Christ Obtained an Eternal Redemption and Opened the Way into the Holy of Holies

Heb. 10:19-20 Having therefore, brothers, boldness for entering the Holy of Holies in the blood of Jesus, which entrance He initiated for us as a new and living way through the veil, that is, His flesh.

Christ entered into the heavenly Holy of Holies and obtained an eternal redemption, and He initiated a new and living way for us to come forward to God in the Holy of Holies.

Hallelujah for our wonderful, all-inclusive Christ typified in Leviticus and revealed in Hebrews to be our eternal portion (Heb. 13:8)!

This week we really enjoyed some of the wonderful aspects of Christ revealed in Leviticus in type and expounded in Hebrews in reality, and we saw many practical ways to enter into the enjoyment of this wonderful all-inclusive Christ.

Our Christ is so wonderful and all-inclusive that plain words are not adequate to reveal Him; there’s need of types – which are actually pictures – that would show who He is and how He can be applied to our experience.

In the book of Leviticus we see many types and pictures, and Paul expounded these types of Christ in the book of Hebrews, where he clearly shows us that Christ fulfills all these types and He is everything to us, His people, for us to live in fellowship with God, serve God, and be His people.

Here are some of the aspects of Christ and His work in Leviticus and how they are fulfilled in Hebrews and applied to our experience:

  1. Christ is the reality of all the offerings in Leviticus. He came as the unique sacrifice to fulfill and replace all the offerings, and He satisfies all God’s requirements and fulfills His longing, and He also satisfies man, being our enjoyment and experience.
  2. God’s speaking is in Christ and is Christ, the Son of God (Heb. 1:1). God is expressed not only by His speaking in an objective way but in Christ in a subjective way; Christ as the Word of God was embodied to express God, explain God, and define God.
  3. Christ the Son is the effulgence of God’s glory and the impress of His substance (Heb. 1:3); with respect to God’s glory as His expression, Christ is the effulgence of God’s glory, and with respect to the inward essence of God, the Son is the impress of God’s substance.
  4. In God’s creation the Son is the Creator of all things, the Upholder of all things, and the Heir of all things. All things were created through Him, He upholds all things and all things cohere in Him, and He will inherit all things.
  5. Christ destroyed the devil on the cross; in the fulness of time, the Son became flesh and destroyed the devil through His death on the cross.
  6. Christ is the Author of our salvation and the Captain of our full salvation into glory (Heb. 2:10). He took the lead as our captain to enter into glory, and we, His followers, take the same way to be brought into the same glory, which was ordained by God for us.
  7. Christ is the Apostle and the Builder of God’s house (Heb. 3:1-6); on one hand He was sent to us from God and with God, and on the other, He builds the house of God by His divinity and His humanity, whose house we are.
  8. Christ is the merciful, faithful, and great High Priest; He is the fulfillment of the type of the High Priest, with divinity and humanity, and He is both merciful and faithful. He is great in His person, work, and attainments, and He sympathises with our weaknesses.
  9. Christ is our Forerunner, who has entered within the veil (Heb. 6:19-20). He took the lead to pass through the stormy sea and enter into the heavenly haven to be the High Priest for us according to the order of Melchizedek, and we follow Him!
  10. Christ is the surety of a better covenant; He not only made a new covenant but became the covenant, and He has pledged Himself that He will do everything necessary for the fulfilment of the new covenant.
  11. Christ is the High Priest according to the order of an indestructible divine life, and He is able to save us to the uttermost (Heb. 7:25-26).
  12. Christ is the Minister in the heavens (Heb. 8:1-2), ministering heaven (which is a condition of life) into us so that we may have the heavenly life and power to live a heavenly life on earth – just as He did when He was here.

Hallelujah for such a Christ, who is our eternal portion for us to enjoy – He is inexhaustible!

Christ entered into the Heavenly Holy of Holies and Obtained an Eternal Redemption

Heb. 9:11-12 But Christ, having come as a High Priest of the good things that have come into being, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made by hands, that is, not of this creation, and not through the blood of goats and calves but through His own blood, entered once for all into the Holy of Holies, obtaining an eternal redemption. In Heb. 9:11-12 we see that Christ is the One who entered into the Holy of Holies in the heavens and He obtained an eternal redemption.

We may think that Jesus died for us on the cross and He shed His blood for us, so redemption was done.

Actually, in reality Christ accomplished redemption on the cross, but it wasn’t until He entered into the heavenly Holy of Holies, that is, when He brought His redeeming blood to offer it before God, that He obtained the redemption that has an eternal effect (Col. 1:20; Heb. 9:11-12).

The blood of Jesus was shed on the cross, and in resurrection and ascension Jesus brought it in the heavens before God; He sprinkled it in the heavenly tabernacle, over the mercy-seat – the propitiation cover, and the eternal redemption came into effect.

We shouldn’t stop with merely seeing the cross; we need to see that Christ is now in the heavens ministering to us. He brought the blood He shed on the cross into the heavens, sprinkled it in the Holy of Holies before God, and made the redemption of an eternal effect. Hallelujah!

