Christ will Satisfy us, Shepherd us, Shelter us, Feed us, and Wipe away our Tears!

They will not hunger anymore, neither will they thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat upon them, nor any heat. Rev. 7:16

The testimony of Jesus is the great multitude, who both in eternity and now enjoy the Lord’s shepherding and care; in particular, we will not hunger or thirst anymore, the beating sun and the scorching heat will not strike us, the Lamb will shepherd us and guide us, and He will wipe away our tears.

Amen, Lord, we open to Your shepherding today. We want to enjoy all the blessings of being Your people, those under Your shepherding. Thank You for being our food and our drink to quench our thirst and hunger. Thank You for being our covering from the heat. Thank You for being the Lamb shepherding us and guiding us to springs of waters of life. Amen, Lord, wipe away every tear from our eyes! Amen!

This week we have been enjoying the faithful Witness of God (Christ) for the testimony of Jesus. The faithful Witness of God, for He is the testimony and expression of God.

Then, the testimony of Jesus as seen in the book of Revelation is the seven golden lampstands. The golden lampstand shows us the significance of the Triune God, and in practicality today, the church is the testimony of Jesus, the full realisation and expression of the Triune God.

What is special about the golden lampstands is that they are identical, they shine with God as the light, and they express God.

May we remain in the enjoyment and experience of Christ today, and may we remain under the Lord’s shining.

Oh, how we need the Lord’s shining. In His mercy, He shines on us, and if we cooperate with the Lord by opening to Him and being unloaded, we can shine with Him as our light.

Furthermore, the testimony of Jesus is the great multitude seen in Revelation 7; this great multitude is the whole Body of God’s redeemed, who have been raptured to the heavens to enjoy God’s care and the Lamb’s shepherding.

Today we can enjoy the Lord’s blessings, and for eternity we will enjoy all the blessings under the Lord’s shepherding.

He shepherds us today and will shepherd us for eternity with all the spiritual blessings in the heavenlies and in Christ, for even today we can enjoy His blessings.

Even though we pass through tribulations, we open to the Lord, we wash our robes in the blood of the Lamb, and we overcome the enemy and go on in the Lord.

We are those who come out of the tribulation with palm branches in our hands, for we are victorious over the tribulation.

We are learning today to serve the Lord, in preparation of our service to Him for eternity! Amen!

We will Not Hunger or Thirst Anymore: Christ Satisfies us as the Living Water and the Living Bread!

Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall by no means hunger, and he who believes into Me shall by no means ever thirst. John 6:35

In Revelation 7:16 we see the Lord’s promise that, as the great multitude, we will not hunger or thirst anymore. What a promise this is! Today we may hunger and thirst, but for eternity we will not hunger or thirst anymore!

To hunger and thirst is to have a hope that is not satisfied yet; it is not just to hunger and thirst physically, but have a yearning or hope that is not yet satisfied or met (see John 6:35).

Today we hunger and thirst for many things, and we have hopes and yearnings that are not satisfied. But the Lord promises that for eternity we will no longer hunger or thirst anymore! Praise the Lord!

This is not just a promise for the future but also something we can enjoy today. If we come to the Lord with the exercise of our spirit, if we come to Him in His word, He is the bread of life to us, and we will shall by no means hunger.

He satisfies our hunger, for He is the bread of life. And if we drink the water that He gives us, we will by no means thirst forever, for the water He gives us will become in us a fountain of water springing up into eternal life (John 4:14).

Today, in our daily living, we can come to the Lord and call on His name, opening to Him from deep within so that we may be satisfied. Christ promises everyone who believes into Him that he will be satisfied and receive a satisfying life.

In the world we are offered food and drink, but this does not satisfy us. We cannot satisfy ourselves; Christ can satisfy us, for He is becoming our satisfaction.

Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again, But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall by no means thirst forever; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life. John 4:13-14The world and all it has to offer can satisfy us only temporarily; it is only for the moment that we are satisfied, but it cannot satisfy us forever.

But praise the Lord, once we come to the Lord and drink and eat Him, when we partake of Christ as the living bread and the water of life, we will never thirst and we will never hunger.

This is the Lord’s promise, and we stand on His word; He promises that everyone who drinks of Him will by no means thirst forever, and who eats Him as the bread of life shall by no means be hungry (vv. 13-14). Hallelujah!

Once we eat the Lord, we are satisfied! Once we drink Him as the living water, we will never be thirsty! Yes, we will still thirst, but we can keep coming to Him to eat and drink Him!

To contact God the Spirit in our spirit is to drink the living water, and to drink the living water is to render real worship to God (vv. 23-24).

