Eat Christ as the Hidden Manna to Overcome the World to Become the building of God

For everything that has been begotten of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory which has overcome the world - our faith. 1 John 5:4

By living in our spirit and eating Christ as the hidden manna, we can overcome the world to become the building of God consummating in the New Jerusalem. Amen!

As believers in Christ, we have been regenerated with the divine, eternal, incorruptible life of God, and today we need to live by this divine life.

We have a different life in us; besides our natural human life, we also have the divine life.

And we need to grow in life unto maturity and be built up in this life with our fellow brothers and sisters for and in the building of God.

As we live in the world today, one of our greatest needs is to be in the word of God; the world defiles us, corrupts our way of thinking and of living, and infuses the element of Satan into us.

But the word of God contains the element of God and, as we come to the Lord in His word, we are sanctified and made holy.

We are becoming the holy city of God, the city that is fully constituted with the element of God to be as holy as God is holy.

Right now, however, we are not that holy; we are in the process of being sanctified, and we need to remain in this process day by day.

If we are faithful to be in the pure word of God, saying Amen to the Lord’s speaking in His word, we will love the Lord more, the element of the world will be removed from us, and we will be sanctified to be part of the holy city of God.

When we are around other people and they speak concerning this or that, we have an inner feeling about whether we should remain there to be part of their conversation or whether we should leave.

Our spirit gives us a sense concerning things other people say, conversations that others try to engage us in, and situations that we may get ourselves into.

And our spirit is fed, strengthened, and made more real to us by the holy word of God. Amen!

The way that we can keep our way pure is by guarding it according to God’s word (Psa. 119:9).

We should not rely on our own understanding, our view of the world, and our background and knowledge when we live our daily life; rather, we should simply come to the Lord in His word and be sanctified, and we should daily allow the Lord’s word to speak to us and regulate us from within.

If we remain open to the Lord in His word and we actively place ourselves under the hearing of the faith, something wonderful will happen in our being: we will be purified, sanctified, and separated, and the Lord will have a way to be expressed through us.

Amen, may we remain open to the Lord and abide in His word, allowing His words to abide in us, speak to us, and regulate our daily living from within!

May we say Amen to the Lord’s living word and apply this word by faith and prayer so that it may become the applied word in our daily living!

Seeing the Idolatrous World with the Wickedness of Commerce and living a Life without the Love of Money

Let your way of life be without the love of money, being satisfied with the things which are at hand; for He Himself has said, "I shall by no means give you up, neither by any means shall I abandon you". Heb. 13:5

Zechariah was a prophet that lived at the same time as Ezra, Haggai, and Nehemiah, and his prophecy was given at the same time that Ezra carried out his ministry, Haggai prophesied, and Nehemiah exercised his proper and adequate leadership.

Haggai mainly spoke to expose the situation in God’s people and encourage them to return to the work of building the house of God, but Zechariah spoke concerning many other things.

One prophecy that Zechariah spoke in Zech. 5:5-11 is regarding the ephah vessel, a type of commerce and business and trade in the world today.

He lifted his eyes and saw the ephah vessel (a unit of measuring grain), and the lead cover was lifted up, and there was a woman sitting within it; her name was Wickedness.

And there was a lead weight put over its opening, then two women went forth, the wind was in their wings (which were like the wings of a stork), and they took the ephah vessel to the land of Shinar to stay there.

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, not lovers of good, Traitors, reckless, blinded with pride, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. 2 Tim. 3:2-4 For the love of money is a root of all evils, because of which some, aspiring after money, have been led away from the faith and pierced themselves through with many pains. 1 Tim. 6:10The ephah vessel is a measuring vessel, a container able to hold one ephah; it was used for purchasing and selling in business.

However, as revealed in this vision, it signifies the wickedness of business or commerce on earth.

Today a large percentage of the world’s population is engaged in business or commerce; whether working for a large corporation that sells and buys things or having your own business, everyone sells and buys.