Since Christ as the Lamb of God took away the sin of the world by offering Himself once for all on the cross as the sacrifice for sins, His blood – which He sprinkled in the heavenly tabernacle – has accomplished an eternal redemption for us (see John 1:29; Heb. 9:14; 10:12; 12:24; 1 Pet. 1:18-19).

Praise the Lord, we have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ!

As seen in Lev. 16:14-16, the blood of bulls had to be brought into the Holy of Holies and sprinkled on the expiation cover, and when Christ did this in reality in the heavenly Holy of Holies, He accomplished an eternal redemption!

Christ offered Himself to God through the eternal Spirit, and now His blood purifies our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Praise the Lord, Christ is the One who now appears before the face of God for us (Heb. 9:24).

He stands in the heavens before God in our place. We have an advocate before God who takes care of all our affairs, difficulties, and problems. Christ is our heavenly attorney, our heavenly minister, taking care of all our needs.

How we thank the Lord for His eternal redemption which He obtained as He entered and sprinkled His blood in the heavenly Holy of Holies! Now His blood is eternally effective, and we can apply His blood to enjoy all His riches at any time and in any place!

Thank You Lord Jesus for dying for us, shedding Your blood on the cross, and sprinkling this blood in the heavenly Holy of Holies to obtain an eternal redemption for us! Hallelujah, redemption was made, and now we can apply the precious blood of Christ to be cleansed, purified, and washed. Praise You, Lamb of God who took away the sin of the world by offering Yourself on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins! Praise You Lord for obtaining an eternal redemption for us by sprinkling Your shed blood in the heavenly tabernacle!

Christ is the Initiator of a New and Living Way for us to Enter the Holy of Holies, our Mingled Spirit

As the Initiator of a new and living way, Christ opened the way for us to enter the Holy of Holies by His blood through the veil, His flesh (Heb. 10:20). Through the better sacrifices of Christ, we have boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies (9:23; 10:19). Although the Holy of Holies today is in heaven, where the Lord Jesus is (9:12, 24), in 10:19 the Holy of Holies refers to the Holy of Holies in our spirit; our spirit is God’s residence, the chamber in which God and Christ dwell (Eph. 2:22). Witness Lee, The Conclusion of the New Testament, p. 3822Praise the Lord, today we have boldness to enter the Holy of Holies in the blood of Jesus, for He made an entrance for us – He initiated an entrance as a new and living way through the veil, that is, His flesh (Heb. 10:19-20).

In the Old Testament only the priests could enter into the Holy Place, and only the high priest could enter into the Holy of Holies once a year, but the Lord Jesus opened a new and living way for us all to enter into the Holy of Holies!

As the initiator of a new and living way, Christ opened the way for us to enter the Holy of Holies by His blood through the veil, His flesh.

When He was crucified, the veil in the temple was riven, signifying that His flesh was riven for us to enter into the Holy of Holies. The way to God is now open; the way into the Holy of Holies is open through the Lord’s death on the cross.

We have a new and living way which the Lord initiated and opened; He took this way into God as a man, and He is calling us to come forward to the Holy of Holies!

Praise the Lord, through the better sacrifices of Christ, we have boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies, to come forward to God (Heb. 9:23; 10:19).

We just need to have boldness and not shrink back. Every morning, regardless of what our situation is and how stormy our situation is, we need to come to the Lord as we are in the new and living way which He initiated for us!

We just need to follow the Lord as the Captain of our salvation: He cut the way, He entered into God, and now we can also come forward!

Although the Holy of Holies today is in heaven, where the Lord Jesus is (Heb. 9:12, 24), in Heb. 10:19 the Holy of Holies refers to the Holy of Holies in our spirit. Our spirit is God’s residence, the chamber in which God and Christ dwell (see Eph. 2:22).

Where is the Holy of Holies in reality and practicality in our experience? It is in our spirit. It is in our spirit that God and Christ dwell, for they take our spirit as their dwelling place.

Whenever we turn to our spirit, our spirit is universally spacious, containing God and Christ and even all the saints. When we’re in our spirit, we are connected to the heavens, and we are under the ministry of the heavenly Minister, our High Priest!

When we turn to our spirit and remain in our spirit, the reality of the Holy of Holies today, we are richly supplied with the divine life and power for us to live a heavenly life on earth.

Hallelujah, our spirit is connected to the heavenly Holy of Holies, so now, we need to have boldness and enter into the Holy of Holies by the new and living way which the Lord initiated for us.

We can simply apply the blood of Christ and exercise to turn to our spirit, and come forward with boldness to the throne of grace – the Holy of Holies – in our mingled spirit!

Through the better sacrifices of Christ, we have boldness to enter into the holy of Holies at any time!

Lord Jesus, give us the boldness to keep coming forward to You! You initiated this way; You pioneered this way, and we want to follow You! Lord, we come forward with boldness to the Holy of Holies in our spirit based on the shed blood of Christ! Hallelujah, based on the eternal redemption accomplished by Christ we can turn to our spirit as God’s residence and enter into the Holy of Holies! Praise the Lord! Thank You Lord for being so available, so reachable, and so easy to contact and enter in. Amen, we come forward!