Lord Jesus, thank You for being so available to us as the living bread and the living water. Amen, Lord, we are hungry and we are thirsty. We come to You today. We come to You in Your word. We exercise our spirit to call on Your name. Oh Lord Jesus, we have an inner yearning, a hope, that is not satisfied; we come to You to drink of You and eat You as the living bread! Hallelujah, everyone who believes into the Lord Jesus will be satisfied and receive Him as their satisfying life! Amen, Lord, we contact You as the Spirit in our spirit to drink the living water! Fill us today. Satisfy us inwardly. Quench our thirst and satisfy our hunger!

The Lamb-God on the Throne will Tabernacle Over Us – the Sun and Heat will not Strike Us!

How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! / Thus the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. Psa. 36:7

Another promise from the Lord for eternity is that we as the body of His redeemed ones will not be affected by the beating sun and the scorching heat (Rev. 7:16).

Today the sun can be so hot, and in many places, there is scorching heat.

Some people call it global warming, and some people live with it day and night; sometimes the sun is so bright and the heat is so strong that you cannot stay outside for too long.

The Lord promises that the beating sun and the scorching heat will not strike us. Hallelujah!

The Lamb-God sitting upon the throne will tabernacle over us, overshadowing us with Himself (Rev. 7:15-16).

To be under the beating sun and the scorching heat can also refer to our tribulations, trials, and sufferings.

Sometimes the weather is nice outside, or we are indoors so we’re not affected by the physical heat and sun, but inwardly we are suffering and we are under much pressure.

There is one kind of life that is under God’s overshadowing – it is a life that is hidden in God (Psa. 36:7-9; Eph. 6:17; Psa. 91:1; 17:8; 57:1; Ruth 2:12).

We may have a thorn in our flesh and we may ask the Lord to remove it from us.

Because of this they are before the throne of God and serve Him day and night in His temple; and He who sits upon the throne will tabernacle over them. They will not hunger anymore, neither will they thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat upon them, nor any heat. Rev. 7:15-16There may be a problem in our environment, a particular pressing situation and a particular painful environment, and we are under the “scorching heat” and the “beating sun.”

Even today we can enjoy the Lord overshadowing us, like a grand umbrella. We can enjoy the Lord’s overshadowing as we live a life hidden with Christ in God.

Christ as Jehovah and also a man is the King who is supplying, caring for, and covering God’s people. Christ is the King for ruling and a man who is like a refuge from the wind and a covering from the tempest.

He is like streams of water in a dry place, and He is like the shadow of a massive rock in a wasted land (Isa. 32:1-2).

May we come to Him in all our problems, our pressing environments, and our suffering situations, and may we enjoy Him as the One who tabernacles over us and who is our refuge.

May we experience Him as the One who tabernacles over us and whose grace is sufficient in all our situations.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise to be with us in all our sufferings, pressing situations, and tribulations. We open to You. We want to enjoy You. May our life be hidden with Christ in God. May we remain in our mingled spirit, joined to You as one spirit. Amen, Lord, we run to You and we hide in You from all the pressures and sufferings. Cover us. Overshadow us. Protect us. Thank You for being the King who is supplying us, caring for us, and covering us! Thank You for being our refuge from the wind and a covering from the tempest. We come to You to enjoy You as streams of water in a dry place. We enjoy You as the reality of a shadow of a massive rock in a wasted land. Amen, Lord, Your grace is sufficient for us!

The Lamb who is in the Midst of the Throne will Shepherd us and Guide us to Springs of Waters of Life!

For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and guide them to springs of waters of life... Rev. 7:17

In eternity, the Lord promises that the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd us and guide us to springs of waters of life (Rev. 7:17). Hallelujah!

He shepherds us today, and for eternity He will shepherd us. The Lord is our shepherd, and we shall not want (Psa. 23:1).

Shepherding includes feeding and also cherishing, and under the Lord’s shepherding, we will lack nothing. We may try to improve ourselves, but this does not work.

We may try to provide some food for ourselves, but this does not satisfy us. We need a Shepherd. We are as lambs, and He is our Shepherd.

We need the Lord as the Shepherd of our souls. We can enjoy His shepherding today.

When we come to Him, no matter what our condition is, no matter how low we may be, He is our Shepherd. He feeds us all the time.

He feeds the lambs with His experience as the Lamb of God, who is on the throne of God in and for the house of God (Psa. 23:2-6; Rev. 22:1).

He is like a great hen hiding us under His wings, and in Him we are safe; He also shepherds us and makes sure we are well-taken care of.

Jehovah is my Shepherd; I will lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; / He leads me beside waters of rest. He restores my soul; / He guides me on the paths of righteousness / For His name's sake. Even though I walk / Through the valley of the shadow of death, / I do not fear evil, / For You are with me; / Your rod and Your staff, / They comfort me. You spread a table before me / In the presence of my adversaries; / You anoint my head with oil; / My cup runs over. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me / All the days of my life, / And I will dwell in the house of Jehovah / For the length of my days. Psa. 23:1-6We can come to the Lord, we can be in the secret place of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty (Psa. 91:1).