The appearance of business is not that bad, but actually, it is totally wicked within.

The seller loves money and tries to get more money out of the buyer’s pocket, and the buyer also loves money and tries to obtain the things he wants at a lower price, thus saving money.

Business is an adulterous woman desirous of making money.

However, the Lord is restricting commerce today, otherwise wickedness will be unrestrained. If commerce, especially international trade, could be restricted, the whole earth would be holy.

In this vision, the Lord sends the wickedness of commerce and business back to the land of Shinar, Babylon, where it belongs.

The vision here corresponds to that of Babylon the Great in Rev. 18, revealing that in the sight of God, the wickedness contained in commerce is a form of idolatry.

The wickedness contained in business is covetousness, deceit, and the love of mammon.

In Timothy, the Lord spoke through Paul warning about the love of money, a root of all evil.

We may think that we don’t love money, especially since we don’t have or earn that much money; however, deep in our being, we all love money.

Sometimes we feel we lack money or that we don’t have enough money, and we may feel that money is flying away.

As Haggai says, we may put money into pockets with holes, and the Lord stirs things in the environment to just spend the things that we have saved.

Then there’s anxiety; we become anxious because we don’t have enough money to buy this or to go there.

We need to be fully separated from the idolatrous world of Babylon, which is characterized by the wickedness of business, or commerce, involving covetousness, deceit, and the love of money; our Christian life should be without the love of money, and our Christian work should not be a money-making trade (Zech. 5:5-11; 1 Tim. 3:3, 8; 6:5-10; Acts 11:29-30; 20:33-34; 2 Tim. 3:2-4; Heb. 13:5; 2 Cor. 2:17; 12:15; cf. 2 Kings 5:15-27).

Our Christian life needs to be without the love of money.

But what things were gains to me, these I have counted as loss on account of Christ. But moreover I also count all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as refuse that I may gain Christ. Phil. 3:7-8 I have coveted no one's silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my needs and to those who are with me. Acts 20:33-34Our Christian work should not be a money-making trade. Satan is a businessman, a merchant; his thought is always according to his commercial principle, which is versus God’s purpose in creating man (Ezek. 28:16, 18; Job 1:9; cf. Phil. 3:7-8; Gen. 1:26).

Of the cargo sold by Babylon, the first item is gold and the last is the souls of men; souls of men refers to men who sell themselves for employment (Rev. 18:12-13; cf. 2 Pet. 2:3, 15).

We may start a job with the good intention of working to support ourselves and our family, and we may desire to know and learn and improve; what our job ends up being is something that consumes our time, our energy, and our whole being.

We may take care of many legitimate matters, but this consumes our time, and we don’t have time for the Lord and for the church life.

In today’s world people sell their soul, their life, that is, themselves, to their occupation, neglecting God and their eternal destiny (Luke 12:13-21).

It’s not only the CEOs and the CFOs that do this, but many of us may do this also; we need to be fully separated from the idolatrous world of Babylon with the wickedness of business and commerce.

May we be before the Lord concerning this matter so that He would shine and expose our love of money, and may we give ourselves to Him to be delivered from the love of money and commerce so that we may be separated and sanctified unto Him for His building!

Lord Jesus, shine on us and expose our love of money and of business. We want to be fully separated from the idolatrous world of Babylon. We want to be lovers of God, not lovers of self, of money, or of the world. We choose to love You, Lord. May our Christian life be a life without the love of money. May our Christian work not be a money-making trade but a work in spirit for the Lord to gain all the glory! Amen, Lord, we are here on earth for You. We give You our job, our business, and the things we do to support ourselves and our family. We refuse to be usurped by the god of this age. We refuse to sell our soul to the enemy for money. We are here for Christ and the church. We want to live Christ and enjoy Christ, and we want to live the church life and enjoy Christ with all the saints!

