Christ is Lord of All, the Judge of the Living and the Dead, and the Object of Faith

[God] Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim. 2:4

Hallelujah for our wonderful Lord Jesus, the all-inclusive Christ, who is revealed in Acts as the Lord of All, the Judge of the living and the dead, and the Lord Jesus, the object of the believers’ faith! Oh, our Jesus Christ is so lovely, so enjoyable, and so extensive!

It takes the whole eternity for us to enjoy Him, experience Him, and partake of Him, and we will never exhaust His riches! This week we have been looking at the book of Acts to enjoy the wonderful aspects of Christ as the resurrected Christ, the ascended Christ, and the all-inclusive Christ.

First, we need to see that Christ is in resurrection; through His death, He entered into another realm – the realm of resurrection. Death could not hold this One; rather, He is life that goes beyond death, and He defeated death and rose up from it. Praise the Lord!

The disciples testified of the resurrected Christ to those around them, for the resurrection of Christ was the focus of the apostles’ testimony.

Furthermore, the Christ revealed in Acts is in ascension; this is a matter of position and authority. He was not only resurrected but even more, He was ascended, and He was initiated into His living and ministry in the heavens.

Christ is now the resurrected One in ascension, sitting in the heavens to execute God’s administration. Christ was exalted by God and was given the kingship, the lordship, and the headship over all things. He obtained the throne, the glory, and all the authority in the universe! Praise the Lord!

In the book of Acts we see not just that Christ is resurrected and ascended, but even more, we see various aspects of the all-inclusive Christ.

First, Christ is the Author of life; He’s the origin of life, for He propagates Himself as life into all His believers. Christ is God’s Servant, coming to us to bless us with Himself as the Spirit; we today are blessed people!

Christ is the Leader and Saviour, for He is the Ruler of the kings to rule over the world and He’s also the Saviour to save God’s chosen people.

How we love Him as the Ruler and the Saviour, who continually rules over all things to cause us to be saved to the uttermost! Christ is the Son of Man and also God Himself.

Wow, on the one hand, Christ is the Son of Man, caring for us in His humanity in ascension for our comfort, strengthening, and encouragement.

On the other hand, Christ is God, for He purchased the church with His own blood, treasuring the church to the uttermost. Praise the Lord!

Today we want to see that Christ is the Lord of all, Christ is the Judge of the living and the dead, and Christ is the Lord Jesus, the object of our faith.

Christ is the Lord of All, and with Him there’s No Respect of Persons!

The word which He sent to the sons of Israel in announcing the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ (this One is Lord of all). Acts 10:36

God is not a respecter of persons; Christ is the Lord of all, and with Him there’s no respect of persons (Acts 10:34-36). Praise the Lord!

God in every nation has persons who fear Him and work righteousness to be acceptable to God, and in particular, He sent the Lord Jesus Christ – who is Lord of all – that all men be saved through faith in Him!

Christ is not only the Lord of the Jewish people, the earthly people of God, but of all men, of all peoples.

Christ is the Lord of the Jews and of Gentiles. He is the Lord of all. He came to announce the gospel of peace, and He Himself is the Lord of all.

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:9-13). He is rich to all who call on His name, no matter the nationality.

Whether we are Jewish or Gentiles, whether we are from a poor or from a rich country, whether we have darker skin or lighter skin, and whether we are educated or not educated, Christ is the Lord of all!

Our Saviour God desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4).

Our God is God of all, the Lord Jesus is Lord of all, and the Spirit was given to all who call on the name of the Lord.

When we see people, no matter who they are and what they do, we need to pray on behalf of all men (v. 1), because God our Saviour desires all men to be saved and know the truth. For Him to do this, we need to pray; we cooperate with Him in prayer.

Thank the Lord that Christ is Lord of all. He does not discriminate, nor does He prefer certain people to others. He is Lord of all. The ascended Christ is the Lord of all the different races and peoples on earth; with Him there’s no respect of persons (Rev. 5:9).

We can all come to Him and contact Him. We can all call on the name of the Lord and receive His life. As long as we are human beings, Christ can be our Lord, for He doesn’t discriminate, nor does He prefer or reject people.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all and rich to all who call upon Him; For "whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Rom. 10:12-13 With Him there’s no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all and rich to all who call upon Him (Rom. 10:12).

Are you a human being? Then, you can call on the name of the Lord to enjoy His riches! The ascended Christ was made Lord of all; He was made not only the Lord of the good people or of those who obey Him but the Lord of all.

All those who call on His name can receive His life and partake of the riches of the divine life.

When we believers in Christ preach the gospel, we need to not discriminate or prefer a particular nation or race but simply speak Christ to all!

In every nation of the earth there are those who fear God and work righteousness; they are still part of fallen mankind. God accepts them in view of the redemption of Christ, for outside of Christ, no fallen man is justified by his works.

All men need to repent and receive Christ as their Lord and Saviour, for He is Lord of all! No man is saved or justified by works; everyone needs to repent and believe into the Lord Jesus!

Yes, God accepts those who work righteousness, but He wants all men to be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth!

