Coming out of our Emotions, Touching God’s Throne, and Knowing God’s Eternal Being

You, O Jehovah, abide forever; Your throne is from generation to generation. Lam. 5:19

In the human realm events take place, changes happen, and unpleasant things take place due to the environments and circumstances, but God’s righteousness, God’s eternal being and unchanging government, never change and always stand forever.

Hallelujah, even though we may change, even though our heart deceives us and is not faithful to God, and even though we clearly see the desolation of God’s people around us, God’s eternal being and His unchanging government stand forever!

We have seen that our God is Jehovah of hosts – He commands all the armies of heaven, He is the Mighty One, the Lord of all the heavenly host, the Commander of all the host.

He can do everything and He commands everything. However, we as His people can hinder Him or delay Him from doing what is in His heart to do; when we don’t pray in oneness with Him, when we do not release on earth what His will is in the heaven, and when we are not desperate for His will and economy to be carried out, He is delayed and hindered.

But praise the Lord for an example such as Hannah in 1 Samuel, who not only was barren and could not have children so therefore she prayed, but she touched something of God’s heart, something of what He desires to do and what He needs, and she uttered the prayer that was answered by the Lord.

In the midst of the desolation and degradation of the people of Israel, even though the priests themselves were corrupt and immoral, Hannah prayed for God’s need and called on Jehovah of hosts, and the Lord answered her prayer.

The Mighty One, the Lord of all the heavenly hosts, He rules over all things; no matter how great the need is, no matter how great the army of enemies surrounding us is, and no matter how difficult and distressing our situation is, we need to realize that our God is the Commander in chief of all the heavenly armies, and He is in control!

So we need to open to Him, open our gates to Him, and lift up any obstacles before Him so that He may come into us, make His home in us, rule in us, and be expressed as the King of glory, Jehovah of hosts!

If He has a way through and in the church, if He is enthroned in the church and expressed through the church, He can bring in His kingdom on earth through the church.

Jeremiah knew God as Jehovah of hosts, the Lord of all the armies, but praise the Lord, we in the New Testament are blessed to be under the New Testament revelation and know the victorious and coming Christ, the consummation of Jehovah of hosts!

Christ the Savior was born, lived on earth, died and resurrected, and He was ascended to be King of kings and Lord of lords.

Soon He will return – His parousia (His presence) will begin the last three and a half years of this age, the consummation of this age, and the Lord will descend with His armies at the end of the great tribulation to deal with His enemies, abolish human government, and manifest the kingdom of God!

Amen, and the One who is coming is the Lord of hosts, the King of glory – and we are the many hosts that return with Him! Hallelujah!

Having a Change in our Position and Angle from ourselves to God and Realizing that God is Eternal and there’s No change in Him

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. Psa. 45:6 Your throne is established from of old; You are from eternity. Psa. 93:2The book of Lamentations is the most sorrowful book in the Bible; it was written by the weeping prophet who was probably sitting on the mountain looking at the devastated city.

He knew that God had to do this, he prophesied about it, but he wept and grieved; lamentations are a series of laments, prayers of sorrow seeking comfort.

Jeremiah was a man of God, yet he was also human; he lamented over the tribulation and devastation of the children of Israel, and then after his fifth lamentation (Lam. 5:19-22) he turned to Jehovah.

He said, You, O Jehovah, abide forever; Your throne is from generation to generation.

There was a breakthrough in him at the end of ch. 5, and he was able to rise above his feelings, sufferings, and perspective; he realized that Jehovah abides for ever, and His throne is from generation to generation.

In Lam. 5:19 Jeremiah changed his position and angle from himself to God, and he referred to God’s eternal being and unchanging government.

We all will have experiences like this, when we’re in exceedingly sorrowful situations, in heart-breaking environments, and everywhere is pain and loss; in our human feelings we are full of sorrow, pain, grief, and being perplexed concerning what’s going on.

But at one point we will have a breakthrough, and we will realize that God is still God – He is the eternal unchanging God, and His throne is from eternity to eternity!

We may not understand what is going on but this we know: God is, He is unchanging, and we vindicate Him, we vindicate His righteousness, even though we shed tears.

We may not understand our situation personally or corporately, but God is the eternal God, and His throne is everlasting; His throne rules, no matter what we see happening outwardly.

In Jeremiah’s time, Jerusalem was overthrown, the temple was burned down, and God’s people were carried away, but Jehovah, the Lord of the universe, He still remains to exercise His administration, for He is the eternal God that never changes. Hallelujah!

God is eternal and with Him there is no change; He remains immutable, and He is not subject to any change due to our circumstances, our heart, our condition, or our environment (Psa. 90:2; Rom. 16:25-26).

In our human situation, in the human realm, there are many changes taking place every day; however, with God’s eternal being there is no change – He remains forever the same!

Even in the deepest sorrow, when we have so much pain and tribulation, may the Lord have a way to have a breakthrough in us, so that we may know Him as the eternal God, the never-changing God.

Jeremiah had such a breakthrough: he prophesied that after seventy years of captivity a remnant will return, for God will bring them back; so he purchased a piece of land (as Jehovah instructed) as an indicator that he will return.

