjoying today.

He not only regenerates us; He comes into us as the spontaneous power of the divine life, and He operates in us to soften our heart, write His laws on our hearts and infuse us with all that He is inwardly.

Our heart used to be hard, but He is softening us and giving us a soft heart to know Him and love Him. And He causes us to walk in His statutes.

This is all by the inner operation of the law of the Spirit of life.

Today we as believers in Christ do not need to strive or struggle to please God but just open to Him, for it is God who operates in us both the willing and the working for His good pleasure.

He knows our heart, He knows and understands our situation, and He directs our heart, even searching the innermost parts of our being and giving us strength.

As we wait on Jehovah, we will renew our strength, even mount up wings like eagles.

We will run and we will not become weary, and we will walk and not faint. We simply need to look away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, and He will inwardly supply us.

Lord Jesus, we want to experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by the law of the Spirit of life! Praise the Lord, the Triune God has been processed through incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, to become the law of the Spirit of life installed in our spirit! Wow, Lord, thank You for coming in us not only as our life but also as the law of the Spirit of life, a “scientific” law and an automatic principle to operate in us spontaneously and effortlessly! We open to You today. May we realize that the highest law of life is in us, in our mingled spirit. Hallelujah, the Lord is with our spirit, and the Spirit witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God. Amen, Lord, may we make this discovery in God’s economy that the divine life is in us and this life has the law of the Spirit of life which causes us to overcome the law of sin and of death! Praise the Lord, it is God who operates in us both the willing and the working according to His good pleasure. Amen, Lord, may we experience, enjoy, and express Christ as the Emancipator today!

Remain in the Touch with the Lord for the Law of the Spirit of Life to Work in us

For it is God who operates in you both the willing and the working for His good pleasure. Phil. 2:13

How can we have the law of the Spirit of life operate in us? Rom. 8:2 tells us that the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death.

As long as we remain in the touch with the Lord, staying in contact with Him, this law of the Spirit of life works in us automatically, spontaneously, and effortlessly.

We have the Lord as the life-giving Spirit in our spirit, and when we contact Him and remain in contact with Him, He operates in us as the law of the Spirit of life in a spontaneous and automatic way to infuse us with what God is and deliver us from the law of sin and of death. Amen!

As seen in Rom. 7:18, Paul willed again and again to do the good with which he agreed in his mind, but the result was only repeated failure.

Trust in Him at all times, O people; / Pour out your heart before Him; / God is a refuge to us. Selah Psalm 62:8 Unceasingly pray. 1 Thes. 5:17The best a man could do is have resolutions, but he cannot do the good that he wants to do.

If we have not seen that sin is a law and that our will can never overcome this law, we are trapped in Rom. 7; we will never arrive at Romans 8.

When sin is dormant in us, it is merely sin, but when it is aroused in us by our willing to do the good, it becomes “the evil”, as seen in Rom. 7:21.

Even though we are believers in Christ, we still find that there’s in us a law that wills to do the good, but we can’t do it, for the evil is also present with us.

Instead of willing to do the good, we should simply set our mind on the spirit and walk according to the spirit (Rom. 8:6, 4; Phil. 2:13).

Instead of fighting the law of sin in our members, we should simply remain in the touch with the Lord in our daily life.

We have something called the touch with the Lord, our mingled spirit; in our spirit we are in Christ and Christ is in us, and in our spirit we are joined to the Lord as one spirit (1 Cor. 6:17).

One very simple way for us to cooperate with the indwelling, installed, automatic, and operating God as the law of the Spirit of life is simply by conversing with Him.

1 Thes. 5:17 tells us to pray unceasingly; to pray unceasingly is to have a continual conversation with the Lord.

We may be tired and we may sigh; even when we’re tired, we can tell the Lord, Lord, I am tired.

When we go to school or to the office, we can converse with the Lord about it, opening to Him concerning our classmates or workmates, and we can tell Him about our problems, our worries, and all our situations.

We need to learn to converse with the Lord and maintain our fellowship with Him; we need to speak to Him genuinely from the heart.

As Psa. 62:8 says, we need to trust in Him at all times and pour out our heart before Him.

Our God is a refuge; we need to find refuge in Him and speak to Him concerning all things.

Many times, we are very concerned about our inward condition and our outward situation; instead of overcaring for these, we need to come to the Lord and enter into His presence.

We can experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by speaking to Him in all things, opening to Him, and enjoying Him.

May we enter into God’s presence to contact Him by looking at Him, beholding Him, praising Him, giving thanks to Him, worshipping Him, and absorbing Him.

Then we will taste God’s riches and sweetness, and we will receive Him as light and power.

For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but to work out the good is not...I find then the law, with me who wills to do the good, because the evil is present with me. Rom. 7:18, 21 For the law of the Spirit of life has freed me in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and of death. Rom. 8:2We will inwardly be peaceful, bright, strong, and empowered.

May we cooperate with the indwelling, installed, automatic, and inner operating God by prayer and by having a spirit of dependence, depending on the Lord in all things.