By Living in our Spirit and eating Christ as the Hidden Manna we Overcome the World to become God’s Building

We know that everyone who is begotten of God does not sin, but he who has been begotten of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the evil one. 1 John 5:18-19 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give of the hidden manna, and to him I will give a white stone, and upon the stone a new name written, which no one knows except him who receives it. Rev. 2:17How can we overcome the world to become the building of God?

The whole world is going the way of being enslaved to money, commerce, trade, and business, but we can overcome the world simply by living in our mingled spirit and by eating Christ as the hidden manna.

The Lord is our supply inwardly for us to enjoy, partake of, and live by. He does not require that we do this or that for Him; He simply comes to us to be enjoyed by us.

He is the open manna for His people to eat and live by in their daily living.

Also, the Lord is a special portion of supply reserved for His overcoming seekers for them to enjoy so that they overcome the world and become the building of God (Rev. 2:17).

Manna is a type of Christ as the heavenly food that supplies the people of God and enable them to go His way.

A portion of the open manna was collected and put in the golden pot to be preserved and concealed in the Ark (Exo. 16:32-34; Heb. 9:4).

On one hand, we need to daily enjoy the Lord in His word, for He is the open manna ready for us collect, prepare, and eat every morning.

We need to eat Christ in the word of God, exercising our spirit to partake of His riches so that we may be inwardly supplied and live the Christian life.

On the other hand, however, Christ is a special portion reserved for His overcoming seekers, those who overcome the degradation of the worldly church.

As the church goes the way of the world and so many believers live, behave, work, and do things as the world to, being married to the world, the Lord is calling for the overcomers.

He is calling for those who live in their spirit and eat Christ as the hidden manna to overcome the world to become the building of God.

May we hear what the Spirit is speaking to the churches and choose to be the Lord’s overcomers.

To those who overcome the world and the worldliness in the church, the Lord will give of the hidden manna, and to him, He will give a white stone, and upon the stone, a name is written, which no one knows except him who receives it.

The church in general may go the way of the world, but the overcomers come forward to abide in the Lord’s presence in the Holy of Holies.

Here, in the presence of God in their spirit, they enjoy the hidden Christ as a special portion for their daily supply.

This promise of the hidden manna is being fulfilled today in the proper church life and will be fulfilled in full in the coming kingdom.

As those who love the Lord and the church, we need to seek the Lord and overcome the degradation of the worldly church.

Manna is a type of Christ as the heavenly food that enables God’s people to go His way. A portion of manna was preserved in a golden pot concealed in the Ark (Exo. 16:32-34; Heb. 9:4). The open manna was for the Lord’s people to enjoy in a public way; the hidden manna, signifying the hidden Christ, is a special portion reserved for His overcoming seekers, who overcome the degradation of the worldly church. While the church goes the way of the world, these overcomers come forward to abide in the presence of God in the Holy of Holies, where they enjoy the hidden Christ as a special portion for their daily supply. This promise is being fulfilled today in the proper church life and will be fulfilled in full in the coming kingdom. If we seek the Lord, overcome the degradation of the worldly church, and enjoy a special portion of the Lord today, He as the hidden manna will be a reward to us in the coming kingdom. If we miss Him as our special portion today in the church life, we will surely lose the enjoyment of Him as a reward in the coming kingdom. Rev. 2:17, footnote 2, Recovery Version BibleAnd we do this by enjoying a special portion of the Lord today, the hidden manna.

If we enjoy Christ as the hidden manna today, the special portion that is hidden and before God for our overcoming the world, we will be rewarded by Him with the hidden manna in the coming kingdom.

But if we miss the Lord as our special portion today in the church life, we will surely lose the enjoyment of Him as a reward in the coming kingdom.

We have been begotten of God, and our spirit overcomes the world, for our spirit is joined to the Lord in faith (1 John 5:4).

Our spirit cannot sin. Our spirit keeps itself, and the evil one does not touch it (1 John 5:18); we need to live in our spirit today so that the world would not touch us and so that we overcome the world.

We know that we’re of God and that the whole world lies in the evil one (v. 19).

