Christ is the Seed of David and the Son of God for our Experience and Enjoyment

That God has fully fulfilled this [promise] to us their children in raising up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son; this day have I begotten You. Acts 13:33

In Acts 13 we see that God, according to promise, raised Jesus from the dead and He became the Son of God; through His resurrection Christ became the firstborn Son of God, and we are the many sons of God having Him as the Son of God and the Seed of David dispensed into us. Hallelujah!

This week in our morning revival, we start a new book, the continuation of the series, Experiencing, Enjoying, and Expressing Christ (part 2), and this week in particular (which is week 13) the title is, The Seed of David Becoming the Son of God.

Hallelujah, what a great truth we see in the Bible, especially in Acts and in Romans, that Christ as the Seed of David became the Son of God!

The Bible is a wonderful book containing both historical events and the spiritual significance of the most important such events.

If we are open to the Lord, if our vessel is open to Him and we have a heart turned to Him, we will see something from what is on His heart.

God’s desire throughout the Bible is not merely to make Himself known to man or to bring man into a deeper fellowship with God; these are present in the Bible, but God’s desire is much more.

His desire is to make Himself the same as man so that man would be made the same as God in life, nature, expression, and function, but not in the Godhead, so that man and God, God and man, would be one for eternity.

This is His desire from Genesis, where we see that He created man in His image and according to His likeness and placed man in front of the tree of life so that man would take God in as life.

This desire of God is consummated in the New Jerusalem in the new heaven and new earth, where we see the holy city where God and man dwell in one another, are one in full, and are mingled together so that they become one entity in an inseparable yet distinguishable way. Praise the Lord!

This week, as we come to Acts 13 and Rom. 1, we want to open to the Lord and give Him more ground in our being so that we may see the high peak of the divine revelation.

We want to see what the gospel is, what our destiny is, and what God did and is doing today to accomplish His heart’s desire.

Christ is the Seed of David according to the flesh, and He went through a process to become the Son of God.

He was already the Son of God from eternity to eternity, but in incarnation, He put on humanity, and in this human part, He was not the Son of God.

But praise the Lord, He was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness!

In Resurrection, Christ was Begotten by God to be the Firstborn Son of God according to God’s Promise

And we announce to you the gospel of the promise made to the fathers, That God has fully fulfilled this [promise] to us their children in raising up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son; this day have I begotten You." Acts 13:32-33

In Acts 13:23, we see that God, according to promise, brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus; this is Jesus Christ, the seed of David according to the flesh.

Furthermore, v. 33 says that God has fully fulfilled this promise in raising up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, You are My Son; this day have I begotten You. Wow!

When Paul announced the gospel in Acts 13, he said that this gospel is of the promise made to the fathers, and that God has fully fulfilled this promise to them, their descendants in raising up Jesus.

How is the gospel fulfilled? It is by Christ as the seed of David becoming the Son of God in resurrection. Amazing!

Resurrection was a birth to the Lord Jesus as a man.

When He became a man, Christ put on humanity; in His human part, He was not the son of God but rather, He was a man according to the flesh.

But in His resurrection, Christ was begotten by God to be the firstborn Son of God among many brothers (Rom. 8:29). Hallelujah!

We may take this for granted, but this is the essence of the gospel.

The gospel is concerning the wonderful Person of Jesus Christ, who is God incarnated to be a man, living a perfect human life on earth, accomplishing an all-inclusive redemption on the cross, and resurrecting to become a life-giving Spirit to come into us to regenerate us with the divine life.

In His resurrection three wonderful things happened: Christ became a life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45), He was begotten by God to be the firstborn Son of God (Rom. 8:29; Acts 13:33), and we were regenerated to be the many sons of God (1 Pet. 1:3). Praise the Lord!

Christ was already the only begotten Son of God from eternity, even before His incarnation (see John 1:18; 3:16).

However, for the fulfillment of God’s eternal economy so that God would be joined and mingled with man to be one entity, the Body of Christ for the corporate expression of God, Christ became a man.

As a man, Jesus Christ was not the Son of God; this human part had to be brought into divinity and begotten of God to be the Son of God.

Resurrection was a birth to the man Jesus. He was begotten by God in His resurrection to be the firstborn Son of God among many brothers (Rom. 8:29). He was the only begotten Son of God from eternity (John 1:18; 3:16). After incarnation, through resurrection He was begotten by God in His humanity to be God's firstborn Son. Acts 13:33, footnote 1 on, Begotten. This is exactly what happened in the Lord’s resurrection.

This is why we say that resurrection was a birth to the man Jesus, for He was begotten by God in His resurrection to be the firstborn Son of God among many brothers.

The fact that He is the firstborn means that there are many other brothers; in John 20, the Lord Jesus told Mary to go and tell His brothers – He didn’t say, go to My disciples, but, go to My brothers.