As we exercise our spirit and contact the Lord in all things, we will maintain our fellowship with the Lord of life and the Lord of work (1 Thes. 5:17; Eph. 6:17-18).

As long as we remain in the touch with the Lord in our daily life, the law of the Spirit of life will spontaneously and automatically work in us.

Our problems will be reduced and many of our “germs” will be killed.

This is what we need today, and this is the help that others need.

The real help we can offer others is to help them touch the Lord as the Spirit in their spirit, for once they remain in the touch with the Lord, they will have the negative things eliminated and the divine life in them will increase.

We may plant or water others, but we can’t give them life or cause them to grow; we can bring them to the Lord for Him to give them life.

May we care for the sense of life in our spirit so that we may remain in the fellowship of life, the flowing of the divine life, for the operation of the law of the Spirit of life (Rom. 8:6, 16; 1 John 1:2-3, 6-7).

It is good to open to the Lord and tell Him,

Lord Jesus, we come to You to just touch You. We don’t want to ask anything of You, nor do we require You to do things for us: we just want to touch You. We want to remain in the touch with You by fellowshipping with You about all things. Keep us open to You today. Keep us conversing with You concerning all the things of our daily life. We want to remain here, in the touch with You, in all things and in all situations. Amen, Lord, we open to You and we come to You again and again. We want to cooperate with the indwelling, installed, automatic, and inner operating God by prayer and by having a spirit of dependence on the Lord. We simply want to maintain our fellowship with You in all things. May we cease from all our struggling and striving and simply come to You! Amen, Lord, may we experience, enjoy, and express Christ as our Emancipator by the inner operation of the law of the Spirit of life! Operate in us today! We want to care for the sense of life in our spirit to remain in the fellowship of life in all things!

We all have to contact the Lord, to fellowship with Him, to touch Him. Sometimes in the past we may have touched Him in an accidental way. Still we touched Him, and something happened. Through the centuries Christians who have experienced these things have encouraged us to have a time with God. But the problem is this: when we get in touch with God and with this law by spending some time with God, right away we make up our mind to do things, and then we are out of the touch with the Lord. In our prayer time we are in, but out of our prayer time we are out. The more you are in touch with the Lord without asking Him to do something for you, without deciding to do something for Him, without attempting to please Him, there will be a kind of automatic working within you to eliminate the sinful flesh. The negative things within you will be reduced and eliminated. It is not that you overcome something or that you kill something, but there is an automatic killing. While you remain in the touch with the Lord, the law of the Spirit of life works.

Amen!

Another beautiful day, another day for the Lord to work in us, not only as our life but our law.

He works in us by law, not by activity. We have nothing to ask of You, we just want to remain with You and touch You today, Lord.

Life is the content of the Spirit, whereas The Spirit is the ultimate and consummated Triune God passing through the process of incarnation, living human life, crucifixion, resurrection with the power of the Holy Spirit as the life giving Spirit breathing into us so that we can have life.

This is the law of the Spirit of Life which makes us free from the law of sin and death.

After this emancipation, the emancipator is growing in us so we can be matured to be like Him in life and nature.

After our regeneration, this law is not working by our effort or even by God Himself, but it works automatically and spontaneously. Our main responsibility and task is to touch Him through the habit of praying unceasingly.

Praise the Lord for His mercy upon us! Amen.

Amen brother.

The Spirit is a living law, a living person known as the law of the Spirit of life.

We should let this automatic law function within us.

Being in touch with the Lord causes the automatic law of the Spirit of life to operate within us.

Only God can give life. Only God can cause the growth.

Only the automatic working law can kill the germs in us and resolve our problems.

Amen. With the Spirit of life, there is a living law, this living law is a living person, which is Christ himself dwelling in us.

So, for us to experience freedom from the law of sin and death, we need to come in touch with the Lord.

Amen, Lord may we touch you today. Thank you Lord by the Spirt of life we have been freed from sin and death. O Lord keep us experiencing you as our life today.

The law of the Spirit of life is the subject of this chapter. The Spirit and life are mentioned in this verse, but only in connection with the working of this law. Life is the content and issue of the Spirit, and the Spirit is the ultimate and consummate manifestation of the Triune God after His being processed through incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection and becoming the indwelling, life-giving Spirit, who is life to all the believers in Christ. The law that has freed us from the law of sin, which is of Satan, who dwells in the members of our fallen body (17, Rom. 7:23), is of this Spirit of life. It is this law, not God nor the Spirit, that works in us to deliver us from the working of the law of sin in our flesh and to enable us to know God and gain God and thereby live Him out. This law of the Spirit of life is the spontaneous power of the Spirit of life. Such a spontaneous law works automatically under the condition that fulfills its requirements (see note Rom. 8:42a).

Both Satan and God, after entering into our being and dwelling in us, work within us not by outward, objective activities but by an inward, subjective law. The working of the law of the Spirit of life is the working of the processed Triune God in our spirit; this is also the working of the Triune God in us in His life.

Rom. 8:2 footnote 1 on “law of the Spirit of life.”