Lord Jesus, we praise You as the Lord of all! Hallelujah, the resurrected and ascended Christ is our Lord! Amen, Lord, thank You for being our Lord. No matter who we are and what nationality we have, Jesus Christ is our Lord, for He is Lord of all! Amen, the ascended Christ is the Lord of all the different races and peoples on earth! Thank You, Lord, with You there’s no respect of persons. We come to You. We call on Your name. We want to enjoy You. We call on Your name to enjoy all Your riches, for You are Lord of all and rich to all who call on Your name! Hallelujah, we today can come as we are to the Lord Jesus, the Lord of all, and enjoy Him! Thank You, dear Lord, for being our Lord. Thank You, God, You desire all men to be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth!

Christ has been Designated by God to be the Judge of the Living and the Dead

And He has charged us to proclaim to the people and solemnly testify that this is the One who was designated by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. Acts 10:42

In Acts 10:39-43, we see that Christ is the Judge. Men persecuted and killed the Lord Jesus, hanging Him on a tree, but God raised Him on the third day.

The resurrected Christ made Himself manifest to witnesses appointed beforehand by God, the disciples of Christ, and He charged them to proclaim the gospel.

The resurrected Christ charged the disciples to proclaim to the people and solemnly testify that Christ is the One who was designated by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead.

To this One all the prophets testify that through His name everyone who believes into Him will receive forgiveness of sins. Hallelujah! Jesus Christ as a Man, a God-man, was given by God to judge the world.

Christ is a man to judge the world, designated by God in righteousness and proved by God’s raising Him from the dead (Acts 17:30-31). Wow, Christ has been designated by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead!

This is why we need to repent today, for God has overlooked the times of ignorance, and He’s now charging all men everywhere to repent.

God has set a day in which He is to judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has designated, having furnished proof to all by raising Him from the dead.

God set a day to judge the world, and the One who will judge the world will be Christ, the Man raised by God from the dead.

God set a day when Christ will judge living men, the nations on the earth at His coming back, on the throne of His glory before the millennium (Matt. 25:31-36). Amen!

We need to know Christ as the One designated by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. He will judge the living before the millennium, and He will judge the dead after the millennium at the great white throne (Rev. 20:11-15).

Both Paul and Peter confirm this, saying that Christ will judge both the living and the dead (2 Tim. 4:1; 1 Pet. 4:5).

Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now charges all men everywhere to repent, Because He has set a day in which He is to judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has designated, having furnished proof to all by raising Him from the dead. Acts 17:30-31 Today we are in the age of grace, and it is optional for us to receive the Lord and cooperate with Him for His salvation. But one day is coming when the Lord Jesus will judge the living and the dead, and we need to know that He will be the Judge.

The day of Christ’s judgement on earth will be brought in by His coming back.

The resurrection of Christ is a proof and assurance that He is coming back to judge all the inhabitants of the earth. This is guaranteed, so we may have faith in it that it may lead us to repent.

This is why we need to repent and we also need to help others to repent! Today we have the Lord’s mercy and grace so that we may repent in this age, but in the next age, there will be no more repenting!

God has decided: judgment is coming, and Christ has been raised from the dead. Christ has been designated to be Judge of the living and the dead, and we need to repent and believe in Him!

The One who will judge all men – both living and dead – is not merely God but also man! Wow, a Man will come to judge the living and the dead!

Lord Jesus, grant us to see that Christ has been designated by God to be the Judge of the living and the dead. Oh Lord, we repent and believe into You. Thank You for Your mercy and grace in this age. Thank You that we can have a turn with a change of mind, and we can receive the Lord Jesus as our Saviour. Amen, Lord, we believe that You are the Lord of all and You are also the coming Judge! May we have faith in Your promise and may we be led to repentance. May we cooperate with You today to be the overcomers You need in this age. May we be one with You to preach the gospel for many to repent and come to the full knowledge of the truth! Amen, Lord, may we have a heart for those around us, knowing that the resurrection of Jesus is proof and assurance that He’s coming back to judge all the inhabitants of the earth!

Christ is the Lord Jesus, the Object of the Believers’ Faith

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31

Don’t you love the Lord Jesus Christ, the all-inclusive One? The more we read the Bible, the more we love Him.

In Acts 16:31 we are told to believe on the Lord Jesus, and we are saved, we and our household. Who is Christ in Acts? He is the Lord Jesus, the object of the believers’ faith.

For us to believe in the gospel is mainly to believe in the Lord Jesus. This is what it means for us to be saved: to believe in the Lord Jesus.

What does it mean for us to believe in Jesus? To believe in the Lord Jesus is to stand on the person of Christ and all that He has accomplished, both of which constitute the belief, the faith of God’s New Testament economy (1 Tim. 1:4).

The Lord Jesus came as God incarnated, and He spoke again and again concerning the need for us to do one thing: believe in Him (Mark 16:16; John 3:16, 36; 6:47; Acts 13:39; 1 John 5:10).

No matter who we are, no matter what we do, no matter how good we are, and no matter how much evil we have done, we all need to do one thing: believe in the Lord Jesus. He is the object of our faith.

