Christ will Return and Regain the Earth for His Kingdom: Lord, Your Kingdom Come!

The earth is Jehovah's, and its fullness, / The habitable land and those who dwell in it. Psa. 24:1

At His second coming, Christ will take possession of the earth and will establish God’s kingdom on the whole earth, thus recovering God’s right over the earth; today we want to cooperate with Him by being His overcomers so that, when He returns, we return with Him. Amen!

Yes, the earth is the Lord’s with all things in it, but in reality, though He is the Possessor of the earth, He is not welcome or listened to on earth.

At His first coming, Christ did not come to solve all the problems in the universe; He came to solve some of the problems, and at His second coming He will regain the earth.

If we look around us, what we see is truth being trampled underfoot, lawlessness prevailing, immorality being the norm of the day, and evil people doing what they want to do.

Even more, in the church as a whole, there is degradation and decline to the point that the church seems to be married to the world.

If we would go even deeper, not just in the world or in Christianity as a whole but even in our own personal Christian life and church life, we may not be under the Lord’s rule but rather, we may still be the ones who decides things, does things, speaks things, and goes places, without checking with the Lord.

The Lord Jesus wants to come in and gain the earth, and He has sown Himself as the seed in our heart; He sowed Himself as the seed of the kingdom in our heart, and He grows in us to be enlarged in us as a realm, the kingdom of God, for Him to rule and reign. Amen!

Truth should triumph and be king, and freedom should be queen; however, what we see today is that falsehood is rampant running and the enemy is the head of this world.

We ask the Lord as the truth to quickly come and bring His light from heaven, so that the foe may be crushed and all the sons would be brought into glory and reign with Christ.

We are looking for that day when truth truly will be king and freedom will be queen.

On that day, in the day of the Lord’s return and then in the millennial kingdom, He will reign with His co-kings, the overcomers, over all the earth!

Today the devil is the one who usurps everyone and everything in the world, and even we ourselves are under his usurpation much of the time, even without noticing it.

But we were created in the image of God and according to His likeness, and through He gave us His life and nature so that we may rule and reign with Him.

He wants us to rule as kings in life today so that, when He returns, we would continue to rule with Him as co-kings with Christ in the millennial kingdom.

Cooperating with God for Him to Regain the Earth for His Kingdom: Lord, Your Kingdom Come!

And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them; and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over every living thing that moves upon the earth. Gen. 1:26-28Even before God created man, Lucifer rebelled and became Satan, the devil, the enemy of God. Satan was followed by one-third of the angels, and they are now in direct rebellion and opposition to God; they formed a kingdom where Satan is king.

Satan and his kingdom have corrupted the earth; the beautiful earth created by God became corrupt, empty, and void.

So God came in to recreate and recover the creation; on the sixth day, He created man in His image and according to His likeness, and He gave man His authority to have dominion over all things (Gen. 1:26-28).

God blessed man that man would be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and have dominion over everything, from the fish of the sea to every creeping thing that creeps upon the face of the earth.

We are created in the image of God and, as believers in Christ, we have His life and nature so that we may express Him and represent Him.

We were given God’s dominion to recover the earth from Satan’s usurpation and bring it back under God’s control in His kingdom.

The Lord Jesus came to the earth for the first time two thousand years ago, but we still don’t see the earth recovered under God’s rule. Satan is still rampant, still very active.

Actually, these last few years the enemy is even more intense in his work, and lies, falsehood, corruption, and immorality all prevail on earth.

All genuine seekers of the Lord are wondering how long will this last; how long will the Lord still allow the enemy to do before He returns and the kingdom of the world becomes the kingdom of God and of His Christ?

Especially as we read the books of 1 and 2 Kings, we may be quite disappointed to see how much the enemy has corrupted both the people of Israel and of Judah and its kings.

We need to look beyond the failures of the people of God and focus on God’s kingdom. He wants to bring in His kingdom.

We can cooperate with God to regain the earth for His kingdom.

He wants to raise some up to be kings reigning in the divine life, those who are perfected, raised up, and enthroned to be kings to rule and reign with Him over anything of the enemy and his kingdom.

What is at stake today is the kingdom of God. We pray, Lord, Your kingdom come (Matt. 6:10)!

Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, [so] also on earth. Matt. 6:10 And in the days of those kings the God of the heavens will raise up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and its reign will not be left to another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms; and it will stand forever. Dan. 2:44Every day this is our prayer. His kingdom would come in us and through us.

We open to the Lord for Him to perfect us, train us, and take us on with Him to the extent that we are in His kingdom in full, and He has a realm in our being in which He can rule and reign as His kingdom.

May we turn our eyes to the kingdom of God, realizing that we’re here for this, the kingdom of God.

We want to cooperate with the Lord’s ultimate move on earth so that He may regain the earth, so we pray that His kingdom would come and His will be done.

On one hand, the earth with all its fulness is the Lord’s; on the other hand, Satan is still here usurping both the earth and everything and everyone on it, so we stand with Him on earth.

The earth does not belong to Satan. Satan is a robber, a stealer, and a usurper; he took possession of the earth and the things on it illegally.

Yes, he is rampant today, but the earth doesn’t belong to him. God needs to have His kingdom in order to regain this earth and establish His right.

May we pray to Him along this line, telling Him,

Lord Jesus, may Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven! May Your kingdom come and Your will be done. We enthrone You in our being. Make Your home in all our heart and take possession of every part of our inner being. We want to cooperate with You to regain the earth: may Your kingdom come in us. Oh Lord, You are the rightful possessor of the earth. You are the Ruler and the King. We enthrone You and we give You the preeminence. Perfect us, Lord, and cause us to be those who reign in life as kings so that we may cooperate with You to bring in Your kingdom. Amen, may Your kingdom come. Bring in Your kingdom, Lord, and regain the earth. Establish Your right over the earth.

