We need to Enjoy the Eternal Blessing of the Triune God and the Blessing of Life

In the entire universe the unique blessing is the Triune God, and this blessing comes to us through the dispensing of the Divine Being into us in His Divine Trinity - in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Witness LeeOur God is a God of blessing, and in Num. 6 we see the eternal blessing of the Triune God – the threefold blessing of Jehovah to His people, which the dispensing of the Triune God in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment.

It is quite astonishing to realize that our God is not merely our Creator, Redeemer, and life, but He is also a blessing God, and He blesses us because we are His people bearing His image and representing Him.

Right after God created man, He blessed him fully to be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it; God’s intention in creating man is to fill man with His life so that man would be His corporate expression and man would represent Him with His authority.

Whenever we have God’s expression and represent Him with His authority as the church, we enjoy His blessing. As believers in Christ, we can enjoy all the spiritual blessings that God has blessed us with in Christ Jesus.

Being blessed by God doesn’t necessarily mean that we have outward prosperity, health, and joy; being blessed by God means that we gain more of God, we are infused with God, we enjoy the dispensing of God, and God is working Himself into us for our enjoyment, with the result that we express Him and represent Him.

As believers in Christ we need to treasure and focus on the New Testament blessings, such as regeneration, the divine life and the divine nature, the indwelling Spirit, transformation, being one spirit with the Lord, and being like God and entering into His glory.

What a blessing it is to be regenerated, having the divine life and nature of God, and having the Spirit of God indwell us! What a blessing it is to be in the process of being transformed into the same image as the Lord and to be one spirit with the Lord all the time!

What a blessing it is that we will become like God and we will enter into His glory! We need to focus on these New Testament blessings, realizing that God has blessed us with all the spiritual blessings in Christ Jesus.

As we enjoy God’s spiritual blessings, we will experience the fullness of the blessing of Christ, and wherever we go, we will simply bring God’s blessing to that place and those people.

Enjoying the Eternal Blessing of the Triune God by being under the Divine Dispensing

Num. 6:24-26 Jehovah bless you and keep you; Jehovah make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; Jehovah lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. In Num. 6:23-27 God told the priests to bless His people and put His name on His people, saying, Jehovah bless you and keep you; Jehovah make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; Jehovah lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

This is a threefold blessing, which is not an Old Testament blessing nor merely a New Testament blessing but an eternal blessing – the eternal blessing of the Triune God on His people. Such a blessing is for us today and for all of God’s people throughout the ages.

This eternal blessing of the Triune God is the Triune God dispensing Himself in His Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment. It matches the blessing in 2 Cor. 13:14 where Paul says, The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The real blessing – the unique blessing – in the entire universe is the Triune God, and this blessing comes to us through the dispensing of the Divine Being into us in His Divine Trinity – in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:23-24).

The eternal blessing of the Triune God is threefold: “Jehovah bless you and keep you” can be ascribed to the Father – v. 24, “Jehovah make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you” can be ascribed to the Son – v. 25, and “Jehovah lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace” can be ascribed to the Holy Spirit – v. 26.

The eternal blessing of the Triune God is not heaven or a heavenly mansion; the eternal blessing is the Triune God mingled with His chosen, redeemed, regenerated, and transformed and glorified people.

The Father blesses us in every way in His love, and He keeps us in every aspect in His power. We need to pray for the blessing of being kept in the Triune God; we need to kept in the Triune GOd and in the dispensing of the Triune God.

The unique blessing in the whole universe is God Himself. Anything besides God is vanity. The entire universe was created by God, yet without God, apart from God, even the universe created by God is vanity. The existence of the universe is a great miracle, but without God the miraculous existence of the universe is vanity. Apart from God, everything is “vanity of vanities” (Eccl. 1:2). Only God Himself is real. Only He is the blessing to us. If we gained the entire universe yet missed God, we would be the most pitiful persons. History is filled with cases of people who gained many riches and many material things but who eventually realized that, without God, it was all vanity. God Himself is our blessing, and this blessing comes to us through the dispensing of the Divine Being into us in His Divine Trinity—in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Witness Lee, Life-study of Numbers, p. 78Christ, the Son, is the One who makes His face shine upon us and is gracious to us; God and His presence are invisible, but through incarnation, He became the shining sun, which is God’s invisible presence becoming visible.

Christ is the effulgence of God’s glory, the out-raying of God’s light, of God’s divine being. The Spirit is God’s countenance, giving us peace; countenance denotes the expression of the person. Jesus came as the face of God, expressing God, and the Holy Spirit comes as the countenance of God.

When the Triune God is dispensed into us, we have the face of the Triune God and also His countenance. The Father blesses us, the Son shines upon us, and the Holy Spirit lifts up His countenance upon us, and the result is that we are kept, we receive grace, and we have peace.

This is the eternal blessing of the Triune God, which God wants us to enjoy all the time; He wants us to enjoy the divine dispensing of the Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment and satisfaction.