May we remain in our mingled spirit today, and may we partake of Christ as the hidden manna so that we may overcome the world to become God’s building today.

May we take heed to our spirit and eat Christ as the hidden manna to overcome the world.

May we treasure our time with the Lord, for it is in our intimate, personal, private contact with Him that we can gain something of Him and we can eat the hidden manna.

Lord Jesus, we want to take heed to our spirit and live in the mingled spirit to overcome the world and become God’s building. Hallelujah, our spirit has been begotten of God, and our spirit overcomes the world! We choose to turn to our spirit and remain in our spirit, taking heed to our spirit and paying attention to the feeling in our spirit. Lord, we come to You in spirit to eat You, partake of You, and enjoy You as the hidden manna. We come forward to abide in the presence of God in the Holy of Holies to enjoy the hidden Christ as a special portion for our daily supply. Amen, Lord, grant us to enjoy a special portion of Christ today so that we may overcome the world to become the building of God. May we not miss the special portion of Christ today in spirit so that we would not lose the enjoyment of Christ as a reward in the coming kingdom!

“Then the angel who spoke with me…said, This is the ephah vessel that goes forth; and he said, This is their appearance in all the land” (vv. 5-6). A large percentage of the world’s population is engaged in business or commerce. The appearance of business is not that bad; rather, in all the land commerce seems to have a proper appearance. But as we will see, actually today’s commerce is totally wicked. [Verses 7b and 8a] reveal that the woman sitting within the ephah vessel signifies the wickedness contained in commerce, such as covetousness, deceit, and the love of mammon. The seller loves money and tries to get money out of the buyer’s pocket; the buyer also loves money and tries to obtain the things he wants at a low price, thereby saving money. The vision in Zechariah 5 corresponds to that of Babylon the Great in Revelation 18. These visions show us that in the sight of God the wickedness contained in commerce is a kind of idolatry and fornication. Business is an adulterous woman desirous of making money.

In Zechariah 5:7 and 8 we see that a lead cover, a lead weight, is thrownover the opening of the ephah vessel. This signifies the restriction of the wickedness in commerce by God’s sovereignty…If commerce, especially international trade, could be restricted, the whole earth would be holy. The one woman becoming two women [v. 9a] signifies the double effect of commerce once it becomes free of the restriction. The two women had wings like the wings of a stork, and the wind was in their wings. They lifted up the ephah vessel between the earth and the heavens (v. 9b). All of this signifies the rapid spreading of the wicked commerce. “I said to the angel who spoke with me, Where are they taking the ephah vessel? And he said to me, To build a house for her in the land of Shinar; and when it is prepared, she will be set there in her own place” (vv. 10-11). This signifies that God’s sovereignty will cause the wickedness in business, which the people of Israel learned of the Babylonians in their captivity, to go back to Babylon (the land of Shinar). Let this wickedness return to Babylon. All the people among God’s elect should be honest and simple in their living.

We need to see that to sell our souls to our occupation and to neglect God is to sell our soul to business and commerce which is today’s Babylon and is wickedness in God’s sight.

Instead, to overcome this age we must be those who enjoy the hidden Christ as the hidden manna as our daily supply to live the proper church life and to receive the reward in the Kingdom age.

O Lord Jesus! We are not satisfied with an open, public display of our enjoyment of You but we want to come forward to enyoy You daily as such a portion to overcome as the church goes the way of the world! Amen! O Lord You are our special portion. May we enjoy You more for Your building!

Today we see something of the day-to-day living of proper leaders who can be useful to the Lord.

These ones enjoy Christ not only in a public way, but also have a hidden enjoyment of Christ for their daily supply.

They seek after the Lord as a deer pants for water (the Spirit).

They set their face to turn away from the degradation of the worldly church.

And in their living they are honest & simple, seeking after win-win situations rather than wishing to take advantage.

May we all put away the wickedness of Babylon and return to enjoying & experiencing Jesus as our good land.

Amen! Let us come boldly before the throne of grace to find timely help.