He delivers us from many perils. He shelters us. He has the springs of life (Psa. 87:7), and there’s a river of water of life flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Rev. 22:1).

Not only for eternity but even today, we can come to the Lord and enjoy His shepherding. He leads us to His presence, He shepherds us, and we enjoy Him, having our soul in His rest and peace.

We can never improve ourselves; we need a Shepherd to feed us all the time. What a restful enjoyment this is! This is our blessing today, and this will be our blessing to be enjoyed us for eternity!

For eternity, we will be shepherded to springs of water of life by the Lamb on the throne, and we will eat Him as the tree of life and drink the water of life flowing from the throne of God!

He causes us to lie down and rest. He restores our soul. What a wonderful Shepherd we have!

Lord Jesus, we open to You as the Shepherd of our soul. Thank You for being our good Shepherd. We love You and we come to You to enjoy Your wonderful shepherding. Guide us, Lord, to springs of water of life. Restore our soul. Deliver us from many perils. Shelter us. Cover us. Feed us. We open to Your cherishing and nourishing today. Hallelujah, under the shepherding of Christ, we will lack nothing! Praise the Lord, even though we can never improve ourselves, we have Christ as the Shepherd of our soul to feed us all the time! We open to Your wonderful shepherding today!

He will Wipe Away every Tear from our Eyes

You have counted my wanderings. / Put my tears into Your bottle. / Are they not in Your book? Psa. 56:8 ...and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Rev. 7:17

Revelation 7:17 says that Christ will wipe away every tear from our eyes; this is something He will do for eternity.

Today we have many tears. We weep, for our soul is not satisfied, we suffer, and many tribulations are our portion. In this age, tears are something common to us.

The Lord, however, says that He puts our tears in God’s bottle (Psa. 56:8). He cares for us, He loves us, and He puts our tears in His bottle.

How precious this is. Even the Lord Jesus wept when He was on the earth. He wept beside the tomb of Lazarus, He wept on His way to Jerusalem, and He wept in Gethsemane (Heb. 5:7).

Tears are unavoidable in this age. But praise the Lord, our tears are put into God’s bottle and recorded in His book (see Acts 20:19, 31; Psa. 56:8; cf. Mal. 3:16).

But in the next age and for eternity, because the Lamb supplies us with waters of life for our satisfaction, the water of tears is wiped away (see Jer. 9:1; 2:13; cf. 15:16; Lam. 3:21-25, 55-56). This is His promise for eternity.

Thank God that the days of sorrow and the things of sorrow will not last. Amen!

The world is passing away, and we are blessed to drink of the flowing Triune God until we become the totality of eternal life, the New Jerusalem (John 4:14).

This is a blessing we will enjoy for eternity.

Today we have sorrow and tears, and we can drink the river of water of life; however, we can be comforted that one day our sorrows will pass away, and we will for eternity drink the flowing Triune God!

Today we cannot avoid tears, but we believe God’s word, be satisfied, enjoy God’s sheltering, and be under the Lord’s shepherding. Hallelujah!

Lord Jesus, we love You and we open to You. Thank You for Your loving care for us. We believe Your promise that You will wipe away every tear from our eyes! Amen, Lord, though tears are unavoidable in this age, You put them in Your bottle and record them in Your book. Thank You for Your care and love for us. Supply us, dear Lord, with waters of life for our satisfaction, until the water of tears is wiped away! We believe into You and we stand on Your word. Satisfy us. Shelter us. Shepherd us. Keep us enjoying You today!

Springs are with God (87:7), while the river of water of life flows from the throne of God and of the Lamb (Rev. 22:1). In other words, we are very close to God; we are right beside Him. God leads us to His presence, and the Lamb shepherds us. To put it another way, it is the Lamb who shepherds; it is Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who feeds the lambs with His experience as the Lamb of God. We can never improve ourselves. We need a Shepherd to feed us all the time. What a restful enjoyment this is! This again is something that we can enjoy today. Today we can enjoy the three blessings above. But this does not mean that we will have no tears. We have to wait until we reach heaven before our tears will be wiped away…Our Lord Jesus was completely restful while He was on earth; He could walk through all difficulties. Yet He wept beside the tomb of Lazarus, and He also wept on His way to Jerusalem. Finally, He wept in Gethsemane. Hebrews 5 says that He prayed “with strong crying and tears” (v. 7). This shows that tears are unavoidable in this age. However, our tears are put into God’s bottle and recorded in His book (Psa. 56:8)…Even though tears are bitter, God remembers them; therefore, they are a blessing! Although we cannot avoid tears today, if we believe in God’s word, we can be satisfied, and we can have God’s sheltering and the Lord’s shepherding. God has promised that we can enjoy these three items of blessings today.