In His resurrection, something wonderful and miraculous happened: Christ was begotten in His humanity to be the firstborn Son of God and we became the many sons of God.

We are now the many brothers of Christ, who is our Elder Brother, and we are the many children of God who were regenerated unto a living hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead! Praise the Lord!

We need to see the processes that Christ went through from being the only begotten Son of God from eternity to being the firstborn Son of God in His resurrection.

When we see this, we will praise Him and we will thank Him, for we also were begotten by God in Christ’s resurrection to be the many sons of God!

Christ is the firstborn Son and we are the many sons!

Lord Jesus, we praise You for Your incarnation, death, and resurrection. We praise You as the incarnated God-man who is the seed of David according to the flesh. Hallelujah, through His death and in His resurrection, Christ in His humanity was begotten by God to be the firstborn Son of God! Wow, Lord, now You are not only the Only Begotten Son of God according to Your divinity but even more, You are the firstborn Son of God in Your humanity! Hallelujah, Christ is the firstborn Son of God and we are the many sons of God! Amen, Lord, unveil us to see what happened at the time of Christ’s resurrection. May we realize that Christ as the only begotten Son of God became the firstborn Son of God in His humanity and that we were begotten of God to be His many sons! Praise the Lord, we are the many sons of God begotten of God in Christ’s resurrection, for we were regenerated unto a living hope! Amen, Lord, now we want to live in resurrection to be a new creation, one spirit with Christ so that He may live in us!

Christ is the Seed of David and the Son of God for our Experience and Enjoyment – this is the Gospel of God

Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers. Rom. 8:29

In order for God to become enjoyable and experiential to us, He was incarnated to be a man and then He was resurrected to be the firstborn Son of God and the life-giving Spirit.

How can the God who dwells in unapproachable light become our enjoyment today?

For us to experience and enjoy the Lord, He has two statuses: human and divine.

In His human status, Christ is the seed of David according to the flesh.

In His divine status, Christ is the Son of God in power. This is the gospel.

Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, Which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, Concerning His Son, who came out of the seed of David according to the flesh, Who was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 1:1-4This is what Paul speaks of in Rom. 1:1-4, where he said that he was separated unto the gospel of God, which He promises beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who came out of the seed of David according to the flesh, who was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord. Hallelujah!

Christ is the seed of David and the Son of God.

According to his human nature, Jesus Christ is the seed of David; He was born in the lineage of David, being the descendant of a person in history (see Matt. 1:1; 22:42).

However, according to His divine nature, Christ is the Son of God to be the expression of God.

When the New Testament mentions the Son of God it is in reference to the expression of God (John 5:19; 14:7-9; Heb. 1:3).

Jesus Christ is the Son of God to express God the Father (John 1:18).

Before Christ came, people did not know how God is like, for no one has ever seen God; yet Christ as the Son of God, the Word of God, came to speak God forth, declare Him, and express Him (John 1:1; Rev. 19:13; Heb. 1:2). Praise the Lord!

When we look at Christ, we see God the Father in all His riches and with all His attributes.

God the Father is hidden and invisible; Christ, the Son of God, is the manifest God, for He declared God and expressed God.

By these two statuses, the seed of David and the Son of God, Jesus Christ is the God-man, the complete God and the perfect man.

This is truly wonderful yet so mysterious, for here is a man who is not just man but God, and here we see God who is not invisible but made real to us in a man.

This mysterious and wonderful person with two statuses and two natures is the contents of the gospel of God, as revealed in the entire book of Romans.

We may read the book of Romans, and we may remember things such as God’s righteousness, justification, our being sinful, and many other things; however, the gospel of God is concerning His Son.

From chapter 1 of Romans to the very last chapter, chapter 16, we see the wonderful person of Jesus Christ as the seed of David and the Son of God.

In Rom. 1, we see the person of Jesus Christ as the God-man and the righteousness of God. In Rom. 16 we see the local churches as the expression of the Body of Christ.

In between and throughout the book of Romans, we see Christ as the seed of David and the Son of God – the God-man.

The beginning of the gospel is Christ and the consummation of the gospel is the Body of Christ expressed in the local churches.

In between, we have the dispensing of the Triune God into man in many ways, by many means, and through many processes so that sinful man would become a son of God, even be built up with other sons of God to be God’s corporate expression.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone who believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life. John 3:16 But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, To reveal His Son in me that I might announce Him as the gospel among the Gentiles... Gal. 1:15-16Jesus Christ as the Seed of David and the Son of God came to dispense Himself into us, His chosen and redeemed people, to make us members of the Body of Christ as the church of God. Praise the Lord!

We believers in Christ are those who have received the dispensing of Christ’s person with His divine and human natures so that we may be members of the Body of Christ to express Him corporately! Praise the Lord!

Around the globe there are many local churches as the local expression of the one universal Body of Christ!