Thank You Lord for the eternal blessing of the Triune God, the dispensing of the Divine Trinity into us for our enjoyment! Thank You Father for blessing us in every way in Your love and keeping us in every way in Your power. Thank You Lord Jesus for making Your face shine upon us, making the invisible God visible to us, and giving us grace – the Triune God for our enjoyment. Thank You Holy Spirit for being the expression of God’s face to give us peace. Lord, keep us enjoying the eternal blessing of the Triune God all the days of our life!

Practicing the Oneness as God’s People to Enjoy the Blessing of Life (Psa. 133)

Psa. 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell in unity! It is like the fine oil upon the head That ran down upon the beard, Upon Aaron's beard, That ran down upon the hem of his garments; Like the dew of Hermon That came down upon the mountains of Zion. For there Jehovah commanded the blessing: Life forever.Psalm 133 reveals the blessing of life; this blessing is intrinsically related to the oneness of God’s people. In order for us to have God’s blessing, the blessing of life, we need to practice the oneness as God’s people.

One of the biggest qualifications to receive God’s blessing, the blessing of life, is to keep the oneness, to practice the one accord among God’s people. The main hindrance to receiving God’s blessing is the lack of oneness and one accord.

In Psa. 133 we see that there are two aspects of the oneness: first the oneness is a person (Aaron, the high priest), and second it is a place (Zion, the mountains of Zion).

The church is both a person (Christ, the corporate Christ) and a place (the building of God in spirit); the oneness related to the person is “good” – like the precious ointment on the head of Aaron, and the oneness related to the place is pleasant – like the dew descending on the mountains of Zion.

Both in Psa. 133 and in Ezek. 34:26, the blessing is both related to a person and to a place.

The blessing of life – “there the Lord commands the blessing, life forever” (Psa. 133:3) refers to the eternal life of God (John 3:16; Eph. 4:18), which is commanded by God as a blessing to those who dwell together in oneness in the church life.

In order to experience the blessing of life, we must be in the church life.

[The blessing in Psalm 133:3 refers] to the eternal life of God (John 3:16; Eph. 4:18), which is commanded by God as a blessing to those who dwell together in oneness in the church life. Psalm 132 typifies the church life, in which God enters into His rest and we obtain satisfaction and rest in the habitation of God. Psalm 133 typifies the church living—the highest living, a living in which the brothers dwell together in oneness. Such a living causes God to come in to bless us with the anointing Spirit, the watering grace, and the eternal life. (Psa. 133:3, footnote 3)Psa. 132 typifies the church life, and Psa. 133 typifies the church living, which is the highest living, a living in which the brothers dwell together in oneness. Such a living of the brothers in oneness causes God to come in to bless us with the anointing Spirit, the watering grace, and the eternal life.

If we would be under the Lord’s commanded blessing of life (Psa. 133:3), we must be on the ground of oneness, practicing the one accord in the church life. The one accord is the master key to every blessing in the New Testament (Rom. 15:5-6, 29).

What brings in the blessing of life from God is our one accord. When in Acts there was a group on earth who prayed in the one accord, God’s blessing came in as the outpouring of the Spirit. The unique factor that causes God to bless us unconditionally is our one accord.

Our God is not narrow or exclusive, but He is definite; He is definite regarding His principle and His economy, and in Psa. 133 we see that He commands the blessing – life forever – when the brothers dwell together in oneness.

When the saints are in oneness, practicing the one accord, the oil flows, the dew descends, and God’s people enjoy life – the divine, eternal life of God.

Lord Jesus, we want to live in oneness and practice the one accord in the church life so that we may enjoy the blessing of life. May we treasure and desire to have Your blessing – both the eternal blessing of the Triune God and the blessing of life. May the church life today be in oneness and in the one accord. Save us from doing anything that would damage the oneness. Save us from not living the church life in the one accord. May we practice the one accord to use the master key to every blessing in the New Testament!

Psalm 133 also speaks of the ointment and the dew of Hermon. The ointment and the dew were not omnipresent. On the contrary, they were to be enjoyed only at a particular place. If an Israelite wanted to share in the Lord’s commanded blessing, he had to be in the place of oneness. This means that, at least three times a year, he had to make a journey to Mount Zion.

The principle applies today also. If we would be under the Lord’s commanded blessing of life, we must be on the ground of oneness….God is neither narrow nor exclusive, but He is definite. He is definite regarding His principle and His economy. God will never act contrary to His definiteness. Verse 3 of Psalm 133 is very definite. Here the psalmist says that there, upon the oneness, the Lord commands the blessing, life forever. In the oneness of brothers dwelling together the oil flows, the dew descends, and God’s people enjoy life. If we lose the oneness, we lose the experience of the fine oil, the dew, and the blessing of life. (Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1979, vol. 2, “The Genuine Ground of Oneness,” p. 248)