Although Jeremiah was very human, he was also a man of God. He knew that the problems of the children of Israel could not be solved by merely being human. Therefore, at the end of the fifth lamentation, in Lamentations 5:19 through 22, he turned to Jehovah….The phrase You, O Jehovah, abide forever [v. 19] refers to God’s eternal being, and it indicates that there is no change with Him. In the human realm, changes take place in every way. In particular, many things changed in the situation of the children of Israel. But there was no change with God’s eternal being. He remains forever the same. Witness Lee, Life-study of Lamentations, pp. 13-15Then he spoke of the new covenant, that all God’s people will know Him inwardly.

Outwardly his situation was of profound grief and he poured out his sorrow; yet he testified, You, Jehovah, abide forever!

In Gen. 21:33 Abraham called on the name of Jehovah, the Eternal One; this divine title, El Olam implies eternal life (cf. John 1:1, 4). El means “the Mighty One”, and Olam means, “eternal” or “eternity”, coming from a Hebrew root meaning “to conceal” or “to hide”.

Abraham experienced God as the ever-living, secret, mysterious One, who is the eternal life.

This needs to be, it can be, and it will be our experience also: when we call on the Lord, we’re calling on the One who is I AM, the Lord of the universe, the One who has all authority in heaven and on earth!

Our God is eternal and ever-living, yet He does many things in secret; so many things that He does are mysterious, not made known to us in a way that our mind can grasp.

As we go through things, as we suffer, as we experience such pain and sorrow, we need to touch the eternal God, know Him as the ever-living One, and receive more of the eternal life!

Lord, break through in us; cause us to know You as the One who abides forever, the eternal God, the God whose eternal being and government never change! May we have a change in our position and angle from ourselves to God so that we may see who God is, what He is doing, and what He is to us. Save us from merely focusing on our situation, our sorrow, our pain, and our grief; may we lift up our eyes and see, know, and experience God as the eternal One. May we realize that our God is the Lord of the universe, and He remains to exercise His administration! Hallelujah, Our God abides forever – He is eternal and there’s no change in Him, for He is not subject to any change due to any environments and circumstances! We trust in You, eternal God!

Coming out of our Emotions, Touching God’s Throne, and Knowing God’s Eternal Being and Unchanging Government

Immediately I was in spirit; and behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and upon the throne there was One sitting; and He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance, and there was a rainbow around the throne like an emerald in appearance. Rev. 4:2-3Jehovah abides forever, and His throne is from generation to generation; before we were born, God was there, and long after we are gone, He still is, and His government is unchanging!

This phrase, “from generation to generation” refers to God’s eternal and unchanging government (Lam. 5:19; Psa. 45:6; 93:2; Rev. 4:2-3).

This matter of God’s government must penetrate us and become a reality to us; the throne of God signifies His government.

The throne of God has no beginning nor end; His throne exists from generation to generation.

Jeremiah was a weeping prophet with many deep feelings and sentiments concerning the people of God, their condition, and the judgement God brought upon them.

In his lamenting over the people of Israel with their failures and desolation, his writing became divine when he spoke concerning God’s eternal being and unchanging government.

May the Lord shine His light on thee verses so that we also may know God in His eternal being and His unchanging government.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne (Psa. 89:14); our God is absolutely righteous, and all that He does is righteous, based on His righteousness.

What He does is righteous, and what He does not do is also righteous.

Jeremiah realized this and, in writing concerning God’s eternal being and unchanging government, he gives an indication that he touched God’s throne and His economy; this was not a theory to him – he touched God in His economy.

When we come out of our human feelings, no matter how deep the sorrow and how painful the situation, we will touch God’s person and His throne, and we will enter into His divinity.

May the Lord shepherd us out of our human feelings to touch God’s person and His throne, so that we may clearly see and realize that God is on the throne, He is the eternal God, and He cannot and will not change.

We need to be lifted out of our feelings; we can’t do this in ourselves, but praise the Lord, Christ as the Shepherd of our souls is able to bring us out of the pain and sorrow and confusion we are in so that we may touch Him and His throne.

Therefore receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may serve God dwell-pleasingly with piety and fear. Heb. 12:28We may pray with others concerning something that is on God’s heart, and as we do this, we touch the throne of God; this becomes a reality to us.

In Heb. 12:28 Paul quotes the prophet Haggai saying that everything will be shaken – the heavens, the earth, and all things.

We may look around us and realize that there is some shaking going on, but we need to realize that we have an unshakable kingdom and unshakable God, and He will make us is unshakable people!

Amen, no matter what we go through, no matter how much we suffer in our soul, we will touch the unshakable One, and His unshakable element will be wrought into our being to be part of our constitution!

In the New Jerusalem God will be fully unveiled in His person as the eternal King and in His government as His eternal, unshakable kingdom, both of which are the unshakable foundation of His dealing with His people (Rev. 22:3). Hallelujah!

All that needs to be shaken, will be shaken, but we have an unshakable kingdom, and our eternal God is making us His unshakable people! Praise the Lord!

Lord, shepherd us out of our human feelings and cause us to touch God’s person and God’s throne! May we be lifted out of our feelings, sentiments, and emotions, and may we be brought into another realm where we can touch God and His throne! Hallelujah, we have received an unshakable kingdom, and our eternal God is unshakable; He is working into us an unshakable element so that we may be unshakable in the midst of all situations! Praise the Lord, righteousness and justice are the foundation of God’s throne, and His throne is eternal! Amen, Lord, bring us into the experience of this matter in our Christian life and church life!