Seeing that the gospel of God in Romans covers everything from incarnation to dispensing to the Body of Christ, we realize that the gospel is the economy of God, the entire New Testament economy of God! Amen!

And the center of this gospel of God is Jesus Christ, the God-man, the seed of David and the Son of God.

The gospel is not about a religion nor does it give us doctrines, forms, and other such things; the gospel is not merely concerned with redemption, forgiveness, justification, and things like this.

All these are part of the gospel, but the gospel of God is concerning Jesus Christ, the seed of David and the Son of God, to be dispensed into us and make us the same as He is to be His corporate expression to be the Body of Christ expressed in the many local churches.

It’s God’s intention for Him to produce us, His many sons, to be conformed to the pattern of Jesus Christ, His beloved Son (Matt. 3:17; 17:5; Gal. 1:15-16) whom He wants to be reproduced in us as His many sons! Hallelujah!

Lord, we praise You for unveiling us to see the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ, the God-man, who is the seed of David and the Son of God! Hallelujah, Jesus Christ came as the embodiment of God to express God, explain God, define God, and make God real to us! We love You, Lord Jesus, and we appreciate You in Your two statuses: the seed of David and the Son of God. Thank You for dispensing Yourself into us to make us the sons of God so that we may be regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, and conformed to the image of Christ as the firstborn Son of God! Hallelujah, God is dispensing Christ into His believers to make them members of the Body of Christ as the church of God! Amen, this universal Body of Christ as the corporate expression of God is expressed in the many local churches all over the globe! Hallelujah! Lord, keep us open to Your divine dispensing until we are fully transformed and conformed to Your image, even until we’re built up to be Your corporate expression on the earth! What a wonderful and glorious gospel we have!

This mysterious person with a wonderful status of two natures—the Lord Jesus Christ as the seed of David and the Son of God—is the contents of the gospel of God, which is revealed in the entire book of Romans…The entire book—from chapter 1, which concerns the person of Jesus Christ the Godman and the righteousness of God, to chapter 16, which concerns the local churches as the expression of the Body of Christ—is the gospel, the good news and glad tidings (10:15), of God to men in its completeness…In chapter 1 of Romans, we see Christ as a wonderful person with two natures—divine and human—and in the last chapter we see the local churches. This indicates that the beginning of the gospel is Christ and the consummation of the gospel is the local churches. These local churches are the issue of the dispensing of Christ’s person with His divine and human natures. This One is dispensed into God’s chosen and redeemed people to make them members of the Body of Christ as the church of God, which is expressed around the globe as the local churches. The gospel of God is thus God’s entire New Testament economy, and the center of this gospel of God is Jesus Christ the God-man.

Amen brother.

The beginning of the gospel is Christ, and the consummation of the gospel is the local churches.

So the gospel is concerned with sonship, not religion, doctrine or forms.

Nor is it so much concerned with redemption, forgiveness or justification.

The gospel of God is concerned with Jesus Christ our Lord.

He is God’s delight & pleasure, and God’s intention is to conform us to His image.

Amen. Thank you Lord we are your many sons.

As the seed of David and the Son of God, Christ is the complete God and the perfect man, the God-man.

Christ is now looking to dispense Himself into His chosen people that they may form the body of Christ, and He may be expressed through them.

O Lord may we be those who partake of Your divine nature within us. Lord may we just be one with our spirit. And may your image be expressed out of us.

The gospel of God begins with Jesus Christ – the only begotten Son of God who became the Firstborn Son of God in resurrection – and consummates in the local churches.

Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as the Seed of David and Son of God possesses both divinity and humanity, dispensing Himself to bring forth many sons, conformed to His to make them members of His Body in the local churches.

Lord, thank You for begetting us as Your sons through. Your divine dispensing that just as You express God we might express You in the church!

This week’s message is the whole walk of genuine Christian from being born of God to the end of entrance to His kingdom.

Our participation in the kingdom of God begins on the day we become children of God.When we are born of God, we begin a new life. This new divine life began to manifest in a new nature.

This life and nature that we have received through faith in His grace will take root, grow, have branches, bloom, and bear fruit.

This journey of life, which begins at birth, completes its full development with the nourishment it receives from the source and enters victoriously into the kingdom of God.

According to His human nature, Christ is the seed of David. According to His divine nature, He is the Son of God, the expression of God.

This person with a wonderful status of two natures—the Lord Jesus Christ as both the seed of David and the Son of God—is the contents of the gospel of God which is revealed in the entire book of Romans.

This means that the gospel is concerned with sonship. God’s intention to produce many sons conformed to the pattern, the model, of Christ as the firstborn Son of God.

Through Christ, in Christ, and with Christ, many sons are being produced.

These many sons constitute the Body of Christ expressed as local churches.

These local churches are the issue of the dispensing of Christs person with His divine and human natures.

Praise the Lord.