The demons believe in God, and they are afraid; believing that God exists is not enough. We need to believe into the Lord Jesus Christ, for He’s the object of our faith. And to believe in the Lord is to stand on what He is and on what He has done.

As we read the Gospels, we see what He is and what He has done. As we read and pray the word of God, we believe into the Lord and we are saved.

There is salvation in no other name, for neither is there another name under heaven given among men in which we must be saved except the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the object of our faith (Acts 4:12).

As long as we call on His name and believe into Him, we are saved (Acts 2:21).

We are saved through grace, and all those who believe into the Lord Jesus are saved through grace.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone who believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life. John 3:16 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes has eternal life. John 6:47 Oh, our God loved the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son that everyone who believes into Him would not perish but would have eternal life (John 3:16)! We just need to believe!

He who believes into the Son has eternal life, but he who disobeys the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him (John 3:36).

We just need to believe into the Lord Jesus, and we have eternal life by faith!

We don’t need to try to be better or justify ourselves by trying to do righteous deeds or give alms; we simply need to believe in the Lord Jesus, the object of our faith, and we are justified (Acts 13:39).

We who believe into the Son of God have the testimony in ourselves – we know that He is in us, we are in Him, and we are saved. Hallelujah!

May we believers in Christ simply remain in the organic union with the Lord, believing into Him and also speaking of Him, the object of our faith, to others!

When we present the most lovely and wonderful Person of Jesus Christ to others, faith is infused into them, and they believe! That’s all they need to do: believe!

Then the Lord will come in and will do everything in them and through them.

Lord Jesus, we open to You and we believe into You. Amen, Lord, we believe in the gospel by believing into Jesus Christ! Hallelujah, Christ is the Lord Jesus, the object of our faith! Amen, Lord, we open to You and we just believe! Thank You, God, for sending Your only begotten Son into the world so that we may believe into Him and have eternal life! Yes, we believe! Help our unbelief. Cause us to continue to believe. May we grow in faith. May we grow in the knowledge and appreciation of the Lord Jesus, the object of our faith! May our whole life be a pursuit of knowing Christ and enjoying Christ! Amen, Lord, we forget the things behind and we stretch forward in faith to gain more of You! We love You, Lord Jesus, and we want to know You, enjoy You, experience You, and be filled with You!

In Acts 17:30 and 31 Paul went on to say, “Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God now charges all men everywhere to repent, because He has set a day in which He is to judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has designated, having furnished proof to all by raising Him from the dead.” The day set by God for the judgment of the world will be the day when Christ will judge living men, that is, the nations on the earth at His coming back, on the throne of His glory before the millennium (Matt. 25:31-36)…According to Acts 10:42, Christ has been designated by God “to be the Judge of the living and the dead.” He will be the Judge of the dead after the millennium at the great white throne [cf. Rev. 20:11-15]. Second Timothy 4:1 and 1 Peter 4:5 also say that Christ will judge both the living and the dead. The day in Acts 17:31 refers particularly to the day when Christ will judge the living, because on this day He will judge the world, which should refer only to living men. This day of Christ’s judgment on earth will be brought in by His coming back. He has been designated by God to execute this judgment, and God’s raising Him from the dead is strong proof of this. Paul’s word regarding Christ as the man designated by God and regarding His resurrection indicates that Paul was fully constituted of this One and of His resurrection. Paul was led, guided, and directed absolutely by the Spirit of Jesus. Because he was constituted of the Spirit of Jesus, his goal, no matter what the subject in speaking, was to preach Christ and His resurrection.

The day when Christ will judge living men, i.e., the nations on the earth at His coming back, on the throne of His glory before the millennium (Matt. 25:31-46). This probably does not include the day when He will judge dead men at the great white throne after the millennium (Rev. 20:11-15), as in Acts 10:42 (see note there), 2 Tim. 4:1, and 1 Pet. 4:5, because on the day mentioned here He will judge the world, which should refer only to living men. This day of Christ’s judgment on earth will be brought in by His coming back. He was designated by God to execute this judgment, and God’s raising Him from the dead is strong proof of this. In their preaching to the Gentiles, both Peter in Acts 10:42 and Paul here and in Acts 24:25 stressed the coming judgment of God.

God has set a day in which He is to judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He has designated.

Christ is not only the resurrected and ascended Christ but He is also the Healer, God’s Servant, the Holy and Righteous One, the Author of life, the Prophet, the Leader, the Prince, the Ruler of the kings to rule over the world, the Savior to save God’s chosen people and the Judge and the Faith. Praise the Lord!!

We believe not only into Christ but also on Christ as the ground and the standing with His person and all that He has accomplished, both of which constitute the faith of God’s New Testament economy.

We exercise our spirit to substantiate, receive, and experience You today in Your all all-inclusiveness to meet our need that we may match Your need.

We believe on and into the Lord Jesus – the one who is the Lord of all people and who will judge the living and the dead.

We take the ground and stand on the person of Christ and all that He has accomplished, that we may have faith, repent and preach the gospel that others might be saved.

Lord, thank You for saving us that You might save all people. Amen. Lord judge us that we may keep You as the object of our faith!