At His Second Coming, Christ will Take Possession of the Earth and will Establish God’s Kingdom here

Lift up your heads, O gates; / And be lifted up, O long enduring doors; / And the King of glory will come in. Who is the King of glory? / Jehovah strong and mighty! / Jehovah mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates; / And lift up, O long enduring doors; / And the King of glory will come in. Who is this King of glory? / Jehovah of hosts--/ He is the King of glory! Selah. Psa. 24:7-10Psa. 24 shows us that, at His second coming, Christ will take possession of the earth, which has been given to Him as His possession, and He will establish God’s kingdom on the whole earth, thus recovering God’s right over the earth.

In Psa. 22 we see Christ as the Redeemer and the Regenerator, in Psa. 23 He is the Shepherd, and in Psa. 24 He is the King who will regain the entire earth through the church, His Body!

Hallelujah, we as the believers in Christ have been redeemed and regenerated, and we are under His shepherding; He is making us His church, His Body, and through us, He will regain the earth.

At His second coming, Christ will take possession of the earth (Rev. 10:1-2), which has been given to Him as His possession (Psa. 2:8), and He will establish the kingdom of God on the whole earth (Dan. 2:34-35; Rev. 11:15).

If you read Psa. 24 you will see how Christ is the King in God’s kingdom; this refers to the coming age.

In vv. 1-2 we have the realization of the earth and the fulness thereof, the habitable land and those who dwell in it, founded by God upon the seas and established by Him upon the streams, are God’s kingdom. Hallelujah!

Verses 7-10 show us the victorious Christ who comes as the King in God’s kingdom.

As we are waiting for the Lord to return, we may drop our heads because of being weary and tired; however, we are told to lift up our heads, because the King of Glory will come in (Psa. 24:7, 9; Luke 21:27; Matt. 25:31).

Christ is the desire of all the nations (Hag. 2:7), and all the nations – in a general way – are expecting Christ to come; however, He will not come that quickly according to our human concept.

Yes, Revelation tells us that the Lord Jesus will come back quickly, but at the same time, He is still not here.

So we need to lift up our heads and be encouraged, for at His second coming, Christ will take possession of the earth – He will regain the earth for the kingdom of God.

Who is this King of glory? He’s Jehovah strong and mighty; He is Jehovah mighty in battle. Jehovah is Jesus, and Jesus is the incarnated, crucified, and resurrected Triune God, who is strong in fighting and is victorious (Rev. 5:5).

Selah. Psa. 24:7-10He is the victorious Lion-Lamb; He is the One who is worthy to open the scroll of God’s economy. He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, and He has overcome.

We should not lose heart nor be weary; we should rather lift up our heads, though we are weak and weary, and become stronger, for the Lord will soon return.

On one hand, He is shepherding us today, and on the other hand, He will return as the King to regain the earth for His kingdom! He is the King of glory; He is Jehovah of hosts, the consummated Triune God embodied in the victorious and coming Christ.

Christ is the One who will come back in His resurrection with His overcomers to possess the earth as His kingdom (Dan. 2:34-35; 7:13-14; Joel 3:11; Rev. 11:15; 19:13-14).

Wow, those who overcome will return with this victorious King to regain the earth for God’s kingdom!

Daniel saw it in Dan. 2: a stone cut without hand will come to strike the great human image. Christ will come as this stone cut without hands, and He will not come alone – He will come with His overcomers!

And that stone, that smiting stone, will increase to fill the whole earth with the kingdom of God.

Jesus Christ with His overcomers will return to smash and destroy human government and anything that Satan has built up in his kingdom, and He will regain the earth and fill it with the kingdom of God. Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord, Christ will soon return to take possession of the earth and fill it with the kingdom of God! Hallelujah, the Lord Jesus will return with His overcomers as a stone cut without hands to smash and destroy the great human image, the totality of the human government, and He will regain the earth and bring in the kingdom of God! Amen, Lord, we believe in Your word and we lift up our heads, for Your promise strengthens us and we are filled with hope and with joy! Hallelujah, Christ will return in His resurrection with His overcomers to possess the earth as His kingdom! Soon the kingdom of the world will be the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever! Amen, Lord, Your kingdom come and Your will be done!

We have to lift up our heads, because the King of glory will come in (Psa. 24:7, 9; Luke 21:27; Matt. 25:31). We must get ready to welcome Him. Psalm 24:8 asks, “Who is the King of glory?” The King of glory is “Jehovah strong and mighty! / Jehovah mighty in battle!” Jehovah is Jesus, and Jesus is the embodiment of the Triune God in resurrection. He is the One who is strong in fighting and victorious. Verse 9 says, “Lift up your heads, O gates; / And lift up, O long enduring doors; / And the King of glory will come in.” Verse 7 says, “Be lifted up”… To be lifted up means that we are still weak, needing someone to move us. But to lift up [in verse 9] means we have become stronger. We can act to lift up ourselves. Psalm 23 reveals Christ as the Shepherd in His resurrection, and… Psalm 24 reveals Christ as the King in God’s kingdom. Hallelujah for the shepherding Christ, and Hallelujah for the reigning Christ! Hallelujah for our Christ being our Shepherd today and our King in the future! Life-study of the Psalms, pp. 148-150, by Witness Lee

We need to wait and expect with long endurance the coming of our Christ, when it will be fully revealed who we are in reality.

The King of glory will come and we must get ourselves ready to welcome Him, taking the initiative to lift ourselves up.
